PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION. This Moosehead Lake log home is a year round direct waterfront home with easy lake access. There are western panoramic views of the lake and mountains from inside, outside and lakeside plus a dock area for canoes, kayaks or swimming. This home features three comfortable bedrooms, i.e., one king size bed, one queen size bed, one full size bed, a full size futon sleeping loft, two full baths, living room, sunroom, a fully equipped kitchen and large garage. Linens and towels are provided. It is a secluded, quiet getaway vacation home that will exceed your expectations yet is still within walking distance of all of the amenities the quaint destination Town of Greenville has to offer.

Sundown was the perfect spot for our family to get away before school starts up again. They house was perfect for our family of 5. We loved the sunroom and the view from the dock. It was close enough to town, but also private and peaceful. Kim was great about communicating. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a great stay!

This was our second year staying at Sundown and we had such an incredible time. Kim & Jim are truly the kindest hosts I've ever had the pleasure of renting from and I cannot thank them enough for their generous hospitality. The house is extremely clean, well taken care of and has all the things you could possibly need for a nice retreat on the lake! You can definitely feel the love and care that is poured into the home and the landscape. I absolutely love looking at all the flowers and taking in all the garden has to offer. Puzzles in the sunroom, playing corn hole and grilling, and sitting at the dock while listening to the loons are just a few things that make the time here so special. You truly do not need much as the location, stunning views and all that Sundown offers is nothing short of thoughtful. It truly has become such a special place to us and I can only imagine how serene it would be in the winter. We cannot wait to return and to continue to make so many more memories at Moosehead Lake.

Sundown on Moosehead was very comfortable and had a beautiful view of Moosehead Lake. The sunroom was a favorite spot, with windows all around and a great place to watch the lake and listen to the loons.The landscaping of the property was amazing, and it was a lovely walk from the house down to the dock. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The location was excellent, very close to the town of Greenville and to a state park, hikes, waterfalls, and kayaking.

My family and I spent our February vacation at Sundown ice fishing. The cabin/property was excellent! There was plenty of room to maneuver and park two trailers, which is always a relief. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, and the lake is easy to access. It was only a five minute drive into town to grab supplies or grab a bite to eat. The host was very kind and accommodating. I would highly recommend it!

The location gave us easy access to the lake, Greenville and all the local hiking, biking and exploring we could want. The home is clean, well appointed, very comfortable and has a great layout. We wish we could have stayed a couple more nights; the 2 small docks are really nice to relax at. We rented a pontoon boat at Captain Rogers one day to go tubing & explore the north lake and Kineo area. The loop hike at little moose & big moose ponds is excellent—took about 2 hours. We also went canoeing at Hinkley Cove/2nd roach pond. Great takeout from Jamos store back at the house was nice and enjoining the sunsets. Thank you for making your property available!!

What a view! From the deck on the water to the sun room above, we enjoyed a magnificent water view. We watched sea planes and boats come and go. We enjoyed swimming right off the deck, boating and fishing at the state park. We found great souvenirs at the shops nearby and enjoyed evening meals at the cabin and local restaurants.

From the minute we stepped on to this property, we were impressed. It is impeccably clean and was a great layout for our family of five. You could have easily slept a few more people. The beds and furniture were extremely comfortable. We spent most of our time outside and in the fantastic sunroom, which has large slider doors turning it into a fancy screen room when they are open. The views of the lake and mountains from this room are incredible. The yard down to the lake is beautifully landscaped, and my favorite part was the dock area, where we spent afternoons having happy hour with the loons. The dock area has two parts. One part is great for storing and getting into boats. We rented two paddleboards from Northwoods outfitters and brought our kayaks. The other part of the dock has a bench swing and a sitting area with stairs that lead into the water, making the lake very accessible for swimming. Kim, the owner, did recommend that we bring water shoes for swimming and I do think that was helpful. We absolutely loved this place so much that we had a hard time leaving it to explore other parts of Moosehead. I definitely will rent here again. Next time for much longer! Kim and Jim are so warm and welcoming and very easy to communicate with. They truly want you to have a wonderful time. I can’t say enough good things about this place!

This stay was truly something special and I cannot mention enough how wonderful Kim and Jim are! I booked Sundown for a girls weekend and it was a trip we will all remember. Despite the last month of rain we've endured, we had such a beautiful time on lake. We were able to swim and cherish all the joys of being in the water and equally enjoyed looking out on the lake during the scattered rain showers. The house is very clean and well taken care of, you can truly feel the love put inside taking care of the home. They had everything you needed inside the home as well as some exciting perks - cornhole & a grill! The enclosed patio with a large dining table was perfect for puzzles and enjoying meals together. The only complaint I have is not having more time here!! The location is perfect as you are very close to town as well as all the scenic attractions. Kim was an absolute delight and only showed kindness and compassion through our entire interaction. The hospitality and all that came with this stay made to be an oasis and home away from home! Out of the 5 years I've spent on a weekend trip to Moosehead, this was truly the best and we can't wait to return!

What a beautiful, comfy, cozy log cabin with an amazing view right on Moosehead Lake !
The cabin was VERY clean and well taken care of … the beds were amazingly comfortable 😴, the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked including firewood for the wood stove ! Everything about this beautiful cabin felt like home ! The owner Kim was so helpful and CARING ❤️ she genuinely cared and wanted us to have a wonderful vacation .making sure we had everything we needed and offered many extras on the property .
We were there to snowmobile and the access to the lake right from the property was great ! It was so nice coming back to the cozy cabin after riding all day ! Town was just minutes away to drive to restaurants for dinner . Thank you Kim and Jim for opening up your incredibly beautiful piece of Heaven on the lake to share with us !!

My wife and I rented this property with some friends for a quiet, new years getaway. We got exactly what we were looking for. The view from all season deck was amazing as we ate and played board games while staring at a frozen lake and mountains. We had a very relaxing and refreshing time.

Let me start off by saying that Kim is a wonderful and caring person! Thank you for sharing your bit of paradise with us ❤️. The house is exactly as advertised, 2 bedrooms facing the lake (1 king, 1 queen), thats all we needed, but there is another bedroom and a bed in the loft, could comfortably fit 8 adults. We did not want for anything, everything was already there.
We (my husband and parents) stayed at Sundown for 6 nights. Went kayaking right from the pier, took the ferry in Rockwood to Mt Kineo for a hike (even the bridle trail was difficult), ventured over to Baxter state park (dirt roads), hiked some of Gulf Hagas and on the 1 rainyish day took a walk thriugh the woods to check out the B52 crash site.
Being close (but not too close) to town made things much easier, ice cream at the dairy bar, dinner at dockside, Kelly's landing and a pizza pick up at Jamos was SO convenient. We found that the Mud Puddle had exactly what we were looking for in tshirts and sweatshirts.
Overall, we had an outstanding vacation, thanks again Kim!

A group of women I used to work with and I started going to Moosehead over 20 years ago for Girl's Weekend. 3 years ago the place we always went was no longer available and we have floundered to find a new spot. Sundown on Moosehead felt like coming back to the lake!
Sundown is a beautiful, rustic log cabin with all the comforts of home. There is plenty of space inside with a nice deck looking out on the water. The cabin sits up away from the lake providing a great view as planes take off and splash down. We had great sunsets each night and enjoyed watching hummingbirds out the kitchen window.
We swam and played games on the deck and did facials and listened to music and laughed. Thank you Kim and Jim for sharing your piece of northern Maine paradise!

This was our 2nd year staying here with friends at this beautiful home on the lake. We had such warm weather this year we spent most of our time in the lake swimming, floating or kayaking from right in front of the house. We loved hearing the loons every day, and we were treated to a couple of eagle sightings and the sunset views were amazing. We hope to return again in the future!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The views of the lake from the doc were spectacular. The house was spacious and spotless. Property is minutes from the downtown Greenville area. I appreciated the communication with Kim all throughout the booking process and our stay. We plan on coming back in the fall to see the colors and we will check with Kim to see if her property is available.

Beautiful and full of Adventure
We had the most fantastic vacation June 13-20, 2022. This property has everything you need and the most beautiful views of Moosehead Lake.
Kim is a wonderful host, providing clear and detailed information throughout the entire process beginning to end. She was very responsive to my questions and helpful in so many ways.
The house is only about 2 miles to the town of Greenville which has several wonderful restaurants and offers numerous activities. Indian Hill Trading post is the local grocery store and has some of the nicest people working there.
We spent our time hiking including Moxie Falls and the very challenging but rewarding hike to the top of Mt. Kineo. We rode ATVs and a seaplane and went searching for Moose!
We only had one day that was a complete washout due to heavy rain and winds but it paid off when the sky cleared just as the sun was going down and provided us with the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen.
I would highly recommend Moosehead Lake and this property and hope to visit again!

Paradise in Maine
Moosehead Lake is one of the most beautiful places in Maine. We chose to stay in the "Sundown on Moosehead Lake" which is an exceptional luxury cabin home. There are 3 nice bedrooms with very comfortable beds and another comfy bed in a spacious loft/sitting area. There is a woodstove in the living room so we were able to enjoy a couple of nice wood fires. There is a gorgeous sunroom that offers one of the most stunning views of the lake facing west. The mornings are beautiful and the sunsets in the evening are incredible. Moosehead Lake is even beautiful on cloudy days. Absolutely mesmerizing view! God's handiwork at best! Great place for morning coffee or for reading a book. The home is furnished with everything you need and it is very easy to find. The hosts, Kim and Jim are so kind and helpful! The instructions on how to get there and access the home are excellent. There is a book that is informative of Greenville and the surrounding area. The hosts were communicative, supportive, and understanding. One night the power went out briefly during a storm. The home has a Generac which kicked on immediately. Kim texted to make sure we were ok and to let us know when the power would be back on. They genuinely care about their guests and they want you to have a great time which we did. We drove down to Belfast and Camden one day and explored Acadia on another day. We had a wild moose watching tour with Harold King of Moosehead Area Guide Services. So much fun and yes, we saw plenty of wildlife! Greenville is an adorable town with nice shops and good restaurants. The locals are very friendly. It was fun exploring different places, and so great to come back to our lovely cabin home in the evening. I highly recommend this property! It is 10 stars plus!!! Special thanks to Kim and Jim for sharing their paradise on Earth.

A long weekend at Kim's cozy cabin
We absolutely LOVED this place, the views, the accommodations, the two baths, 3 beds w/ loft, and all of Kim's precise instructions of the home and its use was extremely helpful coming from Maryland. The local town is only about a 5 minute drive from the cabin to grocery stores, outfitters, gift shops, taverns, etc.
Kim was accessible during the day if we had Q's and/or to verify anything about the home; even though it was not necessary to get right back to me. She made our stay convenient for our family, which made our time there so relaxing! It has a great vibe, and having the snowmobile path so accessible to the lake right from the driveway made is so safe and convenient for us!
You could tell how the maintenance, cleanliness, and care of this home is a priority for the owners-- they put a lot of LOVE and pride into their place. We were so grateful to have a safe, clean, and well-appointed home for our family while we spent the weekend snowmobiling, ice fishing, cooking, and catching up with our family; we just needed more time to do it. Next time we will! I can appreciate a tidy, well-accommodating home, too, since my family has been regular vacation home renters starting around 1998.
We cannot wait to come back to this gorgeous home, and highly recommend that folks have a chance to stay here to enjoy the beautiful views of Moosehead Lake, all of the warm comforts of this cozy cabin, warm blankets, comfy beds, pillows, and just the ample space for a family of 8. Kim went out of her way to make our stay most comfortable, relaxing, easy and accommodated when we had Q's and/or needed any further clarification, via text; she always was friendly, communicated quickly & thoroughly and got right back to me.

Delightful time on Moosehead Lake
My brother, his wife and I spent three days at this beautiful, peaceful property. The owner did everything possible to make us feel welcome and cared about. Kim is a delight making sure our every need was met, our every question answered promptly. It is obvious that she cares deeply for this lovely place and has kept it clean, well organized and fully supplied. The view from the sun room is spectacular. The lake, the surroundings mountains and during our stay, the blazing autumn colors reflected in the water were simply breathtaking!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the wet weather. The house is so cozy with the wood stove going that one feels completely at peace chatting or reading or simply gazing at the view.
The house is located in a very private setting but the town of Greenville is within a mile where one can find a number of good restaurants and interesting shops.

Weekend away with friends
We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Sundown. The cabin was just as it was pictured on the site. The open concept made it so easy to be comfortable and feel at home. And the lovely sunroom with those gorgeous views of the lake was where we spent most of our time. It was hot and humid when we arrived, but all the screen doors let the lake breezes flow throughout the space. No need for air conditioning. Of course, we went immediately to the lake. It is shallow at that part of the lake, so the water was wonderfully comfortable. However, the rocks are a bit slippery. Water shoes are a must. When you’re inside, you have everything you need in the kitchen for meals. There is also plenty of room to stretch out and read, play games, or just listen to the loons. The beds are very comfortable, and for two couples, the layout is perfect. We each had our own bedroom with those beautiful western views. We enjoyed everything about the place. It made our visit to Moosehead thoroughly delightful. Kim was a joy to work with from initial booking until the day we left. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality.

Even better than the photos!
We have rented a number of properties on Moosehead and this is one of our favorites. The home is beautiful with fabulous western lake views and sunsets. The bedrooms are much larger than the photos indicate and the beds are very, very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked. I appreciated how organized the home was, with lots of information about things to know about the house and things to do/see in the area. The property is private but convenient and close to town. There is a lovely dock area with a porch swing to watch the sunset. The water is very shallow in this area of the lake (and especially this year with the lake being down 18 inches) but fine for launching a kayak or floating in a tube. The host family is responsive and clearly love and take care of their home. We are grateful for another wonderful week on Moosehead!

Great Greenville Getaway
We just spent a week with our friends at this lovely home with beautiful views of the lake. We were very comfortable (the beds are great!) and the house had everything we needed. When we stayed in for meals, we alternated between eating outside on the deck, or on the sun porch with the sliders open – looking at the lake and listening to the loons.
We had mostly good weather and were treated to several gorgeous sunsets. We brought our kayaks and could put in right in front of the house. The house is walking distance to town, and yet you feel like you are at a private cabin in the woods. The owner, Kim, was very friendly, easy to communicate with, and quick to respond to the few questions we had.

You better clean the while house like it was before you leave, even though you pay a large cleaning fee. Owner made up things that were wrong and Owner charged an extra money for cleaning fee( so she said). Would not stay there again! Lots of paper work before renting was a hase.Never ever had a problem renting from anyone. No thank you!
