This was my first visit to Qingdao and upon my arrival to the hotel, the staff was very warm, friendly and accommodating. Although there was a bit of a language barrier at first, we did manage to communicate well enough to finalize my reservation.
The room was very lovely and had a serene calmness to it. The facilities in general were a historian's dream as I literally felt like I was living in a museum (even just for a few days). The decor, wall photos / hangings and other relics walked you through a timeline of the former consulate giving you a sense of what it must've been like in the past. While several amenities have been upgraded, it still managed to preserve the "old" style.
The breakfast was nice and the fresh seasonal fruits were absolutely delicious and sweet! I enjoyed every morsel.
I really enjoyed the location as it was walking distance to several restaurants and scenic spots. You could easily enjoy a walking tour in the area and visit the many neighboring European-styled villas and walk over to the beach on the other side. The boardwalk was a nice stretch along the bathing beaches and a great backdrop for amazing photography.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Qingdao for a few days along the beach in a quiet, yet bustling tourist area.

In the Badaguan, position is great! Near the no.3 subway station.
None. All staffs are friendly and helpful.

Perfect location. Very close to the beach. Convenient to go back for a shower after kids play on the beach.
Small items need to be improved. E.g. one lamp had no bubble. Network TV is slow. Etc.

The food was very good. Definitely recommend. The location is convenient, and it takes 5 minutes to get to the beach.
A quiet and peaceful place to relax. The hotel is small with a good design.

Location… in the heart of Badaguan
Beds are very hard

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel is quite well designed and our room was spacious. The hotel is located within 500m of the beach, subway and bus, and it's in a historic area with many cafes and restaurants. It's a bit pricey but it is a unique place to spend a few nights. Light breakfast is provided.
My biggest issue is that it's NOT a No Smoking hotel. Whereas the room was okay (though there was a faint smell of smoke there too), many people smoked in the common rooms, including the breakfast area. The breakfast was pretty basic - two slices of white toast, two slices of spam, one fried egg, some cabbage and a few pieces of fruit. For what you pay, one would expect a bit more.

This hotel is located in a beautiful old villa in a green, quiet residential area, a few minutes’ walk to the sea. The villa has many of the old details like beautiful wooden floors. The rooms we had were spacious and clean and comfortable. It was fantastic to be able to sleep with open windows and feel the sea breeze. The front desk person in charge, Ayaj, was wonderful and extremely helpful in everything. We unfortunately do not speak Chinese, but we communicated via translation apps and this worked fine. He made sure we loved our breakfast and walked us to a covid-test centre nearby so we could comply with the covid-rules and test us on day1 and day3. We enjoyed staying in this hotel where history is taken care of and where you, as guests, feel welcome in a charming and personal way.

It's a beautiful historic building with friendly staff. The location is nice, close to Beach No. 2 and the Badaguan scenic area. The room's furniture was nice and practical, with a good wardrobe to truly unpack and store clothing. The terrace on the third floor, overlooking the bay, is a heavenly place for breakfast.
The beds were a little hard for non-Chinese guests; they have traditional mattresses. The family room was a little small for us and the bathroom was very small, with no clear separation between sink, toilet and shower (when someone showers, the whole room is wet). Breakfast was strongly encouraged to be between 7 and 8 am - a little early for us on vacation. There was no clear "American breakfast" menu (although the option is advertised) but the staff is happy to listen to suggestions for what suits the guests. It does make it a bit of a hassle when communicating wishes for parents and children, though.
This is not actually a hotel, but a "Minsu" (Homestay) - guests should expect more of a bed-and-breakfast atmosphere. Highly recommended for short stays in a historic ambience.

It was in a lovely location, quiet tree-lined streets. Close to coast, about 5-10mins walk. Room was very clean, kettle provided. House was beautiful with wood paneling, period furnishings in some shared rooms, they had kept the original feel of the place. Good atmosphere. Staff were very welcoming and obliging.
My language skills as having more Chinese would have helped conversations.

Quaint and homely.

Very peaceful, good location, friendly staff and big yard. Stayed with a 3 a year old daughter and she also enjoyed playing in the yard, dinning outside. Sauna in the room worked well, could even connect with my phone by Bluetooth and play my own music. Definitely coming back again. 😊

Very dedicated and friendly staff. He went out to get us a western style breakfast and provided us with extra water. Not a lot of guests due to Covid but we had a lovely stayed and felt very welcome as foreigners. The hotel was hosting a wedding and the staff offered us some treats. Location is walking distance from Badaguan district and the seaside. Very easy to find with Didi.
The mattress was traditional.

The location couldn’t be better, close to Badaguan, major tourist architecture buildings, the seaside board walk is 3 min walk away, as well as a nice city park. Close to metro. Most important, it is in a quiet location with few tourists. Breakfast is simple but healthy, nothing fancy but good enough for us. The place is good for older people taking easy and can walk near the seashore easily.
Not close to eateries - need to take a taxi to go to restaurants. There is a chef, I was told, but he left the hotel during our stay. The bathrooms are small and have no separate shower, so be prepared that water would wet the whole place.
