This home is in a great location, nice hot tub and deck with a view of the lake, and provided a nice place to stay for the 4th of July weekend. However, without cable or WiFi the entire stay, it was pretty boring - no streaming, no music, just silence for four days! Several calls and countless text messages to Vacasa to try to get the issues resolved netted us nothing. Not the best experience with Vacasa where ordinarily they have been amazing. Provided cable and WiFi have been fixed, this would be a home I would rent again.

Loved that the property sits back away from others homes, fire pit was nice. Enjoyed time on the deck, and the dog gate was really nice. The kids enjoyed the basketball hoop, ping ball table, and throwing darts. Nice yard area, was also able to play corn hole. Kitchen was well stocked, nice bedrooms.
Unfortunately we did not have WiFi the entire time we was there, and was not able to watch tv, also the hot tub wasn’t clean.
Attempted to have someone correct these issues, but was told it goes by availability.

We came to town for a lacrosse tournament and found this lovely cabin. It was perfectly situated, great size, nice deck and hot tub. Communication was easy and we were completely satisfied. We would rent this place again when coming back to the area.

House was in a beautiful location, and had everything you would need as fair as kitchen supplies, games, etc. the first night we came (Sunday) we got early check in and arrived at 3. Vacasa reached out for us to rate our check in. We said there were a few things but we would take care of them. Then asked them about remote for main tv and cable, they had me searching for a nonexistent remote for a “cable” tv with no cable box. This was also verified by vacada during the chat. I then saw cockroaches and informed them. They said they were going to contact the local people and they would get back to me in the morning. Never heard anything Monday even after me reaching out to tell them the main bathroom toilet did not work they had me trouble shooting the water which it was fine it was faulty plumbing in the back of the toilet. Which they responded thanks for letting me know. I assumed this would be included in the report I already filed and would be addressed. Then Tuesday and still no call I reached back out and they said they would update the report. I have now checked out and still haven’t heard from them!!!!! It was also to enjoy the newly remodeled deck as there were carpenter bees burrowing holes all through the house.my husband is allergic to bees so didn’t want to risk it. Not to mention broken backboard on basket ball hoop shattered on the ground. This is fault of the vacation management, not owner, and I would love to share pictures and answer any other questions.

Overall the property was great. Nice location. Pictures were accurate. Very clean property. Fully stocked kitchen. Minor things didn't work.

First of all we couldn't get the door open with the code I was given. I was texting someone and they gave me two codes that did not work. I had to make a call to someone and he gave me an emergency code. It was raining and chilly out and we had my pregnant daughter and baby grandson with us -not happy.
THEN we had no cable on any of the TV's - I texted someone and they said there was no cable and the TV's could only use Blue Ray movies!!!
My husband and son were not happy that they could not watch the Kentucky Derby or golf on a rainy weekend.
The kitchen light was burned out
I didn't want to write a negative review on the website.
But the weekend started out on a bad note and the TV situation without a TV didn't help.
I would appreciate a $100 credit off of the total bill.
thank you

The hot tub was wonderful and quite spacious! Kitchen was well equipped, and a nice surprise was the gas grill with a propane tank already set for use. My boys loved the basement with the ping pong table, dart board, as well as the basketball and hoop outside. Bedding and sheets all smelled super fresh, and the beds themselves were very comfortable. Wonderful weekend getaway!

Very nice cabin, nice location. Very outdated in bathrooms and bedrooms. Bring extra towels, not enough for hottub.

We loved the early check in. They were also readily available if we had questions. We enjoyed our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The cabin was clean& very comfortable. The location was private and we really enjoyed sitting on the huge deck, enjoying the view of the lake (at a distance).Perfect for pups and humans alike. Any messages sent to property management were answered quickly. We would definitely stay there again!

The house was great. It had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked for all of our cooking and baking needs for the holidays

The property was very dirty and unsanitary. The carpets smelled awful and had pee stains on them, we rolled them up to put them aside and could see the stains going through them to the other side. The cups, silverware and dishes were put away dirty with dried food on them. The porch had cigarette butts and red cups by the hot tub. The fire pit had cups and trash around it as well. We go to Deep Creek the same time every year and have never had any problems like this, however this is also our first time staying at a Vacasa property. This house has potential to be a great place to stay, owners should really pay attention and make more of an effort to keep it clean. The gates to block the porch entrance was great, our dog was able to walk around and enjoy himself off the leash. The shower pressure was amazing and the beds were comfortable!

This home was great. Creek views and beautiful sunrise from the hot tub. Very close to Deep Creek state park. Kitchen was well stocked and basement lounge/ recreation area was a good bonus.

Very nice house. Good location, easy to find. Enjoyed our stay.

Property was as advertised and very clean. Appears that the owners are investing in many updates, so a lot of things were brand new. Overall, great location and vacation home.

We absolutely loved this place! Our trip was almost canceled due to impending tropical storm Ophelia! My son was traveling for his mountain biking race at the state park. The race was held and we weathered the storm! The house was great since we spent more time inside than we originally planned! The dogs loved the deck and we loved the gated aspect of it! House was clean and comfortable! The master bedroom upstairs was absolutely perfect as we were traveling with a 7 month old baby! The only thing that would have made this place absolutely perfect would be a bassinet already there! Maybe a basket ball too for the hoop! Hahha! It was great! Can’t wait to book again!

With some fixing up and maintenance, this would be a great place! We still enjoyed ourselves, just could of been a bit better.

Nice older dog friendly cabin in a peaceful area across the road from the lake.

We arrived at the property at check in time 4pm and the cleaning crew only just got started cleaning. We travelled a few hours to get here and we had food we needed to get into the refrigerator. We had to step over all the dirty laundry in the hallway to get to the kitchen. The cleaning crew didn’t seem to care one bit and made the statement “ we’re always late cleaning this house”. We were confused about why they would say that loud enough for paying guests to hear them. The house is very outdated. 3 days into our week stay the dishwasher started leaking all over the kitchen floor. The knives in the kitchen were dull and unusable. We had to go to the store and buy our own set just so we didn’t cut ourselves. Property management was a pleasure working with and handled everything we asked for and needed. They didn’t supply us with enough towels and wash cloths at first but brought us more during the week. We were told the owner of this house doesn’t really care about it and after that we just noticed everything that could be updated, replaced, or just removed. Apparently this is the “party house” and we could only imagine what the stains on all the furniture are from. All in all I would not recommend staying at this property. You’re better off with a more updated and looked after property for the money you’re going to spend. A place that the owner takes all pride in renting out to paying guests

Lovely property with a 'peek through the trees' view of Deep Creek Lake. Wonderful deck with a hot tub. Beds were comfortable and setup of house was lovely
6.0
this house/property is very close to Deep Creek amenities such as iconic restaurants
unfortunately, there is no unobstructed view of the lake and no direct access
the house is surrounded by private property which are beautiful but do not offer a way to get to the lake as property renters
the house could/should be nicer, updated and cleaned, additional amenities such as ready fire wood, and an umbrella or awning on the deck would be nice
the heating/ac units in each level were confusing or malfunctioning, some/many cleaning details should be addressed
of course it was affordable and offered a great lodging to gather

Had a great time staying here for four days for our friends birthday weekend. The house had an awesome view of the lake and was five minutes from all of the restaurants and bars. The deck was our favorite feature and was gated so my dog could stay outside with us. The kitchen had a large number of pots, pans, and other cooking items that made our stay easy.
When we arrived the hot tub was not full yet but the technician was there within minutes of arrival and filled it and had it running for us in no time! Next time we are in Deep Creek we will be staying here again!

This property is a home away from home. Everything you need the unit has. The location was beautiful. Nice lake views. We had a wonderful vacation.

Very nice cozy cabin. The only thing I didn't like is I couldn't contact anyone other than a call center in India when I had questions.

Spacious house in a great location. Pretty much as advertised. Very comfortable for a family of 4. 4 stars instead of 5 as the house could use some upgrades as it seems well worn. But overall would stay again.

My teens and I enjoyed the home for a weekend of snowboarding and skiing at Wisp. The location is very convenient to Wisp and Deep Creek restaurants and attractions. Though we read prior comments about the furnishings being dated, as they say - you get what you pay for. The fancier homes in the area are way more expensive and we found the property to be an excellent value.
8.0
The location was perfect for us. Away from the dense condos in McHenry but only 15-min to Wisp. Our family loves hiking, so the woods surrounding the property were a lovely perk for us. The home could use some small aesthetic touches, e.g. touching up the paint on the walls, but nothing was uncomfortable or disappointing. My feedback for the host would be to provide coffee filters for the machine (the percolator only makes 1 c at a time) and to ensure the thermostat remotes have charged batteries—or make replacement batteries available. We ended up swapping batteries from the basement thermostat remote for the main level.

Dated house and photos are no true to inside or out
Grass was over 2 feet high when we arrived
Could not get to the fire pit
Deck was in unsafe condition
We left a day early

We had a great 25th Anniversary gathering. Wish they would’ve supplied the first round of firewood. The furniture isn’t that comfy but overall, it was a great time, great place and great accommodations.
6.0
The home is clean for the most part, throw pillows could use some vacuuming as we saw some hair on them. It is spacious, comfortable beds and enough linens. Kitchen is well equipped although we didn’t cook a lot.
The “but” part is here
The water pressure was very low the first evening and the next day. So low that the upstairs bathroom flush wasn’t working or if one showers in one bathroom the other showers are practically unusable or literally dripping.
All the jets in the hot tub were not functional but we took turns in sitting in the 2 corners that they were working in.
We called about water pressure and they sent someone immediately. So the response part is good but the cell signal is so spotty that the call with the guy who is about to come to fix dropped frequently. I am still not sure if somebody really came or not also.
All in all, a nice, comfortable place but it is a bit pricey for the quality, specially for some people water problem is a big deal.

Heater in top bedroom did not work and my parents were cold at night. Overall nice experience, the cabin was beautiful. The deck issue mentioned in previous reviews seemed to have been addressed (brand new deck with no structural issues). Thank you!

Though the house was clean inside, the outside is not in good shape. Lawn is overgrown where fire pits sits, deck is rotted in places and very splintery. Lots of spider webs and moss. Hot tub was not usable per the tech that happened to come service it as we were about to try it., he drained and put in chemicals and said would need to wait until next day, which is when we were checking out. The is no dock access to the lake as listed in the description. The inside was comfortable, we were just disappointed in how the house was described with regard to outside use verses the reality.

Overall, we had an OK stay at 29 Aker Wood. As soon as we got there, a guy was filling the hot tub and said the heater wasn't working and a tech would be out the next morning to fix it. The next morning came and no tech. I received a text that morning from Vacasa asking how my stay was going. I told them about the hot tub. They said a tech would be out the next morning. The next morning came and no tech. Instead of promising a repair, why not just say that we won't have a hot tub. That is better than anticipating a repair and not getting one. In addition, the grass was high, we couldn't get the basement TV to work, the top floor shower would not stay on and we had low water pressure everywhere else when running the dishwasher or washing machine. But there was some good about our stay as well. It was close to everything. The AC worked very well. It has a large deck with plenty of chairs. We used the kitchen and enjoyed the fire pit. We didn't expect the place to be perfect, but don't make promises that you can't fulfill.
