About this villa rental

Southern Reach was custom built in 2008 on the South shore of Cayman Brac. This stunning shore front home is located just 100 feet from the ocean's edge with amazing views and a comfortable breeze all year long. Our recently added in ground pool is just off our porch, fronts the ocean and is very private. There is an outside shower off the side of the house.

The home offers privacy and all the modern conveniences of home. There are two private bedrooms which face the ocean and have a sliding door access to the porch. The left bedroom has a king sized bed, dresser, and nightstands. There is also a guest closet in this room. Its bathroom can be accessed from the bedroom or the main room and features a tiled shower stall.

The right bedroom has a king bed. This bedroom's bath is accessible only through the bedroom and does not have a door between the bedroom and the bathroom which has a bathtub with a shower door. This room features a dresser, and nightstand. The owner's closet is in this room and is kept locked. The porch is accessible through the sliding door from this bedroom as well.

The main living area is an open floor concept. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to prepare meals in house. There is a stove, fridge with icemaker in door, and dishwasher as well as the standard small appliances. The living area has two futon couches, a coffee table and tv on a stand. There are an assortment of DVDs and CDs as well as a lending library of books. There is a table that seats up to 5 off the kitchen area.

The living room has two sliding glass doors that access the breeze-cooled, open air porch. There are two cozy hammocks and an assortment of lounge chairs on the porch. Steps lead down to the pool which has a maxim depth of 5 feet. A bench was built into the shallow end to allow you to sit, relax and enjoy a cool beverage. The area on our porch and yard to the waters edge is totally private.

The house has three split unit air conditioners, washer and dryer, dishwasher, wireless broadband internet, 32 inch smart flat screen tv in living room, one 20 inch flat screen smart tv in left bedroom, Dish network, satellite tv, DVD, CD stereos with I Phone connect, and all the other amenities you would expect in a modern home.

An open air, private shower is located off the porch. The porch has both hammocks and lounge chairs for a nap, reading, or just taking in the refreshing ocean views and breeze. There is a coral stone shore line. Beachcombing begins right out your back door and is amazing. Beautiful sea birds will happily soar above you as you search for washed up treasure. Natural flora surrounds you, as you are located in the Cayman Country.

Explore the island with its many sites, spend a day diving or snorkeling, take a walk on the beach and find some treasures, wander the nature trails in search of native birds, unwind with a wonderful meal in one of the colorful local restaurants, explore the many caves, take in all the beauty around you, then come home to relax in your own private beach house. The Cayman Islands are rated in the top five world wide destinations for diving.

Please note our house is licensed by the Cayman Island Department of Tourism and has been inspected annually by The Cayman Islands Department of Health, The Cayman Fire Service and the Tourism Inspector. We were so happy this house had a great pool and several fun floaties! It was very warm the end of March so cooling off in the pools was wonderful. The pool itself was very warm so we spent tons of time there. The house had everything we needed. The beds were very comforatable. There were TONS of towels, the showers were hot and worked great. Coffee maker worked great as well as a fully stocked kitchen with lots of small appliances. The blender worked great for us! We really enjoyed the Brac and snorkeling from several different areas of the island. Our favorite restaurants were Baracuda, Captins Cove, Brac Beach Resort, and we tried the Farm Restaurant for Pizza night and enjoyed it as well. Overall great place to stay for a relaxing trip. Thank you!

Our stay was pure bliss. Paul and Magie are great Hosts. They communicate in a timely and concise manner. They respond to your needs while providing an exquisite home to live in to experience a great, relaxing vacation. The pool was the pinnacle to our wonderful stay in Cayman Brac.

This house does not disappoint! Located on the quiet South side, with breezes everyday and an unbelievable view. With minimal traffic, we were able to go for walks every morning to the end of the road. The house is set up with 2 bedrooms with very good quality mattresses, each with their own bathroom. The kitchen has every amenity we needed as we cooked most of our meals at home. The large covered porch was a life saver on the hot days as well as the few times it rained. The pool is kept very clean and the perfect way to cool off. The beach is quite rocky for those with mobility issues but we enjoyed walking along the shore looking for shells and investigating the small tide pools. The property manager Lynn was great. We missed our flight to Cayman Brac and she was there to meet us even though we were 5 hours late! She was able to get us to the store for a few groceries just before they closed and very responsive when we had questions.You will need a car as it's about a 15 minute drive into town. If you're looking for a quiet retreat in a comfortable house with amazing views, Southern Reach will check all the boxes. We can't wait to return!

My husband and I throughly enjoyed our stay at Southern Reach! We were not on island to dive but to disconnect and relax and that’s exactly what we did. The house is very private and quiet! Only sound is the ocean and some birds every now and then! House is as pictured and the owners and property managers were easy to communicate with! Rural island living at its best! One thing…if you are spoiled to Kcups and Nespresso pods…learn to make it the Mr. Coffee way before you get there! My first pot made my hair stand up!! LOL If you like massages and facials book a patio massage and facial with Kelly at The Spa Cayman Brac. The sound of the ocean on the patio and the massage were a perfect combination!

This home is very nice. The pictures do not do it justice. Very well maintained and very well outfitted for any adventure you may have on Cayman Brach! Right on the beach. More than beautifully amazing views day or night. Stargazing is the best I have ever seen! The pool is immaculate. Comfy, clean beds. Everything was exceptional and I highly recommend this home! The hosts were Premier for sure, and then some! Very good communication, no issues at all. You are going to LOVE IT. Plan a few extra days, you will thank me!

The pictures do not do it justice. The constantly rolling blue waves were exactly what we were looking for. The house was immaculate, perfectly placed and a gem. Lynn was also amazing, in that she took us to the house and to the market (with us following her in the rental car). It was an adjustment to drive on the left, but there's no traffic and it added to the experience. I would definitely recommend that you do rent a car so that you can explore the island a bit. For those of us that may have to do some work while there...the wifi was reliable and relatively quick. I will definitely be back and could even see bringing my parents and making a family trip out if it. They would love it. Thank you so much for the experience, as it was just what was needed!

This was our second stay at Southern Reach. The home is extremely clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The patio and pool are a great way to enjoy Brac’s southeast shore. Bring your water shoes as the oceanfront is ironshore. We will definitely be back.

Perfect for a weekend getaway. Each morning you are greeted by magnificent frigate birds diving into the surf to grab their breakfast, and the evening closes the day with brown footed boobies returning to their roost in the bluff. The stars that come out after sunset are a wonderful backdrop to the sounds of the waves ending their journey to shore. You can enjoy this and more while cooling your heels in a perfectly secluded private pool.

Our weekend was enjoyable with all conveniences available inside and outside the home. The owners have many Island straw work items throughout the home, you will definitely be in Island mode! Internet service is reliable for those needing to work or catch up with family back home. Views from the porch are breathtaking, great fishing from the shore. The view from the kitchen window looks out to the bluff, you might even see rock climbers. We enjoyed watching their rock climbing adventures one afternoon. Would certainly stay here again!

Really enjoyed our stay @ Southern Reach. Property was clean and as described. I do think you should mention in your listing that there is no safe access to the ocean. Only other thing is how far it is to island amenities. Gorgeous views

We spent 3 nights at Southern Reach. Paul was great about giving us information needed for our stay and also things to do on the island. It’s a beautiful spot, the ocean view is breathtaking. The waves were too big for us to go into the ocean from the house, I’m not sure if it’s the time of year or if it’s always wavy but they were beautiful to watch. The pool is great to cool off and there is ample shade if you don’t love the sun. You can find lots of treasures walking along the beach and you can walk a fair distance. We really enjoyed our time in Brac, it feels almost untouched. You can hop in the water just about anywhere with a mask and snorkle and see some of the most beautiful fish and coral. We will definitely be back!
