Nestled in remote Western Kentucky, on the banks of Lake Barkley and across from Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, is a luxurious yet rustic lake home known as Sunrise Serenity.
This beautiful, light-filled lake house is amazingly decorated with top-of-the-line construction and high-end furnishings and appliances. It’s perfect for those with large families or those just wanting a little extra space, elegance, and comfort.
A level, concrete driveway, with ample storage for vehicles or a boat trailer, leads you to the main level, stone entry with a rustic, tongue-and-groove, spruce ceiling and wall of lake view windows.
A large, open living space, featuring a stone fireplace with 50' LED TV and BluRay, adjoins a fabulous kitchen with an 8-foot island and seating for five. The dining room is open to the lake views and comfortably seats six, while the breakfast area seats four and is perfect for your morning coffee. Deck access is provided in two areas of the great room by bi-fold sliding doors.
The large master bedroom on the main level features a wall of windows showcasing Lake Barkley. Top-of-the-line king mattresses, duvet bedding and a 40' LCD TV welcomes guests. The master bathroom includes a large soaker tub, separate shower, double vanity, walk-in closet, and deck access.
The two spacious second and third bedrooms on the main level have queen beds with duvets, 40' LCD TVs, and a shared full bathroom with two sinks. The hallway is closed from the main living area by hidden pocket doors for additional privacy. All main level bedrooms and the main living area have ceiling fans.
The deck on the main level provides abundant lake views and is wired for speakers. It includes lighting, an outdoor gas grill, and comfortable outdoor seating. The one-acre lot is landscaped with a gentle slope to the water and private dock. A concrete paved path leads you to the dock on a gentle slope accessible by all ages. An attached garage provides storage for your outdoor activity equipment.
The large, living space on the lower level, complete with a walkout wall of windows to the backyard, includes a 15-foot bar with refrigerator, pool table, card table, leather sectional, 55' LCD TV, and Xbox, providing a great place to hang out and relax.
The remaining three of six bedrooms is located on the lower level. The fourth bedroom with two full beds and the fifth bedroom with two full/twin bunk combos share a bath. Each bedroom has a 40' LCD TV. The sixth bedroom includes a queen bed with duvet, 40' LCD TV, and a private bathroom with a shower/tub combo.
The upper level also includes an HE washer and dryer for guest use.

Family vacation, 11 people, we used every room in the house! We played pool, cards, watched movies, boardgames, and swam off the dock when we weren't out on the boats. The kitchen literally has everything you need to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We only ate out for dinner once. The house is right in the water and it was beautiful and pretty for sunrise and sunset.
My only caution is to bring spider spray! The spiders are crazy and get into everything. Jeremy was super easy to communicate with and Jason quickly replaced the coffee pot that died. I would book this house again and we are actually talking about the next trip!

Very nice home, great view, awesome layout. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Plenty of dishes for a large gathering. We had 13 in our group coving 3 different generations, and the home served well. There seemed to be a lack of "comfortable" seating for a large group as the two couches sat up to 6 (the rest were on stools or chairs) There was a nice stereo with built-in speakers, but we couldn't figure out how to use it. The home is high on the hill, and the trek to the water is a good workout. We had two boats, and the dock was great. The lake is busy, so make sure to dock properly to prevent damage to your boat. It is a short boat ride to two different marinas. It is a bit of a trek to go to any store, so make sure you are intentional about what you bring. We found that paper towels, napkins, and toilet paper were not supplied. Make sure to bring bug spray for outdoor evening activities. We saw lots of deer right in the yard! And the raccoons were nightly visitors to the deck.

Our family has been coming to this area for several years and we have found our forever vacation rental. Sunrise Serenity is a wonderful house for our family of 14 ranging from 2 months to late 60’s. The house has plenty of room for everyone to enjoy either being together or spreading out.The kitchen is well stocked, great covered dock for the boat and a wonderful back deck that looks out into the water. Jeremy is super quick to respond and worked hard to solve our problem when we had issues with the . Beautiful inside and out: you won’t regret staying here!

We've stayed at a lot of properties on Lake Barkley over the past 25 years and this is the best place yet. The house has plenty of space and is up to date and well maintained. We will definitely rent this property again.

We liked everything about this vacation rental. It easily accommodated the 8 guys in the group. The combination of two living areas, two walkout decks, and pool table/ poker table meant we weren't pressed for space. Beds were comfortable. With the four spacious bathrooms, it made us realize we wouldn't ever go back to any accommodations with only two as in the past. The dual covered boat dock was nice. The kitchen/ island were functional. The extra refrigerator in the garage helped with our larger group. We didn't use them, but TV's in each room/ bedroom would probably benefit families on inclement weather days. The unanimous decision from our 8 guys, was that we would rent this home again. Also, the fishing was better here than Kentucky Lake.

The property was just as shown on the website. The property manager was great to work with. We had a small issue with malfunctioning smoke detector, and he was great in getting it resolved. The only negative would be that the ceiling fans and lights in the main level kitchen and living room were VERY dusty. If we decide to come back to the area, we would most definitely look into booking this property again.

We stayed in late March and were delighted with the view, the quiet, and the size and layout of the house. The sunrise is gorgeous, but the moon rise is even better! We had trouble with the wi-fi, but Jeremy did everything he could to have that fixed. We found nearly everything we needed in the kitchen, and the furnishings were quite comfy. We absolutely recommend the house and may even stay again ourselves.

The property is very beautiful and had everything that we needed for our stay. The lake was beautiful with the stunning backdrop of the trees in their full fall color. We enjoyed seeing many pelicans flying in formation back and forth across the lake. We would highly recommend and look forward to a return visit.

We are longtime high school friends who travel together yearly. We were looking for a vrbo in a quiet setting. Sunrise Serenity fit the bill. Lake Barkley was so pretty and we did see fantastic sunrises. We saw deer in the yard and so many birds that we don’t see in our home state. Spent most days on the large deck. The home was so nice. The kitchen was well stocked. We went to Cadiz for groceries and it’s a cute town. Thank you to our hosts for a great visit.

This is a great property that is just far enough out to feel “remote”, and yet close enough to Cadiz to make it an easy drive for dining, groceries, antiquing, etc. The mornings are beautiful, with the sun coming up over the lake, and the nights are amazing for stargazing. Wildlife abounds in the area with deer visiting morning and evening, as well as squirrels, raccoons, turkeys and a dizzying array of birds and waterfowl.
The home is large, bright and nicely appointed for a great stay should you find yourself indoors rather than outside on the deck, in the yard or out on the water. We took advantage of a little bit of everything. Owner was very responsive with the questions we had prior to arrival and the property manager, Jason was great and we enjoyed the opportunity of meeting him. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to others. We had a great time!

We loved the house! There was plenty of room for everyone and lots of fun things to do including games, pool table, the lake, the outdoor areas, and the many TVs. We rented a pontoon boat for a day and the dock made it easy to come and go from our house and back out on the lake.
Check in was confusing, as the door codes were not listed on the website (which is where I am used to looking for that information when we arrive). It was listed in a PDF attachment in an email I received well in advance of our stay. I had forgotten the email included that information because I assumed it would be available online as usual with our VRBO stays. Wi-Fi password was also listed on the PDF and also written on a post-it note tucked away in a kitchen drawer. Not easy to find, but we eventually found it.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable and very nice. There were LOTS of towels provided as well as soap and paper products. We thought the kitchen was not as clean, cupboards need to be wiped down and was a bit dusty. There were three full sized refrigerators available, which was terrific since we brought food for 6 adults and needed the space.
Overall, we had a terrific stay and would definitely stay again.

This was the 2nd time we rented Jeremy’s lake house for our family of 15. The house fit our family perfectly with all 4 couples having their own room; our 2 grandsons shared a room and all 5 granddaughters loved staying in the bunk room. The lower level was where the kids hung out most of the time if they weren’t in the water. Lots of elbow room for everyone. Just be prepared for a 30 minute or so drive for groceries. Great communication with Jeremy and also the property manager Jason. We had a great week!

We enjoyed our stay at Sunrise Serenity and would happily return. The home and dock are as pictured in the listing. The dock was perfect for our group, as we had 2 boats for a few days and a number of "floaties", all of which were well protected by the covered dock and we were able to recharge the boat batteries as the dock had electricity.
The layout of the house allowed for privacy for all guests and the kitchen was big enough to cook meals for the group without difficulty. That being said, the main living area could have used more, comfortable seating. With only two couches and one side chair, several of our group of 11 adults ended up sitting on a hard stool or dining chair when we were all gathered together.
The lower level living room was great for the younger folks and we all enjoyed the pool table. The decks were nice and there were several chairs available, but no loungers.
One recommendation - the hills are steep. At 69 years of age, I found a walking stick to be very helpful in going from the dock to the house and only wish I had brought two of them.

We hope to return to this beautiful, well stocked lakefront home. We enjoyed the indoor as well as outdoor amenities. Indoors there is a spacious dining table, island that seats 10, pool table, long spacious bar in rec room, Xbox, poker table and privacy in all 6 bedrooms. We used the grill and dock everyday and both the upper deck and lower, shaded deck have beautiful views. There is a level spot in the yard for lawn games and volleyball. There is LOTS of parking, although on a slope. I highly recommend.

The property both outside and interior of home are beautiful. We had 3 families traveling together for a lake getaway. This property worked perfectly. All ages enjoyed the outdoors (we brought kayaks and launched from dock) and indoors. The billiards table was a big hit! No lack of walking areas too. My wife and I are runners and enjoyed running the roads with hills. Quite a workout! Book this! You'll be impressed! The owners were quick to respond when we had a few hiccups. Thanks, guys!

This was the PERFECT lake house, directly off of the water and you couldn’t ask for a better view (inside and out). This was the first vacation that we actually looked forward to just hanging out at the lake house. I would also recommend adding the pontoon boat to your rental (if it’s available), we had a blast on it!!!
