River in the Adirondack Region of Upstate New York. With easy access

dive into the crystal clean water. Wildlife of all species abounds in
its natural habitat unspoiled by intruders and protected forever by
the Adirondack Trust. It is truly a private, enchanting environment
and playland for a family vacation with something to do for everyone
and every interest.

Peaceful and quiet

Cute place that has everything you need. Total privacy and a great owner that was very helpful and not obtrusive. I wish I could spend the entire summer there. Thanks, Dave.

If you are looking for a little rustic, peaceful getaway, this is the spot. The cabin itself is quite old but offers all the things needed. The kids enjoyed the boats and fishing which was right there outside the door! The place could have been a bit cleaner in spots but nonetheless a nice place. The driveway should be mentioned as it was the worst part. The slope/incline is almost vertical, but our host assured us it was safe. Very scary, but we endured it several times and seemed to do ok! All n all. Nice place!

Nice quiet location. With nice view

I've seen another recent review that trashed the cabin, but I did not find the issues they noted. David was an excellent host. If you come expecting a rustic cabin and not something more, you'll be happy with your choice. (Oh, if you have a fear of steep driveways, or an aversion to wildlife, this isn't the place for you.)

We had such a great time on our trip! The cottage was perfect! We had everything we could possibly need, plenty of water sports to be had. The place was clean and very comfortable. Our teenagers loved it here too! Hope to come back in the future! It truly is a hidden gem!

This was our second time staying on the property and our first time in this cottage. We love it here! The waterfront is shared with the other cottage, and it is great for fishing, boating, and swimming. The property is a beautiful slice of nature while being a quick and easy drive to all the area’s attractions. David is an excellent host. He’s easily reachable, very friendly, and a great resource for information on the area. The cottage is comfortable and maintained with love. It was a great size for us (2 adults, 2 young kids). The fire pit is right on the edge of the water, which is perfect for s’mores in the evening. We also really enjoyed the picnic table on the back deck for outdoor breakfasts. We would absolutely stay here again, and hope to in the future!

A cozy cottage. Everything one could possibly need available. Fire starting material, dog run, coffee maker, all linens, hot shower, screen porch, TV, canoe, paddles, life jackets,…….. Private, on the edge of the river, beautiful view. We go for peaceful and quiet and that’s what we got. Host, David, available but unobtrusive. We brought our 60 # dog a young cat without difficulty. Close to stores and restaurants. Much enjoyed.

So I started writing this review and was stopped by 1500 charactors so will just have to get to the point. Driveway was scary and should have been described in listing. Sharing the outdoor area with another renter should have been noted. The pictures of the waterfront were lovely but, we were located in a cove of the water that was kinda gross. There was a swim area shown also but all the water was surrounded by wire fencing which was strange in order to use the water. Majority of the outdoor furniture was non useable with the exception of 4 new plastic chairs. Dirty and old, a swing that with closer inspection was a very old, extremely ripped cushion to the point that there was no actual fabic on the cushon and just shredded stuffing full of animal poop. Glad some family able to use two boats before we left because we were excited for that before we arrived. I did expect old and a "cabin". However it was dirty and really unacceptable. I immediately starting looking at hotels for us. Described as 3 bedroom, was not. Livingroom one of the bedrooms with a "sofa". Not a sofa, loveseat with a unbelievable dirty thin with stuffing desolved mattress. All beds very uncomfortable and second bedroom had trundle bed that once pulled out you have to climb over each other to get to sleeping area. Sheets, blankets, etc all thrown into a covered bench in balls. Fridge off, moldy, broken. Globs of hair in bathroom. Out of charactors to give full review. Beyond Annoying !!!

Absolutely love staying here. David is absolutely fantastic and our family looks forward to coming back every year.

A+!!
Host was very friendly and accommodating. Perfect and we plan to go back!

Rented the property for a few days just to get away. The lake was perfect for my two teenagers. Plenty to do and enough space for the three of us. The owner was very nice. The kitchen could use an update with some new pots and pans and if you’re tall you may hit your head. Had a good time.

If making memories in a beautiful & peaceful setting sounds appealing to you then this is the place! We loved using the kayaks, canoes and the row boat to get across the river, dock the boats and then explore the hiking trails. At night we made s’mores at the fire pit and watched the beaver across the way swim around. Can’t say enough great things about this camp & it’s beautiful, private surroundings. SPAC 30 minutes away with traffic. David made sure we had everything we needed and was very helpful. I hope to be back next summer!!!

Very much like the camp experience we wanted. Cozy, beautiful view, awesome to get out on the river with provided kayaks. Fantastic, relaxing evenings around the campfire.

Most relaxing vacation we've had. Loved seeing the beavers! Fishing was great. View was awesome. Even though the property is secluded, it was close to stores and activities like hiking trails, Saratoga racetrack, Lake George. David was great-helpful but not intrusive. Really loved this peaceful place.

Absolutely loved our stay! Everything was just as we expected. My 2 sons and I really enjoyed every moment. Everything you need to explore is right at your fingertips. Very remote and beautiful. David was great. Look forward to going back next year!

We have stayed at David Bogue's cabins 3 times. Very secluded area and David is one of the nicest people we have met. Look forward to the nest time we stay at one of his cabins.

Cute cottage in a great spot.
This is our 3rd summer coming back to upstate NY, our first stay in this cottage but not our first in one of the owner's properties. David makes check in very easy and makes you feel at home from the start. He is is always very responsive to any questions or issues should anything arise.

We will start our review by admitting we are somewhat reluctant to share this amazing property as we hope to book future dates and not have to fight for time at the Bogue cabins! David is a down right amazing host. Everything you need/want for a relaxing stay is made available to you. Location could not be better. The cabins overlook a peaceful section of the Hudson River by Big Bay. It is very close to the highway, which will take you to Lake George (2 exits) and all the Adirondack adventures you can fit into your stay. The Adirondack Winery recently opened a lovely tasting room right up the street! David has canoes, kayaks, rowboats, floaties on site for his guests, and provides wood for evening bonfires overlooking the river. The houses themselves are humble yet clean, cozy and inviting- very comfortable beds too! We could go on, but will leave it at that if you are looking for a convenient, peaceful getaway location in the Lake George region, get in line!

Fantastic place for a relaxing getaway
David is an amazing host! The property has everything you need for a perfect getaway.

A rustic cabin on the upper Hudson. Lots of boating and bonfires. A relaxing environment and plenty to do in the Glen Falls/Lake George region. Secluded and quiet, this is a get-away from it all type cabin. It is rustic, not luxurious which is what my family enjoys. Yes, the driveway is steep but it is soooo much fun to go up and down - if you like roller coasters. David is a wonderful host - responsive and accomodating. We had a wonderful weekend!

David was great and welcomed us with open arms. The area is beautiful. We fished, hiked and just relaxed. My 4 year old Son had a great time and is still talking about our trip. We will be back.
Thanks David!

We needed to get out of NYC and this was perfect! It’s a rustic little cabin but very clean and cozy. Be aware that for tall people, you are likely to bump your head on the short door frames! I (5’10”) only bumped the very first time but my husband (6’2”) had quite the bruise because he didn’t learn the first 10 times! The driveway is very steep and intimidating as you first come down, but there are tips on how to climb and descend upon arrival in the book left for renters. There is one other house on the property that is rented out. The people that happened to have reserved it when we were there had to leave due to an emergency, unfortunately, and we ended up with the entire area to ourselves. The whole time we only saw a gardener and a couple of boats, nothing else! We saw a beaver, turtles, frogs, dragonflies, butterflies, and plenty of crickets and grasshoppers. My city boys were so happy to explore the country for a few days and we loved not seeing another soul unless we had to. Also, the owner is amazing and has great stories. I’m sure you could sit and listen to him for days! But he will leave you be or chat with you as you’d like with no pressure, and probably bring his adorable dog when he does! The one con is the shower. The water smells of sulfur and the pressure is not good. With two extremely sensitive boys, they couldn’t handle the smell at all. But we felt a bit like we were roughing it and didn’t worry too much.
