About this cottage rental
Step back in time at Rockview, a summer cottage built circa 1900 as a summer getaway for a local Keeseville family and maintained to this day by that same family. Enjoy Rockview's semi-private cove and sand beach, our 25 foot shared boat dock, dark summer skies, and all the wonders of nature in the Adirondack Mountains. Highlights include a fully screened in porch with a panoramic view of Lake Champlain, a location far away from the noise and bustle of cities (although you will hear a train pass through now and again), comfortable sleeping arrangements, a fully equipped kitchen, porch swing, and our beautiful lakefront yard with whispering pines, birds, hammock, and Adirondack chair seating.
The cottage's main source of water is pumped from the lake. The lake water is safe for bathing and cleaning dishes (both hot and cold water service provided). Drinking/cooking water should be carried in.

Beautiful views; kitchen well stocked with dishwear, pans, knives etc; sandy beach. Wonderful house to stay in for a week in the summer. Good hikes near by too.

Quiet spot on the lake. Beautiful views, lovely little beach cove. Water pressure was surprising at times (trickle or explosion!) but otherwise a sweet rustic spot to spend the week.

This is a perfect getaway! The setting is absolutely serene and stunning. The cottage is nestled on a rock overlooking the lake, and is very private. A winding and scenic path takes you down to a sandy beach, in a beautiful little cove.
The cottage itself is well supplied and very comfortable! It has a rustic charm to it. The large screened in porch was a great place to spend time as a family. This was an actually very relaxing vacation!

Clean. Chic. Restful. Family camp or couple’s retreat. A private gem on a quiet cove among the pines. Nearby hiking trails, bike routes, swimming and as many active or quiet pursuits as you can fit into your stay.
The house is not furnished with modern amenities but washing your own dishes is a worthy endeavor after enjoying a meal overlooking the lake.

Rockview was just what I was looking for - a nice, quiet place for my family to spend a week together on the lake. The cabin was very quaint, and the screened-in porch was the perfect spot to relax. Your neighbors are not right on top of you, and there's no traffic going by. There is plenty of privacy. And we all loved the little cove by the water. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to make it there again.

We spent our time at the cottage overlooking the lake swimming, reading, knitting, kayaking, cooking, and watching the natural landscape.

It's a "camp" in the Adirondack tradition. Rustic, old, no A/C or granite countertops...think wide-plank painted floors and claw-foot tub. We like amenities when we pay for them anyway but are not "amenity-driven" travelers. Rockview satisfies at the most elemental level. The view, the view, AND did I mention the VIEW? The panorama is absolutely stunning and gives new meaning to the term "binge-watching". The beach is great too and we got good use from the kayaks. I can't imagine a better place to "wile" away the days/nights than Rockview...any time of year!

Charming vintage Adirondack camp on lake Champlain
Rockview is a great rental; clean, comfy, with a vintage appeal. It's in a terrific natural setting right on Lake Champlain. It also has something you don't often find on a lake: a beautiful sandy beach. The Host, Jim, was very accommodating. Great place to relax.

Picture perfect cottage with rock and lake view!
We had a wonderful time. The location was perfect and the cottage reminded us of our grandparents home in our childhood. The lake view from the cottage was awesome and the beach was very good. Kids had lot of fun in the beach and adults too. The pizza from Giuseppe's Pizza Shop was very delicious too. Overall we all had a great time! Thank you again Jim for sharing your cottage with us!

So happy to be able to stay at Rock View again this fall, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Lake Champlain. It’s a perfect location, and the view and beach cannot be beat. Jim is a wonderful host, and I’m looking forward to staying at Rock View again next year.

Rockview Lake Cha
We searched among many places and the setting for Rockview just grabbed us. Everything in the listing more than met our satisfaction. The only thing lacking in the listing is how truly spectacular the beach is. Our dogs loved it too.

We love it here!
While we were only there for three days, we absolutely loved Rockview and wish we could have stayed longer! It was like stepping back into time, and you can sense what a meaningful retreat this has been for many, many families. Thank you for sharing this special place with us, we hope to come back one day! The location of the cabin is spectacular and it is well stocked and comfortable. Good quality towels and linens included.Remembering it is a rustic cabin with old-world charm lets one overlook some minor inconveniences like no drinkable water on tap, very low water pressure for the shower, etc. . We were very grateful that Wifi was added this year and worked great!Overall, we had a very good week as a family sheltering together in the pandemic. We had the beach to ourselves most of the time and enjoyed swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. The kitchen is very workable to cook in and well stocked, but if you want to order pizza , we recommend Guiseppe's pizza in Keeseville!!

Peace and tranquility - with a view!
I was looking for a place to unwind and recharge, and Rock View was perfect. The view is magnificent, and I spent countless hours on the screen porch - reading, listening to the lake & wildlife, watching the birds (including a Bald Eagle that landed in a tree in front of the house!) and sailboats make their way up and down the lake.
The beach was a short (but kind-of steep) walk from the house, and we spent many hours enjoying the sandy cove, and were almost always the only folks there.
It is truly a wonderful house and location, and I hope to stay again next year,

Had a great week. Loved watching the mist burn off the lake each morning. Didn’t realize how far the beach was.

4 day stay
Very private, cozy and clean. Nice beach area . Didn’t know there was no campfires on property ,and didn’t see that there was a signed agreement with what was allowed and what was expected till 2 day into stay. Just a Suggestion post do’s and do nots on site so renters are aware of what to expect when arriving. Other than that stay was great, nice place Jim look forward to staying again next summer. 5 stars

Amazing family getaway
My husband and I grew up in this area and were looking for a cabin on the lake to stay at with our kids while visiting my parents. Rock view was perfect! The cottage was adorable and super well stocked. Jim (the owner) was super responsive to our questions. The giant screened porch had amazing views - we ate all of our meals there. The private beach and cove were perfect for our kids, as the water was relatively shallow and calm. They played in the sand, swam, paddle boarded....endless hours of fun. We did share the beach for a bit with the neighbors, but they were extremely friendly and welcoming. There were also many occasions when we had it to ourselves. We really loved our time at the cottage and made so many wonderful memories. We can't wait to return and stay longer! Thank you for helping us share this beautiful lake and area with our kids - so much wonderful nostalgia for us!

Wonderful cabin in gorgeous setting
We’d never visited the area so weren’t sure what to expect but the host was very helpful and available for our questions. We flew into Burlington, rented a car and took the ferry over from Charlotte to Essex. It’s a half hour ride and so pretty in the summer! We were delighted that the cabin was just as described and just as reviewed by previous guests. Very clean and cozy with a gorgeous view of Lake Champlain that really comes to life as the sun rises in the mornings and is lovely to take in as you enjoy time in the hammock or a meal on the screened porch. It’s a short walk down a mossy path to a bay shared with just a few other cabins but we had it all to ourselves the week we were there. The cabin had many beds upstairs so we hope to bring the whole family back in the future. There is everything you could need in the cabin for making meals, playing in the water on inner tubes or lounging with a good book. The gravel road leading to the cabin makes for a nice walk along the railroad tracks and the occasional trains were such nice soothing sounds to hear during our stay. Easy drives to AuSable Chasm and the Champlain Valley is amazing in summer. Couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience and hope to return next year.

The house was very nicely maintained. Clean with everything needed. The beach was also nice and sandy although it was not out in front..you had to walk down a bit for it.

fun time at a nice cabin
Rockview cottage was a great place. Nice floorplan, room for a family for sure, and plenty of activities within the cabin should the weather not cooperate (books, games, tv w dvd etc). AWESOME VIEW. The lake is beautiful, and at night you can see the city of Burlington across the lake. Very much worth the price. A great choice if you are looking to unwind from work and everyday life.

A great place to escape from it all!
Rockview was a perfect escape for a week. We had four adults, two kids, and a dog. Plenty of space with room to spare. We loved eating breakfast at the table out in the front yard, with breezy dinners on the screened porch. We had the beach to ourselves every day, though we would have gladly shared it! The kids loved the beach, and the inner tubes supplied by the property were a huge hit! We brought a canoe, which allowed us to explore the lake a little too. The cabin is 20 minutes from town - quite convenient for those that like to get away. We enjoyed day trips to Fort Ticonderoga, Plattsburgh, Montreal, and Vermont. Our stay was over too soon! We'll be back!

A Little Bit Of Heaven
We enjoyed our stay at Rockview so much. It was like ""a little piece of Heaven" . The cottage provided everything we could possibly need. The views of the lake were fantastic. We were able to bring our dog, Mimi, and she swam ran around in the yard and played with the Chipmunks. She loved it too. My partner proposed to me while we were there so it was very, very special and we will remember this week forever! Thank you, Jim and Joanne, for letting us use your getaway cottage for our special week.

Charming and peaceful retreat!
This very quaint cottage has spectacular views and is very comfortable! Although the cottage is old and a bit rustic in parts, the owners have really done a lot to update and maintain it! The beautiful view from the spacious and comfortable screened it porch is unlike any we've encountered (and we stay in a lot of lake houses). The mountains and sailboats only add to what is already so picturesque. Several of the photos I took I'm thinking of framing! We didn't want to leave this lakeside paradise and we hope to go back soon!

A true Gem!
Our stay at Rockview Cottage was exceptional. We filled up on “Calm”, “Beauty” and “Nature”. We didn’t venture out at all – even though there’s quite a lot to do around – as we didn’t want to leave this oasis. The lake and its views were breathtaking and the pine tree forest had such a soothing presence. Birds songs filled the silence, trees swayed in the wind and the air had the delicate and enchanting aroma of pine. The century-old cottage was absolutely charming. It offered all the commodities of home but with a rustic, antique feel that took us back in time. The screened-in porch was a big hit for us! Thank you for sharing your home. We will definitely be back!

A Perfect Summertime Getaway!
We had a wonderful stay at Rockview Cottage last summer! My husband and I rented this cottage for a week with our two grandsons, aged 7 and 11. The weather all week was sunny and warm. We ate every meal on the screened-in porch overlooking the beautiful lake. What fun we had with the boys fishing off the rocks in front of the camp, paddle-boating, swimming and lounging at the beach, walks on the camp road and exploring the woods! We had a memorable excursion to nearby Ausable Chasm for a walking tour and tubing down the river. The cottage was very clean and well-maintained with a full kitchen equipped with all the gadgets and baking dishes you could ever want--and we ate really well during our stay so we used a lot of them! The bedrooms are cozy with comfortable beds, great pillows and lovely handmade quilts. Jim, our host, was so helpful and responsive--he clearly wanted us to enjoy our stay at Rockview Cottage and took extra effort to make sure we had everything we needed while we were there--including directions to local attractions (Ausable Brewery) and suggestions for fun excursions (the Chasm and the ferry to Burlington)! We already have our week booked for next summer! Thank you--highly recommend!!!
