The host was easy to communicate with. We brought our family and dogs and had a great time. There was much space for kids and dogs to run around outside the home. It was a short walk to the waterfront and comvenient to nearby beaches. We would recommend to others!

It was a very spacious home. It felt like a home away from home. Just a short walk to Slaughter Beach where you can sit and relax and enjoy the scenery or take a walk along the shore or jump in for a swim. Our host, Carolyn was very gracious and thoughtful. Answering all our questions and assuring us that we could contact her with any concerns. It was a very pleasurable stay where memories were created.

just what was needed

The property was beyond our expectations! We loved the location, literally walking 100 feet to the bay side near a fire station. There is decent public bathroom and shower as well for an easy rinse. The bay side was perfect for us to spend time in the water with our dog, ankle deep at sunset and around waist level during the day near the shore. We had SUP and kayak so we brought our dog out for a ride and spent most our time paddling and floating in the water. It’s a perfect water environment without big waves.
The house itself was really a nice stay, it had more space then we needed , 2 people and a dog. Everything you need is provided. It has an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. You can store stuff either on the deck or under the deck. It has a huge yard to play some outdoor games. You can BBQ as well. The host Carolyn was very responsive and kind to recommend things to do and provide tips about the beach. Thank you, Carolyn!!
We loved the house’s entertainment system, such as HBO, Netflix. It’s such a way to spend some downtime with family. We cooked most of the time for our meals and enjoyed local restaurants. We already think about visiting in August already before school starts!

We LOVED our stay in this house. It was across the street from the beach and very quiet. We felt like we had a private beach! The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The bedrooms had lamps, tables, and linens. The kitchen had lots of dishes, pots and pans and even bottled water for drinking. We had plenty of space for our family and even room for my brother's families to visit. The owner was very helpful and responded very quickly when I needed with Wifi code. There was lots of parking and I love that the beach was right across the street! The beach was very quiet and it felt like our own private beach. There was a parking lot on the beach, a picnic pavilion with 6 tables, and a shower for your feet. The house also had a shower for your feet. I will definitely stay here again.

Great family place
Going into the rental we were unsure about its location off the water, but it truly is only 100 steps from the beach and is a nice location to start exploring from or to just hang out.
The interior was very comfortable for six adults, the AC worked great on hot days, and the screened patio was nice for having outdoor meals and for watching sunsets, storms rolling in from the northwest, or just the birds flying over the marsh area. Since it was during COVID, we did almost all our cooking at the unit and the kitchen was great for preparing meals (you can get fresh seafood, including nice blue crabs right down the road at That's Right Fresh Seafood).
The area was nice for exploring, with a much quieter setting than the Atlantic side beaches. The beach was never overcrowded, even on the 4th of July, and the water does not get deep quickly so it's great for young kids and dogs (even our young adult children enjoyed it, although it is not a large wave/body surfing area). With the quietness of the area, it was perfect for exploring the area and other nearby beaches by bike. If you want the Atlantic waves, it's an easy drive to get to several beaches (stand up paddle boarding in Dewey Beach bay, with lunch at Dewey Beer Company was a great combo).
And as for interactions with the owners, they were super easy to deal with and were very gracious when we mistakenly locked ourselves out of the unit. We will definitely be back again at some point!

Lack of communication and uncleanly
The property was at a nice quiet location with easy beach access, which was nice for our family. However, prior to our arrival the owner had no communication with us regarding entry and/or information about the property. The cleanliness was horrible. There were flies by the dozens and left over dishes sitting around. I took pictures and video of it because I could not believe how disgusting it was. We ended our stay early and just left because we could not deal with the flies any longer. We tried contacting the owner for a partial refund because of the inconvenience of having to leave early regarding the cleanliness and never heard back. We will not be staying here again.

Everything and more.
Loved it! It's set up like a home away from home. I felt like we were staying at a friends house or something. I over packed not knowing what i might need but they had it all. The beach is very close and usually very quiet with only a few people around. I spent lots of time fishing but we found out the first day we were there that the water didnt meet quality standards for swimming so we swam at Lewes beach instead. Overall we had a wonderful stay and I we will be back!

Great for kids
We had a nice stay in Slaughter Beach. The playground and tennis courts nearby were wonderful for my two young kids. The house was nice and the AC was amazing. The one thing that we weren’t prepared for was the sulfur water. The adults got used to it but the kids had a hard time. However it didn’t deter us. Would definitely come back.

Excellent rental!
The property was very clean and spacious. The location is wonderful, & is super close to beach access. I love that it is pet friendly, as we were able to bring our 4-legged kid with us on vacation. (He LOVED vacation at the beach btw, lol!) Kitchen was stocked with all the pots, pans, utensils, etc, that we needed. Linens for the bathroom & bedrooms were included, which made it nice for us because then we didn’t have to pack that stuff.
Hubby had a blast fishing from the beach. Communication with Carolyn was excellent. We will DEFINITELY be back!!!!!

Quiet, cozy, getaway
Our stay was everything the listing promised. The house was away from the congested larger beach towns which made for nice escape at the end of the day. The unit above us had a full house and we had 4 in our party. During the morning rush the plumbing was a little sluggish but not a huge issue. Kitchen was stocked with all we needed to cook a few meals which was nice. Carolyn was great with communication.

Good location, steps to beach, tennis and basket courts! Very nice family stay include dog..
House is spacious with large dinner table, screened porch. next to grill. Back yard connects to a large open grass land and community park where we had lot of fun with kids, dog running around, hitting tennis etc. Steps to beach where many of us saw horseshoe crabs for the first time, lots of them in the evening.
We were lucky to be the first guest after first floor renovation. Richard and Carolyn were so nice and on top of things. We for sure want to come back again.
One advice: you will want to use bug spay ALL the time when you are outside.
