The house exceeded expectations from the pictures. We’re very familiar with Falmouth and this was our best rental to date. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen - comfortable/ firm beds. View and terrace 10/10

The whole process was simple and made even easier by our host/owner. The house and artistic decor is spectacular, and the view of the English Harbour even better. Lucy, our host is polite, never intrusive, but always willing to provide rceommendations and direction when asked. My 27 year old son, his lovely girlfriend and I all agreed that this has been our best vacation ever. Strongly recommend Soul Emmersions if you like scuba, favorite restaurant was a New Mexican place called Los Cabrones in Enflish Harbor. We loved out excursion to sting ray city/turtle island. We hope to return someday and would like to repeat at the fabulous Casa Luchia. Loved it!
Would advise consider bringing bug spray and take advantage of the mosquito netting supplies in the home.

Beautiful Retreat
We were looking for a quiet property with lovely views for 3 of us to lounge and relax and also use as a base to explore the wider area. We were not disappointed. Lucy was a friendly, welcoming host who was at the end of the phone any time we needed any information, yet she was also very respectful of our privacy.
We never tired of sitting on the verandah with a cool glass of wine looking out over Falmouth Harbour. Beautiful. The house is very open plan which is great for airflow in the warm evenings. The lack of complete privacy in the bedrooms may not suit some guests but we had no problems with this. There are two lovely dining areas - one out on the verandah (we used this all the time) and one indoors near the kitchen. The tropical garden view from the kitchen sink was a great way to start the day when making the morning tea. Lovely to have the odd visiting bird.
There are plenty of areas on the verandah to sit and relax including a hammock (which my husband seemed to comandeer) and a sun-lounger. One slight negative is that there are is no lounging area indoors. This would have been put to good use when the verandah got a little hot and we wanted to relax in a cool area with a book or a drink (or chat as a group). This, however, did not spoil our experience at all and we loved our 12 day stay at the house. We did hire a car during our stay but also walked into English Harbour on occasion - this took 35-40 minutes. There is a good little supermarket within walking distance of the house and also a couple of eateries nearby. What more do you need?

authentic island life
We loved the way the house was adapted to the climate and its location, the height ensures cooling breezes and minimal access to insects. Looking out over Falmouth harbour, every day provided views of new maritime visitors. The house is built of wood in classical proportions so all looks elegant and works beautifully, airy and light. This is matched by the contents, many seasoned books and comfortable fittings. The garden has many indigenous species, even orchids in their natural habitat - attached to trees. Its a joy to open the shutters in the morning and see the rich deep greens of the trees outside the kitchen window.
We travelled around the local area, and sailed in the harbour, around superyachts and converted lifeboats from the UK.
The beaches are excellent, Pidgeon point & Galleon the best locally, but some others around if more seclusion is desired, we even swum with turtles - where they were feeding on the seagrass. You always get more from a visit living locally than in a resort, and this one was fun!

Beautiful retreat
The pictures do not do justice to Lucy's house - the house is simply beautiful and well designed - no air conditioning required, as a gentle Caribbean breeze flows through the house, not to mention the odd bird visitor on the outer deck. The views are exceptional and the space incredibly relaxing. Lucy welcomed us and was charming and helpful. We will definitely try and stay again.

WE WANT TO LIVE IN THIS HOUSE!
Lucy's house is amazing! It is island style gorgeous, so well designed, with beautiful things both found and created. It is situated just high enough to have a lovely view of the harbor, both in the day, and in the night with the lights from the boats. The veranda is absolutely amazing to sit on and look at the gorgeous landscaping and listen to the birds. The front of the house is south facing, so you are all day bathed in the sunshine. There are no glass windows, just shutters to close if necessary, so you always have the soft trade winds keeping you just the right temperature. The fresh warm air was so healing. Even though there are gorgeous beaches just down the road, some days we had a hard time peeling ourselves away from the house!
The beds are very comfortable, and there are mosquito nets to keep the mozzies away. At night, we just set the alarm and left everything open. The bathroom is beautiful and refreshing, with a very nice rain shower. Since the house is very open, and the rooms are private but not entirely enclosed, it may be better suited for a family or friends traveling together than two couples. There is also a cute cottage on the property if you wanted to have a larger party.
Antigua is a beautiful island, full of warm and friendly people. After exploring most of the island, we were very happy to be staying in Falmouth, just up the road from English Harbor. This feels like the more "real" side of the island. We did go up and spend one day at Dickenson, but we prefer to be away from the big resorts. English Harbor has more quaint and lovely lodgings, a good little village (eat at Rum Baba, and Flatties Flame Grill), and Nelson's Dockyard which is a very historic area to walk around and explore. We spent most of our days at Pigeon Beach, or Galleon Bay beach, both just down the road from the house. Both have wonderful beach bar/cafes, Catherine's Plage at Pigeon, and The Cheeky Marlin at Galleon.
Our absolute favorite days were spent at Half Moon Bay beach. It is a stunning bay, and the north side is blocked from the winds so the water is clear and calm, wonderful for swimming and snorkeling. We didn't see as many fish here as at Galleon, but we did swim for a bit with a beautiful spotted ray. There is a beach bar/cafe there as well.
We have stayed in many vacation rentals, and we all agreed that Lucy's house was by far the most magical. We all said numerous times over the week, "We wish we lived in this house!"
