Really comfortable and quiet! Kitchen was well equipped.

The bed was SUPER comfortable with plenty of very warm blankets.
It was in a beautiful, quiet area outside of but still very close to town.
There were horses and a cat! (If you are allergic, you may wanna keep this in mind as the cat comes in and out).
Free washer and dryer services.
Everything was very well labeled and e-mail communication was very detailed and thorough.
This was more of an airbnb, rather than a hostel. Only 3 individual rooms. So, if you are looking for the social aspect, you won't find it here.
No staff on-site for questions or problems.
I don't inherently expect free food or products from a hostel. That being said, if it is going to be advertised, it should be provided and kept up with. This was a selling point for me when booking and when I arrived, I found that the free things offered were actually just remnants of things other travelers had left. The free "food" consisted of bags of rice, cooking bread crumbs, an almost empty bag of flour, and a box of horribly crushed and SUPER expired granola and graham crackers. Nothing you could actually have a meal or even a snack out of and all very old, almost empty, and/or expired. The free shampoo was non-existent and the bathroom products for guest use in general were community use things one would NOT want to share such as a single razor and used deoderant. What little toilet paper there was ran out and there was no more of it.
The couple who do the cleaning were finishing up as I arrived before vacating the premises altogether. No worries about them still working on the room (I had been notified in advance about this). However, the gentleman wouldn't even look at, much less speak to, me and the lady, while nice enough, was very openly religious, so if that bothers you, be informed.
There were a TON of games (pro), but no one to actually play them with.
Disposing of trash was made a bit more complicated than necessary, with VERY specific bins for VERY specific things.

Great price for a room for myself. Being able to use the kitchen. Felt like a home.
Location is far from Crescent city. Certainly not walkable.

I loved the bed and location
someone in the building was really noisy at night from 1am to 6am or so. They woke me up many times.

I liked how Randall was there to greet me and how he shared his knowledge about the area and the restaurants. He gave a thorough tour of the house and what it had. He kept things meticulously clean. I liked the quietness in the country. Loved the low price.

the location is close to the lake, a very quiet area, and the host is very helpful and welcoming.
nothing

You provide all your own food so breakfast is not included but there is tea and a few meal items there if you forget to bring something. It's a no frills place but it's very accommodating and the host is very nice.
It's a shared bathroom so be advised. I was really close to it so I never was in a situation where I couldn't access the bathroom. The only thing I would have thought would be nice was a way to heat it because it was pretty cool in there.
Everything was super immaculate and there was plenty of soap and shampoo for anyone.

the price and quiet location
This is a rundown 3 bedroom house that is being run as a "hostel." There are generally 2 bedrooms available for guests and the living room is considered the "dorm" with a bed shielded by a screen for whoever is staying there. When I was there, the owner was not around, and management was left to someone simply staying there long-term.
The place was shabby and fairly dirty. I understand they lost their housekeeper, but that's no excuse for filthy kitchen sponges (and no clean ones available), no paper towels, and a continued requirement to remove one's shoes even though the floors were quite dirty.
Although a quiet area north of town, it is down the road from the maximum security prison.

Staff was very friendly and it was quite an experience.
The place is a mess and is falling apart: a somewhat cleaner person then me would propably commit suicide. There are two permament Residents there that do not see it as their task to clean up a bit. I was called the new cleaner by them because i could not leave the kitchen in this condition. One of the residents has a medical condition that makes him cough and moan all the times and the walls are very thin. I did sleep in the living room, which has no door but is an open space.

The other guests were kind of wired.
There was an ant trail in the room.

Nice friendly staff, amenities of home, laundry on site. Very comfortable bed.
I had a sweet treat that I brought. In the late night, I brought it in my room to eat, and the rest of my stay and that night especially, I was swarmed by ants! It was terrible. That, however, was the biggest issue by fat. Everything else was tolerable.

Yard, kitchen, bed, bathtub, price, quiet area except for guns shooting wild game early morning
staff, coughing long-term guests, no masks, toilet dirty, noisy , intrusive onsite manager, poor relationship between long-term guests and onsite manager, one bathroom for all guests, cheap furniture, cheap wornout bedroom curtains and bedding, harsh chemical detergents, no means of sanitizing dishes and cutlery no dishwasher, no sign of bleach for kitchen area, very old unsanitary kitchen sponges and scrubbers, bright outside lights shining into bedroom , guns early morning shooting wild game, very small refrigerator space, ant infestation

Quiet place. Friendly gal runs the place.

I loved going to the end of the road and just hanging out in the wildlife area.
The room with the screen provided personal privacy from the rest of the. House.
For a house with six people sharing one bathroom it was very very clean,
The walls were not sound proof and I could hear the man near door snoring. Plus the room was right off the kitchen so early morning people sounds were amplified,
