The garden is stunningly beautiful and peaceful and the pool is a good size and looks inviting.
The property is surrounded by mountains and is alive with bird song. There is a very good restaurant within easy walking distance. Sao Vicente ,a short drive away, is a is a pleasant place to walk around and has good restaurants and shops.
Rooms were of a good size and beds were comfortable with sufficient blankets and the hot water bottle was a thoughtful touch. We enjoyed a levada walk nearby and visiting the north coast.
We had difficulty finding the property and this was quite stressful. The name wasn't clearly visible and there wasn't much information to help us find it. To be fair there was a phone number, but our phone was without reception.
I had very much hoped to swim in the pool, but at the end of January/early February it was very cold . The property at this time of year, generally was quite cold with only one radiator in the double bedroom and one small electric fan heater. The kitchen -dining room was dark with no windows and not very inviting. It was a shame the chimney was blocked up as it would have benefited from a fireplace. Crockery and glasses in the kitchen were mismatched. We could have done with more place mats as there were only 2 and the table cloth was stained. We needed more towel rails and hooks. It was very difficult to get things dry.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was in a very quiet and peaceful location. The gardens were beautiful almost like a mini botanical gardens. The best part was the private swimming pool we were able to use every day after a long walk. We were welcomed by the lovely neighbour Clarisse. Ricardo always answered any queries very quickly. Would definitely stay again.

Located in a nice quiet part of the island just outside Sao Vicente centre with easy access to everything as we had rented a car. Roberto the owner was fabulous and even gave us some lovely home made cooking on Sunday, and Clarissa, his neighbour was on hand to support us for anything we needed and gave us some fruits grown in her garden (Thankyou) It is a beautiful villa with a lovely pool and gardens and the local restaurant serves fresh fish daily - only a 5min walk away.

Good things:
- Garden was really stunning. Like a little botanical garden.
- Staff was great.
- Value for money is great.
Could be better:
- Car gate got stuck, main door got stuck and needed strength for opening/closing.
- Accommodation was cold, the weather was also cold/rainy which is not the fault of the property. But maybe it needs some better heating solution. We did actually put in the radiator which solved the problem but when you come late from hiking and are wet and cold then it takes time to warm up the room.
- Property was a bit tired looking, but maybe it was intentional. Small things could be done to make it bit better (pillows could be switched to more comfortable ones, swithing bedsheets to all white ones, removing dark red table cloths from the tv table etc small things). But also it has a history and character because of the look :)

We are a family of four and we liked it to stay in Ricardo`s house. The rooms were big and comfortable, the garden was even hugh and there was also a nice swimming pool.

The large garden was fantastic (one of the best we have had) and so was the private swimming pool. The sleeping rooms have a view and direct access to the pool and the garden. It has a very nice view on the green mountains. Ricardo had arranged some fruits and groceries on our arrival and we got a nice garden tour.
The kitchen was a bit dark and an oven and some more pans would make it better.

Beautiful gardens and pool. Sao Vincente is a beautiful lush valley, that gets more sun than the rest of the North Coast. Lots of great hiking around. Pretty close to the most beautiful beach on the island in Seixal.
Bit of a pain to find initially.
At one point there must have been a cat living at the property (it’s a problem if you are allergic like I was).
Slightly outdated, however this may add charm.
