The house was wonderful for our stay, each couple/family had plenty of room separately and together. The location was great, very close to downtown Makawao which had good shopping and restaurants. The photos/description online was a little different for the downstairs, the living room space was better than the photos, and the kichen area had been turned into a sleep space, but everything else seemed to match well or be better than expected. Check in/out was very easy. Ammenities were great. There are goats and other animals on the neighboring properly that were fun to watch, the roosters crowing in the morning were a little loud for some of our group, but didn’t bother everyone. Overall, we would definitely consider staying here again.

My family had a great stay at this property. Everything was as described and owner was super responsive to questions. Our stay was relaxing as this property is really quiet. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a countryside getaway with short drives to Maui’s beautiful beaches and trails.

House has a great layout. Plenty of amenities. Three pairs of washers and dryers is a huge bonus!

Clean, easy to access, well stocked house in upcountry. Was perfect for home base for adventures on the whole island.

We really enjoyed our time here. Everything was clean and well supplied. The host was very quick to respond to an issue and fixed it quickly. She was very nice and even gave us some activity suggestions. We stayed here with our family of 5 plus my mother and everyone had their own spacious and comfortable room to sleep in. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was really a 5/5 star review, but I marked listing accuracy a 4/5 because it listed the first floor as having a kitchen and the pictures showed an old tv, but they improved it by replacing with nice new tvs and converted the kitchen into more of a bedroom. There was still a fridge and coffee maker down there though I think. We had the kids stay downstairs and they loved having their own space and bedrooms. We enjoyed the view off the lanai and watching the goats and cows. I would definitely stay here again if we ever come back and I would highly recommend this place. It was also a nice location in the mountains where you’re closer to the road to Hana, Haleakalā, the airport, and Costco among other things. Thank you for providing such a nice place for us to stay!

We were a large family but there was plenty of room for us all (10 and babies). The location was perfect for anywhere you wanted to go on the island and the house met the highest standards. We had everything we needed for cooking, for washing and for the beach. One hiccup was we lost air condenser the first day but the owner resolved it right away. Not a problem most would ever encounter. Oh, and we laughed at the goats, cows, and birds interacting next door. A calf was born the first day. And we could even see the ocean from a distance! Mahalo!

We all (8 of us) liked the property. It had everything you need for cooking etc. Very nice appointments. We all enjoyed our stay there.

This is our second time staying at this property and we love it so much. There have been some updates since our last visit and we love it even more now. It's the perfect space for our large family, with plenty of room for the kids to run and explore. They loved seeing geckos every day, listening to the birdsong and crowing of the roosters, and saying hello to the goats next door.
The complaints we have are fairly minor: We couldn't find the beach towels. There weren't enough bath towels for all of us. The WiFi didn't work for over a day (and with cell service being pretty shotty, it made it difficult to research and make plans for the next day). And for a vacation home, there definitely should not be any "not microwave safe" plates and bowls. Even though they were pretty!
Our biggest complaint was the cleaning crew arrived early and, though checkout wasn't until 11am, they came up the driveway at 10:45 and hovered around until we left. This seemed rude and unprofessional to us. Getting six kids (and even more suitcases) loaded into the car is enough as it is without feeling "watched" and pressured to hurry. I know it's a LOT of work to clean and prepare a rental house, but it's my feeling that there should be at least a 15-minute buffer to allow guests to fully exit the property before the cleaners come in to do their job. We have stayed at many, many VRBOs and this is the first time we've ever ran into this issue.
Overall, a most wonderful place to stay, though!

We had such a great time at Tasey's place. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tasey responds quickly and we couldnt ask for a better host. The house is equipped with everything we needed and we loved the lanai. It really felt like it was our home for the few days we were there. This was a perfect stay and we would definitely stay again. The one thing that was different is now there is an extra bed, which was perfect! 100% recommend!

All of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s in a quiet residential area with fruit trees on the property and neighboring goats. The home was spacious, well stocked and very clean. We had everything we needed at our disposal and more. The owner was extremely responsive to any of our requests, both pre-trip and during our stay. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Maui, that makes you feel right at home, this is it. Highly recommended! As a sidenote, garbage pick up occurs twice a week, but not recycling. We saved our items and took them to the redemption center, which is just three blocks away.

Chose location because of friends living nearby but found that the location, even though not in a major city, was central to all the things we wanted to do. Was quiet and peaceful yet close to good food and activities. The house was beautiful and everything was first rate from kitchen appliances and tableware, to large screen TV. Everything that we needed was there. We were unable to use the jacuzzi bathtub because we felt guilty because of the water shortage. Not having inside access to the downstairs was a little inconvenient but not a major problem. Being a short-legged oriental, it was not easy for me to get on the bed in the master bedroom (had this problem in other rentals); the kitchen stool was a little too high to use to get on the bed. No clothes closet in the master bedroom could be a problem for people with clothes that wrinkle requiring pressing while on vacation. I have mostly wrinkle-free clothes, so it did not really affect me, the hooks and suitcase racks were sufficient for me. The 3 washers and dryers make doing laundry a breeze in spite of having to go outside to get to the garage.
Our whole group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The views of the sunset from the patio were picture-perfect. The fruit trees in the yard provided some fruits even though some were not in season. I wish the breadfruits were ready because I would have loved to bake it.

Beings all of us are from the farm & we all like cooler weather, this place was ideal for us. We loved the spaciousness of the house & the two acres. We loved watching the goats & hearing the roosters. There were 7 in our party. I highly recommend this place.

To celebrate a milestone birthday we gathered with family and friends at this wonderful home in Makawao. What a great choice we made! The home was comfortable, clean and well furnished with kitchen essentials including a wide assortment of spices and every utensil and dish that anyone could need! It was great to have friends stay downstairs instead of at another location but we had our own living space too. We loved hanging out on the lanai (but it could have used a couple of extra chairs! LOL) and watching the neighbors goats, chickens and cows as well as the beautiful Hawaiian sky. It was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle, yet a short drive to town.
The laundry facilities were fantastic with 3 sets of washers and dryers. We brought our own laundry soap but there was plenty to use there so we left ours there for the next guests.
The extra fridge downstairs, the beach chairs and equipment were an added bonus, it was nice to have an outside shower to rinse off sand from the beach.
Overall, it was a really great experience and we would stay there again as we truly felt at home.
The ONLY drawback were the bathroom towels as we could have used extra wash cloths, hand towels, etc as we only had one per person for our entire stay. Other than that, no complaints!

LOVED our stay! Would definitely come back! We’re family of 8, with 6 adults and 2 kids (12 & 14). Kitchen was perfect, every spice, cooking utensil and pot/pan you could need! Wonderful dinning table that seats 8 comfortably for meals and games. Comfy living room furniture and huge TV. Great views from every window. Especially loved the covered deck, peaceful to relax and read a book or have morning coffee. As well as the garage, nice to have a wind block and the two picnic tables provided more than enough space for fun outside meals and games. And 3 sets of washers/dryers – amazing!! Appreciated the nice touch of shampoo, conditioner and bodywash in all the bathrooms. As others have mentioned, numerous beach necessities: umbrellas, chairs, towels, etc. Tasey was incredibly responsive and wonderful to work with!!! Great location for Road to Hana, Haleakala and all Northshore activities. Makawao is an adorable town with fun shops and restaurants. And only 15 minutes to Paia. We even drove to Big Beach, south of Wailea, twice. All the conveniences you could dream of!!! Highly recommend!!! Mahalo Tasey for your kindness!

This was an amazing property. It has everything you need to stay to play in the water to play at the beach, beautiful location, easy commute to any part of the island.

The house was better in person. Everything was clean and entry was a breeze. Updated pictures are needed online. House is grey and all tvs are flat screens. Me and my Ohana had a great stay while we were in Maui to attend a graduation luau. The children loved the cows in the morning and bathing in the master bedroom tub at night. The kitchen was stocked with spices, oil, coffee and condiments. Our favorite place was the garage with the picnic tables, bbq, fridge and bathroom. The temperature was perfect in makawao and the house suited us all, while separating us when we wanted to rest. We took group pics in the yard to remember our stay. I hope to return soon. Will definitely return to Ocean vodka distillery in kula to enjoy the views, good drinks and ono food!

The property is in a beautiful and peaceful location. The home is very clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and with great amenities. It is well supplied in the kitchen and for dining. The bathrooms are top notch. It has two separate units under roof which allows for privacy with multiple families. It was a wonderful stay

Maui One is a gorgeous house that is stocked full of everything you could possibly need - from kitchen items (the usual stuff plus blenders, rice cooker, spices, all sorts of tableware) to beach supplies, coolers, new washing machines with all sorts of soaps. I can't think of one thing that we needed that wasn't at the house. It was extremely clean as well. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the sunset. Definitely recommend!

No need to repeat all the specific positives from the prior reviews -- to summarize the property is just outstanding in every way.
This will be our go-to rental for future trips to Maui.
A couple tips for those interested in hiking Maui:
1) If you plan to do the Pipiwai Trail, take the back road to Hana (not the road that starts in Paia.) This route is shorter and more scenic and not as relentless of a drive. Yes, there are warnings that you need a four wheel drive vehicle to traverse some rough spots. Not true - in our minivan we followed a Kia Soul and Mustang convertible across the roughest parts, no problem.
2) If you wake up early one morning and the West Maui Mountains are totally clear of clouds, head over there ASAP to enjoy the Waihee Ridge Trail - the clouds roll in steadily over the remainder of the day.
Enjoy

This was a perfect place for us to stay. It is upcountry which is much cooler than Kihei and Lahaina, for instance. It was nice to just relax and watch the neighbor's cows and goats. There is a nearby dog park and school neither of which disturb the quiet qnd peaceful nature of this property. Everything was as described and shown, and everything worked exactly as the owner said it should. There are nearby gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants as well. Thank you, Tasey, for a wonderful place to stay on our vacation

THE BEDS! We were SO happy with how comfortable the beds were! The photos don't do this place justice! Waking up to beautiful views, chickens, goats and cows (at the neighbors) was a treat. There was TONS of room and was very comfortable. Having a variety of spices for cooking at "home" was great! It was a convenient central location to stay if you are looking to travel the whole island. We were very happy with the time spent here!

Was the perfect setup for two families as the house provided some separation between each unit. Beautiful property, central location if you plan on traveling to all the areas of the island.
Communication was great and all the beach toys, snorkels, umbrellas and chairs was such an amazing addition. Thank you for the great stay.

Great house with plenty of room / space. We had 4 couples staying and there was plenty of room for all of us. The views were amazing. Several washing machines / dryers for large group. Plenty of condiments in the house so you don't have to buy extra. If you are looking for a place with ocean views or walkable to the beach, this is not the place, however its upcountry and very peaceful and beautiful. The communication with the owner was very easy and they were quick to respond with any questions. We very much enjoyed our stay here

We had a great time. The house is located in a perfect area. The house was perfect with the split level. No issues while we were here. Staff made sure that we were aware if there was an issue to notify them immediately. Everything is close by from the beach to great food and shopping. I definitely recommend staying here as we will be back.

Friends and Family from Canada and California joined us to celebrate a 10 year double lung transplant . We gathered at a friends house as well as the beach for luau and bbq. This was such a nice quiet place to come back to and wake up to the quiet of the country

We very much enjoyed this property. The perfect getaway in upcountry Maui. Plenty of room in this spacious home. We very much enjoyed the location, very close to Makawao, and easily a nice walk. We enjoyed being out of the tourist areas as we live in a tourist dominated town. The manager was very easy to communicate with, and the home had a gorgeous view!! Great starting point for various daily adventures! Very clean home, and Would love to stay here again.

We had a truly wonderful Hawaiian getaway in Makawao and felt so comfortable here during our three week stay. The central location was the perfect jumping point for adventures, and the quiet, spacious property served as a welcoming haven at the end of our busy days. There was no shortage of space for our family and friends, and the home was thoughtfully equipped with kids in mind. We especially appreciated the large kitchen, open living space for the kids to play, and all the beach gear. We loved star gazing at night from the private driveway - the kids had a blast finding fruit trees around the property and watching the goats play in the nearby farm. Would highly recommend this beautiful home for a family getaway and we would love to stay again.
