Mattresses could be updated

The fire pit was a popular place to hang out every night. Great ole home to hang out with friends and/or family. We all felt there should be mattress upgrades on many of the beds and the carpet on the steep top floor stairs needs to be replaced - a few exposed staples caused some minor skin injuries during our stay.

My family and I have stayed at The Colonial several times and each time has really been amazing. The house is clean, roomy and comfortable and its in the best location, on the strip and literally within walking distance to everything! We especially love the large kitchen, dining room and front porch. Its so nice to have the space for all of us to eat together and we also enjoy sitting around the fire pit at night.
Huge pluses are the beautifully updated kitchen and bathrooms and the communication with the property manager. We are already looking forward to next year at The Colonial!!!

The house was practically right in the fun of it all. The bar being so close was also a bonus. The house itself was very roomy and beautiful. The place was clean and taken care of. The host and housekeepers were very friendly and made our stay feel very welcomed. I would for sure stay again.

Right dead center on the strip. Great house. Captain Gus right out front is awesome. Sure wish the beaches were still there across the street.

House was beautiful

The house is large enough for 20 of us family members to gather throughout the week. The weather was great and the front yard was used a lot for games and fun in the sun.The fire pit was used every night and the chairs are very sturdy. We have rented the Colonial house for many years now and always look forward to the new house updates that happen every couple years.
One complaint is that we wish there were more signs showing "Colonial House Parking" along the fence! We had many instances that some random car would park at the house and take up one of our parking spots, it was very irritating especially Friday thru Sunday.
All in all, it was a very nice place to use for the week and we will continue to rent from Matt and PJ as long as we are able.

If you google "places to stay" in Geneva, The Colonial tops the list in my book. We've been staying at The Colonial for five years now and it keeps getting more appreciated. My friend's daughter came up for the first time this June. Within an hour, she told her mother she wanted to come back next year. From what I could tell, she had as much fun laying on her lounge chair in the spacious front yard while reading her book and tanning. We spent a lot of time sitting on the front porch in the evening listening to the live music at Sportsterz right next store. One of our favorite evening activities was sitting around the firepit relaxing. We're already talking about our stay at The Colonial in 2025. I'm spoiled, I guess, but I don't think I can stay anywhere other than The Colonial when I go to Geneva. Check it out. I think you'll agree. Special thanks to Matt and PJ for being such accommodating hosts.

House was as big as stated! Made it very easy for our large group. Walking distance to the local businesses. Wine was amazing at most of the wineries we visited.

We had a amazing time at this property! It was a beautiful house and a excellent location! It is just steps away from everything on the strip! There was plenty of space, toiletries, towels and bedding. We would like to come back in the summer! My only recommendation is maybe including a map of parking, the listing says 10 parking spaces but the paved area only has space for about 6 cars we were not aware it was ok to park on the grass so some of our cars were parked incorrectly and we had to move them, the property management was beyond nice and allowed us to move when we came back to the house but it would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could have avoided it. We had a excellent time and can't wait to come back!

This is our second time staying at this property. Great accommodation for 14 adults. Very easy to walk the strip. We will be renting this house again!

Our family had a wonderful visit at "The Colonial," which was large and comfy enough to accommodate our party of 8 adults and 6 children. Thoughtfully decorated with delightful seasonal touches, we were also able to easily entertain 10 additional family members (who were staying elsewhere) for our family dinners. It's rare to be able to find quarters large enough for such a large group. Photos are accurate, communication with Matt was first-rate (we were generously allowed an early check-in on a travel day with very wicked weather), and the entire experience was all anyone could have hoped for. Four other members of our party stayed in the smaller adjacent cottage, and this convenience was much appreciated, as well. (It should also be noted that there are accessibility ramps at the larger house, too, which was much appreciated by several in our party.) Plus - and this was extremely popular with our gang - fire pits! All-in-all, a great choice if you're bringing a "whole host of folks" to gather together.

We arrived at the property and it was infested inside and out with midges. I called the owner. He agreed to refund my money. We could not stay at the property. The bedrooms were full of these midges. The owner was completely understanding and had no problem with our refund. I am now trying to get VRBO to refund their service fee. I had to find other arrangements for 15 people. I have booked with VRBO several times in the past with great experiences. Hopefully they meet my expectations and refund the service fee for a property that could not be used. Again, I understand that these midges were nothing that the owner could control and I appreciate that he did the right thing for us.

This was our 25th year sending Labor Day weekend at GOTL and this house is perfect. It's large enough to accommodate the whole family and the location is perfect. We love the big yard, the fire pit and it's right next to the Gyro place which makes everyone happy. Matt is easy to communicate with and responds quickly. We will be back next year, we are already looking forward to it!

The only complaint is the live music at the bar next door. Why does the bar have live music on a Monday and Tuesday night when there is no more than 5 people at the bar????
Sitting around the fire pit trying to talk was very difficult.

The Colonial was awesome! It had everything we needed and was a great location right on the strip!!! The only thing that needs upgraded is the mattress on the main floor.

Loved this charming house. It is very spacious and the 12 of us had plenty of room to be together or apart. Wonderful covered porch and fire pit area where we spent most of our time. It is close to business ( literally behind and beside) which is good for people watching or shopping. The bar has live entertainment which is nice to listen to and not so loud to be intrusive. You can’t hear anything inside. We played games at the huge dining room table. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and all the window air conditioners worked. Had a wonderful time.

Our family of 20 from ages 4 to 74 totally enjoyed our stay at The Colonial for the 3rd time. The owner, Matt, quickly addressed anything we needed. Fishing, swimming, nightly campfires, shops, arcades, music (from the daily bands) and good food at Sportsters, next door, completed our annual family vacation.

This is the 2nd time me and my high school girlfriends have stayed at this house. You can't beat the location. Literally, in the middle of the everything. Lots of room for all 10 of us and the house is clean and stocked with everything you'd need. We have already booked our stay for next year.

We've been coming to The Colonial in the summer for a few years now and it has always been a great time there. The Colonial is such an amazing house-from the inside to the large yard and fire pit outside. This year, despite the inclement weather for the first few days, we had another memorable stay. Walking the strip, sitting on the huge porch listening to the band next door at Sportster's, Eddie's Grill, the Sunrise Cafe, karaoke at The Swiss Chalet-all within a two minute walk. Already looking forward to The Colonial in the summer of 2024. Thank you to Matt and P.J!

Loved our beautiful Colonial weekend stay.
Our family takes annual weekend stays in GOTL and it’s always a fun time.
For this year, we got the Colonial. From the giant porch, the fireside chairs, the kitchen table, family and friends enjoyed much conversation about the many events and fun times we shared. The beds were super soft and cozy, air conditioners in the rooms work great! The kitchen has everything and the main bathroom is totally renovated with the best shower! Everything was so easy and the grounds are so spacious and pretty. Having an entire row of parking for guests is just another plus. GOTL is always a place we visit for the nostalgia and this time the Colonial trip will be so memorable, thank you!

Had an amazing time here with our family and extended family. Good meals around the large table, cooked in the large kitchen and loved all the Christmas decorations that were put up to make the place festive. This was our second stay here and I’m sure we will be back again.

We had a blast. There was plenty of room for 16 of us and everything we needed to cook a big family dinner. We played games and enjoyed just being able to have enough room for all of us. We will definitely be back in the future. Thank you so much

Perfect for our group of 15 ladies for our birthday celebration. Awesome dining room table for games and conversation. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Entire house could use a good deep cleaning but love the old character of the house. Would definitely stay again!

Cleanliness and maintenance are seriously lacking. Location is prime if you want to be on the strip and can tolerate loud music late at night on weekends. The house served our purpose for needing many bedrooms and it was ok for a few nights but it needs some TLC.

The property is old. Some sinks didn't drain and electrical issues. There were ants and mouse droppings in the kitchen. The property location is awesome. We made due with what we had. Probably won't stay again, but the porch and location are a perk.
