We had a great stay at this house. Everything was as described, host was helpful, house was comfy. You can't beat the location - it's on a quiet street, but close to all the fun stuff in Portland. Our kids loved the little children's play room.

Property was as-advertised and very clean/well maintained. My 3 year old was obsessed with the secret kids play area off the living room. Off street parking and easy walk to coffee shops and restaurants. Owner was friendly and super helpful, even helped with a flat tire the morning we were getting ready to leave. Would definitely rent again

Jim’s house was a perfect spot for our family. Great location- an easy walk to downtown, restaurants, etc. Jim was a great host and even shared pickleball paddles and a basketball when our kids wanted to play out back.

We were in Portland for our daughter’s grad school graduation, and our accommodations were perfect. Jim was an awesome host! Thank you so much for the use of you home.

This was the perfect spot for a family visit for a long weekend. Three generations - ourselves, our son and his wife and toddler daughter - came to visit our daughter and son-in-law who live just two blocks away.
The apartment is spacious, clean, well stocked, and very child-friendly right down to the mini rocking chair and small nook filled with toys, games, oversized stuffed animals and dollhouse.
Communication with the owner was easy; we had no issues but if we had, the owner lives downstairs.
We feel lucky to have found this, and hope to stay there again when we are all able to get back to Portland together.
Highly recommend it.

Our stay in this beautiful apartment space was as close to perfect as one can get with a family on vacation. Location was not only in a quiet and quaint section of Portland but was central and convenient to all areas of the city. The space had all the amenities of a home and the comfort. The entire apartment was clean, very clean. When we return we intend to seek this space again, could not recommend it enough.

Fantastic property and thoughtful amenities. The property exceeded both the listing and our expectations. Hosts were communicative and welcoming. Location is fantastic, close enough to all the attractions of Portland while still being quiet. The kids nook was an outstanding feature and much appreciated by my 3 and 5 year olds. Will definitely seek to stay again if our travels bring us back to Portland.

Great place to stay, with a great location

This property sits on the outskirts of Portland and it was lovely. Yes, the stairs are a young mans game, but they weren't too bad as we were out and about for a majority of our trip. Rooms were well equipped with plenty of fans, blankets, etc. Communication with the owner was simple and breezy. He was always available when needed. Place was 25-30 minutes walking distance from anything you would need. Loved the stay, loved the city. Great overall experience.

Lovely location and well equipped apartment. Could just do with a couple more easy chairs to save arguments at the end of a long day site seeing !

Jim was communicative and kind, the space was bigger than we were expecting and the neighborhood is beautiful. It was a great place to land for a quick portland weekend!

Well equipped 3BR/1Ba accommodations, with large kitchen/dining/sitting gathering room. We had no children in our group, but the special kids nook (with books, games, stuffed animals, and kid-sized chairs) would be great for families traveling with small ones. Kitchen has plenty of dishes and pots/pans if you want to stay in and cook instead of dining out, plus Keurig coffee maker for early risers. But also, get out and walk the neighborhood, several coffee shops nearby, and get your exercise walking down to the Old Port or to take the ferry (best lobster roll at the Island Lobster Co on Peaks Island). Overall trip was a great success, and our lodgings made things easy to come home and rest between outings.

The house had plenty of space for our family of four. Great communication with the owner and the house was close enough to Old Port but in a quiet neighborhood.

House located in convenient West End neighborhood. Has a cute “kids nook” with books, dollhouse, stuffed animals and games. It’s on the 3rd floor so there’s lots of steps. Property very clean. Owners super friendly and quick to respond. Outside has basketball goal, pickle ball net and lots of seating. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall the stay went well and no major issues with anything. Location was fabulous and the parking was very nice. Biggest issues were that the cleanliness was lacking (floors weren’t clean, found a few pieces of silverware that were put away with food specs still on them) and the common area was generally not very usable or comfortable. There were only a couple soft chairs to sit on, and one of them was a massage chair that didn’t have a way to get the massager out of the way, so if you weren’t using the massager the mechanism just stuck out of the chair and made it very uncomfortable. Wish that had been better.

I have to say, it was even better than expected. The space was comfortable, clean, and easy to access. There were plenty of fans provided to help with some of the mid-day heat, and the additional patio premise was a nice addition. Jim was very communicative and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Would happily stay here again anytime.

Jim's place was everything we were looking for and more as a home base for our family near Maine Med. We were anticipating a NICU stay, which happened, and Jim was so helpful and accommodating of our special circumstances. Our daughters (ages 6 and 2) were delighted with the play nook, which was stocked with books, games and toys, providing hours of entertainment during our stay. The apartment has it's own washer and dryer, which was a must for us with a longer stay, plus it had off street parking, which is a major bonus in Portland. We were extremely comfortable and cared for here for the duration of our 2 week stay, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

We had four girls stay here for a 50th birthday. It was a great location 1.3 mile walk from downtown (Old Port) in a beautiful safe neighborhood. The apartment was on the third floor of the home and was much bigger than it looked in listing. We had everything we needed for a nice stay. Only small hiccup was that there was only a Keurig (not a regular coffee pot). We had brought ground coffee- but there was a few complimentary Keurig cups that got us through until our friend showed up with a coffee pot! I would definitely stay here again!

Cute apartment in the top of a three story older house (lots of stairs - important to keep in mind if you have heavy luggage). Fully equipped kitchen, good wifi, great shower. Super easy to walk to everything you could possibly need. We ended up walking all over town. I’d definitely stay here again.

We stayed at this apartment for three nights during a trip with friends. It’s spacious and has lots of extra stuff in the space to make it more comfortable - like plastic wrap, tissues, cooking spray, scissors, and ample pots and pans, which we used for breakfast. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and feels very safe. Lots of private parking.
The stairs to the third floor are no joke, but that was clear in the information, so we expected it.
Jim was very responsive and helpful. He even offered to help us when a friend was trying to make arrangements to fly home for a family emergency. We had a great visit, and would definitely stay again.

My friends and I stayed for three nights in this lovely home. The place was clean and had everything we needed. Although the owners lived down stairs, it felt as if we were the only ones there. Would stay again if we went back to visit. Great walking distance to many locations in downtown.

We had a wonderful stay in Portland. We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and looking at all the historic homes. The house is conveniently located to many attractions including the Old Port. Jim and his wife were very helpful with dinner suggestions and even let us borrow beach chairs!

This was our 4th girls' trip to Portland, and our first stay at this property. Loved the quiet residential neighborhood and how walkable it is to the Congress street area. Also just minutes from Thompson Point (one of our destinations for this trip) and the airport (two of the three of us flew in).
Jim was an excellent host, answered all our questions and helped with any minor issues we had. We had plenty of room for the three of us, and loved having the kitchen to enjoy snacks and meals. Travelers should note that there is one bedroom which does not have a/c in case that matters to you (the weather was lovely during our visit, but if it had been hot, may have been an issue). Not all the bedroom windows have curtains, so if you need dark to sleep, bring an eye mask. During the time we were there, it gets really bright out at 530 am! It was great to have laundry available to us as well!

This is our second year in a row staying here. The apartment is roomy, very comfortable and well equipped for a family stay or, as for us, a week's vacation with my girlfriends. The neighborhood is centrally located and historic, with gorgeous architecture. The hosts are communicative and very helpful. We look forward to staying here again next year!

We would certainly stay again. Met all our needs. Our host Jim was very nice and available if needed. Convienient to all Portland and Cape Elizabeth.

The hardest bit of checking in was figuring out that the entrance is in the back of the building - and there is a different number in the front than the back.
The third floor apartment in beutifully furnished. Two of the bedrooms have window air conditioners.
my family took 1/2 mile walks to restaurants, a half mile walk to a Sea Dogs baseball game.

The place was great. Nice outdoor seating area shared with owners. Very walkable location. Jim was instantly responsive by text with every question. Highly recommend.

Beautiful and unique space in great location
We had a great stay in this lovely home. Don't be afraid of the third floor location- we were there in July, and the abundant fans and AC kept us plenty cool! It is such a unique space, and has a WONDERFUL toy, book and play nook that delighted our children!
It is nice to have a dedicated parking area in this neighborhood, and the "tar beach" was nicely shaded in the afternoon and evening. The neighbors were super friendly, and even helped us get in when we arrived late and there was a mismatch between the texted code and the one in the app!
We would absolutely stay here again, and definitely recommend if you have kids. FYI- the WiFi was a little challenging at times and glitched on us and with the TV, but the owner was responsive, and I'm sure could have resolved it. We just didn't care to because we were having such a great time in summer in Portland, Maine!
