Well managed and ideally located for our stay.
Well managed and ideally located for our stay. Kitchen thoughtfully equipped with all needs. Lack of a shower was a minor negative but otherwise a great experience. The pub next door is very nice .... though possibly habit forming!

The cottage is well equipped and in a very pleasant village setting. Though we found the cottage comfortable, we think it would be totally unsuitable for a family with young children or adults with low mobility because of the steep spiral staircase. The shower does not work so the bath has to be used. The main bedroom has a large bed which fills the room so that anyone sleeping on the left side has to climb out over the rt hand occupant if necessary during the night. There is an open fire but little kindling was provided and was damp. There was very little information on facilities eg restaurants pubs shops etc in the area and no map of the area, something which we have always found before in properties. We have stayed in better properties for a lower cost.

Lovely cottage with everything you need, however a shower would be nice.
Lovely cottage with everything you need, however a shower would be nice. Also need to be careful if you have a small dog as there is a large gap under the gate where they can get out

The cottage was clean and tidy, We had a friendly welcome from the caretaker. The cottage is close to a lovely dog walk that starts alongside the beer garden of next doors pub. The food in the pub is excellent and there is a local butcher on the green. Despite there being a pub next door the area is actually quiet. The only downside is the stairs, they are not for the faint hearted. We will book this cottage again.

The cottage was very cosy, a small master bedroom, but the super-king-sized bed was very comfortable! Slightly dated in places, but everything worked, so it didn't really matter that things looked a bit dated as it was all well kept. The only drawback is the shower - it's a handheld shower-head only, which worked, but was awkward to use. The bath was spacious and clean though.

A few tweeks would make all the difference, eg clean the oven, make the bathroom door lock properly, and install a shower head fitting at normal height. However the seating and the beds were very comfortable and it was nice and warm. The modern ambience of the building was very pleasant. Being set on the village green among the trees, by a smart pub and pretty cottages but with access to Subury suited us.
