The Gowdy Manor is located in the Historic district of Lake City Co. A spacious 6 bedroom 4 bath home with a large kitchen and a lobby room full of entertainment. Located downtown on the corner of Gunnison Ave and 5th St provides ample OHV parking and is located 2 blocks from center of town, restaurants,pubs, shopping and entertainment.

The Manor now has high speed internet through Star link.

Need more room? Inquire about the Gowdy Studio or The Gowdy Apartment. Both are located on the same property The studio sleeps 4 and Apartment sleeps 6. We also offer The Bonnie Rose which is located 1 block over on the corner of Silver and 6th street it is a 5 bedroom 2 bath home which sleeps 12

Great location and perfect access to Alpine Loop. Held our large family well. Kitchen well-stocked. Bed was comfy. Most importantly, lots of parking!

Absolutely loved the owners! Jim and Dana were some of the nicest people in the State. They let us tour the place a couple months before our scheduled stay. Boy, do they keep it stocked! You got everything you need here. Plenty of towels and toilet paper were the biggest things for me. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're a big group in Lake City.

The owner of the property, Jim was so great! Very helpful and attentive. We had trailers and Jim was great at getting us all settled and showing us where to park, showed us around the property, etc. House was VERY clean and had everything that we needed. There is two bedrooms upstairs where you do have to walk through another bedroom to access the bathroom. It worked out fine for us but could be a little a awkward if you are not family or close friends. Our favorite amenity was the amazing water pressure and the updated shower heads in the bathrooms! The house is very close to town as well which was great as we walked into town several times. Best communication/customer service we have had with a VRBO owner!

Jim was great at communicating with us. He met us at the house when we arrived and made sure we didn’t need anything. He gave recommendations for restaurants and trails to ride. He was very responsive to my texts with questions. The house was clean and well stocked. Nice backyard with seating area around fire pit that we enjoyed each evening.

What a beautiful house and an excellent vacation! Jim is amazing, responding immediately to any questions, ensuring everything that was needed was provided. I loved the house, being a history teacher. Apparently summer is the better time to be in Lake City, but I certainly enjoyed it during winter and would 1000% stay with Jim and Dana again!

The owners responded very quickly to any questions that we had. On the day we arrived, they even stopped by to quickly check that everything was as expected. The house is located close enough to the center of town that we took the short walk to dinner or to shops nearly every day. There was plenty of space for our group of 7 adults and 2 dogs. It was also nice to have some private outdoor space. We ate lunch in the back yard one day and spent a couple of evenings watching the rain come down while sitting on the covered porch.

We haul our ATV’s and 4-wheelers to Colorado every year in 2 cargo trailers and it’s hard to find a place to park, unload, and store all of our stuff. The corner lot (on the side) was perfect for all our machines. We were able to park all 4 of our vehicles in the front drive. Jim was super helpful and contacted me several days before we arrived to make sure I had all the information I needed.

The house was just perfect for 14 of us! Very clean. Back porch/yard was very nice. Comfy beds. Stairs are a little narrow and steep so be careful! Overall we loved everything about the home and will be staying there again!

We moved my son to Lake City as he just bought The American Elk…. 10 of us stayed at the manor after the move. The place was so beautiful and comfortable and Jim took good care of us. I would rent one of his properties again!

This house had everything we needed for our family of 6 adults and 5 children under the age of 6 and a small dog. The Gowdys always responded promptly to our many questions. They even had a high chair, pack-n-play, and sleds for the kids. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place for a Lake City stay

Comfortable, spacious and well maintained property Conveniently located in central Lake City. Super quiet, plenty of space, kitchen has all you need. Everything was in top working order. Our host Jim was attentive and communicated all the logistics perfectly. He made us feel at home. We much appreciated being able to enjoy this house as a launching pad for a Handies Peak hike. We hope to come back again soon.

Jim was great! Easy to communicate with via text and phone calls. Lake City is a great location to launch off for Lake San Cristabol and multiple 14ers in the San Juans. Nothing feels better than soaking in the luxurious bath tub after a long day playing outside. Thanks again!

We loved this house. Great kitchen, comfortable beds, 4 baths, fenced in yard for our 2 dogs. We cooked every night. The local country store was good for our groceries!

This place was just as depicted! Not far from the main stores in town and big enough for 3 families (7 adults, 5 kids and 1 infant) to have their own spaces. The kids and 1 couple had their own beds/rooms/bathrooms upstairs while 2 couples enjoyed their own downstairs. The backyard was big enough for the kids to run around and even throw a frisbee. The owner was nice and very easy to get ahold of. He was accommodating even when some of our plans changed. We will be staying at one of his properties when we come back to Lake City!

The property is amazing! The house is big , clean, organized. Very well prepared for a big gathering. There was room for everybody and we never felt crowded nor uncomfortable. Property owners, Gowdy's provided us with all the necessary details in order for us to arrive and enter the home. They were also very responsive when we had questions. They did not have to respond to my text messages. My family really enjoyed their stay and we are now planning on another date to go back. Thank you Mr. And Mrs. Gowdy

The Manor is a huge old house that has been beautifully redone. It easily accommodated our family of 5 and could hold many more very comfortably. Jim was awesome to work with and super helpful. The house was very clean on check-in, which we really appreciated, especially during these crazy Covid-19 times! We definitely hope to visit Lake City again, and would absolutely stay at the Manor again!
