We stayed at the “Serene Spicewood Lake House” recently and were very disappointed with the property with the following issues
• Dishwasher not draining
• Out of dishwasher soap but found some in front closet (that was unlocked).
• Counters, sticky, and dirty
• No water in the water the dispenser by the stairs
• Iron, but no ironing board
• Two beds uncomfortably high
• Access to below almost not passable, with weeds and debris everywhere
• Downstairs TV sound is going out. Very tinny.
• Understand the lake is low but you need an additional note about drought conditions. It has not been a "lake” in years.
• The kitchen cabinets had been re-stained and yet showed above normal wear and tear on them. All the cabinets and drawers were in complete disarray. I even cleaned out the pantry because I could not find salt and pepper.
• Pictures not accurate. The web site ones must be years old. I have actual ones if needed for comparison
• Construction is evident under the house with equipment left there. With all the construction tape and work, how do you ensure the building is safe?
If the bedrooms and bathroom had not be acceptable (at best) we would have left without staying. With all that, we did not even want to touch the whirlpool.

Nicely situated house in a tranquil neighborhood with a gorgeous view. Perfect for a quiet girls weekend away.

The exterior of the home, and the hot tub had been neglected, I had to have the hot tub, cleaned and drained, because it had a brown fungus growing in it, I cleaned the back windows on the deck it had to be washed because it had spiders and spiderwebs, there is a swimming pool across the street, the owner had no access to it, I had to figure out the lockbox code so we could use it because the Colorado river below is on usable.

Absolutely no complaints. This stay was exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful location. Beautiful home. Would definitely rebook and recommend. The only comment I would pass along is the water access is not for the weak. Access was challenging but we were up for it.

We wanted to get away from Dallas for a couple days over spring break. This house was perfect!
The views were beautiful and the house was stocked with everything you could need (minus food) (stock up and bring it with you because the stores are a while away). The house was clean and comfortable.
We spent a day or two at the house just hanging and playing games, and then went into Austin for a day.
We had a great time and would highly recommnend.

This house was just what the doctor ordered for our NYE get away! Our family of 5 had plenty to do (finishing was a hit, and the spicewood winery was amazing for the kids and parents!) and perfect panoramic views from the porch while we all relaxed in the hot tub. The owners were super responsive every time we reached out and these are accommodations we’d not only book again, but recommend to all our friends and family 😁

Spectacular View
Spectacular view, comfy beds, spectacular view! Property about 15-20 minute s to vineyards and restaurants. The home is equipped with everything you may need including board games, Amazon/Netflix, and kayaks/SUP that may keep teens entertained. Not family friendly for seniors/adults or toddlers descending down steep stairs (railing exists) and treacherous terrain to get to shore, but when get there, the view is beautiful, peaceful and surprisingly no boat traffic when we were there during the week. The property could use a little TLC with overgrown weeds near fire pit and replace rotted wood Adirondack chairs. Overall, it’s a serene and sound investment for a little R&R.

Beautiful house with beautiful views
The house was perfect for my family of 5. The views from the main living areas and deck were amazing. The house was clean and was stocked with everything we needed. The beds were comfy and the sheets and towels were soft. I’ve never stayed at a house managed by a company rather then the owners and I was a little worried about how easy it would be to communicate with them but it was very easy. They were very helpful throughout the process.

Review of Weekend Stay
The home is perfectly located and has everything you need for a weekend stay at the lake. The house is spacious and comfortable. The bedrooms are comfortable; however the two bedrooms share 1 bathroom which would be weird if you weren't family.
The most disappointing issue was that the house was not clean. It smelled very stale and musty and when we arrived there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. There was hardly any fuel in the gas grill tanks. The oven couldn't be used because the oven door didn't shut and had the warning sign "open door". There was a box of spilled candy in the pantry when we arrived and chip crumbs all over the utility and kitchen floor. The patio was full of dead bugs and cob webs like it hadn't been cleaned.
The photo when we rented show nice couches and outdoor seating but it was not the case. There were benches along the perimeter of the deck and a large dining table for eating but no comfortable seating.
I would rent this home again but it needs a thorough cleaning and the photos need to be representative of what the house really looks like.

Great view
Overall it was a good stay. Not as clean as i expected it to be. The view was amazing, the downfall was going down to the lake. Its ideal for young people but not for older people or little kids since the steps have no railing to hold onto. We saw a few deer and our kids really loved it.

Spring break getaway
This house was very clean. Great location with lake access.
Close to parks - we were able to cycle straight from the house to Muleshoe park and mountain bike. Zip-lining only 5-10 minutes car ride away.

Location was awesome! We saw sooo many deer just walking around the neighborhood in the mornings and evenings. Views from the deck and living area was perfect.

Relaxing Weekend
My girlfriends and I had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying the view of the lake. The hot tub was perfect and just what we needed for a girls weekend. It was close to the Stone House and Spicewood Wineries and the Iron Wolf distillery which were all beautiful and so much fun! Would definitely recommend a weekend trip here!

What a view!
The property was perfect for our bachelorette party weekend. The view was amazing and the house was spacious enough for all 8 of us. Kevin was quick to respond to any questions or request I had and was very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice break!
Overall, the property was very nice. The beds were comfortable, the view was spectacular, and the living space was inviting. We had a few bumps though. First, there was a bird in the house when we arrived; it it took a long time for them to come and deal with it which included a lot of communication back and forth primarily initiated by me. Also, there were birds and/or bats in the chimney that made a lot of noise. This was not addressed during our 3 night stay. In addition the hot tub did not work. Unfortunately, this was one of the main factors in us choosing this property over another. We did not discover this until the last night though. Finally, there was no extra toilet paper and only two washcloths in the entire house. We enjoyed our stay, but had hoped for fewer complications on our trip.

Could have been mowed
The pictures of the outside are not reliable. The property had not been mowed or taken care of in every long time. The path to the lake was so overgrown we had to cut it down ourselves. The path is very steep . The yard was overgrown and tall weeds lined the steps from the house to the lake. The porch was extremely dirty and was covered in wasp nests and the furniture was disgusting, I had to hose off the whole porch and we had to buy wasp spray so we could sit outside. The trash bin outside was already full when we arrived and so we had to smell that all week. The week before we arrived a storm had done some damage to the back porch and blown the sheet iron off of the porch and it was covering the path to the lake, we had to move all of it even though the owners knew about the damage. The inside of the house is spacious and the pictures online are accurate for the inside.

Lakehouse Getaway
Home was very nice and view was amazing. Would have like an easier path to access lake, but can definitely tell that outside remodel was in the process to create walkway. Would definitely stay again.

Lake Travis Vacation
The view from this houses is truly gorgeous. The home is beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked. On the day we arrived a storm came through while we were away getting groceries and tore the roof off of the patio and blew some water in to the house. Luckily that was the only damage. We cleaned up the water inside and straightened up the deck. It did take 2 days for the parts of the roof that blew into the street and lodged in a tree above the front entry way to be cleared away. It would have been better if it was cleared sooner since we had to walk under a section of suspended roofing to get to our vehicle. But we do understand that Mother Nature can’t be controlled. This property is extremely peaceful. We brought our kayaks and our floating Lilly pad and had a great time at the late. We were allowed to check out late also which was great. It’s a little odd that there is no real master bedroom, just 2 rooms with 2 beds. But we knew that when we rented it. The beautiful home, awesome location, and stunning view did not disappoint.

Our Wonderful Birthday Extravaganza
We arrived from Fort Worth and Austin with my sister, 2 nieces, and 4 friends to celebrate our 4 birthdays together. The weather was perfect and the house was great!!!!! Sat out on the porch and played games and laughed and talked all day. Had a beautiful meal then the Hot Tub! The whole weekend was perfect and will always have a wonderful memory of the Serene Lakehouse!!!!!!

The property was very nice and fit our needs
This was home base for our trip as we explored all over Texas and it was perfect. The hot tub was a perfect end to the day. I think if I had anything to say that needed to be addressed would be having some towels for the hot tub and the water pressure in the downstairs bathroom... It was very hard to rinse shampoo out of your hair. Our WiFi did completely cut out halfway through our stay but since we weren't here too much it really was fine.

Nice View
We had a girls weekend and did the wicked wine run at the spicewood vineyards which wasn't to far away. The house was great and had an awesome view. It was perfect for our stay.

Beautiful home with beautiful view!
We had a group of friends stay here for the weekend. The house is perfect for relaxing and taking in the views. It is a bit far from things, but we were okay with that. My only complaints were the kitchen could have been stocked a little better (baking sheets, scissors, dish towels) and we did have difficulties locking the front door (but did eventually get it to lock). Other than that, the house was perfect- I would love to stay there again!
