About this house rental
Beautiful 19-acre one-of-a-kind riverfront retreat at the confluence of the Russian River and Big Creek in the Sonoma Wine Country’s Alexander Valley of northern California. Several private beaches offer fantastic world-class river swimming in clear, relatively warm comfortable water (about 9-degrees warmer than most California rivers) with a reasonably mild current, all in a wonderful natural setting teeming with wild life - - the trout fingerlings will nibble at your toes! Downstream towns like Rio Vista and Guerneville, while charming, offer less ideal river swimming conditions because they are often located in cooler redwood forests and the water isn’t as clear.
The comfortable, clean 3-bedroom (all with walk-in closets) 2 ½ bath house (sleeps 6 + 2 sleeper couch = 8) includes a 7-person hot tub/spa, TV (all cable channels), DVR, Wi-Fi, propane BBQ, decks, fire pit, fruit tree orchard and separate Horse Barn game room/beach clean-up station with pool table, darts, horseshoes and badminton, basketball hoop and an outdoor shower.
The peninsula property is located in Cloverdale, 3 minutes from downtown, only 20 minutes from enchanting Victorian Healdsburg and surrounded by 40 notable Alexander Valley vineyards including Rodney Strong, Francis Ford Coppola, Ferrari Carano, Dry Creek Vineyards, Fritz and Geyser Peak. Just 80 easy freeway miles north of San Francisco. Enjoy a perfect summer day with wine-tasting in the morning, beaches in the afternoon and fine dining and hot tub under the stars at night. In summertime, it’s fabulous swimming and hot, dry weather (limited floaties provided for guests). A great road trip includes small river towns nestled in redwood groves like Monte Rio and Forestville, then on to the Pacific where the misty rock pillars of Jenner tower majestically in the sea. Don’t miss old Fort Ross, the early 19th century Russian empire fur trading post, and magical Mendocino, the Victorian gem atop the cliffs overlooking the ocean. Sorry no pets; non-smokers only. Check out our Sunday night special for $550! Have a great trip!
SUGGESTION: Stay all day at Two Rivers as a “destination” resort: Excellent river swimming at 6 private beaches; downriver floating; hot tub; fishing (license required) and cray-fishing (no license required – Owner will lend Guest a crawdad trap upon request); game room with pool table, darts, badminton, basketball hoop, ping-pong / beer pong table, etc.; camp fire pit; property exploration over 19 acres; riverside and in-river lounging; BBQ; star-gazing under Cloverdale’s renown summer night skies; and birding -- best areas are at the confluence of 2 streams at Two Rivers Beach and also the woodpecker colony at entrance on Big Creek.
*the caretaker's cabin is next to the house, you may knock on their door if you’re in need anything. You will not be bothered and they don't use the facilities. Presence of docks on water are subject to river water level. No more than 8 people allowed on property at a time, no parties. Internet can be spotty at times, good cell service.*

Very comfortable house. Beautiful property with perfect river access.

From reservation to check out everything was wonderful! Steve was. Fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed for the house and the river. As it was an exceptional hot week he even brought us some fans. Kids love the fishing nets and catching crawlers. Adults loved the sitting and relaxing in the river and the beauty of it all! Stay here! You won’t regret it.

Tubing on the river was fun. Tubes were provided. There is a hot tub to warm yourself in after the cold of the river. We enjoyed our stay.

Two years ago, we ventured to this property with another family and had an absolute blast during the summer. So, we decided to return to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The transition from summer to spring brought a whole new perspective to our visit. We were able to gather around a massive campfire and bask in the beauty of Mother Nature as the colors changed and the grass turned lush green. Our hosts, Tova and Steve, truly made our stay unforgettable with their warmth and hospitality. Steve even treated us to a delightful bird-watching excursion, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. This hidden gem has become our go-to spot for family and friends looking for a tranquil getaway. I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone seeking a memorable retreat.

This was our second time at this property and we hope to return again in the future. If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax but still have plenty of fun things to do as a family this is it! We spent most days on the river and also enjoyed the hot tub and activities at the horse barn. The beds are so comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. It’s clean and very well maintained. I would not change a thing about this place, we love Two Rivers!

The property was pretty much perfect for our family of five. The house was clean and the owners had thought of practically everything. Our family really enjoyed the river.
Besides that, it is conveniently located to downtown Cloverdale and other activities. The caretaker, Steve, is an awesome host. Check in and out was very easy.
Overall, a great spot!

I booked this house for 8 members of my family visiting for a reunion and did not stay here; I and the rest of our group stayed nearby. The family loved the venue, especially the access to the Russian River.
This review is not 5 stars because the owner says she misunderstood the fact that I and my 7 family members in the nearby house wanted to spend some daytime hours enjoying the river access with the rest of our family who were staying at this house. We had travelers from as far away as Texas, and we selected our 2 vacation houses many weeks in advance. Spending time together was a top criterion. My booking specifically explained our desire to visit only during the day. The booking was confirmed.
I paid the entire amount the day we booked. Later, I received the 11-page Hold Harmless Agreement, which requires initials and signatures, One provision states that the property capacity limit is 8 for the house; 2 more can visit but not overnight, subject to the discretion of the owner. I emailed the owner, reminding her of our desire for as many as 16 to be on the property during part of the visit. She cancelled our booking, saying it didn't meet our needs. She sent an email apologizing for her misunderstanding, but it arrived in the late afternoon on a Friday when we were away, and she had already started refund procedures. Very stressful, as there were no similar venues nearby. We were able to re-book, but could not gather on the property, which was a big disappointment.

Another summer, another fantastic stay at Two Rivers. It is a magical place with wonderful hosts and it is perfect for our family of five. We return every summer and everyone in our crew loves the river and the house. We can't wait to return for our sixth summer next year.

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the two rivers property. It was a cool weekend for June, so we did not really spend time at the river but had lots of fun at the hot tub. The house is spacious and clean and fit us all well.

Two Rivers offered us a peaceful week in nature. Clean and comfortable house with 3 good size bedrooms. Well-stocked kitchen. Very large back porch with full-size table and chairs, lounge area, and outdoor ceiling fans. Hot tub with additional outdoor seating close by. The nearby Barn is a rustic outpost -- we enjoyed the outdoor ping pong table and some other fun toys. It was too cold to take advantage of the river, but we used the hot tub and walked on the nature trails, listened to the river water, and observed lots of animals (hummingbirds, deer, birds, etc.).
The Dahlia & Sage Community Market in Cloverdale was less then 10 minute away by car -- convenient spot for organic produce and groceries if you want to cook at the house.
Our host, Steve, treated us to a local bottle of wine and some lemons from trees on the property. He helped us figure out how to charge our electric car on site (Level 1 regular outlet so a slow charge, but useful if you aren't driving a lot). The internet was not working when we arrived and Steve arranged for a technician to arrive the next business day to get it fixed.
Small items of note: Only one TV in the living room (great if you want to disconnect), internet was working nicely when we left (although on the slower side), beds look to be quite new (but a bit soft for our taste -- but this is a personal preference).
The hosts really care for this special property and provide lots of little extras to help you take advantage of time for fun and relaxing (inner tubes, river shoes, pool noodles, badminton set, plastic chairs and hammocks, signage on property so you can figure out where everything is). Great visit!

We thought the property was comfortable and quiet. I perfect place for our wine tasting week. Size was good for 3 couples, and kitchen big enough and stocked well for cooking.

The direct access to the river and all of the gear was incredible. We spent our days at Shady beach, a shallow and slow moving part of the river that was safe for our 19 month old to toddle around and fun for our 5 year old to explore. With the help of Dad, they caught several small mouth bass and released them. Steve and his family have gone to great lengths providing umbrellas (with nifty stands in the water), chairs, floaties, water toys and wagons to haul it all. The house was perfect; it was comfortable with ample instructions around. There are many areas to relax around the property and the hot tub is a dream. Cloverdale is very close and has a nice small town vibe. Highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful rental. Clean and tidy and I have high standards. Beds were extremely comfortable! Spent all our time in the river, so perfect. Also, very close to town with grocery, pharmacy and small restaurants. Back porch is amazing. Wildlife everyday. Would absolutely rent it again!

Great location, good value
This retreat was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 4 children (ages 4-14). There was little need to leave the property though we appreciated the close access to downtown Cloverdale for grocery shopping or a restaurant. There was something for everyone from the river to the hot tub to basketball and ping pong for the kids. The back deck offered a large outdoor dining space with the sounds of the river. We appreciated the layout such that it was never too close for comfort with a group our size. The host was on site but we still enjoyed our privacy. We found the host to be helpful and responsive. I would recommend this river retreat for all ages!

Excellent vacation
It was an excellent vacation for 3 days. We were in the property all the time, except one evening when we drove to center of Cloverville, since there was happening with music and food there. There rest of the time we (5 adults 2 children) were at the house, in the river and in the hot tub. We really enjoyed our time. The house has everything we needed. It was great.

Our Favorite Family Vacation Spot
Once again our family had an incredible time on this gorgeous property with wonderful hosts. We can't wait to come back next year!

Listing was inaccurate. Host/caretaker lives on property just feet from main house.
The house/location is great. Directions were not accurate and took some work to find. The caretaker visited frequently to check in which was not ideal for a busy wedding weekend. The caretaker woke up quests early on checkout day and did not respect our privacy.
There were also lots of notes throughout the house for items which were common sense.
The host/caretaker questioned us about what we used frequently and also wanted to make sure we didn’t break anything.
This was not transparent in the listing and I would never have booked if I knew we we’re going to have no privacy.
People shouldn’t rent their houses if they have control issues like this. Very disappointed.

Best getaway retreat
We absolutely LOVE this place. We want to come back there every year as our summer retreat. Thank you Tova and Steve for your hospitality.
Thank you for the handwritten notes and fresh picked apricots!
The property offers a variety of activities that fit everyone’s needs, from floating down the river to sitting by the fire pit. It can be relaxing and fun at the same time. We also love the big tree outside of the house. After the kids went to bed, we were enjoying ice creams and wines under that tree, what an wonderful way to hangout with your love ones. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and families!

A getaway paradise for families!
The host Steve was absolutely wonderful, warm, friendly and welcoming.
The property is as the title says a paradise getaway for a family. We brought our kids bicycles and they had so much fun exploring the 19 acres on their bikes. The beaches and rivers were absolutely amazing and relaxing. The house had everything you need. Plenty of room, a hot tub, fire pit, grill, game barn, floaties for river etc.
We definitely want to come back.
Thank you Steve!

great summer getaway to the river!
My family enjoyed a great long weekend in this unique spot! There is so much to do and everything is setup very thoughtfully. The property map provided at check in made it easy and fun to explore. The highlight was definitely hanging out in the Russian River! The house came with everything you'd need to have an awesome day, including some things you didn't even know you wanted (like umbrellas and chairs for in the water). The hot tub was great too. Overall it was a great setting for our family gathering. We'll probably return with friends next time!

Your private Russian river and nature’s paradise
Our family of four and our friends had the most amazing time here. We had this huge property all to ourselves which included private access to the Russian river. The river access was kids friendly and the property is equipped with all things that you need to enjoy the river and the huge space. Steve has thought of every small and big thing that renters might need and has made provision for it. Floating in a river onboard floaties was a very unique experience for kids and adults. We didn’t want to leave! Adults also enjoyed hot tub in the night. The house was clean and very spacious. We spent most of our time outdoors in the river or playing games in the horse barn. We will be back and highly recommend this place to our friends and family.

Best location!
This property was everything we were looking for! It’s cute charm caught all of our eyes. The River was the best part! Not to mention the spacious covered back porch. We all had such a blast and great memories here at two rivers. I have saved this property because we will definitely be coming back. The hosts were amazing and informative as well. The caretaker is stays in the house next to the home but gave us our complete privacy. Hands down one of the best places we have all stayed!

Splendid Sonoma Retreat
A truly idyllic retreat surrounded by vineyards and set on 19 acres of fruit orchards, woodlands, and within minutes walk of four or five secluded Russian River beaches. The house is spacious and clean and beautifully and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is generously equipped with every tool and convenience needed. The owners were accommodating, generous, and hospitable—from reservation to welcome to check out. The “barn” houses a pool table, ping pong table, dart board and a multitude of inflatable water raftsmen every shape and size. The owners even provided water shoes in every size! Superlatives cover every detail of ‘Two Rivers’, and we cannot say thank you enough for the privilege of gathering our family at this wonderful retreat! There was something for everyone from age 4 through grandparents.

Fun and relaxation by the river!
We had a wonderful time during our four nights here - and would have loved to stay longer! The house was cool, clean and so comfortable for our family getaway. There was plenty of space for everyone to have a slice of privacy while still feeling close together. The decks are spacious and shady - perfect for summer family meals and with enough space for the kids to play while the grownups rest. We spent lazy days by the river, played ping pong, picked fruit. Steve was a wonderful host. Helpful and nearby, even though we only saw him at arrival and departure. We would love to come back in the fall to use the fire pit and hot tub (which seems terrific - but we visited during a heat wave)!

The Best!
We had the best time! The property felt like our own private island. Our family enjoyed exploring all the beaches. The game room was a fun place to play while swim suits were drying. The river was low and the water was warm. It was very safe for our little ones and the property was perfect set up for them to play. All the patios are gated so if you have toddlers they can play without going down the stairs. The town is 5 minutes away. They have great food, breweries, wine and activities check it out.
The owners have done a fantastic job with this property. You will enjoy your stay!
