Hotel is small but really charming. Seaside view was outstanding. Perfect location, just by the beach, few minutes walk to shop, parking spot in front of hotel. Personal is lovely, really helpful and friendly.
Everything was good

Nice location over looking the beach.
Not much to dislike, slightly noisy from downstairs but that’s to be expected so can’t complain
4.2
We arrived tired and wet and really appreciated the spacious and well equipped room. We enjoyed being able to see straight up the beach and out to sea from our window and we only had to go downstairs to have dinner without leaving the building which was really handy.

Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Gorgeous sea views from the family room. Plenty of space for 3 adults and all our stuff in the room.

Location

Location was beautiful looking out at the Moray Firth right in front of us. Food was excellent . Only negative was no room in the bathroom to put anything I.e no hook on the door . Mick gives you a great welcome and keeps you entertained. Brilliant most helpful funny man .. We are planning our next trip back already .

I had to do some work from my room so could have just done with a desk that I could sit with my legs under to work off with my laptop (got pins and needles trying to work off my lap) - BUT that said... the team were perfectly happy for me to work downstairs in the bar area at one of the tables whilst the pub was closed and actually it was good to have the option of where I worked.
Also loved having a mini-fridge in the room in this hot weather to keep my water bottle in for a nice crispy cold drink together with the fan in the room. Both were used! ;)
All the team at the FH&R were so friendly and we were only there for 2 nights but felt so welcome - they took an interest in our working days and were happy to chat and nothing was too much trouble. Wouldn't hesitate in coming back and have fed back to Ruth at the office who booked everything.
Nothing to be honest.

Top rate breakfast. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff.
The odour of dampness on the ground floor of the stair-well.

Location, view from room. Hotels restaurant, food was delicious. Very friendly staff. Very clean and room we were in was decorated nicely.
Handle on door for guests to enter the property could do with being replaced. Loose & awkward to use and we couldn't get in on one occasion. Noisy pipes, every time toilet & shower is used. Although it wouldn't stop us staying again.

Great location, friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble.

Staff were great ,very friendly and helpful. Food was good and good value. Room was also good value. Basic but adequate and met expectations.
Small bathroom and paper bath mat. All OK though.

The location was certainly convenient with an excellent view
The hotel was closed until 5.00p.m. The soundproofing was poor. The breakfast failed to match the promotional photo.
The whole operation was disappointingly amateur for the price charged; I would have done rather better to have used a B&B.

The view from our room was beautiful looking over the east beach. We had a family room which was spacious for the 2 of us, an unexpected fridge in the room which was good. Staff all friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was great and good. value for money.
Breakfast was rather expensive for what was offered.
4.2
location is super nice, at the beach
food was really good
Interior in the room is a bit old and doesn’t really fit in the room, eg opening door means beating bed table
Waiting times in restaurant for ordering dinner and drinks were long, Team seems a bit chaotic, as the order could haven been placed earlier.
Staff is super friendly anyways

Lovely clean and warm room, with a great view. I was kindly given an upgrade from a single to a double on check in, which was much appreciated. I also enjoyed a really good curry in the restaurant. Recommended!

Love the location and the beautiful views across to the beach. The rooms are well equipped for a short stay and food is available if you want it. Restaurant is really great, although I didn't use it this trip.
I don't think the room had been used for a while and I was later checking in due to my flight which the hotel were aware of. Upon entering my room I found that the window had been left open, I guess to air, but this had made the room super cold it being February and a windy and cold evening. I turned the radiator on after shutting the window but it remained cold for most of the night, not helped by the fact that there appeared to be only a thin duvet on the bed and no extra bedding to add. I therefore didn't sleep particularly well the first night. The second night was then fine as I had left the heating on low throughout the day so I wouldn't have the same issue. I'd highly recommend that extra bedding is made available for guests, either a blanket or a thicker duvet for the winter months.
