Lovely hosts in an understated but beautiful boutique hotel. Excellent location, and the owner will even help you park your car! Allowed us to check in early, and even upgraded our room
It's not a brand new Four Seasons Hotel, so it doesn't have many extras. But honestly, it's a lovely unique Albania hotel experience.

Historic house with well-decorated interior and beautiful courtyard/terrace with the view.
The terrace, where the breakfast was served, was marvelous with such a breathtaking view from the new town.
Delicious breakfast with a lot of dishes we could try.
Only a few minutes walk up to the city center, this was a perfect location.
The family that runs this place was very friendly and helpful.
It was quite a lovely stay.

The family that runs this place is so lovely. The host has a genuine love of sharing his knowledge of Gjirokaster. When I complimented the exquisite antiques that decorate the inn and mentioned the antiques at the market were too expensive, he directed me to a flea market instead that was very much for locals. The breakfast was delightful and complimentary, the rooms were painstakingly restored to show us what a traditional Albanian home was like. To top it all off, I could not imagine a more beautiful veranda with grape vines shading us, charmingly decorated tables, and the perfect view of beautiful Gjirokaster to delight us as we dined. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was impeccable as the host served us our choice of coffee. Two charming cats also live there, though they only pay the guests attention if there's food!
This is more our own doing, but we kept the windows open all night and there was a cacophony of neighbourhood cats mating and roosters crowing in the wee hours. We should have just closed the windows and turned on the AC.

This is the place if you want a real treat. Staff welcomed us warmly into their beautiful courtyard. Our jaws dropped as we saw the view and our room. Everything was thoughtfully there for us in our room and it was so clean and relaxing. We stayed in the large deluxe room as we were a family of four. Our two boys loved it and so did we, it was a stunning room.
Breakfast couldn’t have been more delicious with fresh pancakes and omelettes, sitting in the courtyard with the view.
Only a short 3 minute walk up to the town, this was a perfect location. In the evening we went back to the hotel where we bought a bottle of wine and relaxed in the courtyard again.
I couldn’t fault this hotel at all. It was magical.

incredible historic tower house building. amazing staff that ran to the copy shop to print our boarding passes in time! great location right next to the old city but far enough away that it‘s calm. terrace has view of the entire castle - great for an hour or two after dinner with a cold elbar in hand!
nothing, didn‘t have anything to criticize

Excellent location very near the old town's center but in a quiet neighborhood. Nice little garden, very helpful owner and family. Friendly atmosphere. Breakfast in the garden. Thank you Konstantin for all the useful information about the area! We will be back!
Although we were given a nice room it was not the one we had booked which had painted decorations on the walls and fireplace.

The rooms are beautiful, offering a chance to see the unique Albanian decor of the area, especially the fireplaces. The hosts were all very friendly and communicative and the breakfast was generous and served in a glorious setting

The room and the terrace
One of the beds had a foam mattress but we understand they did us the favour of putting and extra bed in the room

This was the best stay we had on our three week trip! Everything about the property is fantastic. The rooms are beautiful and large. You won't even feel like you need to tour the traditional homes in town because you are living in one. The location is excellent because you are within walking distance to everything, without being in the middle of everything. Most importantly, the family who runs it are so kind and hospitable! They went over the top to make us feel welcome and to help us with anything we needed. The breakfast each morning was amazing and we would look forward to eating it on the terrace overlooking the mountains. This is the only place we will ever stay at in Gjirokaster.
We have no complaints - we only wish we could have stayed longer!

Lovely hotel!
It was a challenge to reach by car in the small winding streets but we contacted the owner and he sent his son to come to our help. Parking in front of the property (included).
Really great room and decoration, loved the style. Very clean and comfy.
Breakfast was included and was great .
Lovely staff and breathtaking view.

Well located -wonderful hosts -hotel has interesting history
Nothing -don’t follow google maps as it took us into v narrow areas-the main road to the bazaar is the way to get there

The nicest hosts you will meet. The owners really care about their guests and go out of their way to help you. They sat with us in the evening and gave us tips on where to go and even helped us stop the local bus and put our suitcases on.
Not their fault in any way but the hotel isn’t very soundproof. We also had a pigeon at our window from 5am making sounds.

We stayed in a large room with a historical interior, and it was simply stunningly beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent for exploring the city on foot. There are free parking spaces and a large paid parking lot near the hotel. The inner courtyard with a view is quite cozy, and it's very pleasant to have breakfast there. The breakfast itself was also quite good.

Beautifully arranged rooms in local style, with all facilities and very friendly host. As we got a free upgrade, our room featured even a decorative fireplace. The breakfast was tasty as well. They also kept a parking spot on the street for us, which we could keep until we left.

The hotel is absolutely immaculate & the family who run it are incredibly helpful & caring - right down to detailed travel advice that turned out to be brilliant!
We chose a standard double room that was slightly small, but that was down to us, not the hotel.

beautiful traditional Albanian rooms. Immaculate And comfortable. the breakfast was delicious- I especially loved the fried bread balls- and the view from the patio is beautiful. the staff is very friendly and welcoming. the location is very close to the bazaar and the castle.
it can be challenging to find the place by car. google maps will take you down narrow dead-end alleys. this is not the hotel’s fault, but be aware.

This is one of the most fascinating small boutique hotels we had ever stayed at.Ottoman style in a beautiful authentic modern update of the original houses here from the 1880's and you can compare yours with all the amenities to the old ones that are still in existence. All the important sights are within walking reach but be prepares as the old town is on the hills above the modern city. And yet one of the highlights among many highlights are the hosts ,the most delightful families we have ever met and a true Albanian experience in itself.Great breakfast, stunning rooms and views make this everything you would ever want.
That we can't live there!!!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Musee in Gjirokaster and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. The location of this hotel is simply perfect, as it is situated in the heart of the historical city center. This made it very easy for us to explore the city's famous attractions, such as the Gjirokaster Castle and the Skenduli House, without having to travel far.
What made our stay even more memorable was the hospitality of the owner. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and even gave us a free upgrade to a larger room. He also provided us with great tips on what to see in Gjirokaster and how to get around the city.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious and had a great variety of options. The food was fresh and served with care, making for a great start to our day.
Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Musee to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Gjirokaster. The location, friendly owner, and amazing breakfast all contribute to an unforgettable experience.
