This house is as pictured. It is comfortable but a bit dated. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is stocked and has what you need to cook but could use some new frying pans. The outdoor BBQ is nice to have. It is almost 3 miles up from the Lake - but if you want to hike or mountain bike the rim trail is pretty close- 2 blocks away. The neighborhood is very quiet.

We were drawn to Carraig Nua due to its proximity to the Tahoe Rim Trail, and the house exceeded our expectations in that regard and many others. It is just around the corner from a trailhead leading you to the beautiful Paige Meadows section of the TRT. We enjoyed morning hikes right out the front door. The house is ideally situated near Tahoe City, and we enjoyed dining, shopping and strolling the boardwalk in town. It was also convenient for day trips to Olympic Valley (Palisades Tahoe resort), South Lake Tahoe (where we did a boat cruise to Emerald Bay and more) and even to Virginia City, NV, a fun Old West town with an interesting history in gold and silver mining. And we have to mention the home's close proximity to the Tahoe House Bakery and Gourmet - we stopped there nearly every morning for coffee and muffins, or later in the day to pick up lunch and cookies. (Get the Pecan Tea Cakes!) Aside from its prime location, the house itself was immaculate - very clean and tidy. It was well-stocked with paper goods, cleaning supplies, and kitchen essentials, including spices, etc. The furnishings were comfortable, and the decorative touches were charming and aesthetically pleasing. Despite the July heat and mid-day temperatures in the 90s, the downstairs rooms remained cool and pleasant. We spent most mornings and evenings on the back deck, which was furnished comfortably, with a shade tarp and string lights that created a cozy ambiance. We loved our stay! Thank you, Laura!

This property is incredibly cozy and well equipped with all the necessary amenities. There is plenty of room to house many people in lots of different contexts (bedrooms, large living and dining room, and an upstairs workspace). The hosts go above and beyond to make the house welcoming and comfortable during the stay. It would be helpful if the kitchen cabinets included labels just because there are a lot of great amenities provided. Overall, we were thrilled with our stay and hope to return for another excellent getaway!

It was nestled in a beautiful location, offering stunning views and easy access to outdoor activities. Booking process was smooth, and the host was accommodating and responsive, ensuring we had all the information we needed for a memorable stay. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in Tahoe!

This is a Beautiful Amazing Home! The home was very clean and well stocked. We could not have asked for a better location. Overall, a wonderful place; we would stay here again easily! Laura was a great host! Responded very quickly and was very accommodating to our needs/requests. Check-in instructions were super detailed and helpful.

We really loved our stay. The house was very cozy and comfortable. It exceeded our expectations. It was clean and provided for all our needs. Lots of towels, toilet paper, cooking utensils, etc.. made it convenient. While we didn’t cook much, it made making breakfast easy. It was a 20 min drive to Palisades and a few minutes to town via car.
Laura was so easy to work with and made check in and check out easy. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you so much!

Would absolutely book this cabin again. Possibly the cleanest vacation rental we've stayed at. It was perfect for us as two couples. Kitchen is very well equipped to cook meals. Beautiful view and deck to enjoy. The only thing that would make it better would be if we could walk to the lake. But, it is a short drive down to the lake and you are close to everything!!

We had a lovely time at Lake Tahoe. We look forward to visiting again with our California friends.

Laura was a great host with easy and practical instructions on opening/closing their cabin. The place was spotless and tidy and perfect for my friend and me. It's also close to Sunnyside restaurant for meals and boating. Clean fresh air, whistling pines, quiet neighbors, Laura and her family have a wonderful spot to stay on Lake Tahoe's west shore.

We really enjoy staying at this property. The home is very clean and we really like the quiet location. It’s very comfortable and easy to feel at home right away. This was our second time booking and we’ll probably be back again.

Property was as described and VERY comfortable! Communal areas (entire top floor) was huge with lots of board games, videos, lounging space and massive kitchen. Sleep areas were very comfortable and the mattresses were great!! The drive from the main road to this place looks short buts it’s very long and all uphill. No problem for us but we saw lots of stuck cars as we got closer. Cars without AWD/4WD didn’t stand a chance and even 2 Subaru’s got stuck as they didn’t have enough ground clearance for all the snow that fell while we stayed there. Will definitely stay again!!

We had a perfect visit to Tahoe at this cabin. The place is one of the cleanest cabins I have rented in Tahoe. It was very well equipped (kitchen, extra towels, throw blankets, games, books, movies) which kept our group of 4 adults and 4 small children perfectly happy over our 4 day stay. Parking in the garage was very appreciated during the heavy snow we experienced while there. The backyard opens up to a very large open space. One thing to note, it is relatively flat, so you have to search a bit to find any slopes to craft a sled run for the kids. If this cabin is available for future trips, I'd book it in a heartbeat.

We had a great stay here with my family of 4 and my friend’s family of 4. We had lots of space to hangout and the foosball table was fun in the loft. There were also lots of games and dvds to watch. They had a smart tv, but we brought our appletv to hook up so we could be set. The kitchen was stocked with whatever you needed including a popcorn machine. The kids loved playing in the snow in the backyard which we accessed on the side of the front entrance. We made a makeshift sled area (sleds provided by the rental) and an igloo. There was so much snow! Overall we had a great stay and would come again!

The house is stocked with all the bare necessities. Home is in a wonderful location perched above in the hills. The home was very comfortable and had a great living room set up with gorgeous views. A wonderful display during the storm. Laura was easy to reach when needed. We really enjoyed staying here and would not hesitate renting from Laura again.

It was our first time driving up to Tahoe
The roads were cleared from snow but the property driveway had lot of snow and the car got stuck. The instructions to get in were confusing and we arrived very early and has to call the owner it did took us a good 10 to 15 minutes to get in also the tv downstairs wasn’t a smart TV and can only watch dvds other then that we enjoy our stay also just FYI bring your own trash bags.

We had a beautiful vacation in a winter wonderland. The home is spacious and with plenty of places to relax or play games.
We snow boarded and went tubing at Palisade’s, which is an easy 15 minute drive.
Highly recommend and we hope to visit again in Summer 2023.

Everything is right about this rental property. This is the 3rd time we have rented it for our Granddaughter's Birthday. This is a hidden gem amount the tall redwoods.

We loved this home and the area. Very convenient for shopping and restaurants and lots of hiking opportunities. Unfortunately, withe Mosquito fire blowing smoke this direction, we were not able to enjoy outdoor activities. However, we enjoyed the games at the house (Trivial Pursuit) and watching movies on the smart TV with easy log into our own Amazon Prime, but I belive the Netflix was already active. Would stay here again and highly recommend. Oh, and felt extra safe with the bear fence around the house!

All members of the family really enjoyed our 2 week stay in this home. Unfortunately, the smoke from the second Yosemite fire did affect us for a few days towards the end of our stay, but we were able to adjust our plans and the air quality did improve with time. We especially enjoyed the deck overlooking large evergreens and the spaciousness the home provided, as one family member worked. The home was very clean, wifi excellent, and the kitchen well stocked. It is high up on a hill so we were able to enjoy easy walking and fun mountain bike paths in the meadows right outside our door, a real plus. Sunnyside offers many amenities including good restaurants, a great small market and a state park with a pebbly beach but good swimming. It is close to Tahoe City and its amenities and we were able to do a lot of great hiking within an hour of the home. The host was extremely helpful and prompt in replying to questions. We couldn't have asked for a better experience in this wonderful home.

Fantastic stay at Lake Tahoe
Our group traveled to the area for the Tahoe 200 mile race. The house was in the perfect location, just 10 minutes from the start/finish at Homewood. The house was wonderful. Plenty of space. Many kitchen gadgets. One of the toilet bowl handles was broken when we arrived, the owner communicated with us quickly. Thanks for a great stay!

We had a spectacular time vacationing in Tahoe at this location. The house is spacious and beautiful. It is ideally located both close to amazing hikes, beaches, and Tahoe City. We cannot wait to visit again.

Stunning!
I sought a quiet place to relax and provide a location to organize before running the Western States 100. This did not disappoint being well appointed, comfortable, and convenient with incredible access to trails essentially right out of the door. I would have no hesitation staying again.

The cabin and more like a house was truly paradise and beautiful beyond words. It was so quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area . The place was modern, updated and turnkey on all levels and decorated to the highest level. The place was well kept up and clean beyond words. Special attention was taken to details to make for a perfect rest in the forest. t
The owners had all the kitchen appliances and utensils needed to cook and a wonderful patio to BBQ and relax under the trees. WE would definitely stay here again in a minute.....our only concern was the code to enter the property was wrong and we were delayed getting in which seemed to be a communication problem with VRBO. One should search out this property for a family or couple to enjoy! dont wait....book your time away ! WE will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was very clean, comfortable, and spacious. We loved the quiet location that was just up the hill from Fire Sign and a short drive to downtown. I think we all slept better than we have in months! My teenager loved using the loft as a personal hangout and my tween liked the bunks and many kids DVD movies. We’ve stayed in Tahoe City several times and this was one of favorite rentals. We hope to return.

We absolutely loved the house - which is larger than the pictures suggest if you ask me - and the grounds make it perfect for a little kids snow trip. Beautiful snowy forest views from the living room! Very well stocked kitchen and pantry which we appreciated. We were 2 families of four and felt that we had plenty of room. All four kids enjoyed their first foray into the snow and had SO much fun doing all the snow things: snowmen, sledding, snowball fights, and we didn’t even have to get in the car. Storybook vibes! Also you could tell that it was owned by a family, not a property management company, which is increasingly a rarity with vacation rentals. The owner is a gem! We’d stay again in a second!

Another great staty at this hidden gem
This is truly a hidden gem of a property. It is located right next to an open wilderness area that you can take a wonderful walk through the snow or meadows in the summer. We've been here three times, twice in the snow and once in the summer. All three visits were fantastic and we can't wait to visit again. The house was clean and in great condition and stocked with basic essentials. For this last visit we stayed a full week and wished we could have stayed longer. It was a perfect get away for our family.
