About this cabin rental
This is a small, yet stunningly beautiful authentic log home on a 40 acre estate on the shores of Douglas Lake, an ideal location for endless activities! It is the guest house for the estate, and there is a larger main house that is also available for short term rentals. Booked together, these homes make for a completely unique experience and allow room for large groups to be together on the same property. The VRBO reference number for the main house is #1518107 if you would like to check it out as well. Those are the only two homes on the estate. Each property has its own dock, and they are in separate coves of the lake. Check out the Google location function and description for more about the property.
The wonderful feature about this property is that, despite the perfect location, it feels like you are off in a peaceful world by yourself. The cabin is at the end of a peninsula with a half mile driveway away from the nearest road, and is surrounded by 28,000 acre lake.
Literally, there is no other piece of property on this lake to compare in terms of beauty, location, activities, ease of access to interstates, and many attractions - without sacrificing peace, quiet, tranquility, and privacy.
Douglas Lake is a premier destination recreational and fishing lake with over 28,000 acres and more than 500 miles of shore line that spans over 30 miles long across multiple counties. However, Douglas is still quiet, relaxing place to be and provides good fun for all ages!
This home is located less than a mile from Dandridge, a charming, historical town that is credited with being the 2nd oldest town in Tennessee. The Point Marina and Restaurant is roughly a quarter mile away and offers dinner with impeccable views. Just 3 miles away, Exit 417 off of I-40 also offers additional places to eat. We are located about 30-50 minutes to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge tourist attractions or the Great Smoky Mountains, where there is family fun for every type of adventure. Knoxville is 30 miles away and features great restaurants and shopping locations. Asheville, NC, is about 85 miles away if you are looking for a short day trip during your stay. Hot Springs, NC, is about 40 miles away and offers a resort and spa with real hot spring tubs. This home is at a premier location on Douglas Lake with easy access to everything in the region. That is, IF you ever want to leave the property!
On the property, there is a private dock for each of the two homes located in separate coves. A 26' Tri-toon pontoon boat with a 150 hp four-stroke motor is available for rent, and there are kayaks and paddleboats around for free.
We have horses, but they are more suitable for admiring and petting than riding. They are very gentle, but have not been ridden much the past couple years. They love the attention when they're not grazing on the grass around the property. There are also a couple of trails for hiking as well as a campsite on the property.
The cabin itself is 18x24 feet, but there are three floors. The top floor is a master bedroom suite with a queen bed and a private bathroom with a shower, but no tub. The middle floor has a kitchen and dining area on one end, a fireplace in the middle, and a living room on the other side of the fireplace. The living room features two comfortable sofa beds that can sleep 1-2 people each. The ground floor has a queen bed with a private bathroom and an old Victorian-style copper tub.
That arrangement allows for at least 4 people in the two bedrooms, as well as the aforementioned sofa beds in the living room. We've had people have a good time with 5-6 people.
On the exterior, there is a front porch with 2 rocking chairs and a gas grill to enjoy with the family. The back of the cabin features an upper and lower porch, each with adequate seating (chairs, tables, swings) for everyone visiting! A portable outside fireplace is available upon request.
There are many rental log cabins in this area, but this one is noticeable different from the rest due to the immaculate construction, beautiful property, and ideal location. Your visit here will be a very, very different experience from any other rental in this area.

This was one of our best holidays. My husband and I traveled with our two Vizslas and could not have been more comfortable and safe. It was so fun for us and our dogs. This is an animal lovers paradise from the boarded horses to the sweet cats and dogs the owners Randy and Allison have. We enjoyed the cabin, swimming in Douglas lake, exploring the local downtown with Tinsel Bible Pharmacy, Saturday farmer’s market and eating BBQ from Smokey restaurant only a few miles away. I can’t imagine a better holiday for families who enjoy being together and love animals.

This tiny cabin is perfect. Just enough private to enjoy the serenity of the lake and beautiful property, but close enough to get to ‘attractions’. Just enough room to not be on top of each other, but close enough to stay connected. Plenty of kitchen items to keep you cooking and coffee making. Towels, paper products, and bedding provided(+++) Bring your own soaps and shower items.. One of the, if not THE best rental we’ve had yet.

Loved our stay! There are 77 steps down to the dock and no main floor restroom so make sure you’re ready to go up and down steps. We loved the property and spent all of our time at the dock or back porch.
We also loved that we could walk the dogs up to the horses in the property

This place is special. Our second time to this property and won’t be the last. This place is unique. The grounds, the homes, the privacy, the host. It’s all special and unique. We had 15 people in the two homes and despite some challenging weather we still had a very special and memorable week. We rented the boat and so nice not to have to pick up or return a boat to a seperate location. Owner is very helpful and attentive. Having 40 acres and two coves with 2 docks and a beach area ( no sand bring water shoes) was an experience I have not found anywhere else. I love Douglas lake and Dandridge. And I don’t believe there is a better place to stay on this lake.
If you love the outdoors this place has the best outdoor space you will find for rent on Douglas lake. And the home is very well appointed and is very clean and comfortable.
A+ for the Host. You have created something very special here.

This lake house was the perfect retreat to get away and spend time with loved ones. Days were spent on the lake tubing and kayaking, and just swimming with the kids and dog. In the evenings, plenty of room to make a great home cooked meal and spread out for game night.
We use house rentals essentially exclusively for our family vacations. Of the years of doing this, we never had such thoughtful, considerate, and kind hosts as this trip. They were responsive, helpful and made a great impact on the much needed vacation.

We had a fantastic time on a short get away with friends. The lakefront cabin was quaint, cozy and comfortable. It had everything we needed and more. We spent time on the water in the kayaks and did some fishing. But mostly, we just relaxed in this peaceful retreat. We will be going back to share this wonderful gem with our extended family!

We completely enjoyed our stay. We relaxed on the deck for hours, kayaked at sunset, and made s’more’s in the evening. The cabin was clean and cozy.

Randy was extremely accommodating, very responsive and a pleasure to work with. We will stay again for another fishing tournament I’m sure. Property listing is 100% accurate.

We loved our stay in this cozy cabin on a beautiful property. The hosts are very easy to communicate with. Our favorite things were the view of the sunset from the back deck and the added bonus of kayaks to use. We would love to come back and stay longer.

This log cabin on Douglas Lake was perfect for a long weekend getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed the authenticity of the log cabin, the lake views, the daily visits from the adorable dogs, and the convenience of the places we wanted to visit. Had it been warmer we definitely would have taken advantage of the kayaks. Our communication with Randy was excellent. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Overall peaceful and great stay. Dogs were awesome and 'Shine' took a huge rock out of the water and carried it up the stairs. Hell I almost didn't make it up! Very steep but leads to the water and free kayaking. Hosts were willing to answer all questions and pleasant. Check in was seamless. Girls loved it. If you want to unwind with a fishing pole while your family seeks adventure elsewhere I recommend this place.

I rented this property based on how picturesque the cabin and setting was on VRBO. My family has been going to Pigeon Forge for ages but it's been several years and my daughters, 21 & 18, are older and less interested in all the tacky tourist stuff. We also wanted to take our dog. Randy's property looked perfect, even if it was 45 minutes from Dollywood. The cabin sits on private property on Douglas Lake. It has its own dock with a couple of kayaks and would be great during the summer. The back porch on the cabin overlooking the lake was the favorite hangout spot for us. Randy, our host, stopped by and I enjoyed visiting with him several times during our stay. We felt more than welcome and he is a very interesting fellow to talk with.
There are three floors to this cabin and the stairs are steep so keep that in mind. It is minutes from the town of Dandridge so you can step out to eat, get supplies, etc., though it is a very tiny town. We hope to return during the summer...I can already see myself sipping a cold one on the porch while watching the sun go down on the lake.

This is a well managed comfortable and well designed Appalachian/Cades Cove inspired log cabin. The deck view of the lake through the trees is beautiful and serene. The owner is on site and welcoming. While the cabin sits in a wooded 40 acre site it is only minutes into Dandridge. The labs Lilly and Chloe are welcoming and friendly. Pups Shine and Kira also check on guests but never intrusive. This is a return again cabin. It well earns its 5 stars. For those who need to know there are stairs to the cozy loft bedroom and the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped.

The cabin was spotless and well appointed. The view and surroundings were beautiful and the sunsets were spectacular. Chloe and Lily (golden labs) were so sweet and loving and great companions during our stay.
We will come back during our next trip to TN.

Every year my girls and I find a place in the Dandridge area to rent for our annual Girls Trip… and this will likely become our go-to place every year! The small cabin was absolutely perfect for the three of us - had everything we needed and the private dock was icing on the cake. The girls loved jumping in and kayaking every evening. Our favorite thing had to be the porch visits from the dogs - Lilly, Chloe, Kira and Shine and one of the cats, Alfie. Randy was incredibly helpful during our check in. During our stay, a severe storm came through with 80 mph winds and knocked power out to the property and the entire Dandridge area. Several trees were down around the cabin and on the driveway. Randy and his team were out there promptly removing the trees. He also came by with flash lights and lanterns and got a generator up and running to ensure we had water. In any other rental this would have been a nightmare situation, but Randy was on top of it. While we were without power for 12ish hours, it was hardly noticeable - we still had plenty of board games to play that came with the property and spent time on the lake. It was a perfect getaway and we can’t wait to come back next year.

Love...love ...love. perfect host, perfect location, perfect house. Totally tranquil!

The small cabin was clean & had all the necessary items, dishes, linens, etc. The upper level back porch is partially obscured with trees but provided shade & still a nice view of the lake. The stairs in the cabin are a concern for small children, steep incline. No issues with the property, but the owner quickly responded to any questions/help that we needed. We would definitely consider a future visit.

The owners are so hospitable and welcoming, everything is laid out in great detail in the rental information. The cabin is a beautiful wood and stone structure with stairs down to the dock on the lake. Location and scenery are awesome and one unexpected bonus was the visits by the family dogs! They are so friendly and playful and were such a nice part of the whole stay. I’ll be returning here a lot; nothing bad or even meh about this rental.

Everything was exactly what was described. They own the sweetest most amazing dogs on the property! I was scared because my goldendoodle is a young male, but they are the kindest dogs to other people and animals. My next dog would be Shine or Kera the Scottie! House is clean and ease of access and checkout was great. Beds comfortable and everything clean. Had a great time on the lake jet skiing and the kyak access from the dock was a special event for my kids. Great family trip.

Location was perfect. Just outside of the hassle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but close enough when we wanted to play! We even saw a bear on Dickey road on our way into town one day! Cabin was very cute, clean and right on the water as described. The owners dogs will keep you entertained! If you can't handle stairs then i don't recommend staying here as this is very detailed in the description! I highly recommend this cabin to any lake lover!

When we arrived we were greeted by 3 very friendly dogs. The owner Randy arrived soon to introduce himself and stayed to make sure our dogs would get along. We appreciated that as ours is not used to other dogs. The cabin is gorgeous inside and out! It’s very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The setting is quite private even though there’s a house within sight. I loved that the main floor balcony was confined so our pup could be off leash. The view was amazing! You can easily see the lake but have the privacy of trees between you and the lake. It was very nice having the dock to access the lake, and to have use of the kayaks. We would love to come back to this cabin for another vacation.

The Lake Cabin was perfect for our long weekend stay. Very clean and Randy and Joseph were so accommodating. I was a little worried about being bothered by bugs since we were in the woods but it was never a problem. We enjoyed the extra attention we got from their dogs as well, they were so well behaved and didn’t seem to be bothered by our two pugs or vice versa.

A lovely stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the firefly lights in trees at night and taking a nap on the covered porch during a spring rain. It was a welcome respite. The folks in the town of Dandridge were super friendly!!

Could not have been a better home for us to celebrate our son’s graduation from Carson Newman! The main house has a well stocked kitchen that more than accommodated cooking for family and friends throughout the 4day week end celebration. You can walk down to the lake or just view it from the spacious back porch. Explore the property and enjoy the horses and dogs that make you feel as if you are at home! The host made sure to make us feel at home in his home and was always available if we had any questions. Close to Gatlinburg, but such a quiet and beautiful setting that it is hard to leave the property. Only praises for the best VRBO we have found in this area. We will look forward to returning!

An amazing vacation. The photos are accurate, cozy, clean and comfortable. Our Host was so accommodating and welcoming. Thank you Randy for a wonderful experience. Your pups are excellent greeters and very friendly. They were so gentle with our little chihuahuas. Renting the Tritoon was a must. The lake was just amazing. Coming from MS where the lakes are shallow and muddy we enjoyed the clean emerald green water. We had so much fun and even caught a few fish that added to our last night's dinner. Our only issue is we wish we stayed longer. Soooo relaxing. We will definately recommend your cabin and be back again, but for a longer stay.

I was doubtful that a property could REALLY be ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ , but it’s exactly as described and reviewed. Randy was a Great host and despite the cabin being in close proximity to their main house, we had all the privacy we wanted … except for the 4 legged welcoming crew 😉
Will be back!

We absolutely loved our weekend away on the lake! The cabin is exactly as advertised and the private lake/dock access was perfect! The dogs were icing on the cake, we played fetch with sticks and rocks all afternoon! Would definitely recommend!

Notes from my daughter-in-law.
This truly is a luxury cabin. Very new, but built impeccably. The details are perfect; if you are interested in log cabin architecture you will spend hours just looking at the house. The cabin isn't large, but is perfect for one or two couples or a small family with older kids. Both bedroom suites are beautiful, with a nice living room/communal area on the middle floor. The kitchen is well-stocked, and there is a working grill on the front porch. FYI that the stairs inside the house are pretty steep. There is an outdoor stairway down to the lower level bedroom that is more moderate if you have some mobility or balance issues but still can do stairs.
Randy, the owner, came out to introduce himself and show us around the house. I can't speak highly enough of him; he's a true gentleman. My husband and I got very sick with food poisoning while we were staying there (beware the shrimp at Food City!) and were completely laid up. Randy came over to check on us and even went out to get us crackers and drinks to rehydrate. We were completely blown away by his kindness and generosity.
I can't recommend this house or Randy as the host highly enough. Truly a 20/10 experience. We can't wait to come back and really enjoy the beautiful dock and surrounding property.

We stayed for a week and a half and the descriptions and photos advertised were right on target. This was a great vacation and getaway with plenty of sightseeing and things to do with in a close proximity. I would highly recommend and hope to stay again.
