Beautiful, quite and worth the money we paid
The road to the property is terrible I don’t think I’ll go again because of the road

Firstly I would like to say a place is made by its people and we were treated like family by the stuff I would like to thank the gentleman who helped us find our cabin when we were lost they went out of there way to drive us to the correct place and make calls to the office when we got there we were met by the two lovely ladies I can’t remember there name’s unfortunately there’s really no words to describe how happy we were on this trip thanks to the stuff
I have only one complaint the network / wiffi doesn’t work there which is a problem in case of emergency’s

The house sits on top of a hill with amazing views, It’s just spectacular.
The ground workers and cleaning crew are absolutely amazing. Friendly, professional and very helpful.
The road leading to the venue needs a little bit of work. A mere 20 mins drive turned into an hour and the room with bunk beds could have been altered, especially after I had explained that we are travelling as couples. By simply adding a double bed at the bottom floor with the same bedding as in the main house, would have made a huge difference.

beautiful lodge nestled in nature's embrace, and while its rustic charm and breathtaking views were undeniable
However, my experience was marred by some significant disappointments. The lodge lacked basic amenities such as electricity and gas, leaving us in the cold and darkness. Despite these inconveniences, what was truly disheartening was the manager's lack of apology or acknowledgment of the situation.

Perfect location, beautiful views that is the reason we had to came back for the second time
Waterford Lodge-Fridge was not working, only replaced on Sunday when our food was already spoiled , Oven tripping and we did not have hot water for 2 days, throws are old and not warm

there were some items missing such as braai tongs, wine glass, egg lifter...

Having been to Star Dam previously, I am aware of how beautiful it is. Severely deteriorating since a year and a half ago.
Facilities are poor or not working. No attention given to alternate energy sources and no way to make contact for assistance. A very unpleasant stay due to 6 hours of no electricity and no provision made for even battery operated lights - all while the rest of the property is solar equipped except Stoneford Lodge.

The views are beautiful, the staff were helpful, the house was comfortable
The doors did not lock in the house, which left us paranoid especially at night and with small kids.
The oven, dishwasher was broken and needs maintenance.
The road to the lodge was horrible.
Nobody had informed us about a button to get hot water upon check in, which left us showering with cold water.

Location was amazing!! Cleaning staff was amazing. House was great. So much more potential for this location if the below is sorted out. I did however get engaged at this amazing location!!
Managers were non existent, we were snowed in and were meant to leave that morning - roads were dangerous (and we did not know the terrain). Managers did not even come and ask if we were okay and tell us what the roads were like and if it was safe to leave or not. (They just expected us to leave at 10am with our family at risk). Low visibility and thick snow.
An emergency number is given by the estate but is never answered or call never returned - very concerning.
Indemnity form is also very concerning - you are not made aware of this form before booking for this accommodation. Guests need to be made aware of this concerning form.
Dangerous size gas bottles inside the house which ties up with the above form.
Weber needed on the deck for poor weather - allowing holiday makers the chance to braai in any weather.
My recommendation is walkie talkie or emergency WiFi in each of the houses for EMERGENCIES Only!!

The actual drive to the property is horrendous.

I loved the place , and our kid's also loved it so much. The dam, fishing was an added bonus.
The road leading to the place was terrible. I wish the could have told us that it's a 4X4 trail drive.

remote. fairly luxurious
many items advertised but not working : dishwasher / geysers in 2 rooms ! / ice machine / boat motors.
pool advertised as heated. but only switched ON after arrival. took 30hrs to reach 25C! unacceptable indeed. as we expected a heated pool to enjoy. we asked management Gogo & Bert to attend to this. it was handled pathetically

I love the location, very refreshing. Staff were very friendly and attended to all our requests and questions.. Very helpful.
The outside deck was not clean, the chairs were filled with bird poop. I'm not sure if they were aware we were coming because there were alot of dead insects on the floor and on the curtains, wasn't really cleaned before our arrival as it seemed there was no bookings for a while. As much as the aim is to take a break away from home, atleast have updated games available, wasn't happy with what was provided.

Bedrooms, neatnesses and the rooms are spacious 🤩🤩🤩
The crockery is so old fashioned especially glasses and they’re short/not enough
