Briarpatch is an upscale vacation rental home within Virginia’s Wintergreen Resort located in the prestigious Devil's Knob Loop area. Briarpatch is part of the Wintergreen Retreat vacation home collection and was built with attention to details, so you can be assured of a comfortable stay with high quality furnishings and accessories. The house is just a short hike to gorgeous scenic overlooks and within walking distance to the WinterGarden Spa. Ideally setup for 1-2 families - the house comfortably sleeps up to 10 in 4 bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths.

Briarpatch features many upscale amenities, including:
Kitchen and Dining area - has been updated with a new GE Profile and Whirlpool premium appliances, and has a fully stocked kitchen with All-Clad cookware. Granite countertops with stools to seat 4 and a large dining table with chairs and benches for 8. Wood burning Stone fireplace with oak mantle.

Downstairs:
Living Room - Large LED TV, assortment of movies on DVD.
Den with 50” Smart LED TV and large sleeper sofa.
Master Bedroom Suite - Vaulted ceilings, LCD Flatscreen, king size bed, private bath separate shower and jetted tub.

Upstairs:
Children’s Room with 1 Full Size trundle bed with a Twin bed underneath.
Family Suite with 1 Queen bed, 50” Smart LED TV and an adjoining room with 2 Twin beds.

Came here to release some of my mother’s ashes since her passing in November. My mother always told us she wanted her ashes to be released in wintergreen so since she passed away in November and her birthday is February 4th I decided her birthday would be the perfect day to celebrate her. The house was beautiful and perfect for us. I contacted the owner and asked a question in our stay and they went above and beyond to help us out. We were extremely grateful with them accommodating us. We will now be making this a yearly trip to celebrate my mother.

The house is beautiful, the location is perfect, and the furnishings are great. Just be aware that they day you check in, you will need to put the sheets on five beds and unload the dishwasher. Not the way I was expecting to spend my first evening of vacation. Then, on your check out day, you will need to strip all of the beds, empty all trash cans and haul out the trash a mile away, run the dishwasher and have the house "broom ready," all by 10AM in the morning. Wonderful house otherwise.

We stayed at Briarpatch in Oct 2023. It was a very nice, comfortable, and well-stocked house. The kitchen had lots of nice cookware and the little extras, like coffee, spices, and gadgets. The appliances were very good and worked well. We also enjoyed the dining area by the fireplace and the large great room with windows that make you feel like you’re outside in the woods. The beds and the newer sectional couch are really comfortable. The TV was a great size for watching movies, sports, etc. We liked the ramp to the front porch that was just a few steps off the deck and the driveway for easy access. We hope to come back to this house again.

So well stocked, such a great location. This is a great place to start your adventure in Wintergreen, VA. All the necessary gear, at a welcoming home. The old AT is just a few minutes away. If you love the mountains, this is your next rental.

Very well maintained property in general with many extras like linens, towels, loads of silverwear, glasswear, pots and kitchen appliances. The master bed was very comfortable - the upstairs beds were less so for adults. Other than that we had a great time.

We stayed here with family to attend my daughters graduation Lynchburg. Although this was an hour away from the graduation, it was the only lodging we could find, we don't regret the drive. It was a perfectly peaceful location to stay. We loved staying at this location. Very quiet and serene. The look outs on the resort had amazing views. The house accommodations were perfect for the 8 of us staying. My handicapped mother in law had her own space and bathroom downstairs and that gave her and all of us peace of mind. Nathan was very helpful and attentive to any questions we had about things in the house. If it weren't for the 17 hour drive from Texas to here, we would definitely stay again.

Nice home in a quiet neighborhood. Have to say it was the best supplied and best equipped I have ever stayed in . Only down side would be anyone with knee or back issues beware … the toilets are very low .

Our family loved staying here for spring break. The house was lovely and the kitchen has absolutely everything you will need. Be sure to look before you go to the grocery store. Beds were very comfortable and the downstairs furniture was too! We had a wonderful time exploring Waynesboro, Appamatox Courthouse National Historic Park, Monticello, and Shenandoah National Park. We also were able to do a bike trail on the Blue Ridge Railway Trail for about 9 miles! Very fun.

Our 3 night stay was excellent. This is a great location, the common areas are large and the entire property is well-kept and has state of the art electronics. Comfy couches, plenty of kitchenware, no complaints. We would stay here again!

We had the best time at the Wintergreen Briarpatch. The house was spotless and fully stocked. There wasn't any firewood but Nathan responded to my text immediately and we had firewood the next morning. Very comfortable and cozy. We would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend!

The windows gave us the feeling of being in the forest regardless of the houses not too far off. The road to the area is 15% grade so a winter stay might be interesting! The beds in the master & upstairs on the left were comfy but the other upstairs bed was hard. I'd definately recommend staying here. It's well stocked except for paper plates, napkins, kleenex, bath soap & quart sized sandwich bags.

Our multi generational family loved the house! Quiet spots for the children to nap while adults could visit and play games downstairs. Found local (walkable) overlooks and hikes perfect for all ages. Only 30 minute drive to family wedding in Afton. It was just what we hoped for!
