Great location, amenities, beautiful views, spacious house. Easy check-in, responsive host, well-equipped kitchen, entertainment options for all ages. Perfect for family gatherings.

Beautiful lake house. We had 5 adults and 2 small children in our party. Everyone had a wonderful time, so many amenities to choose from. Close to shopping and historic Seneca.
3.0 / 5.0
The outside areas were wonderful - deck, dock, kayaks, lilypad, and swimming area. Everyone enjoyed them. The inside had a lot of deferred maintenance - towel racks missing or hanging loose, duct tape in many areas holding things together. Things that are usually present in a nice VRBO were missing such as towels in each bathroom, organized kitchen, etc. We had a great time, but the owner should look at his house with a more critical eye to these areas.
4.0 / 5.0
The lake location and variety of paddle boards and kayaks thoroughly entertained our group all week including, grandparents, parents, teens and a 5 year old. The house accommodated us all but needs maintenance and improvements to match the level of other rentals we’ve had in the area with similar rates.
5.0 / 5.0
Great location with lakefront property and dock.
I know some previous reviews mentioned cleanliness but in our experience everything was completely clean. A few parts of the house are still older and unremodeled and might not give a crisp appearance, such as a bathroom sink that needs to be replaced and one room with carpeting that is very worn, but as far as I could tell it was clean.
For convenience, there is a Dollar General and a liquor store just a mile down the road. The nearest town is about 15 minutes drive.

My family of 5 and my sisters family of 6 all stayed at this house and had a great time. We were comfortable and enjoyed the easy access to the lake from the house. Everyone enjoyed the water, the jump off from the top of the boat house, and the paddle board/kayakes.
4.0 / 5.0
The house was very clean and located in a great little neighborhood. The outdoor spaces were also great and the views of the lake and sunrise were amazing. The inside of the house could use some TLC, but it looked to me like there were some repairs/renovations in progress. If you are looking for the modern version of a lake house, this isn't it, but if you are looking for the more traditional version of the lake retreat, then this house fits the bill. Our family had a great time and I would recommend this house and would stay here again.

The location and amenities were great! We would stay here again.

I have never left a negative review on any rental. Had nice features: location on lake, not much boat traffic, the view, "beach" area, kayaks & paddle boards available.
Unfortunately the cons outweighed the pros. Pictures are not updated.
At check-in we were told the garage was not usable. House was unlocked & dirty upon arrival. The house needed to be swept, mopped & dusted. Garage was full of personal items & only had room for a couple of coolers. This prevented us from having enough room to park vehicles/boat trailers as we had planned. Oven smokes significantly, very dirty. Microwave handle held on with duct tape. Glass top stove is cracked, unusable. Dryer full of lint, takes 2-3 cycles to dry a small load of clothing. Resulted to hang drying most of our clothing for worry of fire. Owners personal affects filled closets that took up space that could be used by renters. Side yard had the owners boats parked there, further limiting the space we had planned for. Poorly done renovations: unfinished paint jobs, duct tape holding screen on screen door, exposed nails in deck. Boat in lift & lift unusable. Jet skis blocking boat parking. No jaccuzi, pool table or fitness equipment as listed. Threatened by owners & neighbors. Owners harassed us during & after stay regarding "broken rules" not listed on rental agreement. Requests for additional charges & withholding damage deposit for having "too many vehicles/boats & dogs on property". Scam to get more $$$. STAY AWAY!

This place needs a lot of TLC and cleaning. I have messaged the owner with specifics and things that we addressed and fixed while there. I would not go back to this property. Overall a disappointment but the owner was very attentive and responsive.

Our group of teenagers and adults enjoyed a wonderful long Thanksgiving weekend here. Our host George was extremely easy to get in touch with, and was so accommodating when we decided to add an extra night to our stay.
The home is a charming place on beautiful Lake Keowee and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The pictures do not do it justice - it is a very roomy home! You can tell it has been well-loved by the family for many years. We especially enjoyed the framed children’s artwork throughout! The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you’d need to cook. The deck also has a nice grill and seating area that I wish we would have had time to enjoy!
The basement provides lots of entertainment for all ages with the TV, foosball and ping pong table. You can walk right out to the fire pit area, private beach and dock from both the upstairs den area and basement. We loved sitting on the deck watching both the sunrise and the sunset!
The home is very close to downtown Seneca (which is a must-visit!) and to Clemson University. Perfect location! We appreciate the Moore Family sharing their home & look forward to staying again in the future!

The view and location of the house were great. However, the pictures are not accurate of current state of the house. Items we did not expect were - Thermostat (Nest) was disconnected from network upstairs so we could only control lower level. Likely original external slide doors that needed wood pieces to block sliding. Dining room was an addition that had ceiling/roof leak near chimney. Icemaker did not work. Complete lower floor has a drop ceiling to hide wires and cables so the ceiling height is not standard. Bedroom 2 had animal urine smell we had to spray Lysol to overcome. The trundle bedroom had pet hair on every mattress and sheets. We were short complete linens in this room. We had a problem with hot water lasting beyond a single shower. Smoke detectors were removed from original locations. The dock had a handful of boards with blue tape to show they were rotting. Our guess overall was It appeared to be a weekend renovation home that is being rented in parallel. ie Master room and bath are original brown frame and trim with some baseboard trying to be painted white until it reached furniture and the painting stopped.

Wonderful family vacation on the water. Children loved being in and on the water everyday.

We were 2 families totaling 9 adults/teens + 2 dogs and the house/property fit the bill. The location on the lake is great-- not a lot of boat traffic so the kids could paddle and the adults could float around. It's clear the owners have been investing in some updates to the house--the common rooms are cute. While the kitchen and bathrooms (and mattresses) would benefit from some updates, it's fine and we weren't there for the house per se anyway. The owner was fantastic and gave us great ideas of things to do on the lake. i.e. we rented a boat and tube for 2 days and docked it at his place--he gave directions to the jumping falls, climbing falls, restaurants on the lake (Tiki Hut --hushpuppies were great and the burgers were decent and the kids tried karaoke--no need to dress up) and where to get the cheapest gas). His suggestion of heading into Seneca on Thurs. was spot-on: several food trucks (taco truck has great burritos and margaritas, Black's savory sundae cup was delicious, and the pulled pork sandwich @ 313 was delicious but too spicy for my daughter), live music (not jazz like advertised but the kids didn't care), taprooms, shops. The city shuts down @ 9 so get there early to shop around and find a place to sit. BTW: we parked in the grass by the RR tracks and walked a block. So cute that the girls went back the next day for lunch (Bonaterra--mmmmmmm avocado fries) and shopping. The owner is just great to work with...it wasn't like a typical rental (TP, coffee filters, dish soap etc. supplied, lots of spices and condiments to use, beach towels available).

Great Stay
We had such a great time at our stay here! The amenities, water views, dock, firepit area and yard were amazing! The house itself was very spacious, but could definitely use some TLC. Appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, but the cleanliness was lacking. We took matters into our own hands to ensure everything was cleaned to our standard upon arrival throughout the house, and that allowed us to enjoy our stay with peace of mind.

Overall fairly nice experience
The house is as described. Use of the kayaks and paddle boards was great to enhance our time on the lake. They only issue was with bugs in the kitchen. There were many dishes with dead bugs in them, so you had to wash just about every dish before using it to feel clean. At night when you turned on the kitchen light, you would see bugs scatter off the kitchen counter.

Gorgeous view and great amenities!
We had the best time staying at this house! The view of the open water is absolutely gorgeous. We got great use out of the kayaks, paddle boards, and ping pong table. Perhaps our favorite feature of this house was being able to kayak over to a little private island and play in the shallow waters with sandy bottom. The neighborhood is fantastic as well!

Picture Perfect Weekend
We had the most wonderful time in this beautiful lake home. We absolutely loved it. I took a sunrise picture every morning. The lake, the view, the amenities, the location, the weather were all absolutely perfect. We could not have asked for a better weekend celebrating my son and his graduation. I thank you so much. My father in law said it best “If he wrote a script for how he would have wanted the weekend to go, he couldn’t have written it better”. It was just perfect!!!
We are hoping to come back in the fall for a Clemson football game :)

New Year's Family Time
Met friends from Florida here for reunion and enjoyed such a beautiful view. Great waterfall hikes close by. Kayaking was great & we enjoyed the firepit and outdoor space when the weather was good. Would love to come back in summer to really enjoy the lake.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely home over Thanksgiving. The home was more spacious than we expected. The lake views from virtually every room are the obvious highlight, but the home was very comfortable and made great use of the layout. In general I would say the pictures online don't give full justice to the comfort and space that this home offers. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. Having a built-in ice machine was a nice touch. The owners have obviously made an effort to provide the small touches around the home to make your stay more enjoyable. Despite being late November, we were still able to swim in the lake and enjoyed jumping off of the dock. We rented a boat from Lake Keowee Boat Rentals and would strongly recommend them if you are considering adding boating to your vacation. As some of the reviews mention, there is only one TV in the home. However, it is a large screen TV with ample seating for the whole family to enjoy watching. Plus, the wifi is excellent and with the streaming services we all have on our devices, the fact there was only one TV was a positive for our family. Personally, I enjoyed watching the Clemson football game on my laptop sitting at the fire pit looking out over the lake! The only minor drawback I would mention is the fact there is no trash pickup. Prior reviews mention that the cleaners will haul the trash away, but that option was not available for us (likely due to the fact we were staying in off-season). Anyway, it was only a minor inconvenience as we planned ahead and brought large contractor bags with us and carted our trash away in bulk before leaving. The owner provided some great recommendations that made our stay more enjoyable including getting takeout from Black's Smokehouse (a must!) and key spots to visit on the boat. Overall, we felt our stay at this Lake Keowee vacation home was a great value and would love to come back again to enjoy a stay during the summer.

Fantastic stay on Lake Keowee
We were here for a weekend for our son's birthday - he's a Senior at Clemson. The property was great, especially the outdoor facilities - the location and views of the water were superb, and the deck (with seating area, grill and dining area) were perfect. We used the kayaks and rented a boat from the marina which we tied up on the dock, so we took full advantage of the lake facilities. The house had lots of other toys and games for inside and out, which were fun but we couldn't get to all of them! The host was great and helped us through some logistical hurdles along the way. The inside facilities were good also - we both worked one day from the house before the weekend kicked in and found the furniture and wi-fi were great for working remotely. All in all the strengths of the house are all about the lake and the outdoor facilities and activities, but the interior was very clean and comfortable as well. We would absolutely rent again!

Perfect relaxing lake vacation
The home was perfect for our stay. The lake was clear and we floated, fished, kayaked and swam all day. The ping pong room had a great table and was set up for extreme play. The kitchen was organized and well stocked. You could tell the owners enjoyed their home too. There were plenty of beach towels, linens, outdoor chairs and life jackets. You just needed to bring your family ready to have a perfect lake vacation. We could have floated all week and would certainly want to stay in this home again if we visit Lake Keowee.

Great Place. Great owner
Really liked it here overall. Nothing bad to say. Pros...big rooms, lots of space for guests...great views..great deck with good grill and seating. .One small thing kitchen could use an update eventually. That is being picky though. But everything worked great and 5 star place for sure. I would try to stay here every time I come to Lake K.

Perfect Get Away
Recently spent a week at this property, and had an absolutely amazing time. The house was perfectly located between the mountains for hiking, Clemson for Football and of course being on Lake Keowee. Would highly recommend for a week or a weekend get away.

Great location, Great House for Lake Fun!
I really loved this house on many levels. The ease of putting our boat in, the 2 levels of the house, kids downstairs, adults upstairs! The kids jumped off the roof of the dock, played Ping Pong, had a great time. There is no trash pick up. You are expected to take all your trash with you, about 6 miles away to nearest dump. With 2 families, that was really inconvenient. The kitchen is a little bit tough, but doable. I would definitely rent again if the trash was picked up from the house.

Lake house review.
Overall we had a great week. Some issues with the home did concern us. Some of the electrical outlet didn’t work properly. Basement had a musty smell as though water problems were an issue. Only one TV in the entire house. Strong septic system smell from back yard. Hot water during showers seem to come and go. Pathway leading to dock is a bit dangerous. My mother took a nasty fall going down the second day we were there. Home could use considerable updates but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent lakefront location.
Wonderful, open lakefront location with adjacent quiet cove. Easy walk down to dock & water. Lakefront firepit & added-in sand and chair area. Home & outdoors can handle larger groups. Older but clean home with many owner belongings. Efficient but dated kitchen & bathrooms with everything working. Master bedroom lake views. Oddly configured but workable lower level. Nice decking but nothing screened in, including lakeview slider door screens. Well equipped for lake activities. We unfortunately had lots of rain so the interior issues were more obvious for us. Given the higher end homes of the neighborhood, proximity to town, and its outdoor lakefront opportunities you will appreciate this home's rental value.

Wonderful Graduation Weekend
We spent three great days at this very cozy home on the lake with exceptional views. The owner was very responsive to all questions and accommodating to requests. The views from multiple rooms are unbelievable. The home is well stocked and the furniture comfortable for relaxing. The grill allowed for great gatherings while cooking. Ping Pong and Foosball tables provided great fun for all and the Kayaks were an absolute blast.

Beautiful view!
Our whole family (6 adults and 3 children) enjoyed a long weekend at Lake Keowee. The gardens and the lake are the best! Enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. We rented a pontoon boat from Keowee Marina. What a beautiful lake! The house had plenty of room but could really use some updating.

Wonderful home and location!
The home was clean and well stocked. We loved the kayaks and paddle boards, which were used daily. We also loved the fire pit and beautiful landscaping. The ping-pong table was a huge hit! We had 5 teens between 15-18 and no one was ever bored. Such a beautiful place to get away, unplug and enjoy each other.
