Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Welcome pack. Small lawned garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. . Perfectly located a mile away from the popular attraction of Hall Hill Farm, guests will find Browney Cottage the ideal location for exploring the local area. On the ground floor is a traditional style living room with comfortable furnishings and wood burner. The kitchen and dining area are to the rear of the property and are well equipped. On the first floor guests will find a double bedroom, twin bedroom and family bathroom. There is private parking for two cars and a lovely garden area where you can sit out and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Guests have free entry into Hall Hill Farm where all the family will be sure to have a fun time. Set in the beautiful rolling hills of County Durham, Hall Hill Farm is an award-winning mixed farm of 290 acres, a great day out for guests of all ages. With tractor rides, lamb feeding, animal petting, indoor and outdoor play, tea room and café there really is something for everyone right on the doorstep. Only 2 miles away from the popular village of Lanchester where guests will find a great variety of pubs, restaurants, bistros and shops. Perfect for guests who enjoy a walking or cycling holiday as there are numerous established public footpaths, walks and cycle paths that lead from the area and out into the beautiful scenery of County Durham. The picturesque hills, valleys and dales of Teesdale and Weardale are both between a 20 and 30-minute drive away, where walkers will find themselves surrounded by some of the most fabulous scenery and countryside that County Durham has to offer. Along the way there are many lovely villages including Stanhope, Killhope, Frosterley, Tow Law and Wolsingham.
To the north, Northumberland National Park and Hadrian’s Wall can be reached within an easy hour’s drive. The Derwent Valley Railway Path that leads east towards the outskirts of Durham is popular with cyclists, whilst the Waskerley Way leads west into the vast open spaces of Weardale. For those wanting to enjoy a spot of history and culture the cathedral city of Durham, which has recently been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status, is just a 10 mile drive away. Durham offers plenty of attractions to enjoy at all times of year including the bi-annual Lumiere Durham Light Festival, the yearly miners gala, jazz festival, poetry festival and book week.
