The best views in Highlands, walk to Main Street. Just two steps to enter a spacious and inviting getaway. The 260 degree view of several mountain ranges is unsurpassed and can be appreciated from the main living area as well as the Master Bedroom and adjoining Master Bathroom.

Step through the french doors and enjoy fresh air, magnificent views and sounds of nature from the privacy of an inviting deck perfect for coffee or dining. Our guests can rise to the sight of a stunning sunrise before enjoying the wonders of Highlands and surrounding areas.

The home offers a well equipped gourmet kitchen which is open to the living and dining areas. The Master Bedroom sports a king size bed guaranteed for comfort, a large closet area and wall mounted TV. The adjoining Master Bath includes an oversized tub and separate Spa shower, a 5 star experience. A second bedroom with 2 twin beds overlooks the garden and opens to a guest bathroom with full sized shower.

Have to work a little away from the office or catch up with a few friends while you are here. You can do it.......fiber optic internet provided with 250/250 mbps speed.

There is a cooler in the garage and portable chairs, larger pots and pans besides the washer and dryer(detergent, etc.. is there for your convenience )please feel free to use what you need. In the master closet there are picnic blankets, insulated food and beverage carriers, beach towels for Highlands state-of-the-art pool or a visit to the natural swimming holes.If there are any amenities that will make your visit more enjoyable please speak up! We want you to have the best time ever.

If you haven’t visited Highlands in a while or it is a first there are new and exciting places and happenings as well as all the magnificent beauty and resources that abound in this elevated piece of heaven. Music in the town square and park, a movie theater where you can have glass of wine if you don’t want a coke, new eateries, shopping and entertainment for all.

Coffee and teas are always on hand and given notice grocery shopping ,meal and entertaining preparation can be arranged with ease and rave results.

If an unexpected storm comes up cutting power, no problem, our full house backup generator will step in until the utility crews arrive. A garage is also available to help you get out of the weather.

In case you need help or directions, the owners stay in a private unit below when in town. Last but not least (maybe first) rest and relaxing come easy with lovely views and beautiful sunrises. Some folks just decide to hang around and enjoy!

In the Top of the Knob neighborhood, this beautiful home is the best of all worlds - high enough for unobstructed views of mountains as far as you can see, secluded enough to be completely out of the hustle & bustle, but just a quick 5 minute drive to downtown Highlands! Anne is the perfect host! We were greeted with a welcome basket of wine, snacks & a delicious coffee cake. She stocked the fridge with beverages, butter & cream for coffee. A wide variety of teas and coffee were also provided. Anne gives recommendations for hikes, restaurants & more. We will definitely be back!

The stay was amazing! House is beautiful, comfortable, convenient to town. Owner went out of her way to make sure we were well taken care of - we actually got married on the beautiful deck with amazing views of the mountains. Will definitely return and spend more time there. You couldn't find a better place with care, comfort and beauty.

You search and search on VRBO for just the right place. You stare at the pictures repeatedly, study the location on the map, and wonder if the view is really that good. You can stop now. This home really is that good. The location is amazing and the view is sublime. Perfect for 2 couples. To get a porch and view like this so close to town is very difficult. We immediately signed up for next year. That should tell you everything.

Top of the Knob is the perfect location to be close to town yet feel far away. This home is well appointed, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We especially enjoyed the hummingbirds’ daily visits to the porch. A perfect, relaxing stay!

Top of the Knob is a perfect location in Highlands - so convenient to everything and a lovely morning mountain view. Carl and Anne are incredible hosts and their home is lovely, super comfortable and equipped with anything you could possibly need! Bed was crazy comfortable and we spent many hours enjoying the gas fireplace (no messy ashes!!). Anne was in residence downstairs during the first part of our stay but we never heard her, and only saw her a few times- very unobtrusive. Overall a truly delightful stay!

Enjoyed the spectacular mountain views along and the ability to walk to downtown Highlands (quite uphill on the return but no issue). Property manager Carl and owner Anne were helpful and very responsive. Enjoyed the welcome goodies. Beds were comfortable.

Excellent property for visit of 4 to Highlands. Master BR has king bed, with tub in bath; second BR has two singles, with shower in bath. An earlier reviewer said it was walking distance to town—we think that it is a bit of an overstatement, but it’s definitely only a short drive. An earlier reviewer commented on the presence of the owner downstairs—we found that to be no problem or issue whatsoever, we never saw or heard her. We would have no hesitation to rent this property again.

Perfect for a small party. We attended a wedding with 3 adults. The homeowners stayed in the lower level. No issues with that. Nicely stocked with towels, comfortable beds, nice kitchen and welcome basket!

This property has the rare combination of spectacular mountain views along with a location that is close enough to downtown to allow walking, if desired. The property manager Carl was incredibly responsive and helpful. The home was clean, quiet and with updated amenities. Definitely recommended and we hope to return here soon!

Owners were super responsive and flexible when our dates changed slightly. The house is perfectly located and just the right size for a couple or small family. Amazing view of the mountain and a cozy fireplace that was perfect for cold mornings and the cold rainy day when we mostly stayed inside.

Beautifully designed home with expansive, glorious views of the mountain range from inside and the Large deck. Lushly landscaped and nicely decorated. Comfy open floor plan and very nice kitchen. Everything we needed + Lots of personal touches. So close to town but peaceful and quiet surroundings.

Beautiful and comfortable home with a spectacular view from the huge deck on the back of the house. The owner was very accommodating and responsive. Our second visit to this property and it was great- just as the last time. Home has a wonderful view, really comfortable mattress, and everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. Ann was so gracious to check on us and gave us very helpful information. Also the snacks and other things provided were so appreciated!

Wonderful home, clean and fabulous view....but...

This was a wonderful home, clean, comfy bed, close to town, and the view is magnificent! Anne left goodies and a nice welcome note, which was so thoughtful. We loved all of these special qualities of this great home, but....the fact that Anne was there and we were aware of it because we could hear her, made it to where we were not 100% comfortable. We did read before we booked the house that “Anne stays below in the basement when she’s in town, but you would never know she was there”. This is just not the case. You are well aware she is there. We could hear her tv going, we smelled her cooking, we tried sleeping in on one rainy day but were unable to because of hearing her underneath us, and the noise became so much one time at 11:30 pm, (closing doors or cabinets, moving chairs? and constant walking back and forth), our last evening there, we texted her to ask if she could keep it down and we couldn’t sleep. We didn’t get a reply, but the noise level lowered in about 15 mins. As a long time VRBO customer, and one who reads the reviews thoroughly before renting, I would want to know these things before renting this house and felt other customers would want to know this. I would have given this house 5 stars if not for this issue.

After 38 stays in 26 cabins/homes in southeast mountains of Georgia, NC, Tennessee, & SC, we should be considered Elite Reviewers. That said, this location is one of the BEST EVER! You know the view has to be spectacular, and it is, and the location perfect. What you don't know if how very comfortable the bed is and the owners' attention to details (chocolate snacks, cheese biscuits, soft drinks, spices, etc.). Everything you need is on one level including the garage--super convenient. A lovely neighborhood to stroll/run through, along with location info on grocery stores, the best food/wine for the price, & things to do. Obviously we enjoyed our stay and would have rated it a "6 star" had that been available. Certainly recommend it to all others.
