About this cottage rental
Restored 1950 cottage combines Old Cape Cod charm with modern amenities and accessibility features. Ideally located steps from the harbor and ferries, 10 minutes walk to the beach, 18 minutes to downtown. Everything you need (groceries, restaurants, shops, recreation, entertainment) is under 1 mile distance.
Our 1200sf, 3-bedroom home suits 3 generations, from infants to grandparents, plus the family pet! We supply all the conveniences for a comfortable stay: central AC, WiFi, smart TV, high quality cotton sheets and towels, soaps, paper goods, pantry staples, and coffee for your first mornings. Ask about our “grocery concierge” service if you're traveling from afar. We live in Falmouth and respond promptly with help in trip planning, activities and local recommendations.
When you arrive, you'll pull into a paved driveway that fits 3 cars or a boat trailer. Feel the salt air from the harbor 150 yds away. That's where you'll go for your evening walk, to admire the yachts, to catch a Vineyard ferry, or for waterside dining and nightlife (April–Columbus Day). At the end of the driveway, a white picket gate leads to the fully fenced back yard, a secure play area for young kids or a small-to-medium dog.
Walk around to the front door where you'll be greeted with nautical flair. No need for a key; all entry doors have electronic locks that open with the 4-digit code you specify. If you require a zero-step entry ramp, just let us know.
Now step into the living room with original fir floors, pine woodwork and fireplace from 1950. Your group of 6 can comfortably relax together with enough area to set up the toddler train set or a vacation game of Twister. For entertainment, choose from 250 HD cable channels or your own smart TV app. Browse our collection of books and DVD's with Cape Cod, nautical and New England themes, as well as puzzles and games for all ages.
An arched ship's doorway connects to the all-new, modern kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, ceramic radiant cooktop, electric oven, fridge and freezer. It's finished with sand-colored granite counters, oyster shell backsplash, and brass boat cleat cabinet knobs. You'll find all the cookware and utensils needed for a lobster boil or anything else you want to cook or bake, whether indoors or on the gas grill. We stock a few coastal New England cookbooks and essential small appliances including toaster, tea kettle, Keurig and drip coffee makers, blender, rice cooker and small food processor (chopper).
A second arched doorway joins the sunny dining room. There's a sideboard and table seating 6-8, plus high chair and booster for the little ones. If you're here for a celebration, we have tablecloths, napkins, platters and servingware to host 12 guests. The back lawn can accommodate 20-30 for light refreshments outdoors.
The cottage is wheelchair-friendly with smooth flooring throughout, no transitions to bump over, wide 36” doorways and 42” hallway with LED night lighting. Both bathrooms are renovated with sparkling tile and fixtures. One was designed with non-slip tumbled marble, extra space around the high-height toilet, grab bars, and walk-in shower with teak seat and hand-held spray. The smaller bathroom is best suited for kids with standard-height toilet, original cast-iron tub, and a step stool to reach the sink. There's also a washer/dryer with laundry supplies, iron, ironing board, and hair dryer.
The “Keeper’s Quarters” is a cozy Queen bedroom in the traditional style of a seaside cottage and garden. It honors those who've tended Cape & Islands lighthouses since the 18th century, helping mariners navigate tricky currents, shoals and fog on local waters.
In the “Crew’s Nest” bedroom, rustic wood and iron accents feel like below decks on a galleon. The crew sleeps in bunks, of course, beside a map of Cape Cod's shipwrecks. Both beds are full/double size to accommodate pirates up to 5'7” tall.
At the stern of the cottage, the “Captain's Cabin” is our accessible bedroom with 3ft clearances around the lower-height Queen bed. A vaulted ceiling with beam, picture window and matching French door to the quarterdeck (patio) evoke the shipboard lifestyle of Cape Cod's whaling captains. There's room here for the pack'n'play crib. Note our house is rewired with all child-safe outlets.
Finally, step out on the patio. There's an umbrella table for al fresco dining or savoring a vacation cigar (no smoking indoors please). The outdoor shower features whale tail hooks, mahogany bench and floor that blends seamlessly into the patio.
Falmouth Heights Beach, one of Falmouth's finest, is exactly 1/2 mile from our door. Beach wheelchairs are available with ramp access to the sand. Historic homes and Falmouth Yacht Club are nearby.
It's 7 minutes walk to Windfall Market grocery and Harbor Marine Park, the site of Falmouth's farmers market (May–Oct), weekly summer concerts, and many outdoor events such as yoga, annual antiques fair, September's StriperFest fishing derby, and Seafaring Santa's December arrival. Seven minutes in the opposite direction takes you to more dining options, shopping, Starbucks, and the ballpark of our summer college-league Cape Cod Baseball team. Keep walking (18 minutes total) and you're in Falmouth Village center. Known for boutique shops and restaurants, the adjacent library lawn and Peg Noonan Park are the main venues for local events: from the Easter Egg Scramble to holiday parades (July 4th, Halloween, Christmas), ArtsFest, JazzFest, book fair and street fair, summer outdoor movies and lobster suppers, and much more. Behind the children's library are the summertime Carousel of Light and year-round nautical-theme playground.
Picturesque Woods Hole village is 5 miles away by bike or trolley, while Cape Cod's famed Old Silver Beach and Mashpee Commons upscale shopping center are 15 minutes by car. Our seaside New England town is the best of all worlds, and Falmouth Heights Cottage is perfectly situated to enjoy it all!

Everything was taken care of. A complete appointed cottage. Delightful holiday. Weather was hot but we always had a cool place to come home too.

We are already dreaming of coming back to Falmouth to stay at this rental! The yard was a perfect spot to relax after a day at the beach (and the perfect size for our two labs to run and play), the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed...comfortable beds and linens...I could go on and on! The location is incredble, too - just steps from the ferry to MV, or a 10 minute walk to seaside restaurants and a clean, wide, quiet beach... it was just perfect. Cannot recommend enough!

We had an excellent time at the Liptak house for Cape Cod Marathon weekend. It was close to multiple parts of the course so our family and friends could meet at the house and check me running at different locations. The house was charming and clean, it has an awesome fenced in yard for dogs. The grill was awesome and people grilled for me after the race. It’s convenient to everything; stop and shop, bars, local holes in the wall. I was able to try out the famous “DJ wings” after the race and I absolutely destroyed them after 26.2 miles. My boys LOVED having their own rooms and adores the legos and train tracks they found in the bunk bed room. They didn’t want to leave. This is definitely a great place for a small family vacation, but great for entertaining outside as well. The owners were nothing but wonderful with their communication and if you’re not familiar with Falmouth, they have a huge book of information for out of towners. Chris even gave me a route to make sure family and friends could loop around marathon traffic and make it to the house ok. Thanks again for the memories and I hope to go back soon!

The house was adorable and immaculate. Sometimes rentals that allow dogs you have to sacrifice some cleanliness. Not this rental!! Close to the beach and downtown. Lovely fenced in backyard. Host is amazing. I will most definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay, the house is so comfortable and within easy walking distance of everything we needed. We loved the ease of access to the beach and town and Starbucks, and also the comfort of the living room and back yard/outdoor shower. We all fell in love with the quality of linens throughout the house and it is thoughtfully stocked with enough of everything - including beach towels and chairs! The bed in the master wasn’t the most comfortable but our daughter raved about the bed in her room. Check in/out was effortless and the owners have got it down to a science. Loved our week in Falmouth!

Wonderful home base for our week in Cape Cod. The house was just as described. The backyard was perfect for our two dogs to run around sniffing out bunnies. The kitchen had all the tools we needed to make dinner a few nights. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. Chris was very responsive and gave us plenty of recommendations for exploring the town. Overall a great stay in Falmouth!

This property is super cute and cozy, a 5 minute walk to the ferry, and within walking distance to The Heights Beach. It was a great jumping off point to visit all of our favorite Cape spots and enjoy the end of day in the quiet fenced in back yard! Would definitely return!

This was our first time staying in Falmouth Heights and this house and the town did not disappoint. We vacationed here late August and it was perfect for our family of four and our dog. The house was ready early for us to move in and upon arrival it was so lovely to have a personalized letter and surprise for the kids. Every room was spotless and thoughtfully decorated. Communication with the owners was great. In addition to that, there are two binders at the house with plenty of useful information on restaurants and recreation. We very much appreciated all of the information on where to dine because our family enjoys a good meal. When we didn’t dine out we enjoyed our home cooked meals in the sun lit dining room or outside on the patio of the large fenced in yard. The location is outstanding. It is a short walk to the beach and restaurants. After so many years of having to drive to park and pay to go on the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard, it was awesome to walk around the corner and hop onboard. You are able to walk or take a short ride to every store you could want or need. It was great for our morning and evening strolls to the beach and marina. The house was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and it saved us a lot of room in our truck not having to bring our own beach chairs and cart. After every relaxing and fun day, we got to fall asleep on the super comfy beds and pillows. The sheets and blankets have me thinking that I have to up my own linen game back home. We did not want to leave. Even our pup seemed to be sulking when we left!

Very nice little Falmouth cottage
The property was clean and delightful. Our host, Chris, was a great communicator and very accommodating including leaving us his pizza stone and peel. Chris also provided some good info on where to eat in town. He also allowed us extra time before checking out. We highly recommend this rental property. And Falmouth is a charming little town on the cape and a quick ferry ride to Martha’s Vineyard.

This house is a gem - toddler friendly, large fenced in back yard for our small dog, walking distance to downtown Falmouth and beaches, easy walk to Martha’s Vineyard ferry, great wifi, central air, nautical decor, welcoming and responsive hosts, comfy beds and dreamy pillows, fluffy towels, smart TV, book of excellent local recommendations, it has it ALL. Would recommend in a heartbeat for any family.

We rented this home for our daughters baptism weekend and it offered everything we were looking for in a rental. The home is very clean and stocked with all towels, coffee maker and other appliances you could possibly need. The fenced in backyard and grill for BBQ's made it a great touch point for my family and their children to spend time together while in Falmouth. The house is in a great location too!

Wonderful getaway
The house was very clean and well-appointed. Chris and Annie really did think of everything one might need for a comfortable stay. We had a moment of panic when we realized we left coffee filters at home - not to worry, we found them in the cabinet!
We all loved the artwork and home decor. We felt right at home, especially in the sunny dining area - it's the same exact rug we have at home! The kids enjoyed the duplo blocks, train tracks and board games.
The house is close to everything, including a 10 minute walk to the beach. Chris was so helpful providing tips for things to do and places to eat.
Although it was a little cold and windy during our stay, we look forward to another getaway soon!

Ideal
We stayed here for a little over a week and completely loved it. The yard was perfect for the dogs and the layout of the home really allowed us to use the backyard as more of a courtyard that was part of our entire day. Everything was perfectly cleaned. We were able to walk to the beach in the mornings and downtown at night. The house is so well cared for and has these ornate finishings throughout that are just gorgeous. This was the perfect getaway!!

Great Place to Stay in Falmouth
This home is comfortable and clean. A lot of thought was put into what is provided to guests and we really appreciated it. The updated kitchen has a great variety of dishes, glasses, cookware and silverware/knife set. There is a nice sunroom with a table for six where we did a lot of card playing at night. Outside, fenced in yard was convenient to have. Nice, clean Weber grill with back up propane tank. This property is perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids. The bedroom with bunk-style full size beds were just a bit to small for adults, but that is mentioned in the information, so we were not taken by surprise.
The location was terrific. Walk to main street including Starbucks and Dunkin! The Falmouth beach right down the road was very nice. We were lucky enough to find metered parking very close to the beach and when we didn't, my husband dropped us off, drove back to the house and rode his bike (5 minutes) to join us.
The owners are very helpful and truly care about your comfort while staying at the house.
Thank you!

This home was perfect! Every room was immaculate and beautifully decorated; the kitchen was new and stocked with all you'd need to host a summer dinner. Location, location, location - its a short walk to the Island Queen to Martha's Vineyard! The beach, downtown Falmouth, and restaurants are within minutes of the property. I could go on and on; but let me just say we can't wait to return next summer!

Perfect Location And Wonderful Owners
My family and I enjoyed a fantastic long weekend in this charming and perfectly located home. The owners, Annie and Chris, went out of their way to help us get the most out of everything Falmouth has to offer and did a great job setting up the home for us. They even added a gift of wine and a book for our young daughter. I’ve used VRBO for years and this was the best of many positive experiences. Highly recommended!

We had such a wonderful time in the Cape this past weekend, this house is everything we could have asked for and more. The owners are very responsive and you can tell they take pride in their home. The location of this home is perfect too, right down the road one way to the beach and the other way is the town. If we come to the Cape again we would stay again :)
