Great character building, nice bar / restaurant abd excellent breakfast.
Wasn’t clear that the room booked wasn’t in the property itself but almost like a little annexe of chalet type rooms to the rear.
4.3
The location was excellent, our room was lovely and the outdoor seating area was excellent. The receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming
The heat in the room. The sink tap. The heat in the hotel toilets
4.3
The room was very comfortable and accessible. It had lots of nice touches and decent toilettries, towls and linen. it was a very quiet room and peaceful night.
I especially liked the cooked breakfast. much better than most I would say.
Staff really poite, helpful and friendly.
The only issue was that the parking was a 15 min walk away, which when laden with bags and a friend who has to use a walking stick, this was a chore but we got tghrough it. It was worth it in the end.

The hotel was generally clean, breakfast was really nice, and location was excellent.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the room was not cleaned over the 3 nights (just a turn down and towel replacement). Our bed clothes were just thrown on the floor and an acrylic nail had snapped off in our bed.
The bar was packed, with no standing or sitting room, but you could not make reservations. It was also double the price of all the surrounding bars and restaurants.p
The staff were pleasant, but nowhere near the standard as advertised.
The pigeons were overrunning, as the noise was constant, which could be solved with the local birds of prey experts.
The breakfast was the best thing about our stay, but we were left with no tea or coffee after the first one.

Extremely friendly welcome. Great facilities with exceptional cleanliness. Good attention to details with extra touches such as the eye mask, ear plugs and dressing gowns supplied.
Room was close to staff area which was regularly used and a little loud when opening/ closing the door.
4.3
Great location. Period property. Good features
Rooms very small and cramped. Not good value for money. Reception staff were very unwelcoming and rude. Bathroom tiny and needs updating. Only one bedside lamp. £300 per night was not good value for money.

Location
The bathroom was very tired and had some rather worrying marks on the toilet seat.reception staff were very nice and helpful however out first introduction to the place was through the cellar bar and the woman that was running that was very curt and rude and extremely unhelpful .We had booked the cellar for dinner in the evening but after that encounter decided it to bother and booked a table across the road for dinner .I don’t think that would have been the only dinner /lunch booking you would have lost due to her manners of lack of them .unfortunately breakfast was in the same area the cellar bar and she really was a very rude woman asked us for our breakfast order or should say demanded then didn’t allow us to complete our order before repeating the incomplete order back to us then sighing when we said no please let us finish the order .she came into the breakfast room giving us all a very loud warning the buffet food would be removed in 10 mins and did so concurrently everything two minutes….it will be closed in 8minutes ….it will be closed in6 minutes …this did not make for a very good relaxing breakfast at all .I’m not sure what form of training she had because she filled my partners coffee cup up to the rim thus not allowing him to add milk .

Ok
4.3
The history behind the building, the attention to detail.
Excellent choice at breakfast, comfortable bed
Not a very relaxing start to the day, as the local refuse collection at around 6am, where the local bars and restaurants have their bottles removed
4.3
Nothing.
The rooms were in extremely bad location. Pigeons flying around, our rooms faced directly to the range hood from the kitchen. Loud, dirty, and damp, didn’t meet our expectations at all. However that’s not the worst part. Their service and the attitude of the staff are what disappointed us the most. The service had been extremely APPALLING. It wasn’t fair that the staff treated us differently from other guests. I clearly heard that when they spoke to other British guests they were nice and respectful whereas as soon as they turned to us, they treated us without much patience, no respect, even with an attitude. May I ask why? Was it because you think we are tourists that you don’t care? Or was it because this is just how you run the place? My family came to visit me for my graduation and I felt so sorry for them to experience these. This place should reflect on how you want to treat people because NO ONE wants to come to a place that treats people differently! We would NEVER want to come back to this place. Because of this place and the people’s attitude here, we had a bad mood and a bad impression of this city. I sincerely felt shameful for you. We wouldn’t suggest anyone come to this place until they realised their problems.

Food excellent.
Room 10. Not as good as expected considering the price paid. Lack of surfaces for personal items. Only table available marred by kettle and coffee machine and tray with crockery, water,T bags etc. so little space left if bathroom occupied for makeup and their heavy portable silver mirror etc. Whirlpool bath/shower access dangerous considering my height of 4ft 11ins. Single glazed windows original sash so early morning noise from outside conversations plus bins and bottles being emptied. Asked reception if housekeeping could provide a firm pillow but was told they were all the same.

Room very cozy, Breakfast very good, location is ideal for walking around however parking is off site for obvious reasons.
The rain ! Bar very busy at night hard to get served.
4.3
Location is great, right in the centre
Room 8 has a rooflight with no means of blackout, so was woken at dawn (5am!)
4.3
Breakfast was good, good vegetarian options
I asked for a blanket, first time wasn’t brought up and second time I asked the blanket brought up was a bit of fleece that was very dirty.

Got an upgrade to a bigger room-perfect!
4.3
Breakfast was good. Food good but pricey in restaurant. Staff helpful. Central location excellent.
Noise from the bar / drinking area in hotel forecourt. Hadn't realised it was essentially a bar / restaurant with rooms. Room hot and needed fan supplied.
4.3
Lovely old building and good facilities. Staff were very friendly.
Room was very warm so needed to open windows and, being on the front of the building, there was some night-time noise, namely bin emptying and revellers.
4.3
The room was lovely, the bar was great, food was exceptional. Hotel is in a great location.
Quite tricky to drop off at hotel but worth investigating to ensure u can and not hauling around.
