Luxury two bedroom, very spacious, split level apartment in a converted former farmhouse, with exceptional views from all rooms.. First Floor:

Bedroom 2: Zip And Link 2 x Single (3ft) Beds
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Attachment, Cubicle Shower, Toilet
Second Floor:
Living/dining room: Freeview TV, DVD Player, Books, Games, Electric Fire
Kitchen: Electric Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer Dryer. Electricity, gas, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Cot available. . Large communal grounds with picnic tables. Parking for 2 cars. Visit England 4 Star. Please note: This property is accessed by a rough track.. High Rigg is situated at Fieldside Grange on the edge of Keswick, close to Castlerigg Stone Circle in an elevated position. This luxury split level apartment has been decorated to a good standard and is in a very quiet location. Situated on the first and second floors it is in a prime position and has the most stunning views from every window of the grounds, Cat Bells and mountain ranges. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to cook a great meal.
Built in 1850 this grand former farmhouse has been sympathetically renovated and refurbished to provide 10 superb apartments, whilst retaining its original slate and stone building. Field side Grange is a peaceful retreat set in spacious grounds and ideally situated with an abundance of walks in the surrounding area and a wealth of amenities in Keswick, 1½ miles.

This is an excellent, well equipped apartment with great views towards Causey Pike from the living room window. Only negative comment would be about the access track which is very poor and could be a problem in winter weather

Great accommodation. As some others have commented the track up to the apartments is tricky, unmade and no passing places, especially if you don’t have a 4x4. But it’s drivable and only a glitch in an otherwise perfect stay.

Very spacious, but cosy accommodation and plenty of equipment / books and games to keep us occupied during the rain.
Negative points were lack of recycling facilities and beds too soft (although that's a personal view!)
There should have been a couple of extra toilet rolls for the week as we were paying quite a lot for a two bedroom property. That and there was no welcome hamper, which you tend to get in properties at this price range. Just a few additional touches and an organised recycling regime will make it perfect.

We would have scored this cottage as a 9 or 10 but for one significant aspect. The track to the cottage is a serious problem. It is long, twisty, narrow and rough, but most concerning is the total lack of any passing places. We were very fortunate not to have met anything coming the other way during our week, but would not have relished the prospect of trying to reverse our car up or down this track. Even at the top where the land widens and passing would be possible the owner has put rocks to prevent this, presumably valuing their grass above customers cars and convenience.
A great pity because everything else was faultless and we had a very enjoyable week. I would not go as far as to not recommend based on the track, but it would make me think very hard about returning and I think the details should make it clear that there is a significant access issue.

A fantastic holiday accommodation out of the way from the hustle and bustle but close enough to Keswick for shopping,Restaurants etc...
The Apartment itself was Probably the best we’ve stayed at. It was really private, and tucked away up the hill, Just a mile or so from the town, with beautiful views from every window. I have to say that the photos of this apartment don’t show how spacious it is. The owners have thought of everything to make this a really comfortable place to relax in after a day out walking around the Lakes. Beds comfy and bathrooms were clean. Overall a really lovely place to stay.
