Perfect location for central York with free parking. Friendly host.
Shower was hard to control. Noisy room on main road, wi dow open due to temperature in the room.

Location and had car parking
Staff very pleasant and friendly
One room had a broken shower so our friends were unable to shower the whole stay. A plumber did attend but unable to fix it. No alternative facility available which was very disappointing

I have stayed here on a number of occasions, as it is ideal for my type of stay. Comfortable, friendly, value for money and a good location to get into town. Have already booked my next stay.
Only minor concern is worrying if parking will be available, on arrival. Limited car parking spaces, on a first come, first served basis. On recent stays i have fortunately had no problems getting parked on site.

Excellent location, warm hosts, clean and comfortable bed, excellent beer and tuneful live music. Brilliant value for money, given how expensive staying in York is.
Raquel Welch knocking on the door at midnight. I told her to buzz off. I need my beauty sleep.
3.9
Close to the centre with on site parking, cosy room with everything you need for an overnight stay

The shower and the beds are fine.
The room is right above a bar (which is part of the same business of the hotel) and catches a lot of noise of the bar (which works until 23pm) and of the street as well. So avoid it if you don't like noisy places.
Also, there was an very bright green emergency light on the ceiling, which disturbed my sleep a lot. On the second day the staff said they would cover it up, but they simply didn't do anything.

It was very close to our venue and the town centre. We could come and go as we pleased and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was also nice.
We couldn’t work out how to close our window and the tv wouldn’t turn on but I’m sure it would have been sorted out if we had asked for help. The decor could also do with some touch ups but this problem is purely cosmetic. I wish there were more options for breakfast as well.

very pleasant stay
nothing really

The room was nice and warm and bed was comfy but creaky. My breakfast was excellent and the staff member very nice and welcoming. The shower was nice and hot and complimentary toiletries provided.
I was in a single room 5. Room just needs a refresh which I am sure they are aware of. Heating was on all night which there is no need to do!

A good breakfast. A small value led Hotel, which is improving with new business operators

NightArrived beautiful hanging baskets outside.
Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Pub nice inside.
Had roast dinner on Sunday was amasing.highly recommend coffee tea biscuits in room.
Karaoke on sunday in the bar.
The property met my expectations partly.
The mattress very uncomfortable ,and only one pillow.which was also uncomfortable.
The room really needs updating window frame had black mould, also in the shower.

The pub was ok
We arrived early and said that we were there to check in but would go out and check in at the correct time. We went back only to be told I should’ve received a phone call to cancel the booking as there was a leak in the room we we’re supposed to be in. I didn’t receive a phone call otherwise we wouldn’t have arrived. I didn’t have a voicemail left and the first person we spoke to upon arrival didn’t say anything either. As it turned out I found another place around the corner that was only happy to take a last minute booking. I definitely would t recommend you this place. There was a wake being held in the bar when we arrived and I think they had decided to give the room to one of the people attending. Would not recommend.

The person at the counter was very friendly and explained everything we need to know about the room and the hotel. The room was very clean, it had an electric kettle, access to iron and ironing board as well as dryer.
WiFi was seriously terrible ): the intensity was really low, it was slow and it kept disconnecting from our devices
Even though the weather outside was lovely, our room became too hot and didn't cool off at night. We would have appreciated a fan in the room.

It is walking distance to the walled city of York. The room looked like it had been recently renovated. Very comfy and clean. Food and drink very reasonable and more than enough.
A bit of noise from the bar and traffic.
3.9
Room was dirty with pubic hair (not ours) in numerous places in the bathroom. It clearly had not had a good clean on the floor for sometime, with a thick layer of dust. There was a hole in the wall near the sink where the tiles had just been left and a general damp smell with black mould on the walls. The pub itself smells like old grease and damp and the landlady was abrupt at best
3.9
it’s closeness to the Barbican and the fact it was comparatively cheap compared to other accommodations
Room smelt of drains - no fan and was a warm day so had to leave window open next a v busy road - emergency light in room kept me awake

Great price for two nights. short walk to the city centre. Car park available
Road noise. I brought ear plugs and it was fine.

Excellent value for money for hotel within easy walking distance of all Yorks attractions.
Staff very friendly
Free parking a great bonus
It’s a pub/ hotel so expect accommodation accordingly. Very clean room & comfy bed. What more could one expect for the price.
Breakfast was lovely and reasonably priced too
Nothing

We stayed not long after new management took over. They were super friendly and transparent about what they were working on. A few renovations going on but didn't disturb our stay at all. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done!

Breakfast was Absolutely delicious, Bed was so comfortable, it was like floating on air, didn't want to get out of it. Landlady, Staff, and the Chef, went above and beyond for us. I definitely Recommend the Victoria Hotel to everyone.
Everything was Spot on, Wonderfull.

Great location.
Nothing really.

The convenience of 10 minutes walk to town and other sight seeing areas. It had the amenities nessary for a stay and a pub downstairs for a drink or two.
Needs a refresh/fixing of a few things in the room. Owner has been informed. A cheap room at a cheap standard as should be expected.
3.9
Good location for a short visit to York - 15-20 mins walk into the centre.
Hotel was a little dated but seemingly it is to be upgraded soon. Beds comfortable and shower hot!
Nice little pub underneath the hotel accommodation with a good selection of beers/wine at reasonable prices.
Would definitely recommend as a base to visit the city.
The hotel lived up to my expectations so not sure there was anything more that could have been done!

Justine was lovely nothing was too much trouble.Really good spot to be near the Barbican.
Bed really comfy.

hotel is in a very good location only a 15 minute walk with a bus stop right outside. The property is recently under new management and the lady who owns it is so lovely and would do anything she could to help.
Due to the property having a change of hands really recently there was a few things that weren’t the best. there was no telly in the room, or should i say there was a telly but no where to plug it in. the blinds aren’t blackout do means an early rise.
