UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT (02/01/2020) - Erick Lewko, manager of two neighboring 5-star VRBO luxury properties is now overseeing this property. Recent changes include re-decorating the main floor by adding significantly more seating, adding a second living room space near the bar, a new children's reading and play space on the second floor, an expanded dining room layout, additional televisions in 2 of the bedrooms, new artwork throughout the house, more bedding options, additional side tables and seating in the bedrooms, and more. Bayou Moon is a raised Acadian cottage on 8 park-like acres with 550' of water frontage and 30+ live oaks. Enjoy nature's paradise in this newly renovated 100 year old home. See pelicans, egrets, rabbits, fox, deer, and an occasional alligator. Bring your boat or rent one up 'da bayou'. Fish or crab from the pier... or if you prefer, Kenney's Seafood ( 1mi.) has fabulous live and cooked seafood including crawfish. Enjoy water sports on the bayou or relax in the large swimming pool. (Note diving board and slide have been removed). Large back and front porches, as well as ample space to grill and/or boil. Four bedrooms/four baths, three large living areas, gameroom with ping pong, wet bar, stainless appliances in kitchen, granite countertops, and much more. The Master bedroom has a King sized bed, bedroom 2 downstairs has a Queen bed, bedroom 3 downstairs has a Twin bed and a Queen bed (There is also a queen sized inflatable airbed available, if needed), bedroom 4 upstairs has a Full bed. New mattresses and bedding are now in all of the bedrooms and this home is always very clean. This area of Slidell is a 30-35 minute drive to the French Quarter via I-10.
Important note: Parties or events involving more than the registered guests are not allowed without approval and acceptance of a specific set of rules and fees arranged via management.
All rentals include a $500 refundable security deposit, a $99 damage insurance fee (listed as a "property fee" ), and a $250 charge for the cost of basic cleaning the home upon checkout.

This property was fabulous for our family of 8. Came in for our Family Reunion where we had family spread out all over NOLA .We enjoyed the house so much that we wished we had stayed a couple more days.

Plenty of room for a family of 7 adults. Very quiet setting. House could use a small amount of TLC, minor things like several blown light bulbs. Pool is larger than usual and works great. Pool could use a little tile maintenance. Grounds would be more beautiful if it was mowed a little more often. Covered porch on back deck has been removed, it isn't a covered seating area as pictured. Extremely hot without shade. AC in the house works great. Lots of seating throughout. Ping-pong table was hours of fun. All and all I give this property a 4 out of 5. I would definitely recommend this property.

The host was great. Easy communication. The house was ready earlier than the check in time, and he let me know in case I was waiting. Which, of course, he didn’t have to do. Pool and yard maintenance is well done, especially considering the size of the yard. We came to visit nearby family, so we’ll plan to stay here again.

We booked this home for family to stay in during our wedding weekend. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Served our purposes perfectly! Plenty of space. The property is quiet and beautiful! We took family photos by many of the stunning old oaks and I’m so excited to see the photos! Great for hosting a large family. Beds are comfortable and very inviting.

We had an absolute blast at this property. The kids LOVED the pool. The property was picturesque and calming. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. There was plenty of room to sleep and the playroom upstairs was an awesome addition! I actually got to relax and unwind while there. It’s close to the city and made it easy to run grab a couple little things here and there.

The house was the perfect place to host my daughters bridal party and to use the day of the wedding to get ready. The grounds were beautiful for outside bridal pictures. We are very grateful that the owners allowed us to use the house for the wedding day by having make up people, hair dressers, photographers and videographers on the property. It was the perfect day for my daughter!

The town of Slidell is full of great restaurants and any convenience you need. It was great being about 30-40 minutes from New Orleans and still being able to escape to our quiet retreat in the evenings. With nine adults, we had plenty of room to spread out, play board games and watch TV at this home.

This property was spectacular! It was close to New Orleans but provided a quiet, private, and relaxing atmosphere away from all the noise. The host was quick to respond and accommodating with our groups varying travel arrangements. It instantly felt like home.

We had a wonderful stay at this property - great access to Bayou Bonfouca, Liberty and Lake Pontchartrain. Spacious, extremely quiet with wonderful views. We enjoyed sightseeing, fishing and making trips into NOLA. Would definitely choose this property again.

Even with a problem, out of everyone’s control, it was taken care of quickly and professionally. Not one person in the group was unsatisfied with the accommodations. I would highly recommend this house for anyone going too the area.

This house was the filthiest house we have ever rented. We spent our first day cleaning everything. We took photos of black mold on AC vents, dust all over, grease and god only only knows what else on kitchen cupboards, silverware had food stick all over it, there was old food and crumbs stuck between the fridge and cabinets. The pool was green most of time, there was underwear in the side yard and down by the bayou. The beds on the main floor were absolutely uncomfortable. Over all you can tell the house and pool are NOT maintained properly for it to even be rented out to others. Such a shame because the property is beautiful and so is the house. Its just dirty and gross. I wish I could share the photos. I did send photos to the house manager after we left so they could see how bad it was. They wished I has told them when we got there but who wants to be bothered having a cleaning crew come with all our belongs and family? It was embarrassing enough for us to have invited our family there. We shouldn't even had to have dealt with it! I suggest finding another house to rent before staying here! Our family has stayed in Slidell before and there are WAY better places to stay!

Beautiful house, with a huge garden, a good swimming pool but not heated. A lot of bathroom, all aminities in the kitchen and the bar. Walmart is 12min, so convenient for shopping. 45 min to New Orleans

I would chose this home for the property manager alone. Great communication. Very attentive. Gave all the best recommendations on foods and activities. Slidell is a great treasure. The home was fantastic, location was close the everything yet had 100% privacy. Would highly recommend!!

The pool guy came twice to keep pool in check, and the chairs were relaxing to sit pool side. Any issues or questions Eric was very responsive and even came over twice to fix small issues. Rooms spacious, beds comfortable, and TVs and internet were up to date and fast speed. We were able to move tables and furniture around and make ourselves at home while there. Two grills and a deep fryer were under the house which made cooking food outside an option. Grounds were beautiful. Quite and private and no issues with neighbors or community. Felt safe! Easy to access stores and places to go in town. Only downsides to the house were no ice maker, no shower curtain on 4th bathroom, and it did get hot in some rooms due to lack of curtains. Sleeping in was tough due to the rooms upstairs being bright in am. Overall there was way more positive to say and it was such an enjoyable stay and Eric is an amazing friendly man who really wants you to enjoy your time at the house and area.
