About this villa rental
The house lies in a beautiful Mediterranean countryside, a few minute walk from the beach. A large garden and a swimming pool, open from June to September, provide outdoor relaxation. The main building accommodates 4 guests. A pretty cottage in the garden offers two more beds on request at an extra charge. A beautiful view of the sea and the close-by nature reserve ‘Lo Zingaro’ may be enjoyed from the balcony. A few hundred meters from the picturesque village of Scopello and the enchanting site of the Tonnara (old disused tuna-fishing station, now a bathers' resort), where the end of the film Ocean Twelve was shot. The location is very quiet, but you can find all facilities, shops, bars and restaurants at a few kilometers distance. A car is absolutely required to reach the property and visit the area.

We had a great stay with friendly and helpful hosts. The house has an amazing view over the ocean and the nearby places are fantastic. We could easily have spent more days there.
N.B.: You will absolutely need a car to get to this house.
N.B.: Be mindful that the number of rooms available is based on the number of guests. In the ad, it appears you book a 3 room house but it turned out only 2 bedrooms were included in the price, as we were 4 people travelling. Luckily, the hosts were very helpful even though we arrived late in the evening and we could sort out the extra room for an additional fee. This was critical to us as we have an autistic teenage son who needs his own room when he travels with us.

We stayed 13 nights at this nice property. Nice view, nice pool. Everything works very well. Good beds. Unfortunately it was a bit noisy through various constructions in the neighborhood. You can walk to the beach which is great. Scopello is a nice and quiet spot. Bigger supermarkets are 20min away in Castellammare.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely house. The outdoor space, pool and the view were second to none. The house was equipped with everything we needed for our 9 night stay. I highly recommend this property.

It was just a perfect stay. These reviews are all excellent and for a reason! The photos don’t really reflect how beautiful the area and everything is. Mariella and Giuseppe are truly great hosts who care about their guests and want to make sure their stay is as good as it can possibly be. The house was spotless, it had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. The pool amazing too. Our hosts recommended plenty of things for us to do, taking their time to write and explain everything down for us which is another sign that they really care, including an amazing wine tasting in the area. Overall, we would really recommend it. Thank you again Mariella and Giuseppe!

Very clean apartment, fully working kitchen, big balcony with sea view in a quiet small town. Not far from several amazing beaches. Private pool. Owner are really nice and gave great advises for restaurants etc.

The apartment was perfect for us. Location wise it was ideal to walk to the small bay at the bottom of the road. Mariella was extremely helpful in letting us know about the local area and restaurant in Scopello village. The pool was the icing on the cake. Would definitely stay again.

What a wonderful trip in a stunning place. Mariella and Giuseppe were warm and generous hosts and welcomed us late at night even though Mariella was celebrating her birthday. Mariella's communication was excellent prior to our stay and she was very helpful when we were there. Stunning and spotless villa. Spacious bedrooms, a good size bathroom and well equipped kitchen. We spent all of our time in the large outside area which was perfect for sunbathing, reading and relaxing with incredible views and a lovely garden. The balcony was perfect and we ate there all the time, loving the evening 'fly past' from the swifts whilst looking at the stunning views. We were there in high season, but it was peaceful and relaxing. Scopello is such a pretty little town, with good restaurants and bars, and the scent of jasmine in the air. Both supermarkets in the area were great, and the green grocer sold delicious home made bread. A short walk to a beach good for snorkelling with amenities and a slightly longer walk to a very pretty secluded beach. A short car drive away is Spiaggia di Guidaloca - a much larger beach and great for swimming. Erice is worth a visit and Terrasini has a pretty centre with pretty beaches. We were there for a week but could have stayed all month. Thank you.

We loved our stay at this accommodation. The villa was immaculately clean and the outside space and pool brilliant. The balcony area was a really good size and mostly in the shade so great on a hot day. The hosts made us feel very welcome and were great for local information. We would definitely stay again.

The accommodation was lovely, with the pool such a delight, and the provision of air-conditioning a necessary essential with glorious sunshine each day of our stay. Mariella and Guiseppe were lovely hosts, very determined to ensure that we had a lovely stay, and were kind enough to share a glass or two of beautiful Sicilian wine with us one evening! The property is excellently located, with easy access to the nearby beach and other wonderful local attractions such as Scopello itself where it was just wonderful to eat in the evenings.

We had the most amazing stay at this villa. The view is just stunning and it’s so peaceful. The Villa had everything we needed for our stay. And the gated pool was perfect as we have a 2 year old so gave us that extra peace of mind. Mariella was just so helpful and friendly. We would love to come back

The property is absolutely stunning, well presented and tastefully decorated. Well equipped with almost everything you need. The pool was great, particularly given the beautiful garden setting and the amazing local scenery. The host, Mariella was so helpful and kept in touch throughout our stay and gave us some great advice to make our stay even better. Scopello is lovely, all the bars and restaurants were great serving up superb food and drinks. The 2 local supermarkets were both really good, and a special mention to the Solea grocery and eaterie ( next to supermarkets) if you want to enjoy local produce then this place is a must....you can buy their wines for only 3 euro a litre, the red nero d'avola was delicious. There are plenty of great places to visit nearby, we visited Palermo, Segesta, Trapani, Erice, Marsala, Castellammare del Golfo and the beautiful Zingaro to name but a few, all really interesting and beautiful. We have already decided that we need to return to Scopello very soon, hopefully with more sunshine the next time as the weather was very unsettled during our stay although this didn't spoil our stay at all. I highly recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This was our fourth time at the villa, partly just me and my husband, partly with our grown-up offspring. As before, we had a wonderful time, thoroughly enjoying the local area and taking day trips in between.
The house is perfect for us, in particular the pool and extensive outdoor areas - with the new kitchen an added bonus.
We can't wait to return.

A truly wonderful villa with fantastic facilities and the most wonderful location. The villa was bright and clean and very well appointed, the beaches (yes, more than one!) are very close by but there is also a private swimming pool to enjoy too!

We were 3 generations on holiday and this villa was perfect for us
The photos do not do the interior justice as it has been renovated to a high standard
The view from the villa was breathtaking and we spent lots of time in the pool teaching our granddaughter to swim
It is a short walk down to a busy beach & the tip that Mariella gave us to one a little further away is well worth the walk
Mariella was a wonderful host and we would highly recommend her villa

Fantastic property with stunning views.
This is a lovely, clean property and we had a super stay here. The owners Mariella and Giuseppe were so helpful in every way. Our kids loved the swimming pool and the views were stunning. A car is essential when staying at this property. We made the mistake of not booking a car thinking we could walk everywhere. This is not possible as it is in the middle of the Sicilian Countryside. We stayed for two weeks and any problems we had Mariella and Gieseppe responded very quickly with any information we needed. The beaches were stoney, so bring swim shoes with you to make it easier to walk on. The little village of Scopello was very sweet and we went to eat here several times. The gelato was especially good! All in all a lovely holiday made all the more special by the lovely owners! Thank you!

Just what our family needed
After the past two years of travel restrictions and working from home we were really looking forward to a much deserved holiday. I have to say this villa surpassed all expectations and was even more lovely than the photos and the pool was amazing. You will need a car to get from the airport and to go to the supermarket but Scopello village is only about a 20minute walk with some amazing restaurants and cocktail bars. The first part of the walk is uphill and quite uneven so leave your high heels and wedges at home. Mariella was fantastic and all her communication before our stay was so helpful and she even met us at the villa on arrival to talk us through everything. Would 100% recommend this villa, thanks for a super holiday.

Wunderschöne Ferien in Scopello

Magnificent villa which exceeded expectations
My fiancé and I just spent two weeks in Sicily, the first week of which we stayed at Mariella and Giuseppe’s beautiful villa. The villa is fantastic, it took our breath away when we first arrived, and we spent a magical week there in mid September. The terrace with the view down to the sea is fantastic and we spent most of our time outdoors here, either on the terrace or around the brilliant pool area which we made lots of use of. We found the villa very clean and well equipped - we cooked breakfast every day and had a bbq one evening, and we had all the equipment we needed for this. On arrival, Giuseppe welcomed us warmly and spent time with us explaining everything in the villa, and giving us tips for the local area. Although we didn’t meet Mariella, she was so helpful via WhatsApp both before and during our stay, and was on hand for anything we wanted. The villa is very conveniently located - we walked in to Scopello most evenings, which took us 20 minutes (most of which is the big hill right out side the villa - absolutely worth the effort!) and Scopello itself is a gem amongst Sicily. A very quaint town with plenty of restaurants to keep you busy for at least a week. We couldn’t recommend this villa highly enough and we really look forward to returning in the future.

Fantastic setting and perfect getaway
We were holidaying for the first time as a couple again without any children, or young adults, so had chosen the property to suit just our own needs! We are seasoned Home and Away travellers and well versed at reading the listings. We had everything we needed at Villa Irene for a perfect, much needed, relaxing holiday in the most amazing setting. The photos on the listing cannot possibly match the most fabulous views from the property balcony and pool area. It was so peaceful that some days we were just happy to stay put and absorb the setting ( not like us as we are explorers with a holiday plan normally!!) The weather this time of year(early September) was perfect for us and it was obviously less busy than high season.
The kitchen /diner is set up as an indoor - outdoor space to include the balcony seating area ,which spreads around 3 sides of the building, so there is always sunshine or shade to suit everyone. The pool area is super and kept wonderfully clean with bi-weekly maintenance visits. The rest of the property was spacious and comfortable for the 2 of us with everything we needed.
Scopello is a delightful village and we enjoyed evening visits, with it’s choice of restaurants then sitting in the square with a glass of wine, people watching.
Mariella and Giuseppe are wonderful hosts, always promptly attentive to your questions and had provided local information with recommendations. If you wanted to travel out further a field to eat in the evenings we particularly enjoyed the port, and central, area of Castellammare del Golfo which is about a 20 minute drive away. The beach closest to the property is small and rocky with good snorkelling opportunities with several other similar ones near by . If you wanted a fab sandy beach then you can head to the seaside town of San Vito lo Capo, approx 40 mins away, which is very safe for children. Visits to Erice, Trapani Salt Pans, Segesta, Palermo and “off-piste” drives through the countryside were all well worth it. Our only piece of advice would be get a hire car that is powerful enough to cope with the hilly areas and rugged roads.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Scopello and Villa Irene to families of 4 or couples , thank you Mariella and Giuseppe for sharing it with us.

We have had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the villa. We are a family of 4 (kids are 7 and 10) and the villa was perfect for us – be that letting the kids jump round in the pool, strolling down to the beaches which are only a couple of minutes’ walk away or sitting on the balcony enjoying the sea views. Mariella and Giuseppe were very kind and helpful but also very mindful of our privacy. Thanks to you both for the local insight, helpful recommendations on days out and the lovely wine 😊. Hopefully we can make it back some time and I would have no hesitation recommending this villa to anyone who enjoys a peaceful get-away and sea-views.

Great holiday
Lovely property in a great location with fantastic views, from the balcony. You can easily walk down to the beach or with a bit more effort up into the village of Scopello. The owners were very welcoming and pleasant and really helped us enjoy our stay (thanks Mariella and Giuseppe) Highly recommend.

Good location moderately equipped
We were there in October with our two kids. Between Palermo, San Vito lo Capo and Zingarro nature reserve this spot is really one of the best locations in Sicily’s north west. Basically the two stars off the maximum is due to the lower value for money and an unpleasant discussion with the owner:
The water is heated by sun collectors. Which means that when it was cloudy (happened a few times) it has been difficult for me and my wife to take a hot shower. We have been informed on this only when checking in.
The kitchen equipment is really very limited and worn down. The non sticky Teflon pots are extremely scretched. And there was also only one pot with lid. No knifes for preparing food, cheese grinder etc.
The internet connection is terrible as it constantly interrupts and, at least on apple devices, often does not reconnect automatically. While I believe the owner that in this region this is the best you can get, this will be big problem if you need to rely on a good connection (e.g. for work or kids entertainment in the evening).
Because the kids took off the anyway loose cover of the sofa the owners accused us to be also responsible for the stains underneath (claiming they have not been there before). I guaranteed that it was not the kids (who never were alone there) nor us. But the discussion, almost argument, happened twice, during our stay and afterwards (when discussing the deposit). In the end they did not charge us. Having a good insurance, the money would not have been the issue anyway but it was a very unpleasent situation.
The house itself is really spacious including the balcony with great view and the pool. The owners described everything very precisely in a folder: sights, restaurants, supermarkets etc. and of course all the do’s and donts for the apartment. Being there in October we sometimes felt a bit lonely as there were not really many people in the other houses in the neighborhood. Especially when the alarm in the neighborhood went off during two nights.
As mentioned because of the limitations in hot water, internet and kitchen equipment compared to the price we paid, I think it is not really good value for money.

Great location, beautiful views from all around the villa. Extremely helpful owner, with lots of tips. Scopello is a delightful little town with restaurants and bars we had great food there, one lovely red giant prawns and tuna in La Tavernetta and a great value delicious meal in the Sicilian Street food bar in the square. Visited Erice very historic and again great food in the square, Segesta's beautiful Doric Villa and amphitheater. (Check opening times before going as it varies through out the year) Went to Palermo, bonkers driving in and around Palermo but found a multi-storey car park very reasonable parking rates, you can get the train in from Castellammare. Also went to Monreale very pretty, all these with in an hour or less of the Villa. The beach at the bottom of the road is stoney but lovely and like most of Sicily ruggedly scenic, the added bonus of the beach bar made it an early evening destination. There is the most amazing Deli supermarket on the road in to Scopello, the food so fresh and beautifully displayed, you can eat there and they do great gelato. The Villa is ideally placed to reach many great places and is nicely secluded. The swimming pool is an added bonus and the outside space is so varied you can always find a spot in or out of the sun. The wild life is mesmerising and we spent a lot of time watching the birds, insects and if you sit quietly enough at dusk you can see bats as well. We had a lovely, holiday and would recommend this villa for a great Sicilian get-away

The property was beautifully presented and in a lovely location with views of the sea.
We enjoyed the peaceful location of the villa, and its beautiful views of the sea and Zingaro nature reserve. The pool, and the and balcony along one side of the property are elevated as the villa is built on a hillside, so on all but the hottest days there was a lovely cool breeze at the poolside and on the balcony. The pool was a good size, and very welcome for cooling down, with temperatures in the high 30s. The villa was well equipped and comfortable. Mariella and Giuseppe were very welcoming hosts, and speak excellent English. They gave us lots of useful information on the surrounding area and practical tips like where to find a supermarket, and recommendations for places to eat out including gelaterias! Villa D'Amico is in a great location, a short walk from least two beaches which are great for snorkelling, and a short walk from Scopello village with its cafes and restaurants. There's lots to see and do within easy reach of Scopello too, our favourites were the beach at Guidaloca, with it's pedalo slides and ringo/jet ski rides, the Temple and amphitheatre at Segesta, the caves at Mangiapane, with a village built in to them, and the stunning hill top town of Erice, near Trapani. It was too hot to walk to the beaches in the Zingaro reserve, but we took a boat and snorkelling trip to these beaches , which left from Scopello. The towns of Gibellina and Poggioreale, devastated by an earthquake in 1968, and their memorials were also fascinating, though beware the crumbling mountain roads! Many thanks to Mariella and Giuseppe for a great holiday. We would highly recommend this property and area of Sicily.

A real gem of a find, close to everything you need but so idyllic and peaceful too. Perfect!!
A perfect little hideaway with everything you need for a relaxing holiday for four people. Cool, clean and airy with sea and mountain views, sea breezes and air conditioning. Beautiful pool and gardens and just a short walk from the beach so ideal for everyone. The walk up to Scopello and the various restaurants is quite steep but always worthwhile. Maria and her family are great hosts, with all the little hints and tips that help to make a great holiday. Thank you! ( and yes we would like to come back!)

Beautiful place but fear we won't be back
This is a good place for a holiday in an stunning setting. It’s an easy drive from Palermo (nb. If you are picking up a car from Palermo airport, you can walk to the car hire area, no need for shuttle) and we were sent very clear directions.
The views are incredible. It feels very private and peaceful, although we did get some loud late night music from the apartment down the hill a couple of times. The pool is beautiful and ideally situated. It is a very short drive to Scopello (albeit down a terribly bumpy road), which is a very atmospheric and beautiful village. Scopello also has an ATM.
There is lots of incredible outdoor space with terraces on two sides of the property. We ate every single meal outside for two weeks. The kitchen/living room is a smallish room so might start to feel cramped if it was not warm enough to eat every meal on the terrace (the bedrooms are perfectly spacious however). Also worth noting that there is no proper oven (although there is a microwave oven), and no DVD player, which might be of interest if you have kids. We had a couple of problems with the gas hob not lighting but the owner very promptly sent someone to fix it.
However, we will definitely not be returning to this property because we found the fixed cleaning charge, on top of which 50% again was then deducted from our deposit, to be excessive. We have stayed in countless rental properties as a family before and have never had any issues, but in this case the owner contacted us in a very abrupt manner shortly after our return to the UK informing us that she was unhappy with how we had left the apartment (because of things like some sand that had been brought in on small feet, and empty bottles which we had left lined up by the kitchen bin – there are no outside bins or recycling facilities on site). We were disappointed as we had done our best to keep the property in a good state during our two week stay, using the mop/broom that were provided, but without a vacuum cleaner it would have been difficult not to leave any sand when we were on the beach every day. Obviously the owner is understandably concerned with the maintenance of her property, but if like us you have small children, you might want to note that she expects you to leave it in a state that in our view does not take account of normal wear & tear, certainly for a 2 week stay, and you might end up paying considerably more for cleaning from your deposit on top of the basic fee.

Hot happy holiday
Excellent communication before, during & after our holiday. Clear directions from Palermo airport.
This villa benefits from a secure & well maintained pool, which was greatly appreciated in the hot weather.
The villa contains all of the facilities required for one week's holiday. Although a combi microwave is available & not a separate oven / microwave as implied on the website.
The owners are friendly & any queries were efficiently dealt with.
We visited Erice, Segesta, Selinunto, Agrigento & Palermo - the temples were amazing (Segesta & Agrigento temples - for us were the best). The botanical gardens in Palermo are well worth a visit, as relaxing & containing some spectular plants. Unfortunately Palermo palace was closed during our visit. We would certainly recomend this villa. Thank you.

Super Scopello location
This holiday location is beautifully quiet with superb views and as previous reviewers have said, the photos do not do it justice. The accommodation is of a good standard, the bedrooms are comfortable and there is plenty of storage. There is air con and ceiling fans in both bedrooms and a ceiling fan in the living space. The living space inside the house (a kitchen/living/dining area) is not large but it is big enough given the fabulous outside space. There is a large balcony which has a table and chairs and sun chairs and it has shade for much of the day should you need it. Just around the corner is the pool with sun loungers and parasols. The pool is not deep and it is very safe, with railings around to exclude young children straying into the space. The view is great. There are 2 beaches within 5 minutes walk, one has sun beds and a couple of small cafes, the other has no amenities and is very small but, good for a quick dip.
The owners of this property are extremely helpful before you visit and if you need help while you are there. The directions from the airport are very clear and you are greeted at the villa by the lovely gentleman who is the gardener. Scopello is a beautiful village and is probably about 30 mins walk with some really nice restaurants and bars. There is a lovely local 'super' market about 5-10 mins drive away.
We would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants a very relaxing, completely private location. It is beautiful.

Paradise found
The holiday was a surprise birthday present for my wife and we had a blissful week in paradise. The photos do not do the location justice. The views from the balcony down to the sea or from the spacious swimming pool area are truly breathtaking.
The villa was clean and well equipped and everything was so well organised for us in advance. The owner could not have been more helpful. The walk down to the beach is a couple of minutes and Scopello is just up the road and it is a picturesque village with great restaurants and a relaxed atmosphere. It is also a great location to explore the area and the nature reserve. We could not have been happier and would recommend this to anyone looking for a stunning, secluded location - a romantic retreat to enjoy Sicily. 5 star all the way.

Superb location close to Scopello
The setting of the villa was fantastic the access to a local popular beach was a bonus and the views from the balcony were amazing. The various outdoor eating areas were great for family meals especially the balcony area bathed in the evening sun. The gardens and pool area were well maintained with midweek pool attendant. Eating out in Scopello was a delight in the evenings and for self catering the local supermarket sold all we needed. Car hire is essential, the condition of local roads and Sicilian drivers are quite an experience.
