Fantastic setting, great people.
That we were leaving after one night!

Everything - Extremely warm welcoming, dreamy environment, good food. The perfect mix of nature and comfort !

The area is great for a few days layover. Dinner Bed and Breakfast. Food, good homely cooking. Staff helpful and friendly. Ross goes out of his way to make sure one has everything one needs. Pleasant stay.
One of two bathrooms was a bit dated. A bit of attention to the chalet in general is needed. Food was good but a bit overpriced.

Nice lodge at the farm, with many animals on the site and horse riding for the kids. View on the Drakensberg mountains, but too many lights at night for security obsession) so impossible to see the stars - too bad. The lodges are old-fashioned like time stopped decades ago. But it's charming, everything works (beware of the load shedding) and the beds were perfect (and much more recent matresses that the rest of the furniture). Kids friendly with many equipments, nice restaurant and wine cave, generous breakfast, I higly recommand the place if you plan to spent time in the region!!
We gave our laundry on day 1 before 10 in the morning and it was not ready the day after despite their advertising...Clothes were still kind of wet, they lost one sock of my baby boy, and some were not washed at all (the ones with unfortunate vomit on...they gave them back to us in the plastic bag...we went for the laundry for those ones notably). Not a big deal honestly but that's margin for improvement :)

Lovely farm stay with nice layout, features, staff and views!
The electricity and internet did not work more than half the time due to load shedding. Owners are preparing to install solar panels to help with that.

Excellent breakfast and dinner.
I have stayed here a number of times and staff are always friendly and helpful.

Breakfast and dinner excellent
Accommodation requires some upgrading

Huge lodge apartment with great views. Very comfy beds and perfect sanitary gear including jacuzzi. Great, hospitable staff. Drinks available from the honesty fridge.
The lighting is very harsh, bright LED neon-like lights in all fixtures makes it not very cosy when it is dark; more soft tempered light would add to the experience (PS: we have encountered that in many accommodations).

Everything was perfect to enjoy, a lot of activities and comfy like home. The place is great with awesome views
Animal sh*t is everywhere, it will be better if cleaned daily, the road going to the location is not asphalt

The animals were great for the little kids
Our fireplace upstairs in the room didn’t work which made it very cold at night

Such a wonderful place for a family: the farm grounds are beautiful and happy. There is a strong sense of welcome towards children which is uncommon. The location in the central berg is perfect, whether you want to explore, or just enjoy the mountain views. Fantastic breakfast too.
I have dust allergies and the bedding triggered those (just come prepared, this is not uncommon in my experience in KZN).

it’s on a working farm and the host Jason is fabulous. The accommodation was comfortable with an open fire and Jacuzzi Bath.

Meals were great. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Quiet and relaxing atmosfere.
Some lights dident work in the unit, roof leaked when it rained. Only 2 small towels were provided in the unit and very bad network coverage and wifi non existent.

Breakfast was fabulous, as were all the meals we had at Ardmore. The waitresses were lovely and we were always greeted warmly in the mornings. A special mention must be made of Jason, the manager and chef. He was so incredibly sweet to my elderly aunt and his bubbly, kind personality always made our day. We loved the peaceful farm atmosphere and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her horse riding lessons with Sue. I would definitely recommend Ardmore to anyone needing a break from city life!!! We are so glad we discovered it. We will be back 🤗
Nothing, it was perfect!

Kids loved all the animals.
Decor is outdated, needs refreshing lighter colours.

The food was excellent, and the room was spacious, clean and had its own inverter for load shedding. The staff were also very friendly.

My family absolutely loved this place. The location is great, with a direct view of the champagne castle range, and everything in the Champagne valley within a 5-10 minute drive. The farm itself is really well kept, and the animals and their pens are clean and healthy - you will not have to worry about your kids being around them. The staff are helpful, really friendly and accommodating - very family like approach.
We stayed in the 6 sleeper chalet, it was great for our family of 6 - clean, nice bedrooms, bathrooms and furniture. Also had an inverter/battery which kept the lights on during loadshedding. Nice balcony with a clear view of the mountain. Also a nice patio on ground floor for meals and chilling outdoors.
Outside of that lots of space for kids to play, visit the animals, snooker table, table tennis, darts, two great pianos - all free to play. Pool, trampoline, outdoor seating areas, deck with seating, honesty bar. Three lovely dogs too - our kids are still talking about Colby, Fudge and Butterfly. And finally - we stayed half board on an unbeatable special - the meals were fantastic and such a highlight on the trip. I've said a lot, but this place deserves it :)

The location and scenery was exceptional. We loved staying on the farm and the miniature horses are so cute and very friendly. We took our dog with and chose the dog friendly unit which had a fenced garden.
The noise of the inverter in the lounge area of the chalet. We also had a lot of rain during the weekend that we were there and the roof of the patio isn't a solid roof so were unable to sit outside while it was raining.

The location was great and close to Monks Cowl and other day trips and activities. The food was delicious, portions were great and all round a happy experience.

Very nice people, nice farm, great breakfast!
A curtain in the shower would be great. The floor was completely wet after showering.
4.5
Amazing location, lots of activities and the guest farm is so relaxing with amazing staff and owners. Loved not having to cook our own food. Kids had an amazing time, and we did not see them much as they were off doing activities such as swimming, playing table tennis, badminton and pool and of course riding the horses and herding the sheep in the morning.
Even though I did not expect ultra-high-end amenities, I found that the mattress in the main bedroom of our unit could have been better, but this would be my only complaint about my stay.
