This property was so beautiful and Serene the check-in process was totally easy there was nobody around your own private Beach area and a lot of relaxation perfect place for a getaway hopefully one day we'll return

Situated at the tip of Ware Neck, the house has commanding views of Monaco Bay and even out into the Chesapeake. A private beach makes it perfect for families. The area is steeped in history as Gloucester has several ‘oldest in Virginia’ claims, plus it’s close enough to Yorktown, Williamsburg, and Jamestown for day trips. Enjoy!

Tucked back into a lovely spot we came for a wedding near Willamsburg - Mattresses were refreshingly more than comfortable! Dishwasher is not made for that counter, but no biggie, we used paper products. Comfortable, could use some updates, but what rental couldn't truly. Beautiful location would be delightful in the summertime.

We fell in love with this property the moment we pulled into the driveway. The house is off a secluded road, with only a few neighbors, who were very friendly; it was EXTREMELY peaceful. The house and porches are beautifully decorated, and laid out perfectly. It was easy for my grandfather to get around, and the perfect space for our 2.5 year old to have a blast. We loved having the yard, and the private beach was just perfect. We definitely took advantage of the kayaks, and life jackets. The house was FULLY stocked: PLENTY of towels, kitchen utensils, etc. My grandfather, my parents, my husband, our daughter, and I came for our end of summer beach trip, and we DEFINITELY did NOT want to leave, it was just the perfect little slice of paradise. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!

We stayed here last year for our "Farewell to Summer" Family vacation. Liked it so much, we came back this year.
The house and property are easy for my elderly mother to navigate. My children divided their time between the beach/water and tv. I lived on the screen porch. Mom and I had a Girl's Shopping Day in Gloucester. The Silver Box, Up South, Smith's Florist & Gifts, Nurtury. Fun and some great finds.
Gourmet food, gifts and post office at Nuttall's.
Bulbs at Brent and Becky's.
The boys insisted on Bubba's Shrimp Shack, twice.
Put our boat in at the Ware House Road Ramp and Mobjack Bay Marina. Beautiful boating and swimming. Didn't catch anything except a huge crab.
I like that bathroom and kitchen basics are supplied. (Soap, shampoo, detergent, sponges, foil, cling wrap, paper plates, oils, s&p, etc.) Many rentals no longer supply them.
Also, that there are canned goods left by guests. Some came in handy and we left some of ours there .
Would like more plates but that's a minor point. The kitchen had everything we could need.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. Ashley was very accesible. Neighbors are awesome and the house --- well it was exactly as pictured. So very comfortable, well stocked and was truly a home away from home. Thank you for allowing us to stay and make it so comfortable.

This is our second stay at this property. Just as amazing this time as it was the first time. The house is beautiful, furnishings and decorations are great. Yard is roomy and well kept. The beach area is amazing. We saw eagles and dolphins everyday. Went out on the kayaks and got up close and personal with the dolphins, they swam within a few feet of us. Had some thunderstorms on a couple of nights to give us beautiful light shows. The guys did some fishing, mostly fed the crabs and turtles. But one of our guys took almost an hour to land a Stingray. Removed the hook, did photo ops and released it. It was beautiful. Loved going to the little General Store up the road. Overall the trip was great, the property was great, Ashley was great and can't wait to do it again.

This was our second year renting, loved it as much. If you like to be away from it all this is the place. Look forward to next year.

In one word: Amazing! Such a beautiful place in a great area! We loved the proximity to the water and the town of Gloucester. We made lots of memories and everyone in town was so friendly. The home was very comfortable for the five of us - plenty of space to spend time together as well as relax alone. My three teenage boys absolutely loved the kayaks and spending time in the water attempting to catch some crabs. Thank you for opening your home to us and creating such a cozy place to make memories.

Very glad we found this property. The home is well appointed and comfortable. The back porch and private beach were where we spent most of our time. The local general store is a must to stop and get some candy or a sandwich. Close to Williamsburg where there’s lots to see and do.
The owner was kind and responsive. Would absolutely stay here again.

Excellent hosts and spacious property

This house is tucked away in a secluded area on the water. Just a few other houses nearby. Exactly our kind of place. We enjoyed the small private beach, complete with crabs, oysters, a horseshoe crab, ospreys and gulls. It is about an hour from Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown, so that is the trade off for being right on the water, but that was fine for us. Very clean, comfortable and lovely house. Fantastic view from the screened in porch.
4.8
Beautiful sunrises, well-equipped kitchen, private beach, and 3 separate bedrooms…the perfect home for our girls’ trip! Yorktown, Jamestown and Williamsburg were all an easy drive away. The wi-fi is medium strength but I was able to check email. For streaming videos it was a bit slow. Who cares when you have such a great river view and so much peace and quiet? The screened porch is THE BEST!

Beautiful place. Very comfortable furniture, especially the beds. Kitchen amenities were great - we cooked every day with ease. Great communication with host.

Our stay was so relaxing and quiet, view was amazing. Perfect getaway. Home was beautifully decorated and spotless.

Beautiful property on the water. I wish it were closer to Williamsburg, but clean property with stunning views.

This is a very relaxing and beautiful property and was very much enjoyed by 7 members of our family. The property manager is very accommodating and friendly. The only minus for us was the 1 hour drive to Williamsburg where we spent 3 lovely days together. Fall is a beautiful time of year to visit the area even if it is a beach house.

Our Annual Beach Week with my Parents was wonderful. Even though it rained every day Except check-out. It was wonderful because of the cottage & location.
The cottage was even better than the photos. Decor was spot on. Layout was perfect: with my parents in master suite with large bath, and me & hubby in second king bed on the other side of the cottage with children in queen room and a shared full bath. Beds were plush and comfy. Nice linens. Plenty of blankets, hangers. Big closets with benches for suitcases. First rental i've seen with plenty of towel hooks. Info book was thorough (except for tv remote instructions which are in the works).
The Porches!!!
Front porch with comfortable seating and sunset behind the trees.
Back porch with two comfy seating areas and a dining area. We lived on the screened porch!
Good selection of kitchen cookware and utensils. Things we brought which were helpful: sponge/scrubbie, ziplock bags, matches, sweeteners. We cooked steaks on the grill.
We made good use of the kayaks, paddleboard and life jackets.
The location: Perfect!
Only 5 houses on our street at the end of the point. Beautiful, expansive river & bay view. Sandy beach, shallow water protected by rocky breakwaters.
Ashley was responsive to our questions.

Great group vacation home. The beach was fantastic, and the screen porch was wonderful. Dishwasher wasn't working while we were there, but that didn't stop us from relaxing and enjoying our stay.

This property is one for the books!! The cleanliness of the home, the view of the water, the tranquility of the beach makes this listing one you should not skip on! The layout of the home makes it very easy to spread out into your own space, while still feeling connected. The back porch with its view, and the beach, were the best part for our family. We have 2 children under five and the back screened in porch allowed for extended play space and a wonderful extra dining space. The beach was also wonderful for our children as well. With gentle rolling tides and shallow soft sand, we never felt scared or on edge with them on the beach. This property is also in a tremendously convenient spot. It is within 10 minutes of Walmart, Aldi, Chick-fil-a, McDonalds and lots of other sanity saving places! Add in historic Gloucester and all the hole in the wall small businesses, you have a trip made for all ages!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Thoughtfully decorated, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Meals were easy to prepare and dinning with a view was wonderful. We spent most of our time on the porch, at the beach, or kayaking. My 2 daughters and grandson came up for a few days and loved it as well. Ashley kindly offered to change out the box for a faster internet,we did not see a need as we had no problems with it. I can't thank you enough for our stay and can't wait until next year.

I spent a week here in August of 2022 with my husband, and 2 young kids. My 6 year old had a great time hunting for crabs in the water, and my 1 year old loved splashing on the beach and pointing out all the fish. The only negative was the bugs, but that's not a fault of the property at all. Just bring extra bug spray and some anti-itch cream for the inevitable mosquito bite. Overall we had a great time relaxing here, making memories, and spending the week together as a family.

We had such a great time! Great house, views, water, etc..House was decorated beautifully. Short distant to country store, town and walmart. Will definitely go back sometime!

Peaceful Beachfront Getaway & Wonderful Memories
THINGS WE LOVED: The house was in a wonderful location, very cute, beautifully decorated, clean, and reasonably priced. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals, and I could tell the property owner, Ashley, has put a lot of thought and care into her property. Ashley communicated quickly when I had a question which was really appreciated. The house was fully stocked and I loved the small details that made a big difference such as provided bed sheets, bath towels, toilet paper, etc. We loved the house's secluded and serene location and a private beach just out back since we wanted to get away from a busy life. My kids really enjoyed seeing many animals (crabs, a horseshoe crab, fishes, bunnies, groundhogs, etc.). In addition to the beach, we enjoyed visiting many wonderful locations such as Fort Monroe and New Point Comfort Natural Area Preserve. A meal at Bubba's Shrimp Shack perfectly rounded out the vacation, and we highly recommended it.
THINGS TO KNOW: If you, unfortunately, need to do some work on your vacation trip like me, the house only comes with a hot spot, and access to the internet can be unstable. Also, we would recommend bringing bottled water instead of a water filter to drink. The tap water was on the salty side. In addition, Google/Apple maps might not bring you all the way to the house. If you get a message that you have arrived in the middle of the forest, keep driving until you reach the end of the peninsula.
SUMMARY: We really loved the stay and the beautiful memories we made on this trip. It was indeed one of the best vacations for our family. Ashley, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful place :).

Nice, quiet location
This was our second time at this house. Their house is very clean and comfortable. It is nice that it is all on one floor so that we do not have to go up and down steps. We enjoy that you can walk out the back door to a small beach where you can swim in water that is warmish even at the beginning of June. The neighborhood is very quiet and right on the Mobjack Bay.

Wonderful place to get away from it all. Your own private beach and a beautiful screened in patio to view it from. .A little bit isolated, but then that was the idea. Ashley was most helpful rearranging the time because of covid. GO, ENJOY !

Lovely Clean Home But Difficult For Seniors
I will preface by sharing we are seniors, so our review is strictly from an "older-eye" perspective. Plus, none of our issue are the fault of the owners as they presented an accurate description of the home in the photos. We just underestimated the ease of accessibility . The front steps to the home were a problem bringing in luggage and getting up and down during the week. Only my husband took the chance of going down the steps to the beach. Not the best steps and railing was unsteady. The furniture was very uncomfortable for "old knees" as you sank down what felt like to the floor so trying to get up became comical. Other big issue was location. The home came up in a search of locations near Williamsburg as that was our prime destination. As the crow flies, it was about 45 minutes from the home to the Williamsburg area, but what the directions don't tell you is it is a hard drive. We arrived at night and it was extremely hard to find. Initially, heavy traffic which then turned into dark country roads with multiple turns and some gravel road. After a week, we got the hang of it, but we made sure to be back from our daily outings before dark. Again, age played a factor. I would not suggest this location if your prime destination is Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We spent a lot of time on the road. This would be a wonderful summer location if you settled in to just enjoy the water front location (sunrises were awesome) and water activities and did not plan on much touring of the area.
