The Jail was very interesting and lots of history to it. Was very interesting sleeping in the jail that was occupied by the boer Anglo war veterans. That was very interesting and I would recommend all to e xperience it
The room was very hot, work and the taps in the shower were cold. So that was a big disappointmen. Must Insrall aircom and the mozzie were very bad

The concept of repurposing a former jail into accommodation is undeniably unique, and the execution of it has been really well done. The historical charm and authenticity of the jail setting are undeniable, each room has a different name and setting but the immersive vibe is all the same. The architecture and design retain an intriguing blend of old-world charm and modern convenience. The cells, converted into guest rooms, provide an interesting glimpse into the past, offering an experience that differs significantly from conventional accommodations. The staff at Vyfster Jail Accommodation also deserve credit for their efforts to create a welcoming environment. The check-in process was efficient, and the staff member we met was friendly and accommodating.
The shared rooms, while clean, are inherently small due to their original purpose. This can be a limiting factor for guests seeking more spacious and open lodgings. Additionally, the lack of windows in some rooms may contribute to a slightly claustrophobic atmosphere, as it gets incredibly hot. Although fans are provided, which were a great help. The bathrooms are also open, no doors but coverings are provided. This Accommodation is an intriguing choice for travelers seeking a unique, alternative and historically rich experience.

It was an interesting experience sleeping in an old jail and we enjoyed the rooms. We slept in Cell 4 and the Interrogation room. Very clean and comfortable facilities.
There was not really anything I didn't like.
9.0
Convenient location, and very neatly done-up room. Clean with good facilities.
No fault of the owner at all, but just be aware that the room doesn't have a window, so a fan and aircon are provided. Downside is that they switch off with loadshedding, so the room does become very stuffy. Also means that the mosquitoes have free reign to attack, which they did. Pack in bug spray.

Very interesting place. Love architecture and design. Unique and different. Staff attentive and friendly.
Not the greatest part of town.

It was a very interesting experience staying in the buildings of the old jail. The buildings have been nicely renovated and although there is still work in progress it did not impact on my stay. Apple Maps unfortunately have the incorrect coordinates for the property so I got a bit lost but on calling the host, I received a pin and after that, got there with no difficulty. Upon arrival, I was met by Eldien who was very friendly and obliging and got me settled in. I will stay there again on my return journey.
It is not situated in the nicest part of town but is sufficiently private for it not to matter.

the Host was very friendly and helpful.
arranged for people to assist us with a flat tyre upon arrival and stayed with us the whole time the repair took place.

Clean and neat as a pin
Location was scary with poor begging children running around

An inverter to run the fan and aircon during loadshedding. it would have been the last touch to make for a very comfortable stay. It was VERY hot in the room even at night.

Love the history of it
We arrived during a heatwave of 40+ degrees, the aircon needed a bit more power

It was Clean
People across the road played very loud music till early hours.
There was no coffee or tea. No sugar or Creamers. One would expect to have this available.
