Designed for two, the Herons' Nest condo is a private and unique hideaway. Nestled in Tybee's historical Venetian Terrace District and sandwiched between the Atlantic Ocean and the Back River Inlet. The Herons' Nest offers a quiet retreat for honeymoons, anniversaries and rest and relaxation for hardworking couples. Lovingly designed by Tybee artists, Fred and Malinda Urvant, the condo reflects their eclectic Art-Deco style of design. Original paintings by the late Soho artist Larry Urvant and photographs by Fred Urvant adorn the walls. Restored Art-Deco furnishings and white tile floors complete the condo's cozy design.

Play on Tybee's scenic Back River Beaches and return to your own private tropical garden to rest and relax. Enjoy a cool drink on your spacious screened porch or soak in the warm waters of your own private 4-person Jacuzzi. Very nice place to stay for a couple. Great location, very clean in a quiet neighborhood. We would love to come again when it’s cold outside so we could take advantage of the hot tub.

AC was an issue. It stopped working the second day of our stay. Owners who live up stairs did have it fixed on Wed., but went out again Thursday and suffered again during evening and night. At that point we were leaving on Friday, so didn't see a point to report it again..we wouldn't stay again.

Loved our 3 day stay over St.Patty’s weekend. This place is close to everything. 3 min walk to secluded Tybee River beach. Plus, 5 min walk to one of the best restaurants in the island,AJ’s. The Herrons Nest is comfortable, and the neighborhood is quiet and clean. Easy to get a Uber for a jaunt to Savannah. Thank you for a very well hosted stay on Tybee.

Nice cottage for 2. We enjoyed our stay very much. Host was very nice and allowed an early check in, which was very helpful. Cottage just as described. Just a 2 night getaway before family descended for Christmas. Would suggest upgrading the bed linens, thin and wouldn’t stay on the bed. And although there was a nice selection of movies, the DVD player didn’t work and requests for help went unanswered.

The space was lovely. We had 4 stars for the following reason. Hosts were staying upstairs and we thought we would have the whole place private. I accidentally walked into the private quarters upon arrival and was greeted by a cat. We weren't informed of check in process until asked - ended up being easy - everything unlocked and open, but would have liked to know ahead of time. Location was wonderful and all accommodations needed were provided.

The place is secluded and great walking distance from the heart of Tybee Island! We enjoyed the hot tub and cozy cottage with screened in porch. Highly recommended for couples looking to get away together

We had a fun time at Tybee. Fred was there to greet us and orient us on the jacuzzi use when we first arrived plus kindly helped us when we needed a bit of first aid. The location is nice! It’s a short walk to the beach, eateries and souvenir shops but is in a quiet section of the neighborhood. Be aware that you’ll need mosquito repellent and that the tv is is not Roku or “smart”. There’s a DVD player and some DVDs. The love seat is a little tight if you’re used to sprawling out to relax but was comfortable otherwise. We had a great visit overall and enjoyed the apartment and seaside decor.

We very much enjoyed our getaway - the home was clean, lots of charm and fantastic outdoor areas. The hosts very clearly aim to make sure guests can relax as they provide many things that aren't standard at all rentals. The location was great - close to the beaches, shopping and restaurants, yet in a quiet neighborhood. The bikes provided were an added bonus.

This property is exactly as described and went beyond our expectations. The owners were very hospitable and have spent a great deal of time equipping their rental to meet their guest’s needs. We could have not have had a more enjoyable stay. My only regret is we left a day early to go visit our daughter and her family since we were only 5 hours away as opposed to 16 hours. I really wanted to spend some time on the porch with my Kindle. I highly recommend the Heron’s Nest!

It is like stepping into another time. If you want quiet and privacy, this is your place. Why would you want to leave? Between the charm of the decor and the relaxation of the back yard and the inside porch, the place is like a miniature paradise. The jacuzzi off the living room truly gives it the ultimate get away. It was perfect.....just perfect. The bed was so beautifully made, you sort of did not want to disturb.......I could have easily stayed much, much longer.......In all my years of vacations , this spot comes out at number ONE !

We loved the peaceful, stress-free environment that Fred and Melinda have created in the Heron's Nest! Walking distance to back beach. The screened- in porch was my personal favorite just very relaxing. The place was fully shocked with everything you could possibly need and we even had Hersey kisses on our pillows. We will definitely be back next year If you want peace then rent the Herons Nest

We had a really nice time staying here. It was a lot closer to everything than we originally thought, which is awesome! We didn’t realize that owners provided bikes to use so that was a pleasant surprise as well. The outdoor seating area was really nice and cozy at night with the string lights. Some parts of the property are a bit older, such as the oven, but I think that added to its charm! It was a really nice sized rental for 2 overall and we really enjoyed it.

Heron's Nest exceeded our expectations for our anniversary trip. The area was quiet and relaxing and also within walking distance from restaurants, the pier and back river beach (which is now our favorite Tybee beach). The hot tub was a wonderful treat after a day at the beach. I never thought we would use the hot tub after a hot summer day at the beach, but it was perfect in the coolness of our little condo. We will definitely stay with Malinda and Frank again.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Herons Nest. We had all we needed and more to enjoy our time at Tybee. The bed was very comfortable and we used the bikes almost everyday to get around the island. Communication with the owner was also fantastic. Highly recommend staying here.

We enjoyed beautiful sunrises & sunsets, awesome restaurants & fun little shops. The hot tub & outdoor patio was definitely some of our favorite amenities!
