The Catskills Red Barn delivers a unique vacation experience year round. It's located next to Belleayre Mtn. Skiers and Riders also enjoy easy access to Hunter, Windham and Plattekill.
A variety of restaurants, supermarkets, and specialty shops are all nearby. Bargain hunters love the rural shopping. There's even a local distillery as well as brewery !

We stayed in the red barn for 9 days with our 8 year old son. We had a great time hiking right from the property, having evening fireside hangouts, and exploring the region. It's secluded, quiet and peaceful, without being isolated. Blythe is a wonderful and informative host. Highly recommended

The house was fantastic. The attention to detail was beautiful. From wood and kindling already stacked, to wildflowers throughout the space. Wonderful stay.

The red barn was a very enjoyable, quaint, rustic, and peaceful place to stay. The owner was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay, the local area and the well appointed kitchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the red barn in the Catskills. The cabin is set in a lovely yard with great chairs for lounging and a hammock. The inside is spacious and filled with very cool furniture. The owner provided a lot of information leading up to our visit and was always on call and very kind, even when I lost the key. There's lots of wildlife in the area. Ran into a couple of bears, baby turkeys and a gazillion chipmunks. It is a great hiking location up to Belleayre. Lots of great restaurants within a short drive. We will be back!

The red barn was exactly as described and perfect for a quick 2 day ski trip for our family. Blythe was so great at communicating and the location couldn’t be easier for Belleayre Mountain.

The Catskills Red Barn exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect place for our family of 4 to enjoy a long weekend in the mountains. The location was so close to Bellyeare Mountain and Margaretville. The attention to detail and the craftsmanship in the barn was so cool and we discovered stuff every time we looked around. Blythe was a wonderful host. The communication was so easy and our stay was without any problems. It was so great, we will absolutely be going back!

I stayed for a long weekend with my husband and dog and we really enjoyed our stay at the Red Barn. The whole space was lovely but nothing beat waking up in the morning to that beautiful window and view!
Blythe was also very communicative and helpful while we were there. We stayed for the weekend and hit unexpected rainy weather and Blythe warned us before we even realized.
I'd definitely stay here again and definitely recommend booking!

Relaxing and reenergizing
Nice and quaint! Loved the photos Howard had taken and displayed threw out the barn. We enjoyed our day skiing and the mountain right there! The night sky was unbelievably gorgeous. Seeing the star so bright from our bedroom window, left you with such peaceful feelings.

If we could leave 10 stars for all aspects we would. The property, owners and town were everything we expected and more. The red barn itself has is full of history and call items to explore, we stayed in doors most of the time. Howard restored most of it himself and there is a lot to discover inside, from books to paintings to game boards and electric features. Blythe was very accommodating and helpful giving us directions and recommendations. She even brought over blueberry muffins one morning which were amazing. The red barn has a nice light hiking trail accessible from the property which was super convenient and a nice option to take in the natural surroundings on a spontaneous whim. Towns near by are great, I recommend Phoenicia for local artistry and groceries and Woodstock for the novelty and more traditional brands and wears. All and all this we spent an extraordinarily and relaxing Thanksgiving giving weekend at the red barn and are looking forward to returning in summer for an entirely different experience.

We really loved our stay here. The house is beautiful, clean, and supplied with all kitchen essentials. Hosts are extremely nice and welcoming. I would look to stay there again.

An oasis of calm
The red barn sits at the end of a road on the edge a wooded area with hiking trails. If it is true what they say about the importance of: "location, location, location", the Catskills region would be a gem, but the Red Barn would be a very very rare diamond.
The barn itself, was built lovingly by Howard and Blythe. You could tell how much love he put into it when he greets you and gives you the tour. We brought two big dogs who were greeted with open arms as well.
At the end of the day, Howard and Blythe just want to share the experience of the beautiful outdoors and a carefully crafted barn with other people. It is a truly beautiful experience, all around.

Howard welcomed us into his little slice of heaven and we are forever grateful to have shared this space. Everything from the interior of the barn to the outside private space, this really made us feel at home. Then there is the side entrance right onto a trail and right into nature! It was all just so wonderful.
The dog had the best time out of the three of us!

Great weekend getaway
Great weekend getaway and truly wonderful hosts who made sure that we had everything needed and even drove me to the ski slopes! The only thing I would say is that the stairs getting up to the master bedroom loft are quite steep and not suitable for little ones (our dog was even scared to go up and down).

Charming
We loved the rustic charm of the barn and the hospitality of Howard. The kids loved their room! All of the games and books and no TV was a joyous welcome. We were able to spend quality time as a family. It was also very convenient to Belleayre Mountain. We will definitely stay again if we visit the area in the future!

Charming, warm, private and right next to Belleayre!
We had a lovely stay at the Red Barn. The host is very friendly and helpful and will give you a full tour of the house and property when you arrive. The barn and the area are rich in history, but the accommodations are updated perfectly to reflect time and history, but also be very comfortable. There are enough games and puzzles provided to keep families very happy, too! Skiing at Belleayre couldn't be more convenient and the host provides vouchers to defer the lift ticket costs.

Absolutely amazing
Tucked into a dead end a piece of paradise. Artistically decorated quiet and peaceful but close enough to entertainment of all sorts . Cross country trails right outsideback gate. A stunning master bedroom overlooking this gorgeous area. If you like to cook in a fully equipped kitchen . Only thing not there is a dishwasher- thats what hands are for!
The hosts are true hosts in every sense of the word. They made us feel very at home from the time we walked in the door with my beautiful golden retriever who would rather be outdoors than anywhere. This was the perfect place for him.i hesitate to write this review as I want to go back soon and I would have liked to keep this great place a secret

Top notch accommodations, hospitality, and superb hosts!
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at the “Red Barn”. The hospitality from the hosts, Howard & Blythe, was amazing!...from the warm welcome greeting and treats to all the wonderful tips on the surrounding area, they made our stay outstanding! We can’t say enough terrific things about the place, accommodations and location. We will definite be back!
