Our region teems with wildlife and affords hunters a vast amount of terrain in which to spend a few hours, a day or a week. This house is awesome! Plenty of room, solidly built, perfect central location. Well equipped kitchen, would benefit from appliance upgrade. Beds comfortable, kayaks great with many life jackets. Large yard, quiet neighborhood. Yes, the access to the river is a bit steep but there are stairs and a nice dock. Lisa and Charlie very helpful, rent it you won’t be disappointed

Snowmobile get away.
First of all. Chuck was outstanding. Call the day we arrived and ask if everything was OK. Then a couple days later he called again and ask The snowmobiling was. He really went out of his way to make sure I stay was awesome. Can’t say enough about the loons nest. Comfortable spacious and very accessible to the snowmobile trails. We do plan on going back next year.

Gorgeous Winter Escape
We rented for what we thought was a snowmobile long weekend. It ended up not being enough snow - but we got to enjoy a beautiful winter wonderland the day before we left. The house was immaculate and full of anything we could have needed (kitchen was fully stocked) Charlie, the owner, was very kind and responded to any questions we had. It’s the perfect house for a family or a few friends looking to get away. The town is basically a winter sport hub so there is plenty to do if you want to venture off the property. We look forward to renting again throughout the seasons.

Best fall weekend!!!
I don't think there's even words to describe what we got to experience visually on our visit here the views are breath taking. The house is well equipped, beds are soft and clean and the house is perfect for a long or short stay. We got to walk right down to the water and that was amazing I would say the only thing that was a little hard to find were places to go and eat and everything did close fairly early. But we did end up eating both breakfast and dinner at the Relaxed Moose and that was a magical experience staff there make you feel at home but it is a little bit of a drive from the house to get to it but so worth it overall great family trip! No moose sightings though but hopefully next time .

Great Spot on Moose River
We had a great family stay at the Loons Nest. The owners were very accommodating and answered all our questions promptly. The kayaks were a bit hit with the kids and the house offered more room than we needed. The whole house generator was also a huge bonus when the entire town lost power for nearly an entire day. Our only beef was that the property had most likely been vacant for a while prior to our stay so was dusty with some dead bugs on the floors and countertops. Beds were not made prior to arrival but not sure if this is part of the normal procedure. Will definitely stay again, great place.

Ideal Place for Moosehead
Loon's Nest was perfect. All the amenities you could want are available. The owner called to make sure we arrived okay, and when we discovered one of the kayaks was missing had someone over to get his personal kayak from the storage area almost before I could hang up. Also, when we left a jacket they were kind enough to take it to a local lodge where we could pick it up out on our way back from Canada.

Great Vacation Home
Loved this property and the location was perfect for the group of 8 we had of children and adults. The available kayaks and life vests were perfect and used every day of our stay. The recently added AC was helpful as it was one of the warmest weeks of the summer. This is a great vacation home and everything is supplied and of great quality. It is clear the owners take pride in their home and ensure it meets the needs of their guests. Highly recommend this property we will come again.

The most relaxing vacation ever!!!
The property is very nice. It was clean when we arrived. Plenty of linens for everyone. I had questions for the owner previous to the vacation and she was always quick to answer. The husband called on our second day to make sure everything was good or to see if we needed anything. Had fun on the kayaks and canoe provided. The only thing was the pontoon boat offered for $280.00 a day was ok but the up keep on the pontoon boat wasn't very good. The seats seemed to be worn from weather, the canopy was torn and there was moss growing all over the boat.
Otherwise we had an amazing time and would rent here again!!!! So peaceful and a gorgeous house!!! We loved it!!! Thank you to the Sandbergs!!!!

Loons Nest was awesome!
We’ve been to Moosehead Lake and stayed on Moose River for the last 3 years. There is typically only 4 of us so we haven’t needed this size cabin before, but this year we brought the in-laws along to experience Maine! Loons Nest was perfect for the 6 of us. The cabin was wonderful and the owners (Lisa and Charlie) are in a league of their own! Charlie called us a week leading up to our trip, the day before we got there and midway though our stay just to ensure all our questions were answered, that we had everything we needed, etc. He even called around to make special arrangements for us to pick up my father-in-law at another property in case he couldn’t make it down to the dock to the pontoon boat. Previous years when we’ve stayed on the river, the stairs down to the dock are very long and steep and would not be an option for my in-laws... However at Loon’s Nest, the hike down the hill to the dock was manageable. Unlike the other cabins on that side of the river with really steep stairs to the dock, this was walking down a snake like path to a small amount of stairs. It was perfect for my elderly in-laws. The kayaks and canoe were big hits with the kids! With this being one of the hottest years, having AC was a life saver (upstairs and downstairs)! I also loved having access to the washer and dryer (previous years we didn’t have this in the other cabin we rented). We would highly recommend Loons Nest to anyone!!!

Wonderful Location
We had a quiet relaxing vacation at this property. Kayaking to Kineo, swimming, fishing, fire pit, huge yard for tent and outdoor yard games, daily walks, outdoor grilling , etc. We saw deer right on the property, moose down through Jackman. The only downfall to this vacation was going back to reality and work. I highly recommend if your looking for relaxation.

Very close to the water!
Myself and three friends stayed at this property for a few days and it was great. The property itself is rustic (log cabin decorated with an outdoors style) yet quite modern (several televisions and air conditioning). It was also very well kept. Things were clean and organized with many things provided such as basic cooking ingredients and even battery powered lanterns. But the best perk was the four included kayaks which we made good use of. They were located only a short walk away on the dock by the river, which opens to the large lake. Also the yard was quite big allowing for plenty of yard games such as frisbee. The local area seemed down to earth and polite including the owner and cleaning staff. It’s safe to say we would all recommend this property for your future stay in northern Maine.

Perfect Winter Getaway!
Our stay at the Loons Nest couldn't have been better! We just returned from an early March snowmobile trip and you just can't beat the location. The house is located a few hundred feet from Route 66 and also provides easy lake access at the end of the road. The driveway is plenty big for a 4 place trailer and more! Th house is well equiped and the open floor plan makes it a great place for friends to share meals and just hang out. The owners Charlie and Lisa are wonderful hosts and are available anytime if you have questions. As beautiful as it is in the winter I can only imagine how nice it must be in the summer. I highly recommend this home to anyone looking for an unforgettable stay at Moosehead Lake.! You will not be disappointed.
