Good vibes only!

Dieses Hostel ist einfach der Place to-be! Tolle Lage direkt am Meer, ein schöner Aufenthaltsraum, ganz viel Liebe zum Detail, richtig coole Leute und ganz viel Good Vibes überall. Es ist alles sehr sauber und die Pizza-und Burgernight ist einfach ein Traum. Alles hausgemacht, selten so etwas Gutes gegessen! Ricardo und Kaya geben einem wirklich ein "Zuhause" Gefühl. Danke für die wunderschöne Zeit bei euch:)

Die Hochbetten im 5-er Zimmer sind ein wenig instabil und es gibt nur zwei kleine Badezimmer für alle Gäste...ansonsten:alles top, ich komme sehr gerne wieder!

Es war eine schöne Atmosphäre und sehr gemütlich. Man konnte die Küche und die Kühlschränke mitnutze

Ich war im Hostel unter dem Dach. Es war schön on den Dachschrägen ein Bett zuhaben und einen Vorhang für Privatsphäre.

Es war kein abgeschlossener Raum und war direkt am Trepoenhsus. Es war sehr laut. Mein Bett war etwas durchgelegen.

Location was great! I felt very safe as a solo female traveler and everyone staying there was warm and welcoming.

There was no AC in the attic and the doors were open the entire time. Everyone was struggling with mosquitoes and getting bitten all night long. Also, there are only two shared bathrooms, so they were often in use and slightly dirty by the end of the day.

Absolutely beautiful hostel, really enjoyed my stay. Everything went well and the owner was very friendly and helpful. I self check in and there wasn’t any problem. I was staying in the 9 mixed room and I really appreciated the curtain that you have to have a little bit of privacy. Hope I will be back soon!

This is a great hostel! If you are looking for a hostel in Madeira STAY HERE. super friendly, clean, cute. Fabulous pizza night. Quiet at night. Fabulous hostel. About 20 min from airport. Next to a good bar/restaurant in a small village with trail running options. Small supermarket in village and bakery with great coffee. Surfing nearby and marine pool. We did a GREAT walk - the best of our trip from the hostel to machico (15km) - steep uphill to start then easy walking along coast and levadas. Definitely do this! Bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable! We had room 1 - ensuite with private terrace and good views. Shared area nice. Our host Ines was wonderful and made sure everyone was invited to the bar each night.

This is one of those SPECIAL, small, cosy hostels that you leave feeling like you are leaving family behind. Nothing bad. The kitchen is a bit small but that's it

Stay here, it's basically perfect

Such a friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk in. I think one of the best beers I've ever had? Super clean. Beds were comfy. Everybody staying there was so sweet and chatty, family vibes. The scenery nearby was beautiful. There are walks you can go on without having a car as well. Relaxed staff who made everything so easy (the surfing lessons through the hostel are great too!).

I left on Friday before I could try pizza night 😓 Also it would be useful to have maybe one or two mirrors somewhere in the rooms or corridors in case you want to put your contact lenses in or something when the bathroom is busy.

Solo traveler? Do yourself a favour and go to this hostel! (and also if you're not alone)

Going to this hostel feels like a homecoming after leaving home for holidays. The first thing you'll notice upon arrival is that you have to take your shoes off when you go inside. After that you'll either be welcomed by someone of the staff or other guests, who most likely are there for the same as you will be: adventure, hikes around the region, chilling at night. Jaca organizes various events such as Burger Mondays and Pizza Fridays which is attended by more than just the hostel guests, and has contacts for surf lessons, paragliding and more. For me it was an instant match with both staff and guests, everyone just wants to have fun and make the best possible experience together during the stay. I have no doubts where to stay when I go back to Madeira, which is just a matter of if, but when.

Public transport connections are limited, especially during the weekend. If you do not plan on renting a car, make sure to keep this in mind when planning activities outside of Porto da Cruz on Saturdays and Sundays.

absolutely everything - such a friendly environment in the most beautiful location. despite being so affordable it’s super super clean and it has everything u need. the hostel also offers burger/pizza nights as well as surf and yoga lessons :)

The atmosphere was quite good at the hostel. The people running it are very hospitable which sets the bar and enables the other guests. They provide opportunities for guests in terms of activities and shared meals. There is a large living room where it is possible to socialize. Kitchen has lots of equipment to make your own food. There is an outdoors patio. Restaurant next door.

The services they provide are quite pricey. Only two bathrooms. Would be nice if laundry was included, even if only one wash per week or something.

great location at the start of many trails, staff was awesome and had a lot planned (yoga, surfing, Xmas dinner, pizza night etc). great people stopped by here and easy to meet people. 100% would recommend

there should be blinds on the windows (private room overlooking the street). the local church has bells ringing at odd times (2-5am)

good vibes and feeling at home

Jaca hostel has some really good vibes making you feel straight at home. unfortunately I had to miss the pizza night but will come back another time hopefully. I also liked the fact that you could have some privacy in the beds with the curtains in case you want to.

2 really small bathrooms for everyone.. it would have be nice if there would be at least a separate toilet. now you had to wait sometimes for people in the shower to go to the toilet.

I am sure that all backpackers would love that place! Lovely common space and patio. Helpful and cheerful staff. Room and bathroom was rather small but still nice and all needed was there. There is a great restaurant next door which we highly recommend too.
