We celebrated a 70th birthday with family. The house is a great set up for adults, teens and children. Fair warning-between the altitude and stairs-choose your bedroom wisely.

We had a group stay at this property - plenty of space for our families to hang out and stay. Loved having all ensuite options for everyone to spread out and hang out together! Some appliances seemed to be a little more run down (but work perfectly fine). Host was very communicative and accommodating. Would recommend a stay here again!

We checked in and house was roomy enough for all 10 of us. First day, cleaners showed up and took snow plow. Did not return it, till a few days before we left, we were digging one of our cars out of the snow at 4:30 in the morning because the driveway was so thick. Then another day, they showed up again, claiming to be there for trash but took none. The problem with them coming, is with no warning they would be in the house. I come out of the bathroom and she is standing outside my bedroom door. No knock, no doorbell, just in there. When she heard me, she acted like she was entering a code in a storage closet door, but never opened it. Then she claimed they came for our trash, but took nothing. It was very weird and creepy. We had 2 small children, and you can just enter into the house whenever you want? How many times did you come when we were not there. Do not rent here unless they change out the cleaning crew, if that is who they really were.

The house was incredibly spacious, and our group of friends had plenty of room. Going up and down the many flights of stairs did make the group feel less cohesive, but it was also good to have more space to escape to.
Although it was large and had many appliances (two dishwashers was especially incredible), the kitchen did lack some (optional) cooking supplies. Only a few pans, one cookie tray, and no stand mixer. Definitely not deal breakers! But if you're planning on cooking a feast, you may want to make sure you bring your own tools (and some sharp knives).
The owner was very responsive to any problems or questions we had. He was able to walk us through troubleshooting the steam room, fireplace, and an issue with the smoke detectors. While it would have been nicer to have everything work from the start, it was more important that the owner was available to support and fix things on short notice.
If you're coming during the winter, note that the driveway to the house is pretty steep, and could cause unprepared cars some trouble if it's icy. We did a lot of shoveling to make sure we would be able to leave on time.
The highlight was unquestionably the view. Absolutely breathtaking.
Overall, a lovely house well suited to a large group. Could use a little tlc to really elevate it to a luxury experience, but nothing that was a problem. A great location for a large group of adults willing to go up and down stairs!

Our stay at this location was nothing short of amazing. The bedrooms were all perfect size along with all the amenities and massive kitchen. We had a group of 15 people stay and the house was perfect size with tons of things to do. We used the hottub and cold plunges daily. Will definitely be coming back! The owner was very responsive as well

We had the pleasure of staying here for a week over thanksgiving. Our family is large and had varying ages.
The house is massive, and the views are to die for.
A nice touch they have are the plush robes in every room, and the beds are super comfortable.
I loved that the kitchen had 2 dishwashers and three sinks, that made thanksgiving prep, for a family of people that love to cook and appreciate good food, a breeze. For such a big house (for large groups) it would be nice if there were more serving bowls and dry-measuring cups.
But, I have to agree with a couple of the other reviewers that indicated that the house is a bit tired and in need of owner's TLC. We enjoyed the hot-tub and dry sauna, but were not able to use the steam-room and the beverage center at the Polo Bar.
Owners did take a note from another reviewer and added a couple of lanterns to the stairs, but it is still very dark and we had to help our parents go up and down.
Vladimir, the owner, is very communicative and helped me navigate the house technicalities.
Even with these couple of glitches, the family had a great time, and they all wanted to come back again.

For context, I take an annual trip with friends from high school along with our significant others. We usually look for a property that can fit our group size (15), and this place did just just. This property is breathtaking and amazing! The photos don't do it justice. The property is MASSIVE. Everything was clean. Best part was that their gas stoves were professional grade, so cooking was a breeze. I would definitely come back.

Our family had a very nice stay at this property. Very roomy with private baths in every bedroom. We enjoyed the view from the dining area over the spacious dining table.

We were a large family with mix of baby/toddler/kids/adults for a long weekend. The home was massive, beautiful, and well stocked with dishes and appliances. Kids loved playing in the hot tub and some of the adults enjoyed the spa. It’s walking distance to some lovely trails. We had a minor (but briefly scary) hiccup in the booking through VRBO system where I had booked/paid for the place but the host didn’t see that I had paid/booked. I was very scared at first as I had been charged already but then Vladimir called me once it was realized and we quickly got it sorted without issue, so I appreciated his initiative to just call me and talk it through! I suggest connecting with him as the date approaches just to confirm everything is good with the booking since it seems like there can be some confusion with VRBO and the system the host uses. Vladimir provided clear rules for us to follow and check in/out was smooth. There are bears all over this area so make sure you follow the trash guidance! No major issues during our stay and it was overall very lovely. A few minor things occurred like maybe an appliance stopped working, but they had multiples of almost everything so overall it was totally ok! Unless they update something, I suggest bringing a couple portable lanterns or battery powered tap lights for the stairs/hallways as we felt those areas were a bit dark for the kids and grandparents. Don’t forget anything as cleaning staff might not find it. Wonderful stay though!

Beautiful home with stunning views. Plenty of room for a group of 20.

We enjoyed very much, everything there.

The house is in an amazing location and the views are even better in person. The house is massive, spa area is very nice, and really liked the bar area. House itself is a little bit worn in some areas, but everything else makes up for it by far. Would recommend!
4.8
Our group was able to spread out. Many houses say they sleep 20 but that includes a lot of couches and futons. This is a house that really sleeps 20. Vladimir was great! He helped us out in a pinch and the house was beautiful and spacious and comfortable. Thank you Vladimir for great communications and quick service. We will be back next year!

We were a group of work friends on a ski trip, and our 3rd time staying at Vladimir’s place. The house was perfect for us to hang out, everyone had ample space and own beds, the spa area was amazing, and great long dining table for team building. Would book again!

Very perfect home for a large gathering. Plenty of space to spread out. We had 19 people kids and dog and them home was still spacious. Cold plunge ad dry suana can’t be beat. This is my third time staying and won’t be the last!

Had a wonderful time at this luxurious property in Truckee. Vlad the host was very responsive and answered all of our questions to make sure we were ready for our stay during labor day weekend. The house has fantastic amenities that your group should be ready to take advantage of including the movie room, pool table, chefs kitchen, hot tub, spa area and more. Would highly recommend 10/10!

It was comfortable space for a big group. The views are amazing. The hot tub is amazing and there's a new hot tub in the garage that looks like its coming? The dining area table is very large and nice for a big group. The kitchen has commercial capability and is large! Lots of storage and dishware. The house is impressive, but filled with thrift store art and cookware. The bedding isn't high end, but comfortable, newer.. The pool table is cool and the amenities are good. The bar is a really nice space. Cool having a sauna and hot tub. I rented this home for a family group of 18. I reconfirmed directly with the owner several times. I requested the code the week before. When I got off the plane in Reno on check in day, the owner calls to tell me that we don't have a reservation and acts like he doesn't know who I am, and that the house is rented to another group? Nightmare. Potentially facing 18 family members who would be very upset with no house on a holiday weekend. After 30 agonizing minutes he concocts some story about some computer platform and lets me know that we do have a reservation despite some sort of double booking computer glitch? It ruined the entire first day of a 4 day trip for me. We're told that the cleaning people won't be done until 6PM, as they weren't expecting guests that day? There were inconsistent stories about why the internet didn't work. A fib about the spa water being changed between guests? (It doesn't even need to be changed each time) Tub was hot when we arrived? The camera's outside are creepy when the property manager announces he can see, and describes, your rental car? As another reviewer said, it makes you feel like they are monitoring inside and outside, even though they say they aren't? I was willing to let everything go until I felt like I was being led astray by the owner? I hate leaving negative feedback. The furniture in the pictures isn't accurate. Half of the pictured living room furniture is in the bar. What the house gets right is: that it is huge. You can't control the heat and the house is HOT- but you can open a patio door. If you're secure in your reservation and you've got a big group, I still recommend this house, as long as you're willing to go with the flow..... The amenities for the price per person was excellent overall. In general: don't rent a big ski house in the mountains, if you don't like stairs. Common sense, right?

Beautiful home, however there is no generator at this property and we lost power for a total of 24 hours on and off. No cable TV working in any of the rooms. The hot water in the kitchen depleted a couple of days but was hot again in the morning. The location of this home during a winter storm is not plowed as a priority and is 6.6 miles up the road from a daily plowed road. My family emailed, called, and submitted a request to the townoftruckee.com to get this street plowed. We went 3 days without the road plowed and were not able to leave. We shoveled and plowed the driveway ourselves so we were prepared to leave the property once the city plow came through. We were in contact with the property manager who answered his phone calls and said he was trying to help the situation. The home did have many portable lanterns (battery operated) gas stove and oven, a good amount of amenities, toilet paper, soap, laundry detergent, bath soaps and lotions, towels, dishes, glasses. I would highly recommend if you go to this property to have enough food to sustain an extended period if there is a snow storm. There were 2 fireplaces but the main one is electrical, the second was gas. The hot tub and sauna room were very nice. Bottom line is to be prepared to be stranded in the home in a major snow storm.

Incredible family gathering spot
Our group of 16 spent a Thanksgiving week at this beautiful home. Absolutely gorgeous location, with an expansive view and 3 floors of decks to enjoy it from. We enjoyed the Alpenglow at golden hour each day from the hot tub. That is living! Spacious home with mind blowing amenities. The spa was next level. The bedrooms were spacious, comfy, well appointed and plentiful. This is a gorgeous home yet it does not feel fussy. It’s a proper mountain getaway.
We made memories that will last a lifetime and we hope to return!

The house was large enough to accommodate our family reunion in July. It was also miserably hot with no way to cool down. Every feature of the house seems to add heat to the house: heated floors turned on spontaneously, a drier that won’t stop when the time is up, a sauna, a steam room, a coffee maker that turns on spontaneously, and a gas stove that has a pilot light that must stay on all the time and adds even more heat to the house. Most of the windows are screwed shut and have signs saying you can’t open them. We couldn’t hardly be in the house at all because it was SO hot. We had a hard time sleeping in that heat. The indoor temperature was around 85. We did enjoy the decks in the evenings. The views are amazing. We liked the amount of bathrooms. We liked the large dining table. There was plenty of dinnerware but hardly any cookware. We had to buy a pancake griddle at ACE in Truckee. We also had to buy dish soap, dish scrubbers and hand soap for the kitchen as none were provided. The “freezer” was no colder than the fridge which made it difficult for us as we were trying to cook at home. One day out of six the “freezer” randomly froze some of the items in it but not all. Some of the bed sheets were extremely worn. They did provide plenty of towels which was nice. Be warned that bears will open your car and get inside and eat everything inside as this happened to our car. There is a sign in the driveway warning about parking but I think a warning sign about bears is even more important to post. The property manager did respond promptly to my questions. He was unable to help
with most of our concerns however. We were overall pretty disappointed in the house because we paid so much for it and were so uncomfortable and had to buy some basics that they didn’t provide. The best thing about the house is the deck and the view. Note that there is no yard or outdoor play space at all. The neighbors are close and they are also out on their deck. I imagine the house is better suited for winter vacations.

This house is beautiful and so fun! We were a group of 13 adults and we had plenty (underlined and bolded) of room. Everyone had their own room and their own bathroom and the rooms were labeled! I have never seen anything like that at a VRBO property, nice touch. Three floors of rooms, bathrooms, and things to do - this place is huge!! It came with beautiful views and everyone really enjoyed sitting out on the deck(s) taking it all in. The kitchen was fully stocked and the only thing we ended up buying were paperplates, other than that, it had everything we needed.
This house is a fantastic choice and the group would like to do it again in a few years. We'll be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Our visit happened to be during wildfire season, and there was a great deal of smoke in the air. Fortunately, this house provided us with the space and amenities to thoroughly enjoy our visit despite limited outside activities.
There is a trailhead quite close, which we were able to take advantage of one clear day. Donner Lake and the lovely town of Truckee are also just a short drive away, as are grocery stores and coffee shops.
- we definitely appreciated the many dishwashers (there are at least 4, 2 in the main kitchen itself;
- the warm and cozy bathrobes in each bedroom are a wonderful touch;
- the steamroom/sauna/jacuzzi/cold plunge pool are awesome;
- we also appreciated the well-stocked kitchen - we only brought food and didn't need to worry about dishes, garbage bags, cooking utensils, bowls, etc.
- some of our group had to work, and the efficient and strong wi-fi connection allowed them to accomplish this with no problem (the media room is a great place to concentrate)
- we saw lots of deer and coyotes;
- do bring a flashlight if you need to take your dog for a walk after dark as there are no streetlights (the stars in the night sky were lovely on the nights the smoke cleared)
- we found it easier to use the outside stairs in the deck areas than the interior stairs (the stairs provide lots of exercise so you can enjoy your meals guilt-free)
Vladimir was available to answer questions before our visit, and has provided an excellent place for a large group of people to enjoy.
