Margret was a wonderful host. Her apartment very nicely decorated and had all the amenities that made our visit to Iceland even more delightful. Communication was flawless. She was kind enough to have Sindri (who was very friendly and knowledgable) meet us at 7:00 am on a Sunday, which we were extremely grateful for after an overnight flight! Great location and beautiful views.

Five ladies, each celebrating 60 this year, and 40+ years of friendship together, ventured to Iceland in the hopes of experiencing an adventure of seismic proportions...and that is exactly what happened. Although no tremors were felt, and the volcano never erupted, we had a blast. Apartment was centrally located and very comfortable...and the view from the common room was amazing. If we ever return, we wouldn't hesitate to again rent this location. Iceland is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

An absolute gem in city center. Ocean view and a balcony. Easy walk to market, shops, & restaurants. Also, if you’re doing tours, it’s only 5 minutes to the bus stop.
The kitchen is very well equipped with nice dishes and glasses, drip coffee maker, & toaster. There’s also a grill on the balcony if you’re so inclined.
I would stay here again.

This apartment is beautiful, comfortable and well situated to dining and shops of Reykjavik. My family of 4 used this as our home base as we explored the sites of Iceland. Margret was so accommodating and helpful, and we had a faultless stay. Highly recommend this property.

From the moment we were greeted for checkin to the day we left, our stay was wonderful. Margret is an amazing host. The location was ideal for walking to shops, sites and food in downtown Reykjavik. It’s not on the main road, which is great for quiet, but it’s so close to the fun! Best of both worlds. The view from the living room is absolutely gorgeous! And we saw the Aurora right outside that window the first night! We ran down to the water’s edge and to lo the Sun Voyager sculpture to get up close :) Margret is very accommodating-sent us a list of ways to watch the World Cup for the kids, and she allowed us a bit of extra time to leave due to one of our family members’ illness. The only thing I can say is that the satellite didn’t work, but upon asking, Margret explained that. We didn’t miss out, though. If you really need to watch tv, which we really didn’t, we had other options. I’ve never seen such a clean place! Easy in and out, and having parking under the building is so key! I hope we get to come back in the warmer months. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Wow - just loved our week stay at this apartment centrally located near the harbor center of Reykjavik. The views of the bay were wonderful, and the easy access to the main shopping streets of Reykjavik so nice. We loved the apartment''s features, great view from the living room, and the kitchen and dining spaces were great. The configuration of the apartment is great for two couples sharing the space as the bedrooms are on the outer sides of the apartment with the bathrooms back to back - gives very good privacy . Was also wonderful to have an in garage parking space for our car rental. The owner was so responsive to all our many questions, and responded quickly. We would happily stay here again - one of the best VRBO rentals we have ever stayed at.

Absolutely exceptional apartment, period!! We arrived from the US and were promptly greeted. The apartment is fabulous- spacious, impeccably clean, great location and more. We quickly realized how valuable on-site, inside parking was in Reykjavik. As we were a family traveling together with a full itinerary, the second bathroom was crucial. Margret was incredibly (above and beyond) helpful in suggesting trips, spots to visit and places to eat. We will absolutely go back to Iceland again and will definitely look to stay in this apartment when we do. I cannot rate the apartment and all of the conveniences that come with it high enough. The owner's willingness to go out of her way to help and offer trip advice is invaluable. Thanks a ton for the help and for a great stay!!!

Beautiful brand new condominium in a great location
This is a beautiful, exceptionally well maintained property in a superb location in Reykjavik. The view is outstanding, (it says harbor but more like mountains across the bay). Very lovely to wake up and see view from basically floor to ceiling windows. The condo is up to date with great amenities such as parking, (a big plus as parking in Reykjavik is not easy), microwave, dishwasher, and plenty of serviceware & cookware. The wifi worked great and there is both elevator and stairwell for easy access. Margret & Sindri were wonderful hosts. We had a car issue and Sindri was very accommodating when he could meet us keys and show us the condo. Sindri also gave great recommendations for eating, grocery shopping & pools. The location is excellent with fantastic cute shopping, galleries, and excellent restaurants & gourmet food shops. The condo has ample storage, (way more than any 1-2 week traveler could ever use). The 2 bedrooms are furnished with eco cotton flannel sheets. Pillows were a little smaller than we are accustomed to, but bedding was very warm. Be sure to ask Sindri how to work the clothing washer/dryer. It was not like usual American washer/dryer and took a few tries to get it to dry, (but eventually we figured it out). The condo is quite spacious. It was very nice to have the space after traveling in the country for a week in smaller hotels. Worth the price. Just note - there is a hefty tax on all Icelandic hotels etc. In fact, taxes on all goods and sundries were higher than we anticipated.... as well as food. It was great to go food shopping and prepare our own food. It saved a lot of money from eating out. I would stay here again for sure!

This apartment is as beautiful as depicted in the photos. We enjoyed the view daily as the light changed on the mountains. Margret and Sindri were very helpful and gracious. The apartment is equipped with everything we could need. Conveniently located to city points of interest and public transportation, yet very quiet. We loved our stay and would love to visit again!

Beautiful Apartment with great location and great view.
Very accommodating. We were driving in from Vik and did not get to the apartment until midnight. They met us at midnight and gave us an overview of the area, where everything was in the apartment and how to use the appliances. Great location. Easy to walk to shops and restaurants and to the harbor for our puffin tour. Also fantastic view. The apartment was very modern and clean. We really enjoyed our stay.

Cute apartment, gorgeous view, convenient location
First: Upon the initial booking and arrival, Margret was super responsive and helpful with everything including allowing us to check in early on a holiday! Her representative met us at the apartment and thoroughly explained everything.
Apartment: exactly as pictured and described. I never found extra blankets/sheets for the sleeper sofa but we didn’t end up using it so it wasn’t a big deal. Plenty of dishes and towels. The apartment is straight out of an IKEA showroom (cute, well proportioned, and minimalistic). The apartment was SPOTLESS and the view was breathtaking. Also, there was no sounds anywhere. Either the construction of this building is incredible or the neighbors are non-existent because we never heard or saw another resident throughout our entire 5 night stay. Wi-Fi only allowed 2 devices at a time but we had a mobile hotspot so it wasn’t a problem.
Location: we were able to walk everywhere in Reykjavik from the apartment. It’s not city center but nothing we went to was more than a 15 minute walk. Being on the water and having such a lovely view made the apartment feel even bigger.
Things to consider via my personal likes/dislikes (nothing worthy of less than 5 stars though): I couldn’t find any extra pillows or blankets which would have been amazing. Everyone likes different firmness of pillows so being stuck with just 4 pillows for 4 people was kinda rough when they were super soft and feathery. No top sheets or face cloths either (this may be an American thing) but know you’ll be washing your face and body with a big hand towel. Mattresses are FIRM- ladies, if you have implants and are a side/stomach sleeper note that there is not extra pillows for you and you’ll be on your back or hurting ;)
Overall: we would definitely recommend staying here. Our preferences as a family were just that, preferences but the booking process, check out process, and our overall stay were delightful. Staying here with 2 kids aged 10 & 11 and my husband we never felt crowded or cramped. The building was secure and quiet and felt very safe. The ease of getting to shopping, restaurants, museums, etc was PERFECT.

Outstanding apartment, spotlessly clean!
We stayed 4 nights at the apartment. The photos are accurate. The place is extremely clean and has everything to make your stay comfortable including dish washing liquid, paper towels, even extra toilet paper! It is a very safe/secure building and we felt safe returning home at 1:30 am from a northern lights tour. The views from the living room and den are lovely. The Main Street is an easy 3 block walk and the bus stop #7 for most tour pickups is only a few blocks away; it took us less than 5 minutes to walk there. Very convenient. We've stayed in other vacation rentals in Europe but feel this apartment was by far the cleanist and quietest. Margret responded quickly to all our requests and was exceptionally accommodating to our request to check in early as our flight from the US arrived early in the morning.

Sindri who met us at the condo the morning we arrived explained everything to us very well and we really appreciated getting into the condo the morning we arrived early from the states. This is a huge plus for anyone coming from the states on a early morning flight. Perfect location; beautiful apartment
Margret's beautiful apartment overlooks the water and is within walking distance to the center of Rekyjavik and places to see such as the beautiful Harpa concert hall. The apartment is spotlessly clean and furnished in a minimalistic, but lovely contemporary style. The pictures are quite accurate. Every utensil and appliance you could possibly need is supplied. We traveled as a family of 4, my husband and I and our 20 something sons. There was plenty of room and privacy for all of us. The layout of the apartment gives one bedroom with a full bathroom right across from it and at the other end of the apartment is the second bedroom with a full bathroom right across. If you are renting a car, this apartment comes with a designated parking space in the underground garage. The building is extremely secure.

Perfect Location, modern new apartment and furnishings
We were two couples in Reykjavik for our first time, and we all were more than satisfied with the accommodations at this apartment. With modern appliances including washer/dryer, we were able to feel at home while vacationing. Beds were comfortable, common rooms were spacious and well appointed. We were able to check the weather (even though the weather changes minute by minute) by walking out on the outdoor balcony, we had a lovely view of the water, and were within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants, docks, taverns, and theaters. When (not if) we return, we'd love to stay in the same apartment!

Lovely, modern apartment located not far from the main shopping areas. Great harbor view, quiet neighborhood. The owner's representative was very helpful when we were met at the apartment and he went out of his way to explain where shops and restaurants were (actually walking with us on his way home.....).

Fantastic Property
Prime location. Very nice bakery right up the street. Everything was very clean and in working order. Should you be from the U.S. the washer drier combo will take some getting used to but does a good job. The dishwasher is one of the quietest I have never heard. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook at home. You can walk to pretty much everywhere in city center you would want.. Grey line bus service will pick you up and drop you off at the Swann House which is almost right at the apartment. This is a great property and the host's are very nice people and very easy to reach and respond promptly.

Location! Location! Location!
We stayed at Margret’s condo the week of March 5th and had a fabulous time. The condo is perfectly located in walking distance to everything you need in Reykjavik – restaurants, shopping, and tour pick-ups. Each of the tours we booked picked us up at the Swan Apartments which is a half a block up the street. The condo is in a very modern building and we felt at home as soon as we arrived. Everything is clean and very tastefully decorated. We did have an issue getting hold of the person who was supposed to let us into the apartment but that was resolved fairly quickly. Margret was very generous in letting us check in early and stay late to accommodate our flights. I would like to point out that one of the bathrooms has a shower and the other a bathtub with a shower attachment. It was an easy work around but I felt it should be mentioned for others to be aware of. The view from the living room area is spectacular and makes it worth it to stay here all on its own. I would unquestionably stay here again. Thank you Margret!

Couldn't have asked for a better place in Reykjavik
This apartment is simply outstanding. We look forward to staying there again. The location is perfect, the views amazing, the parking garage extremely convenient and most importantly the apartment is stupendous: comfortable and stylish. An absolutely winning combination. Just steps away from Harpa, Laugavegur (if that's your thing) and a very short drive or walk to all the amazing things that the city has to offer.

Location, Ease and Comfort
Location:
The apartment is two blocks up from the waterfront (great route for a walk/run) and two blocks down from a main restaurant/shopping street. Because it is so close some of the tourist transport options will pick you up there even though it is not one of the official hotel stops. Please verify as it is NOT guaranteed.
Ease:
I had absolutely no difficulty with any of the logistics of booking the property, accessing the property or with the closing of the reservation. Margret was very responsive, helpful and efficient. The property was easy to find on maps. Because we got out of the airport so quickly we arrived at the property 30 minutes early. We were able to contact Margret in route and we were met at the apartment 30 minutes early and were let in. I am so impressed at the flexibility and responsiveness! And it was nice to have someone personally orient us to the apartment even though there was nothing really complicated.
Comfort:
Everything is as described in the VRBO posting. We had four people, two in one room, one in the other room and one on the sofa bed; all of us slept well. The kitchen is fully equipped and with grocery stores a short walk away we were able to save a little money on food. There are several places to gather - the front room with the amazing view, the dining table or the TV room and all were accommodated the four of us with ease.
I have stayed at several VRBO properties in different countries and I would rank this among the best. Sometimes I worry about not staying in a hotel when I am in a foreign country but Iceland itself, especially Reykjavik, is very gentle in that regard. And the apartment and quality of care provided by Margret gave me the same comfort of having hotel staff available.

NYE in Reykajvik
Traveled to Reykajvik over the New Years Eve holiday and it did not disappoint.
The location of the apartment was top notch, less than a 5 minute walk to the main shopping street and about a 10minute walk down to the city square area.
We called when we landed at the airport and got our luggage and through customs. The hosts met us upon arrival to let us into the garage and show us the parking space we could use. We were escorted up to the apartment and shown how to use everything and given good directions on where we could go shopping, dining, and tips to enjoy anything else we wanted to do on our stay.
The apartment was spacious enough for 4 adults and a small child. The apartment was modern and comfortable. The heated floors in the bathrooms made me wish I had them at home.
Overall, it was a great stay and were very glad we chose this place and it was available!

The listing description is quite accurate and the apartment was very clean and well maintained. We were met on time by the owner's rep who took sufficient time to explain the property details. The location of the apartment is wonderful----the main shopping and restaurant areas are a couple of easy walking blocks away. We found good spots to eat by simply checking out menus and atmosphere during our walking about. The view of the water is also a definite plus.
Because the apartment is new, if anything it feels a bit "sterile", and a couple of comfortable chairs and area floor coverings would improve that. It would also be nice to have a few extra towels, blankets and pillows available. Kitchen condiments, glasses and utensils are sufficient.
Iceland visitors should be prepared for rain and wind as a given-----at least in September------ with sun to be cherished when it occurs! Also recommended is a cell phone that works with local numbers. Specifically, you need to call for a FlyBus return pickup to the airport the day before departure. If in a hotel, staff can assist with that, but being on your own in a VRBO unit requires either a phone or a helpful local citizen!
The Iceland countryside is amazing, with rugged landscape, thermal activity and waterfalls all around. Margret kindly provided some helpful sightseeing suggestions and we also used the Lonely Planet guide book. We took the Golden Circle tour with Iceland Horizons, a 14 seat max van that was just great. We very much enjoyed our 3-day stopover visit and would absolutely recommend Margret's apartment as a fine home base to use during your own Iceland adventure.
