About this house rental
The Ledge @ Peterborough is a modern four bedroom home which caters comfortably for up to 8 people with everything you need for a restful holiday.
Peterborough is one of the best kept secrets along the Great Ocean Road and is a tranquil and unspoilt coastal town. "The Ledge" is approximately 120 metres from Wild Dog Cove which is a protected bay perfect for exploring, swimming, diving (either snorkel or tanks) and has an abundance of fish and shell fish.
Accomodation comprises four bedrooms, master with king size bed, two queen size rooms and the fourth has two single beds. All rooms have built in robes. The generous family bathroom is modern with huge walk in shower and a relaxing bath. The front of the house is warmed and cooled with a reverse cycle air conditioner.
At the back of the house is the large north facing open plan family living area. The lounge has ample seating and a wood fire heater and opens via three panel slide aside glass doors onto the deck with views across farmland to the Curdies River. The deck is a lovely sunny place to relax and watch the children play on their own fort and slide. There is also a BBQ for your enjoyment. The modern kitchen has a central island bench and breakfast bar together with double sink, dishwasher and 5 burner gas cooktop and large electric oven. The kitchen overlooks the dining area with an eight seater dining table.
The laundry has a washing machine and dryer and separate toilet.
Outside, the property is fully enclosed which means the children are safe, there is an outside shower for after beach swims and off street parking for your boat. We DO NOT accept pets at The Ledge.
Peterborough has a fabulous cliff top walk which winds its way west towards the Bay of Martyrs. There is a seaside 9 hole golf course, local tennis courts and playground with BBQ facilities all within walking distance.
This part of the world is a fishermans paradise where you can fish the Curdies River or Lake system by boat or land for bream and mulloway. Launch your sea vessel at the amazing steep boat ramp and head out to the deep for snapper and tuna. Or fish the surf for whiting, flathead and salmon.
The iconic 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, Gibson Steps and other attractions are a short 20 minute drive along the Great Ocean Road. Once you have visited these don't forget to take in the 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail which features G.O.R.G.E Chocolates, Apostle Whey Cheese, Timboon Fine Ice Cream and the delicious meals at Timboon Railway Shed Distillery to mention but a few.
Port Campbell is a 7 minute drive along the GOR and has many restaurants and eateries to visit. The regional centre of Warrnambool is a 35 minute drive west where you can visit the fantastic playground of Lake Pertobe, Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village home of the Loch Ard Peacock or take a stroll through the streets to shop for something special.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed. We love staying in Peterborough, which is a little quieter but Deb & Greg's place has everything we need, easy access to go on walks and not far of a drive to explore along the great Ocean road.
5.0
Deb's place is brand new, with all the finishes you'd expect from a luxury rental. The kitchen sparkles and the living room furniture is stylish yet comfortable.
The house has four bedrooms, but only one bathroom which is a little odd. That makes it a terrific getaway for a couple or even a small family. But I suspect that the one bathroom might be an issue for groups of six or more. (Curiously, the toilet is in its own room, on the opposite side of the house from the sink, delightfully large shower, and even more delightfully large tub). Also, the air conditioning unit is in the hallway, so on a hot night, everyone would need to leave their bedroom doors open to stay cool.
But if your group is content to live with these small flaws, you won't find a nicer place to stay anywhere in Peterborough or Port Campbell.

We were a party of 5 adults. The home is spacious, clean and easy to navigate. Separate toilet room next to laundry sink was fine for 5 adults. Really a very good and affordable place. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend for those traveling the Great ocean Road. Very close to London Bridge.
Communication was mixed. I booked months in advance for 4 adults and received automated acceptance. The personal message I sent weeks in advance was not acknowledged until check in instructions arrived 3 days before check in. By check in, our party had grown to 5 adults but I did not communicate this (my fault) and there were only 2 beds made up and no sheets/ pillow cases for additional bedrooms / beds available.
Deb did go above and beyond to drive over an hour to set up the additional linens. We certainly appreciated that effort. Maybe in the future, consider having sheets and pillow cases available in bedroom closets.
One other note is that if you are staying during a hot night, the A/c unit is located in the hallway for all four bedrooms . So, you need to either keep your bedroom door open, or open windows. There was a portable fan in each bedroom which was a nice amenity.

We had a wonderful stay in such a beautiful part of the world. The home is beautiful with lots of attention to detail and style. I particularly love the linen and the shower and bath. Our kids really enjoyed the backyard , the play area is great for little ones and the coastline nearby is totally sublime. Thanks to Deb for the really helpful and prompt communications.

Fantastic property offering everything you require. The beds are amazing. Best nights sleep. A home away from home. Brilliant location. The beach is very close by, quiet location and a lovely take away in the town centre with a great milkshake. Aswell as a general store where the staff are very helpful. Thankyou to the owners for looking after us. We had an amazing stay. The Ledge is a must for those visiting Victoria's south west.

Well placed and an easy drive to Port Campbell, the Apostles and other great but less visited costal spectacles like the Grotto, London Bridge and Bay of Islands.
During our stay the whole of Victoria was having a unusual super cool and very windy and wet November. Unfortunately the Air Conditioning chose the moment to fail. Deb urgently arranged a repair person but was unable to be fixed during out stay as was a weekend and poor weather. We used the fire place but still a bit chilly for us and a few rattles fromthe roof above.
Other than that well appointed and comfortable. Without storms its a very quiet location.

Lovely home and a lovely owner
A stunning house, in a lovely spot. Can not recommend Deb and Greg enough. Such a wonderful couple. Used their house for our wedding and Deb left us a lovely bunch of flowers and a bottle of champagne. She also very kindly let us cancel last year with a full refund due to postponing our wedding last year due to Covid even with a no refund policy. A genuine lovely person xx

Lots of light, and plenty of space for a group.

Fantastic owners lovely place.
The owners were amazing we had to cancel last minute due to COVID. They could not have been kinder about the situation or more helpful to reorganize!!! The property was spotless and contained everything a family would need. It was quiet even with the very cute cow neighbors (LOL). Walking distance from beaches/walks etc. Very quiet. I highly recommend!!!!!

A gem of a place.
Everything we needed and more. Peterborough is such a lovely spot along the GOR. Port Cambell & Timboon was a short drive away for meals out. Such a lovely place, the cows came to say hello over the back fence each morning, and we did daily walks along the walking trails to the numerous beach coves. The house was very well presented, clean and tidy, with a handy guide & instructions provided on everything in the house. The kids loved taking outdoor showers in the back yard, after a beach day. Deb & Greg were great in communication, we had no issues at all over the week of our stay.

Wonderful property
Beautiful property in a stunning location. Everything was very clean. One warning is that the one toilet is away from the bathroom and bed rooms so if you need to pee in the night a lot it might be an issue

The loveliest hosts you will come across
A cosy oasis in a quiet neighbourhood, the home is great for a family so close to some of the amazing hidden beaches on the south coast.
You could not find nicer hosts, the communication and check in was seamless and hosts were so accomodating.

Beautiful property in a great location
Stayed at the property for a few days with friends. It is a great, clean home, nestled in a quiet location. Super close to the beach, and a short drive away from many other activities and sights that GOR has to offer.
Food options are limited in the area, but they are available in a 20-40 min drive.
Host was great with communication.

Had a fantastic stay
Our family loved our stay here, such a great location which is quiet and close for all the sightseeing in the area.
The house is in great condition and the hosts are super easy and lovely to deal with!
We enjoyed coffee and food from peterbourgh businesses and also took a short drive into Port Campbell which has quite a few options for meals and a little suppermarket.
In saying that this house had a great set up for you to cook your own meals if you wanted to have a quiet one in.
We will be staying again.

A lovely house, great size to accomodate our family of five and the hosts were great and very easy to deal with. Minus is no WIFI and not many food choices locally- but this maybe due to staying there in the off-season. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet getaway to explore the beautiful coastline.

We enjoyed ourselves. Our holiday was postponed the day before the travel date due to the 5 days snap lockdown. Deb was very quick and supportive with the whole process of rescheduling. When we were finally at The Ledge, we were all really impressed by how beautiful it is. Place was clean, modern and spacious. Kids had lots of fun in the backyard cubbyhouse. It was 5 mins walking distance to a beautiful beach. The Only let down was the weather on the second day. We will definitely come back!
