About this cottage rental
Welcome to Biscay Pond- an undiscovered peaceful 3 mile lake where you can be the only boat for most of the day (M-F) and just a few more on the weekends. From your own dock you can explore over 28 miles of fresh water lakes and rivers in your canoe or kayak - power boats can navigate Biscay and Pemiquid lakes. This location is a kayak paradise. If the fresh water is not enough you can take a short ride to the ocean and explore the endless miles of ocean rivers and islands.
Within minutes you can drive to Damariscotta for full shopping and entertainment. Minutes in the other direction and you on the ocean.
Relax and just watch the water from the closed in porch or the patio in the front yard or enjoy many water activity.
Warning - it's quiet at night- many people have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. Mid coast Maine is a paradise of fresh and salt water lakes and rivers- you could spend a lifetime trying to visit or fish them all.

The location on the lakefront is exceptional and that's it.
The mattresses need to be changed, they are very old and we sleep very poorly there.
The bed covers are stained, obviously they haven't been washed for a long time.
The second fan in the second bedroom is not working and both fans have not been cleaned in a long time.
The cushions of the armchairs in the veranda are also stained.
The hand towel pole in the bathroom falls every time the towel is used. We fixed it ourselves.
Be careful, we picked up pieces of broken glass several times outside, all over the field.
The dock needs to be solidified.
The chalet is rustic and smells of damp. Clearly it needs better maintenance.
Also be careful, the only instructions given are sent in an email with the chalet reservation, several weeks before our arrival. No instructions on site, as is usual in all chalets I have rented in the past. The owner criticized us for leaving the garbage bags in plain sight outside the chalet when we left. This is the first time in my life that I have been asked to leave with my garbage after a stay in a rented house.
As we had two dogs with us, we vacuumed twice before leaving and leaving the chalet in immaculate condition. We left an amount of US$150 cash with the owner for the dogs since we had forgotten to specify this at the time of booking, although the advertisement indicates that dogs are allowed.
In short, the location is exceptional, but for a two-week stay, the state of the h

Bill was so very nice and 100% accommodating. His place was very neat and clean. The property is very well maintained, private and peaceful. His cousin , Darcy, lives 2 doors down and is readily available should there be any questions or concerns. We enjoyed the lions at night and the stars were mesmerizing along with the fireflies. Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to returning next year.

It is a quiet, relaxing, cozy cabin with great views and fishing. Close to town. Would stay again!

It was very difficult for me to be in the situation with no Internet and much too far to drive into town every time I needed it. I also didn’t realize that he didn’t supply linens and towels so well though the location was gorgeous those were too big problems for me I really don’t know if I mentioned that on the online booking but I was taken by surprise. The place was a little funky for my taste

Linens should have been automatically included and the linens they ended up supplying could have been nicer. I also think that putting the trash in the trash can should have been enough rather than taking it to the dump. Torn, dilapidated furniture could have been nicer. Not sure about the reason for the old musty books. Nice deck over the lake, TV worked. Close to town.

Perfect location
We really enjoyed our stay. It was just two of us and our dog that loves the water and swam everyday. Kayaking was wonderful and we also caught fish right off the dock!
The only thing that I would warn others about are the steep steps thst could be a problem for the very young or elderly. Overall great week!!!

Fantastic View!
Fabulous view and a great location on the lake! Campy but extremely clean. A rustic property that was a perfect getaway for the 2 of us! The host provided us with lots of detailed instructions and recommendations and was quick to respond to all our questions!

Living the lobster life
The cottage is a throw back to the 50's and 60's. Very vintage, very retro and the most peaceful week that we have experienced in a very long time. We didn't have internet service so we went to the coffee shop in Damariscotta and enjoyed that quaint little village. All in all we will go back and hopefully spend more time enjoying the BEAUTIFUL view and watching the world go by. By the way the lobsters were WONDERFUL and Bill gave us a few places to go to that the locals go to,thanks Bill.

Camp Rental
This was a lovely camp with pretty much all of the comforts of home. Terrific porch in the front overlooking the lake. Very quiet and felt safe. DVD player doesn’t work and I didn’t see a coin op washing machine. Really wished we could have had a place to have a camp fire. That was the biggest thing missing. All in all, great place to rent a camp.

Disappointed
House had not been cleaned, mouse dropping all over cupboard and mouse holes in the ceilings. Too bad because the pond is lovely and house location. Lucky that my parents lived 15 minutes away for us to cook and sleep there. Disgusting house and hopefully owner will sell it to someone who will take care of the property.

Loooved this cabin on Biscay Pond, Damariscotta, Maine!
I spent a full month in this cabin and was very comfortable and happy! It's not a 5 star hotel, but that wasn't what I wanted or needed. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything I needed, and the shower had good pressure. There's a wonderful sunporch overlooking the lake where I drank my coffee and ate my meals. It was very quiet there with very little traffic on a dirt lane. I swam everyday in the lake, the temperature was perfect. It's only 3 miles to town where there's everything you could need yet far enough out to be away from the hustle and bustle. The owner is reachable if you might need help with anything. I highly recommend this cottage! I loooved my month on Biscay Pond:)
