About this house rental
Eagle's Lookout is located in Wintergreen's Treeloft Village, just 100 steps from the ski slopes. Our house delivers stunning year-round Southwest views from almost every room. Adjacent to protected greenspace and actually perched above a scenic overlook, you'll enjoy the incredible sunset in a quiet, peaceful setting and be the first to take advantage of new snow by rolling out of bed and onto the slopes!
All the comforts of home during your mountain getaway... Inside, vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows open the space. The updated kitchen and baths all boast granite counters and new fixtures. The dining area seats 6-7 people comfortably, and the living room features leather seating and a wood burning fireplace for cozy evenings. The master bedroom has a king bed and private bath, and the 2nd downstairs guest room has a queen bed and bunked single beds. A spiral staircase leads to the upstairs loft bedroom with two sets of bunks and its own tv area. Great for the kids! All rooms have flatscreen cable TVs and WiFi internet is included.
Guests really appreciate our enlarged back deck, with a new gas grill and gorgeous year-round view! And a heated mudroom addition provides a washer/dryer & plenty of room to suit up for the slopes and store all your gear out of the way. This is a feature very rare in Wintergreen slope side houses!

In October, our deck is the spot for soaking in the Fall colors! And cooler temps make autumn the perfect time for golf at Stoney Creek and to enjoy the many outdoor activities in the valley. Planning ahead? We have the perfect winter location! Our home is across the street from the Eagle's Swoop run at the top of the Big Acorn Lift. This ski area is rated intermediate. Eagle's Swoop is one of the first runs to open each season and operates for both day & night sessions. It is only about a 2-minute walk to the slope… Easy to stop home for cocoa or ski to the Mountain Inn for dinner, yet far enough so you won't be bothered by the snowblowers and night skiers in the evenings.
(Note: No central AC in these original Treeloft houses, but cool summer nights, the 3500 ft elevation and mountain breezes usually do the job well, as our many repeat summer guests will attest. And we do provide single AC units in each of the downstairs bedrooms and many extra fans just in case of the rare extreme heat!)

Our family of four had a wonderful time staying at this property. Our 14 year old twins loved having their own private space/TV den in the loft. The views were beautiful, condo well appointed and location very convenient for skiing, restaurants and the market. I only wish we had better weather to be able to enjoy the ski on/ski off access for more than the half day of skiing we were able to get. If looking for a rainy day activity while in Wintergreen, we recommend Three Notch’d Brewery not far from the base of the mountain. Axe throwing was a fun activity for the entire family. Would definitely recommend this property for your Wintergreen stay!

This chalet was well appointed and has great proximity to everything. Steps away from the Inn, Market, trails, slopes, and the fireworks! Not to mention the beautiful Mountain View’s it offers. Highly recommend!

Loved staying in this property with amazing views of the sunset and mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed the easy access to Skyline Drive, local breweries and - most importantly - the hiking. The kitchen is small but has everything you need to cook in and we appreciated the welcome gift our hosts left for us. We loved the wood-burning fireplace as well as the firepit on the deck. Definitely recommend this property and would return in the future.

Very comfortable and well appointed home. Lots of great things to do in the area. Hikes, The Parkway, Skyline Drive, wineries and breweries, The Blue Ridge tunnel (very cool) we stayed busy but my favorite spot was sitting on the deck looking at the mountains. The view from the living room was amazing too. We hope to return. Highly recommend.

We loved this house in Wintergreen! The cabin was perfect with all the amenities. It was clean and comfortable. The views were spectacular as it is right across from a look out! Perfect location in Wintergreen. Walking distance to the local market and The Edge restaurant. Very close to wineries and breweries. Hiking trails are right there across the road and along the road. Ski slopes are steps away. The owners also had a book full of brochures and information that was really useful for visiting the area. The owner was very communicative and offered suggestions on where to go, what to see. Thanks for a great vacation!!

We had a great time at this cabin. Location was amazing. It’s not right on the slope but it is a very short walk to the top of the slope .. we were able to go back to cabin at any point. Also the view of the mountains was so beautiful!!
The cabin itself was well equipped and the mud room was perfect! Beds were comfy except for the master bed, It was very firm.. but that is personal preference..
Would definitely stay here again!!

Wintergreen is one of my favorite resorts. After my son took a job on 12/22 in Colorado I had to change up my plans from a family getaway to a girls weekend. 3 out of 5 of us girls ski and I was so excited for the others to watch us come down the mountain off the back deck and enjoy our down time watching the skiers and snow. When we arrived at the house it was NOT on the actual slope, we could not see the snow or watch anything but cars drive by as it was not what I thought a true ski in/ski out house was. I have rented before at Wintergreen and I was very disappointed I had not asked," Kathryn is this a snow, mountain view, watch skiers off our deck home? The home is nice, Kathryn left me a sweet gift on the counter upon arrival, lots of firewood and I kept the fire going ALL day Saturday and at night time. It was a great home but not what I expected. If you are looking for a great place to stay with a short walk to the slopes this home is perfect for a family. We had a great weekend and it was my fault I did not ask the right questions.

We love this home! We had 4 adults and 2 kids and it was just perfect! The ski area is just across the street. The home has a large entrance way for skis, boots and coats, a cozy wood burning fire place and the cutest loft with 2 sets of bunks. The owners are very response. We will definitely be back!

We loved this cabin! The view and location were absolutely perfect. We were able to ski and hike without leaving Wintergreen's property. We love to cook and the kitchen was extremely well-equipped with everything we needed. In addition, the owner left us a sweet goodie-bag, including champagne to celebrate the new year. Would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location and home. Would stay here again and again. We spent a day skiing, a day in Charlottesville, and then a day hiking and just enjoying the house when ski slopes were mostly closed due to a week of warm weather. Views are amazing, very short walk with skis to blue level slope and easy to leave slope with lift and gentle short slope to exit point. Bedrooms face west side of house, so easy to sleep in. Dining window faces East, so you can enjoy sunrise and back of house (a wall of windows plus a deck) is south facing, so all day sun and beautiful sunset views of mountains from kitchen, dining, main living room, and primary bedroom. Comfortable couches in main living area, wood burning fireplace and outdoor fire pit that we didn’t use. Carpet in bedrooms and stairs/loft could use update. Loft is ideal for kids/teens and we all watched a movie together there, by request of our son. Good selection of board games. We had a lovely stay! Thank you for sharing your home!!

Wonderful, relaxing stay at this charming cabin with breathtakingly beautiful views. We loved the deck and the family room. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals, which was good since not many restaurants are open in the off- season. The market is super close and has most everything you need. Good idea to pick up provisions on the way up, though. Our kids would’ve loved the loft area with bunks if they had been with us. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed in this property for 4 days in August and had a wonderful time. The views from the deck are breathtaking and there is easy access to lots of hiking trails nearby. The house was clean and fully equipped and the owners were very accomodating, even allowing us to bring our two Labradors with us. Great escape in the Blue Ridge!

Peaceful Retreat
This is our third time staying at Kathryn and Aaron’s Treetloft cabin. We love that it is in the Blackrock area of the mountain, so much quieter, but also just a quick hike or ride down the hill to the store, Mountain Inn and Starbucks😊 The porch is my favorite spot for morning coffee and afternoon wine. The
views are incredible! Kathryn has thought of everything to make your stay in Wintergreen a memorable event. Loved the addition of the fire pit this year. We shall return again❤️

Our family stayed at the cabin for a long 4-day ski weekend in January. We were first impressed by the location - just a few steps away from to top of Eagle's Nest lift. The view from the back of the cabin was even better, however. Cozy and welcoming, the entire space was neat and clean and very well stocked and organized. The layout gives ample privacy for all rooms and plenty of space for gathering in the main living areas. While we cooked all meals in, you are within walking distance of the Market and main attractions of Wintergreen. It could not have been a better choice for our needs and we will most certainly be back again!
