About this cottage rental
The lovely town of Burford occupies a position on the meandering River Windrush. Burford is built on a fairly steep hill, and the view from the top of the hill looking down the High Street to the river is one of the classic panoramas of the Cotswolds. A lovely 4-arched medieval bridge, widened in the 18th century, crosses the Windrush, and though Burford itself does not occupy the northern bank, a walk across the bridge is rewarded by wonderful views across watermeadows to the spire of St. John the Baptist parish church.
152 The Hill has been completed renovated and now offers 5 individual holiday homes, The Cottage is one of them, all five properties can be all be rented if you would like, family Christmas, special occasions, the whole property will sleep up to 23, but you will all have your individual space, please see 8379757, 8379752, 6977567, 8379755, and please contact us for details.
The Cottage is a two bedroom cottage, with one bathroom with shower, it can sleep up to 4 people, the bedrooms are individual, one double bed and one with a king size bed, downstairs is open plan living, kitchen, dining area and a sitting room with TV.
A communal garden can be found at the back of the property, it is lawned and is available to all guests that are staying at 152 The Hill. When you step outside the property, you are metres away from a newsagent, a butcher, a deli, a chemist, restaurants, pubs, a little further down is the Co-op shop. It is a brilliant place to stay as a base to explore the Cotswolds, with many places to visit.

We were delighted on arrival to see that the host had left us some beautiful cakes, bread, milk and butter. There were also some items in the pantry which we could use.

We enjoyed staying in this cottage in the center of Burford. The host was very accommodating and left us fresh bread and delicious cupcakes, milk and champagne- which made us feel welcome! Definitely recommend!

Sally's cottage was a veritable dream - light, spacious, comfortable, and very well decorated! The little extra touches to make us feel at home were very much appreciated - we instantly felt welcome and settled. The parking was exceptionally easy (right outside the door) and the location second to none - in the heart of the high street. We have had a wonderful stay, and could not recommend this property and Sally enough! Thank you again!

Great position in Burford cottage needs a few things doing to it.
Shower leaks through ceiling, fridge needs defrosting couldn’t open freezer door could do with more crockery and cutlery saves using dishwasher until its full no sheet on other double bed, good points thank you for the welcome basket.

Very nice cottage full of character, bang in the middle. of Burford. Well furnished and stocked with very comfortable beds.. One small complaint, the Wi-Fi wasn’t working and we couldn’t contact anyone to get it fixed. I think we should have been made aware of this.

The entrance is private and easily accessible since the cottage is located just a few steps inside the double doors. Upon arrival we were pleased to see fresh bread and a bottle of champagne! So nice. Loved the coziness of the cottage. The two bedrooms are upstairs and were comfy as well with great mattresses. Another nice touch was the heated floors in the bathroom area. Visiting from America, my adult daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed this cottage and only wish we had more time there. Oh, the views of the garden out my upstairs bedroom was beautiful! Hope to return some day!!! Thank you for such a lovely visit.

Cottage is in a great location for visiting Burford. Walking distance to shops, pubs and cafes. Also for driving to surrounding villages. Welcome gifts of bread, milk, butter, jam, cakes and fizz 🍾 were a special touch! The communal garden is lovely and the cottage itself is very quiet. We were able to find a parking spot each afternoon in the 24 hour free zone which was great but it was midweek. Would recommend!

The cottage was perfect for our needs and in a fantastic location, just a stones throw from the high street but set back so very quiet. The extra touches were lovely and well thought out (including an extra hand towel in the bathroom), the welcome pack was exactly what you would need and also included gorgeous homemade items. We would definitely stay again.

This is a perfect place to see the Cotswolds from. It is located in town but it isn’t loud. Some Cotswold stays are isolated. This isn’t. The place is small but well equipped for two couples or a family of 4. Everything we needed was there!

Appreciated the stone walls in the extreme heat. It was cool inside but even so a fan had been left. Thanks also for the cakes and bubbly etc. Much appreciated. A very comfortable stay. A couple of extra mugs and a tea towel would be great but otherwise everything was perfect! Thanks.

Excellent Short break In The Cotswolds
This is a beautiful cozy cottage in the High Street of Burford. The cottage has everything that you would need and the welcome touch of food and drink were greatly appreciated and a lovely gesture. Excellent pub and restaurants within a few minutes walk. We ate at the Highwayman Inn opposite and the Royal Oak down the hill. Some lovely shops and tea rooms to wander around. Would highly recommend and we will be back.

, Comfortable, Cotswolds Cottage in Central Location
The cottage is in Burford with all sorts of amenities nearby: groceries, good pubs, activities. The gate and private group of lodgings gives enough safety and privacy to relax. Owner is super helpful and quick with instructions and for questions. She really helped us out above and beyond in a pinch for early COVID tests shipped.

Comfortable & well placed
Great location, very comfortable and well equiped cottage. Very peaceful as away from the street. As mentioned previously, wi-fi is very hit and miss so plan as much as you can before you get there. Would benefit from an information pack in the cottage that includes details of local walks etc

The most warm welcome in the perfectly located cottage
It really is the small thoughtful gestures that make all the difference when you arrive somewhere with 3 children under 10 as a one parent family. In Sally’s case these gestures are having fresh bread, milk, butter and jam plus essential wine in the fridge. The cottage is comfy and cosy.. beds especially comfortable and literally a 2 min walk from shops, pubs and restaurants . A real treat to stay here- thank you so much ❤️

Quiet cottage in a prime central location
Our stay matched our expectations, especially after reading prior guest reviews and communicating effectively with Sally. Welcome treats and essentials for our morning start were nice touches (coffee, tea, milk, bread, butter and jam). Space was comfortable and good for rest and relaxation after daily excursions in the area. As the last unit of the property, The Cottage was far enough back for quiet repose from the main entrance and busy high street just beyond.

Long weekend
A lovely cottage in a very central Burford location (with large, free car park only 5 minutes walk away). The property was very clean, a lovely size and even came with freshly baked bread and goodies. We had to provide a couple of basics ourselves (e.g.hand soap) and noticed that the WiFi connection was occasionally a little faulty (it is shared with some of the neighbouring cottages). However, overall a very lovely stay and we would thoroughly recommend this cottage and location.
