Dos Palmas Casita is located in a nice residential neighborhood with great neighbors, a mix of local residents and rental properties.
There are dogs, cats, chickens, horses, coqui, iguanas, and mongoose that freely roam Vieques, and at times the neighborhood as well. You will undoubtedly see and hear several varieties of Vieques wildlife during your stay. It's totally different than our neighborhood in the states, and that's why we love it as we do
TRAVELING TO VIEQUES-
Vieques can seem to be a little daunting to get to at first glance, the good news is that once you do arrive you won't want to leave!
There are several options in traveling from SJU to Vieques, and the price for each can vary greatly. When guests book with us we send them an email detailing the options available, along with the most up to date pricing to help them decide which option would work best depending on their budget and travel times.
Thank You for considering our vacation Casita.

Not as advertised. Found out upon checking in that backyard with grill and outdoor shower were off-limits for our stay. TV in the bedroom of a 2-room apt. Is understandable, if the tv actually works without the help of the owner. AC was unable to maintain less than 76 degrees after the first night. I made 2 requests regarding if there was a secret to getting the tv to work, but owner had other things on her mind I think. She did assist in getting it to work on our last night. We wouldn't return for another stay for half the cost. I'll definitely ask more questions if we elect to use a vrbo facility again.

This place is so close to the beach, restaurants and grocery store. 2 minute walk to beach! Angie is the best!!!! You will not regret staying here!

Our stay here was pleasant! We apparently scheduled our vacation during peak hurricane season (our mistake). The rain from tropical storms Danielle and Earl was actually very refreshing. Our stays were in both the bottom and top apartment and both were equipped with the perfect essential utilities and amenities for both kids and adults. I was thankful that they supplied LED battery operated emergency lights because we did lose power and of course we didn’t have our cell phones charged enough to use the phone flash light! Their towels prepped for us smelled so good! The owners and property manager, Miguel were all great! Miguel especially was awesome. He was there to greet us upon pulling up to the driveway as he lives across the street with his lovely wife. Miguel was attentive and so friendly and helpful. His smile was so welcoming! This place was also conveniently located to what is pretty much the only strip of currently open bars and “night life” during this time of year. Everything else was pretty much closed or closed before or by 8pm. The strip was a 5 minute walk and there was always one place open until 2am some nights a little later. Great music and the people here for the most part were so friendly too. If you’re looking for a safe, secure, clean and welcoming stay, these two apartments are it!

What a fun little town! The restaurants and excursions were excellent! The beaches are incredibly beautiful and we were often the only ones on them. What a magical visit!

Piece of Paradise
Lovely apartment less than 5 minutes from the main strip in Esperanza, but secluded enough for quiet nights. Gated driveway for a rental car/golf cart, outdoor hose and shower to rinse of sand, full-size fridge, plenty of fans throughout and a/c in the bedroom. A plethora of beach chairs and coolers are available for use, along with laundry on-site.

Clean + comfy beach respite
For a couple, it was spacious and very clean. My wife is a bit of a germaphobe and she felt extremely comfortable. It was well stocked with everything from sunscreen and bug spray to shampoo, and even nail polish remover. Even if something isn't there, you are right around the corner from the local store. The neighborhood is great - you are a 5 min walk from the Malecon, near different beaches, and are part of a nice residential community where you feel very safe. There are a lot of stray animals in the neighborhood but they do not pose any danger to you if you don't bother them. Chip and Angie were so helpful with making sure we checked in ok and gave recommendations as to where to go in the area, and were happy to talk to us before we took our trip and when we arrived. Miguel, the property manager, lives right across the street and was very friendly and available to answer questions and help out. If you need an affordable place to go and relax for a week, this is the place to do it.

Amazing stay in Esperanza!
We had an amazing stay at Chip and Angies rental in Esperanza! Great location - the unit is exceptionally clean and has everything you could possibly need. The kitchen was fully stocked (pots, pans, utensils, etc.), and they had everything you'd want for the perfect beach day (snorkels/fins, chairs, cooler, etc).
Chip and Angie are extremely quick to respond and were amazing to provide all the details prior to arrival. Miguel the property manager was equally great! He greeted us upon arrival and showed us all around, and just across the street if we ever needed anything.
Would highly recommend staying here!

Love this place!
This property was GREAT! The neighborhood it was in definitely have a laid back vibe. There is a store mere steps away. To get to beach and the strip of restaurants and bars is also a very easy walk. I HIGHLY recommend it and would absolutely book here again. Ps Miguel, who watches the property, lives across the street and is SUPER HELPFUL!

Wonderful spot, short safe walk to Esperanza
Cute and clean place to stay. Comfortable bed, clean sheets. Kitchen had everything we needed for a three night stay. We borrowed cooler, beach chairs and towels for day trips. Owners Chip and Angie were awesome with communications and Miguel across the street was very attentive. Great place. No complaints. Thank you.

IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
This house has the perfect location. You feel like you are hanging out in the local neighborhood. The local grocery store, the malecon, and most restaurants are easy walking.. The property manager lives across the street and is a wealth of information. The house is well stocked with everything you might need. We loved it!

Amazing Experience
Chip & Angie were fantastic hosts! Their communication was the best I’ve ever experienced across all platforms! Miguel (the neighbor) was amazing and checked in with us anytime he saw us outside! The beach & food recommendations of Chip & Angie were spot on. Loved the location & we definitely used the beach chairs & a cooler for our longer beach days! The only downfall was the roosters at all hours of the night, but there were earplugs next to the bed to use! We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Vieques!

Perfect Getaway
This was an awesome place in the beach town of Esperanza. The apartment had all the things we needed to be comfortable. It was super clean. We used the snorkeling gear, beach chairs, coolers and disc golf gear. There were also beach towels. The grilling area in the back patio was like a private secret garden. The bed was super comfortable. We did not use the air conditioner and were plenty comfortable with just the overhead fan. Great water pressure and hot water in the shower. The kitchen had a great set of non-stick pans and the gas stove made cooking easy. I can’t say enough about our hosts. Chip and Angie gave us spot on recommendations for directions and options to get to Vieques. The taxi driver they recommended was perfect. The location in the village was perfect for walking to the store the beach and restaurants. Amazing place, great VRBO experience.

My bucket trip to paradise.
The accommodations where exactly as pictured and described. Vieques has always been a paradise to me. The island has peaceful and serene vistas of the Caribbean that inspires awe and joy to the viewer. However, the real strength of this property is the owners. They where quickly responsive to request from us and unbelievable in their kind offers of help during the early days of the coronavisus and the uncertainties of possible restrictions that might hinder our travel from the island and to home.

Perfect Place to Stay!
Beautiful home located in Esperanza! Very short walk to the Malecon with local shopping and dining. All of that right on the water. Store right around the corner from the house for just about everything you may need and then some. Home located far enough away from Malecon and night life to get a good nights rest. Awesome place with many amenities put in place. Great experience and look forward to staying again. Chip and Angie have a Beautiful piece of Paradise in Vieques, PR! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Close to the beach and main strip
Chip and Angie were understanding and communicative hosts, providing a smooth checkin process and even letting us know before our trip that the recent earthquakes had no lasting visible effects on Vieques. The space was handy for making simple breakfast and keeping water cold in the fridge and freezer. The available beach chairs and snorkeling gear was a huge convenience. The location on a residential street made for quick and easy walks to the beach and main strip of restaurants in Esperanza. There were also guests in the separate lodging upstairs, but the most noise we encountered was from a neighbor and roosters. There were only shutters and screens on the windows, no glass panes, but the air conditioning unit and fans kept us cool. Thanks Chip and Angie for a wonderful place to stay!

Paradise
The place was perfect. So close to town, two blocks. The shop is so close that it wasn’t a big deal to run and grab stuff as we went. Just a short drive to many great beaches. I loved the location and amenities. Just perfect. We’ll definitely be back!!

A Great Place to Stay on Vieques!
This was our second time staying at Dos Palmas (and our third time visiting Vieques). From the get-go, Chip and Angie were extremely prompt at communicating and they sent lots of helpful information for our trip.
Miguel met us when we arrived and gave us a thorough tour of the house. Just like our last time here, the house had everything we needed -- plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, and lots of household and toiletry items to make our stay comfortable. And, it’s so convenient to have the washer and dryer! Each unit has an air conditioner, but the breezes and fans keep the house nice and cool, so no AC was necessary! Everything was super clean and well maintained. The decor is lovely and the furniture is comfy -- it really feels like a home.
We spent lots of time on the front porch -- we love watching the happenings of the neighborhood. The back yard is very nice with a covered patio, large gas grill and the outdoor shower. We didn't use the back too much because we like to be out front where the action is. But, for people who prefer a little more privacy, the back would be excellent.
The location of Dos Palmas is wonderful -- right around the corner from Colmado Lydia and the bakery, not far from the beautiful and well maintained playground, and only a few minutes walk to the Malecon. But, it's far enough from the "hustle and bustle" that it's a peaceful place to come home to.
Thanks, Chip and Angie, for sharing your home with us. We would recommend Dos Palmas to anyone -- it truly was perfect!

Great 4 days in Vieques!
Chip and Angie's place really added to my enjoyment of Vieques. Great location - 2 min from Malecon, store around the corner. Everything needed was provided (beach chairs, coolers, sunscreen, etc.). Miguel was super friendly and the place was very clean and comfortable. I will definitely be checking availability when I return for my next trip!

A great place for a couple to unwind in this little island Paradise!
This property is a shining star in this community! Well maintained and no signs of the recent island hurricane damage. Everything you could possibly need was provided, even shampoo & soap! It tended to get a little noisy at night but we were also provided new earplugs. Frogs and roosters weren't bad but some vehicles would drive by with big loud speakers on their roof! However, the king bed was comfy and we slept good! Miguel (across the street) greeted us and gave us the walk-through as well as the keys. He made himself accessible anytime you needed anything. We had a great time relaxing at Dos Palmas on the front porch or back patio. We didn't even rent a vehicle because we could walk to the local market (around the corner) and to shops, restaurants on the Malecon and beaches! We walked the Esperanza beach which joined Sun Bay beach every day. Public transportation is always available on the island.
Our stay was initially scheduled the winter of the hurricane and we were given the option of cancelling or rescheduling our stay. Chip & Angie were very good at keeping us informed of the conditions on the island, as well as helping us with information & recommendations on getting to and around the island. We would stay at Dos Palmas again!

Great Apartment, Great Location, Great Island
The property is exactly as advertised - clean, safe, spacious, well appointed and the location is even more convenient than it may appear. A small, but well stocked grocery store is a hundred yards away and a walk to the closest restaurant and the Malecon took me three minutes with a handful of restaurants another two minutes down Calle Flamboyan.
Angie is a wonderful host and a wealth of information about the island. All the beach gear you could need is available for borrowing. Get out and explore!

Great place in a fabulous destination
Our stay in Dos Palmas Casita was part of a long-awaited Caribbean trip we had originally planned for last fall. We had to postpone the trip because of the hurricanes and we were a little apprehensive to go this soon, but we’re so glad we did. While there is definitely still evidence of storm damage and recovery the limitations didn’t reduce our enjoyment at all. We had more than enough to do and Vieques was the highlight of our trip.
The Bio Bay was a “5” the night we went (with Fun Brothers) and it was still amazing. Really an adventure not to be missed.
Chip and Angie are great hosts and their place is super clean and comfortable. We had zero bugs, which is really remarkable in these tropical climates. The location is very convenient - easy walking distance to the Malecon and a nice market. The neighborhood is very clean and the neighbors are friendly.
We’ll definitely come back to Vieques again and we’d book Dos Palmas again.

Great place!
We really enjoyed Vieques. Our stay at Chip and Angie's vacation rental was great. Everything you could need was there. We meet Miguel at the house and he gave us the run down and tour of the property, he was great. The house had all of the essentials plus some. The outdoor area for grilling was nice, as well as the outdoor shower. Having beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels was really awesome, made packing easier. Location was really good, close to restraunts and grocery. Interior very tastefully decorated. I would recommend this property and definitely would stay there again.

Amazing month!
Yes, we stayed a month in paradise! The home was everything we needed to relax and enjoy the island, well maintained and exceptionally clean and the bed so comfy. We loved all the beaches but Blue Beach was by far the most beautiful with the best snorkeling, go way to the end, road 18, and swim out to the rocky point and you will enjoy sea fans, coral and some beautiful fish. Walk to the bakery and enjoy fresh bread in the morning and the pizza is awesome too! The location is perfect and easy walk to the Malecon. We did rent a Jeep two different times but just to go exploring. Yes, there are chickens and horses and they do get a little loud sometimes but that is part of the charm! Stay in this home, enjoy the island and get away from your normal routine...that is what vacations are for! We would definitely stay here again!

Quiet, clean and convenient!
I enjoyed my stay. The apartment had everything I needed. The kitchen had all the cooking implements. The outdoor shower was lovely. The bed was large and comfortable. I have no idea why they provide earplugs as I didn't hear anything but the coquis, the chickens, the occasional dog, the clopping of random horse hooves... and that's about it. I had a wonderful time on Vieques and I found this apartment near enough to the "action", but still on a quiet street. Highly recommended for those who like to get out there and do, but want a cozy home base!

Perfect location, Great Property!
Their were two of us and the property was great. We loved being able to walk to town, the bakery around the corner was great and being able to pick up a few essentials at the small food store was nice. Miguel met us as we step out of the taxi and was great about showing us around and asking if we needed anything whenever we ran across him during our 3 day stay.
The condo had everything we needed; beach towels, chairs, cooler, snorkel gear and such.
Some reviews had mentioned the noise from the local dogs and chickens and, yes, their is some for sure but, with a little fore warning it wasn't that big of a deal.
We rented scooters for our stay and it was very nice to have a secure location to store them at night.
If we make it back to Esperanza (and I hope we do), we will certainly book with Angie and Chip again. They provided all the information we needed and made our stay in Vieques stress free.

As advertised, very convenient to everything Esperanza has to offer.
Clean and comfortable, if you are only in Vieques for a short visit and don't feel the need to explore the whole island you could get away with staying here without a vehicle. Plenty of good places to eat, 2 stores, and a bakery, and beaches all within walking distance.

Quality place, excellent location close to beach, restaurants... Clean, secure, everything you need
