NEW FEATURE SINCE JAN 2022: Enjoy the benefits of the new SALT WATER POOL:
This saltwater pool is gentler on the eyes, hair and clothes. The salt-chlorinated pool water is silkier and leaves the skin feeling less dry than conventional chlorinated pool water. In addition, it does not smell of chlorine.
Situated in the hills above Playa Potrero, Costa Rica, in the Pacific Heights area, our villa is accessed via a gravel road, making an SUV with 4x4 recommended for transportation.
PLEASE TAKE IN MIND, THAT THE MAIN GUEST MUST BE 21 OR OLDER TO RENT OUR PROPERTY.

Uneven rating. Road rough but this is Costa Rica. Beautiful view, pool, caretakers very nice. Balcony superb for am coffee and evening drinks. AC worked well. Beds comfy. Pool and house kept clean. Washer and dryer worked well. Downside- place needs better maintenance. Pool chairs ripped and missing while being fixed, refrigerator leaked and took 2 visits to fix, shower in Master does not all work and what did was feeble. Security system-was told it did not work by walk through person but later found it did. NONE of the mini refigerators worked ! Upstairs 1/2 bath sink drain did not work. Handyman came pulled out drain and left tools on counter. Still there when we checked out ! Disappointing to have call several times for things that property manager should pay attention to and repair.

We loved this house in Costa Rica! Plenty of room for four couples. The drive up the road is bumpy but worth it. When you see the first sunset you will be smiling! We made great use of the pool for relaxing and floating. The swim up bar was a treat on Valentine’s Day when our spouses served us Pina Coladas. The kitchen and grill worked well for our appetizers and dinners in. Grocery stores are not far, though we planned our visits well to save trips. We saw so many birds, hiked on the near by trails, enjoyed the beaches. Our favorite dinner out was at Coco Loco. Best breakfast after ATVing was Patagonia Del Mar. Our favorite beaches were Danta for monkeys at 5:00 and sunset, Penca, and Conchal. Pura Vida!

Our family of 5 had the most wonderful time staying at Villa Oasis. The house is beautiful and the views of the ocean, mountains and sunsets are so much more than what photos can show. The proximity to restaurants, beaches and activities are only minutes away. The road to the house is very drivable, just bumpy and dusty in the dry season . The care taker, Christopher and his mom Maria keep the Villa so clean. We appreciated having beach chairs and an ice chest for beach outings. The salt water pool was perfect and so refreshing after a day in the sun.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for our week in Costa Rica. We will be back!

Our group of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house. We loved the warm classic decor and made full use of the gorgeous verandas to enjoy the view and watch the incredible sunsets every evening. It was very clean, and well stocked with dishes, coffee maker, barbecue, etc. There were lots of towels and bedding available. Our only issue was that there were building materials stored in closets and various spots around the house, presumably for an upcoming reno, but made space for our belongings a bit limited. Maria, the housekeeper came in a couple of times to clean. The pool was lovely, and kept in tip top shape by the caretaker Cristofer. He was super helpful, giving us advice on local must sees, helped us to arrange a fishing/snorkeling trip, and gave us daily Spanish lessons as well! We also enjoyed our resident iguanas (although there were a few other creepy crawlies we could have done without!) Our big disappointment was that we didn't see any monkeys, so we'll have to come back for that!

I stayed here with my husband and his family. There were 6 of us total. Our first impression of the property was that is was huge. There was a lot of space to spread out. The master bedroom is upstairs with a living space and the other 3 bedrooms are all on the main level with the dining and kitchen. The view is breathtaking, pictures just don't do it justice. CONS: The drive up to the property was VERY rugged. I don't know that we would have made it in a car versus an SUV as there are lots of rocks and ruts. The "hot tub" is not heated. Our host said there was no need for one, but when it cools down in the evenings and we all would have enjoyed that. Downstairs beds are hard. Lastly, nobody cleans the pool during your stay. We actually had to clean it ourselves because it was getting so dirty. I'm not sure why there is a caretaker onsite if they don't do pool maintenance at the very least. PROS: Value, the value was definitely there. Plenty of space to spread out. Safety, the entire property is gated. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Fully stocked kitchen, we had everything we needed. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and have no regrets about staying here, but I don't know that we would choose this property again as it was quite the drive up the mountain. I will say that the property management company was a pleasure to work with and I had no issues in the planning, checking in or checking out process.

Shout out to the on site caretaker of the property, Christopher. Fantastic guy, great resource for local information and made sure everything was running smooth in paradise. The house and pool were even better in person. Amazing views and comfortable accommodations. The road to the property can be a little rough but is definitely worth it. We were very happy to discover trailheads within 100 feet that we could use to hike down to the nearest beach. I’d recommend this place to everyone.

Gorgeous home overlooking Playa Potrero, we really enjoyed our stay. Check-in process was flawless, communication was great, and it was good value for the money. It only takes 7 mins to get uphill on unpaved road, 4x4 is not needed but SUV is recommended. The view from the house is unbelievable.
Make sure propane tank is provided at the beginning of the stay.

Amazing views, convenient location, easy check in and attentive management and staff. On-site staff was available to help but out of sight and respectful of privacy. As a real estate developer I would note the property was well built but due for some updates, however, it was priced right in the market snd we would rent this home again. A bit of construction traffic heading to sites above us were not constant but occasional and property would benefit with some screening. Work remoters….Wi-Fi and up/down speeds were adequate but less than we paid for to upgrade. In summary, great value, views, management and staff….enjoyed views of sunsets over the ocean, howler monkeys beneath us, birds and the general tranquility.

This home has one of the best views I've experienced. Nestled on top a hill, you'll see the most incredible sunsets every night. Potrero is a great city with lots of restaurant and cafe options nearby. The beaches near the house are also incredible. You can have fun in this home whether you want to hangout at the pool all day relaxing and looking at beautiful wildlife, or use it as a homebase for exploring Costa Rica. Our group consisted of 3 couples and everyone loved our experience. We gathered on the upper balcony every evening for drinks, snacks and to enjoy the views. The house could use a few updates, but overall we loved the property. Christopher and his family (caretakers of the property) were very friendly and helpful in helping us solve any issues that arose.

This house does not disappoint. Everyone we dealt with from the property management company to the caretaker were amazing. We loved the location and the house was fully stocked with everything you could need. I would definitely recommend and would stay again!!!

Beautiful home with many amenities including an infinity pool- we celebrated my hubbys 55th Birthday with 2 other couples… plenty of room for all of us….. it is a remote location; the road to the house is quite rough & bumpy…. Wish we could have been able to walk places or to the beach…. But we made our fun around the pool area. There is a caretaker that lives in the back yard, under the patio… he was very cordial & responsive to any needs. Overall we had a great time!

Cant get enough of the view!
The house is very comfortable. The price was great for the size. I had various guests in at different times and all were happy! The prop manager was talking with me everyday all the time. Very helpful. Ill stay again and have recommeded to friends!
Tiny tweaks could be done to make it a little more comfy but not even concerned with it to post here. Thank you to Chris and family who are there to take care of us. Massages on the balcony a must!

Our group of seven was so pleased with our house. Great interior spaces, balconies, and pool. Laundry and comfy beds. The maintenance staff was meticulous and accommodating.
An example of the service: We wanted a microwave and there wasn’t one. We made a call and it came the next day! Our friendly caretaker Christopher set it up for us.
The house is perfectly situated to enjoy the sunrise over the mountains in the morning and the sunset over the ocean in the evening...
We were not expecting to see much wildlife in this location, but WOW, the views – plus monkeys, er, frolicking in the trees, iguanas, and lots of parrots and other birds.
Bunches of inviting restaurants 15 minutes away and close to some great beaches.
Perfect spot - not in the middle of everything , but close enough to everything.
Definitely need a car - It’s just a dirt road that gets you here – and a tad bumpy – but absolutely no problem for driving (with or without a 4x4) Highest marks for this vacation residence!

The property was really wonderful and the surroundings couldn't have been more beautiful. Loved the location, and communication was super fast and easy. The important stuff was all really great. Some of the less important stuff could use some attention. The house was spacious, though a bit run down in some parts. The kitchen didn't have much in terms of cooking (Salt, pepper, oil) or supplies, which was a little bit of a surprise since houses I've rented before from VRBO would typically have some condiments, essentials, paper towels, detergents (even if just left over from previous guests) so it was a little annoying to have to buy all of that.

This place is AMAZING!
We absolutely enjoyed our time in this place.
The staff was very prompt to answer questions and extremely helpful.
The house was absolutely spotless when we got there and everytime it was clean.
The view of the house was incredible and the pool is very great.
Absolutely recommend this place for vacation time.
Everything is AMAZING.

3 couples( 6 adults) came to this Villa April I5 for a week. This place was absolutely everything like mentioned. Very private, up a mountain. Breathtaking views. The first day, we decided to cancel our rental car and used transfers. Maria at the concierge service was able to suggest transfer contacts. . Best decision. All of us had a stress free week. Miguel’s and Maria the caretakers of the house were all the time available when needed. Very nice people. House had everything we needed. We had rooms we never had the chance to use. Concierge organised custom excursions with a driver « Goose ». Excellent decision again. He made sure we did everything we wanted to see in Costa Rica.
We would recommend this Villa for a group of friends wanting to relax in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is one our favorite vacation locations. The house was just as it was listed. The grounds were kept neat, house was clean and the onsite house manager was very helpful. Our stay was in March, which happens to be the dry season in that region. That meant a very dry landscape and many area fires. I believe that lead to a few unwanted "scurrying guests" in our master-bedroom. It took the onsite house manager a couple of tries, but he managed to remove them. The property managers were very responsive to the issue. The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The pool was a very pleasurable amenity. The view from the house is beautiful and I'm sure during the non-dry season it is even more breathtaking, however that comes at a cost. The steep road to the property is not paved and extremely rocky. A 4-wheel drive vehicle would be necessary.

What a great place to stay! A beautiful home with amazing views. We wanted to get away with the family for Spring Break and not go to a large hotel and share a pool during the pandemic. This was the perfect place for us. Here is a quick list of what we liked and what we thought could use a little improvement:
Pros:
-Nice large home
-Amazing views
-Great pool
-Nice furnishings and amenities
-Comfy beds and blackout curtains in all rooms
-Close to town, beach, and activities
-Onsite caretaker was very kind a prompt.
-Gated and felt very secure
-Great TV room with Netflix access
Cons:
-Shower in master bath that was a bit leaky
-Hot tub heater not working
-It can get pretty windy up on the hill, so the pool was hard to keep clean
-Some of the outdoor furniture needed to be repaired.
- A few more pool toys and float would have been nice.
Overall a fantastic home that we highly recommend!

I traveled to Costa Rica with my mother, 6-year-old daughter and 3 close friends for my most recent birthday. This house is beautiful and the photos simply do not do it justice. The check-in process (with Cristina) was well-coordinated and the concierge service (Maria Chacon with Tropical Homes) was instrumental in ensuring we enjoyed our stay. Concierge can help you arrange transfers, excursions - we did a boat tour (Palo Verde) on one day and a combo zipline/jungle waterslide/mud bath/hot springs (Buena Vista Adventure) excursion on another day - and also assist with in-home chef services and Covid testing to return to the States. Our guide for both days of excursions was excellent. The groundskeepers at Villa Oasis, Jose and Maria, were always available to answer any questions we had and to make sure the house and pool were kept nice and clean throughout our stay. Jose also helped us get to the beach one day and Maria gives awesome massages so don’t pass up that opportunity! Yes, the road leading to the house is unpaved and getting to and from the house is an adventure in itself. Remember that you’re in Costa Rica so you may experience rolling power outages and the wildfires may bring more creatures to the house than you expect. We were surprised, but not alarmed (you’re in the jungle!), by a scorpion and mice that found their way into the house. There is nothing negative to be said about our stay but if we could change anything, we’d ask for the pool lights to stay on a bit later (they are on a timer) since we spent most of our time at the house in the water and for the jacuzzi to be heated which would be good for the evenings when the temperature dips a little. Overall, we had an amazing, relaxing time in this well-appointed house and would absolutely return again.

We stayed here for almost 3 weeks. After reading a few of the reviews I had some concerns. I was bringing a wide group of friends to the Villa and wanted them to have an exceptional experience. Long and short - we had an exceptional experience. The Villa owners must have done upgrades because everything that others mentioned was taken care of and updated. The place is in fantastic shape. The caretakers are great. They are there to help, but never in the way. They are responsive and easy to communicate with - even with my limited Spanish.
The pool is beautiful, clean, comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked. We have traveled to many VRBO types of facilities and this is probably the most well stocked kitchen I have ever seen for a rental. The property managers were responsive and friendly.
The road is a dirt road, it is uphill, it does have a few bumps, but nothing unmanageable. One of our friends rented a small car and they were able to traverse the road with no difficulty multiple times.
I highly recommend this Villa. We fell in love with the little town of Potrero, it's people and the community.
My criteria for a Villa include: Airconditioning, Internet (I do need to work when gone for a couple of months at a time), great showers, comfortable bed and laundry. All were excellent. Many other things are important, but to me those are critical.
I highly recommend the Villa and hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Staying at Villa Oasis seemed like the perfect choice. Being away from the busy life really felt good and relaxing. It was our first time to Costa Rica. Tropical Homes of Costa Rica agency was superb with communication and everyone was so nice and helpful! When we arrived, we met as planned and were escorted to the house up the hill. All questions answered by property manager and finally we were on vacation! The house is built and decorated in Spanish colonial style with 4 bedroom suites that provided us with privacy and comfort. It was just 4 of us – but the house can fit 8 people. The whole house was spotlessly clean and furnished with elegance I would say, has a taste, great decor and color accents throughout. I really appreciated the high quality sheets and towels in each suite, everything seemed to be very new. Each night we slept like babies and recharged and rejuvenated, waking up to singing parrots flying around the house! What a way to start a day! The pool is huge and as added bonus it has “saltwater system”, where the water has no conventional chlorine, but salt, we absolutely loved it, and our skin loved it too, the water was so refreshing. We found out that the pool conversion was just done in January 2022! Across the street from the house we had access to hiking trails - lovely time spent in nature- they lead down to the beach if you are a hiker. Britta and her staff are so helpful with for whatever is needed and with booking any activity desired. Caretakers of the house Maria and Miquel live on the property, but away from the house and you don’t really see them, they are very discrete. If we needed them they were there to help. Maria is also professional masseuse and does wonderful massage right in the house (!) or by the pool if you’d like - I strongly recommend an hour. I enjoyed my quiet reading on the balcony – where views are breathtaking, believe me - the pictures don’t show the real beauty. Almost every day we were watching sun rise and sunset from the veranda – sipping our favorite cocktail (Ha! in the evening, water in the morning). Kitchen is fully equipped - even has a salad spinner which takes water off - from your washed lettuce (!) – I’m sure still rare to find. We were not up for vacation cooking, but it was lovely to have breakfast or lunch overlooking ocean with no rush to go anywhere, it gave us extra feeling of peace. There are plenty of places around to eat – we especially loved the ceviche and grilled red snapp

Amazing view of sunsets and jungle. Enjoyed watching the howler monkeys in trees around the property. Miguel and Maria are wonderful and assisted us with whatever was needed!

Staff were so kind, responsive and overall helpful from first contact via VRBO to the check in and on site manager. The price of this home is cheap and you need only look at Google to see the other rentals in Pacific Heights and what they charge. Granted, it is not as modern as some and does have some deferred maintenance such as a hole in the 1/2 bath ceiling upstairs, some worn exterior wood, body sprayer in the master shower is inoperable, and their is some hard water build up on the stone counters, but if any of this effects you somehow, you should likely be staying at Playa Conchal anyway. One review in here noted that the home needed a deep clean however, they clearly didn't understand what they were looking at as the cleanliness of this home is immaculate. Miguel and his wife literally live underneath the pool deck in a little home and they take such good care of the property and it's guests. It is very clear they want nothing else than to make your stay very enjoyable. Please make sure and tip them big as they deserve it and COVID years have been very hard on all the locals (So really tip big everywhere). The pictures of the view don't do it justice, but they are older as the palm trees have grown a lot. Sadly they block about 50% or more the view which would be so epic without them, but they also add some nice ambience to the property and screen out the one neighbor home below. If I was to give one piece of feedback to the owner, it would be to git rid of some of the palms, but that would never keep me from staying here again as the view is still very very fantastic, especially if you have never been to this area before. I know this area very well and this is a top lot. The pool is shallow but fantastic, the deck and balcony are massive with tons of outdoor seating including a grill, and the home is set up so perfectly to allow privacy for all the bedrooms. It is very solid construction and the room below hears no noise when you walk in the master bedroom above. The kitchen is very spartan, think literally no extras for salt/pepper/coffee/condiments etc., but that is not a big deal as there are several local stores within 10-15 min that are fully stocked. We have stayed in this area a few times now and really enjoyed this home. The green parrots fly to the trees around you every night at sunset and they depart from there around sunrise. It is an amazing sight to see, and the sunsets form here are magical. Book it and enjoy!

The view the view the view breath taking!! Beautiful pool and hot tub. We enjoyed our stay. House had everything we needed. Maria was very Pleasant. I would definitely book again!!The rocky hill to house didn’t stop us from enjoying our stay!!

Great place to stay. Arturo was nice & met us when we couldn’t find it (at night). It’s best to drive there during daylight the first time. The road there is a little rough. The care taker & his wife are great. She does great massages. Overall the place was great. A few things like the mini fridge upstairs & one of the TVs didn’t work & they were waiting on parts but we didn’t need either. There is a fee for late check-in.

Beautiful location. Home is also beautiful but needs lots of work. You can tell it has not been kept up with. Needs lots of repair and a deep clean. Wish communication was better with the property manager. Didn’t receive welcome email until the day before our stay. The check in instructions were not clear at all compared to other homes we’ve stayed in. The grounds keepers were very nice but we only saw them a few times. The home was only cleaned 2 times and we stayed there 7 days which is no problem if we had better guides. We had no idea where to find anything such as trash bags or where to place trash. Pool was not working most of the time and was dirty most of the trip. Lots of creatures come into the home but that’s understandable because we were in the wilderness but I can see how that can be difficult for some. Home is off a dirt road as well which makes it difficult to reach the first time around but we got used to it after the first day. You will definitely need an off road vehicle. Like I said, it’s a beautiful home with lots of potential. It would be a much better experience if there were slight changes. FYI I suggest bringing your own towels. Hope this helps someone else looking to stay here.

The house is perfectly built for the beach. You can see the mountains, the beach and have a great time at the pool.
