About this house rental
The Island of Curacao has many wonders to enjoy. Take in the most beautiful sunset you'll ever see, snorkel before breakfast, dive right from our beach, teach your children to swim or eat at one of two restaurants located at Playa Lagun. All of these are at your fingertips from Lagoon Ocean Resort. The waters are calm and the sea life is abundant. The climate is warm, yet our trade winds keep you comfortable. Curacao is located outside the hurricane belt just east of Aruba in the Caribbean where it never rains for very long.
This unit sits approximately 20 feet above sea level and less than 10 feet from its edge. It features a second floor Master Bedroom Suite with private bath, loft/sitting room and two sets of sliders to a large terrace which provides a breath taking view of the sea and sunset. Granite counter tops have been added to enhance the beauty of this exceptional unit. No matter where you look, the view is nothing less than spectacular. Leave the windows open and fall asleep to the sounds of the sea. Lounge in the pool just outside your door or walk down the steps to Playa Lagun. A dive shop is located at the beach below us for your convenience. Christoffel National Park and Shete Boca are about 15 minutes away. Take a 35 minute drive into Willemstad and window shop or take a walking tour that highlights the beautiful Dutch architecture. The Aquarium with its Dolphin Academy is a favorite for the kids.
You are sure to run out of time before running out of things to do and see. We have a Residence Manager on site to attend to your needs and ensure a carefree stay.

Beautiful, perfect spot with an amazing view. About 30-45 minutes from the city. Lots of nearby beaches and the beach there was amazing.
Bring your own beach towels, they don’t have any. Nothing is in the house, no paper towels, no oil, no spices, if you want to cook, be sure to get that stuff also. They have a coffee pot, you need to bring coffee.
We brought our own snorkeling equipment, I recommend that. Great snorkeling there, we went everyday.
2 restaurants within walking distance.
We had the best week and vacation!
There is a short 3 min walk to beach, one of the ways is a steep big staircase.
And they did have a cooler there to use which was helpful.
You go to beach and grab a chair and set

Perfect View and Location
This house in the Lagoon Ocean Resort exceeded our expectations. The view from the 2 back decks are the perfect place for morning coffee and for drinks watching the sunset. My wife and I also found this was the perfect location to explore this side of the island, we were close to many beaches and both of the National Parks. The interior of the house is cleaner and better than in the pictures. The beds are good and the kitchen was more than adequate for us.( There is no oven, if you need one on vacation!!). The restaurant on site also has a beautiful view and the food is very good. It is also very convenient, we ended up eating there 3 times in our 7 days. You can snorkel or scuba dive right from the beach next to the house. It is not the Ritz Carlton if that is what you are looking for. It is however the perfect spot to experience Curaçao. I would say it can easily sleep 6 people as there are bedrooms and bathrooms for everybody but the living areas would be perfect for 4. Both the owner and the property manager were very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed.
And they bring you fresh bread and/or croissants to your door every morning if you want!!! Thank
You for a great vacation.

Playa Lagun for the win on best view
The property was undergoing some major renovations, so any minor inconveniences or imperfections I attribute to that and thus will not be overly harsh in that regard. Firstly, the primary reason I chose the property was the view, photos don’t do it justice and it didn’t disappoint in real life. The surrounding area has lots of other beaches with their own unique beauty and levels of accommodations. There are plenty of restaurants around the location as well. If you want a low key, relaxing get away within the getaway, this is a great location. No cities just countryside, hills and beaches. Management was easy to work with as was the dive shop. Scuba and snorkeling at Playa Lagoon was also very nice, sea turtles, rays, octopus, puffer fish and the other usual denizens of the reef were all in attendance. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend to a friend.

Family trip
Great trip! Family of 5 first time to Curacao. Great location for northwest side of island beach/snorkel trips. Lagun was great for snorkeling itself, too, and just right down the long staircase. Drank probably way too many smoothies at Bahia which was needed.
Kids loved the 10 yard step to the pool during downtime, as did we.
Simple check-in, check-out.
Next time we'll utilize the grocery service on arrival as it could have saved us a bunch of time the first morning.
FYI, check out the fresh baked bread service as well.

Great Place to stay but a bit insolated from Town
The people were easy to work with and everything was great as far as cleanliness. Location was great and the views from the porch were unforgettable. Diving and snorkeling from the laguns and beaches in the north end were awesome. That said, the distance to town was pretty far and we only make one trip to check it out. No need to leave the north end if all you want is secluded beachs. Playa Lagun was nice but the beach was small and very little shade to sit on the beach and enjoy. We ended up going to other beaches most days. Richard at the dive shop was the best, really enjoyed friendly helpful nature. He pretty much led us into the right direction for diving. Dive shop is set up very nice with rinse tanks and storage available at the shop. Drive right up to the shop, load and go.
Now for a few minor issues that keeps me from giving 5 stars. Kitchen was really difficult for cooking. No real oven (although we knew this going in) and limited on cookware. Surprised there was no beach towels or even soap in soap in the bathrooms. My biggest complaint would be the fact that you get charged for air conditioning which for us was not an issue for us because we left windows and doors open all day. The issue was many of the windows and even the sliders has no screens which meant that flies and other insects were free to come and go. If you are going to charge for AC, at least have good screens on the windows and doors. One time we even has a bird stop by for a visit.

Great location and great snorkeling
This is our second week-long stay in this home. It has beautiful views of the bay (Playa Lagun) and a wonderful opportunity to have local fauna (Venezualian troupials, bananaquits, brown throated parakeets, Iquanas) visit you as you sit on the patio and enjoy the views of turquiose water and sunsets.
This home (Lagoon Ocean Resort #16) has three bedrooms and three bathrooms but I would recommend it for no more that two couples. The kitchen is well-equipped, and there is a local minimart about a ten minute drive, in Barber. For a full supermarket, though, you'll have to drive about 35 minutes to Centrum supermarket.
Great snorkeling by walking down the steps to the beach, or visit my favorite snorkeling beach, Klein Knip, which is about an 8 minutes drive from Playa Lagun. There were lots of green turtles in Playa Lagun during our stay. The largest one sleeps in Lagun Bay overnight.

Beautiful
We have just nothing but good to say about this place. We will come back some day for sure.
The view, the ocean, the snorkling, everything is amazing.

Snorkeling is great here!
We stayed in this bungalow with our friends for 9 days. It can comfortably hold six people because there are 3 bedrooms, each with two twin beds, as well as three bathrooms, each with a shower. We were a group of four people, however.
The kitchen is fully equipped so that you can stock up at Centrum supermarket in Willemstad, about 35 minutes away, and prepare your own food. There are also two nearby restaurants. The onsite restaurant, Bahia, has good food. We didn’t care for the food at the other restaurant which is just off the public parking at Lagun Beach.
The resort had mostly Dutch guests during our stay, though there were Americans as well. The management, father Peter Koster and son Ben, are friendly. The resort is quiet and well—run.
Keep in mind that there are “garden view” and “ocean view” bungalows. This particular bungalow has a beautiful ocean view. You can sit out on either the 2nd floor or 1st floor balconies and enjoy the ocean view by day, and the stars/planets at night.
There is a coin operated washing machine and dryer on premises.
That being said, the resort is located off the beaten path. It is a 35 minute drive to the fully stocked Centrum supermarket in Willemstad. Alternatively, there is a decent minimarket (Centro or Centru Minimart) located in Barber, a 10 minute drive from the resort.
I would recommend this place for avid snorkelers. You can walk down the resort’s private staircase which leads you directly to the beach, and snorkel each day. The water is calm, and this is a good place to go for new snorkelers, as well as experienced onces such as us. Similarly, you may want to try night snorkeling because the water is so calm, and the lights from the resort help you find your way. For snorkeling at night, you will need to bring or rent a dive light. If you don’t love to snorkel, I would recommend you stay at a more centrally located resort in Curacao.
Finally, I should mention that about 10 minutes away is Playa Grandi (also called Playa Pescador) where you are guaranteed to see sea turtles. The local fishermen discard portions of their catch into the sea, and this has led to the turtles making that beach their home.

This is a great place to stay if you love to swim and Snorkel. Nice and Quiet too with no cars in the background. The deck is a ten !

Great for a large family
My husband and I traveled with our ten month old baby and my mom. We also had my brother come for a couple of days as well. The condo was huge and we all had our own rooms and bathroom. The living area was nice and we loved having a kitchen.
The view of Playa Lagun can not be beat! What a gorgeous view from the downstairs outside patio and the upstairs HUGE patio. The pool was right out the back door as well as the outside shower which was great to wash off our snorkel equipment.
The condo is in a great location to Bahia Bar and restaurant which we enjoyed for many meals. The staff and food are excellent! Not to mention the unbelievable view!!
The stairs leading to the beach were convenient as we snorkeled each morning and evening in the Lagun. We have snorkeled and scuba dived all around the world and we would have to say the snorkeling at Playa Lagun is top five. We saw turtles, octopus, crabs and tons of fish.
If you are looking for a nice size place for your family, great snorkeling and a even better view this place is for you!!

Location, location, location!
My husband and I took our daughter (12) and nephews (9 and 7) to Curacao for their first real snorkeling vacation, and we could not have been happier with this rental. The pictures cannot convey how gorgeous it is, and how close it is to the dive shop and restaurant right next door. The beach is a quick walk away and down some stairs, and you can actually watch the kids from the condo -- I was able to let the older kids go to the beach by themselves because I could keep an eye on them from the condo patios (there's one downstairs and one upstairs). The dive shop rented us lights for one night swim, and during the course of our week we saw squid, eels, cuddlefish, parrotfish, goatfish, and more.
There are two national parks nearby which we explored by rental car. We also took a snorkeling trip off a boat through one of the other local dive shops, and saw sea turtles and a sea cave. Overall, the water and sea life were fantastic. We also went shopping in Willemstad one day. Nice waterfront, good ice cream for the kids.
We did a lot of self-catering, and the car was essential for our grocery runs as this rental is on the north side of the island, about thirty minutes from the larger grocery stores closer to Willemstad and/or the airport. It would have been nice to have had a blender, some more Tupperware for storage, and some large bowls for salad/cut fruit. There's only one large bowl. And I wish I had known before our first grocery run that there were no paper towels or soap; make sure to bring your own.
I would absolutely recommend this property. It's a beautiful location for a good price.

Good Times, Great Place
Place was as described and as indicated in the photographs. We had a good time staying here. We spotted dolphins and a turtle during our stay.
We would come back to this place!

the trip was excellent
Our stay was excellent. This was a beautiful location & everyone loved staying right at the edge of the bay. We found Lagun to be the best of the 6-8 beaches we visited while snorkeling. Although we didn't see any turtles in Lagun this particular week, and only briefly saw one at Jeremy, the corals + number and variety of fish at Lagun make it a hidden gem. We were surprised by the contrast between Lagun & the beaches down by Willemstad, and hope Lagun stays the way it is.
The rest of the vacation was also an enjoyable adventure - the languages (Dutch, Spanish, Papiamento), driving up/down the island with relatively limited maps & markings, using the buses, hiking Christofel, the local food & bakeries in Willemstad, ... . The "supermarket" at California was a good place to get groceries during the week (- the other Tokos were just a surprise). Thanks very much for the opportunity to stay at your place!
There were 6 of us; even with the bus, the car was rather essential. A bit more coordination up front could have been more helpful - like the address, condo number, where to park to register and check-in upon entry (since the vehicle gate out front is locked) - but everyone was especially friendly and a local visitor let us in and got us started.

Beautiful Views with Fantastic Snorkeling
This is a great location! I don't have anything negative to say because I will return with my family. We are avid snorkelers. I rented a car, and we snorkeled other spots as well. We didn't eat out much because we like to cook. We went to the main supermarket. I was impressed with the foods they had like American foods. The owner sent great directions, and Ben, Peter the caretaker's son, greeted us before we could get out of the car. Peter and Ben will help you with any problems and directions. Thankfully, we didn't have any problems. We only cooled two bedrooms and bathrooms at night and in the early mornings. Our electricity bill was around $63 for 7 days. I thought that was good. It was nice and cool. The island breezes cooled the middle of the condo enough for us. There was an air conditioner you could use for the middle. We had plenty of clean towels. No one had mentioned the condo had a safe. I was glad we had a place for our extra cash. You can use American money on the island. Just take smaller bills like twenties or less. This was my second trip to Curacao, and I preferred this instead of an all inclusive. I was not there for parties but snorkeling and good fellowship. The locals are friendly, and it's a safe island to rent a car. I have been several times to Mexico and Jamaica. You can't beat the snorkeling in Curacao so I don't know if I will ever go to other Caribbean islands again. Another good thing is Curacao is not in the Hurricane Belt and doesn't get much rain to spoil a trip. I just returned and am ready to go back. We met a couple who told us about Captain Goodlife at Santa Cruz. The captain will take you to a cave to snorkel and then a black sand beach with a sunken ship to snorkel for $20 per person. Well worth it. The trip lasts around two hours. Santa Cruz is not far from Playa Lagun. Sooo peaceful and beautiful!!!!

Beauty for all Ages
This is one beautiful place with an awesome location. Minutes to the sea and seconds to the pool. The view is breathtaking. The sunsets can only be fully appreciated sitting on the upper or lower veranda as photos don't do them justice. The evenings were quiet and the area felt very safe even outside the gate. We enjoyed our vacation tremendously in Curacao. Lots to see. Diving and snorkeling right outside your front door... and if you want to try scuba diving, lessons are available right at the office. We did it and what an experience. Fresh catch of the day can be bought from the locals right at the beach. The condo was accommodating with all the supplies we needed. Every bedroom had a designated bathroom. This property has had many improvements done since the fall as was explained to us and there were a couple of issues that had to be addressed while we were there but that didn't take away from the enjoyment we had visiting this Island. Should we plan a return visit to Curacao we'd have no problem staying here again.

Nice Condo in nice area
We had one family with 5 persons visiting this nice area. Playa Lagun has great opportunity to swim, snorkel and dive. There is also 2 dive shops nearby where you can get needed gear. Also two restaurants, one just steps away from Condo and another down at the beach. Small mini market only couple minutes of walking distance. Condo is part of bigger holiday village build in circle. There is a nice pool area middle of these. This condo is on sea side and have more privacy even other houses are just 3 meters away. Holiday area was very peaceful. Actual condo was exactly like in pictures. Downstairs two bedrooms with two bathrooms. Also kitchen/living room and small balcony are there. Upstairs has huge balcony with great view to the sea. Also master bedroom, bathroom and big wardrobe are in upstairs. AC is available in all bedrooms and living room downstairs. Kitchen is well equipped and there is enough space for 5 persons. House itself has some signs of heavy usage and other equipments are quite basic. TV does not work unless VHS/DVD player used. Parking place is fenced. With car you can easily reach many nice places, beaches and downtown.

Perfect
My family of 4 stayed here the last part of November. This place is incredible. When we arrived we were greeted right next door at The Bahia and were quickly shown our bungalow. This place is literally right on top of the water. The pool was about 15ft to the left right outside the front door. This was great because the other guests were not on your doorstep. When we had questions or needed anything it was given to us right away. You can not believe the views. Town is a good half hour away but that was no big deal. We checked out Trip Advisor for restaurants and things to do in the area. We had a great Chillaxing vacation. Can't wait to go back. Thanks Guys!!

A wonderful vacation at a breathtaking resort.
My husband, inlaws and I had a wonderful week long visit at this resort. This specific unit is within 5 feet from the edge of the wall overlooking the Lagun. Access to the beach was easy and convenient. The unit is clean and beautifully decorated. Snorkeling in the Lagun was phenomenal. We visited several gorgeous beaches on our trip, but snorkeling by far was at it's best at Lagun. The views from porch and balcony at this unit are amazing. Staying on the north end of the island was very remote. There were a few local restaurants near by. We picked up a few food items at local stores. My only complaint about the unit was the beds were extremely hard. All four of us had difficulty sleeping in the beds. My husband even took cushions from the couch one night to sleep on the floor. Overall, it was a wonderful trip. a beautiful resort, and a place I hope to be able to visit again in the future.

Beautiful!
I had the privelage of staying in the 3 bedroom and Scott's 1 bedroom, they are both wonderful. The view is spectacular. And the rooms are big and comfortable. We started off as a group of 4 and dwindled down to me and hubby..hence the move to the 1 bedroom. I would have preferred to stay in the 3 bedroom, just a personal preference as they both are great. The patio was much larger in the 3 bdrm for sitting out and eating, which we chose to do most nights.
This resort is not in a big town, but thats what we were looking for. We spent everyday snorkeling in the Lagun which was amazing. Swimming with the sea turtles was a lifetime experience. My husband did the night snorkel and really enjoyed it. And my sister and brother inlaw did all their scuba right out of the Lagun. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation. We would definately not hesitate to stay here again.
Thank you Scott for all your help!

Loved our vacation!
Our family of four had an amazing time at Playa Lagun! This was our first trip to Curacao and we will definitely vacation here again. The view from the house was breathtaking and we loved that it was far from the crowds. It was nice to relax on the deck, watch the sunset and take in the beauty of the island. Scott was wonderful to work with and his suggestions on what to see, do and where to eat were so helpful (Landhuis Misje was tops for food and service). Playa Lagun is a veritable island fantasy getaway!!!!!
btw, for those traveling from the states (via Aruba), be prepared... it's an all day journey, but well worth it!!!!!

A Hidden Gem
For those that are looking for a tranquil vacation off the beaten path and far from the commercialized world then Curacao and Lagun are for you. The unit was great, the views and location were unbeatable. We cooked several dinners at home, ate breakfast on the patio each morning and ate out at the fantastic local resturants the rest of the time. By concensus of our kids (13 & 9) and my wife and I our favorite beaches were, in order: PortaMari, Cas Abou, Grote Knip, Seaquarium & Playa Lagun. You can't beat snorkling in Playa Lagun where we saw schools of fish, sea turtles, eels and stingrays. We do not dive, yet, but did snorkle every day. Our youngest is looking forward to the day when he can get his junior dive certification. For dining out our favorites, in order: Landhuis Mishi (a fantasitic locally owned restaurant), Daniel & Kura Hulanda Lodge.
If you are trying to decide between staying in Willemstad and up North, in our opinion, it is a no brainer to stay in Lagun or Westpunt near the best beaches, diving and restaurants. You definately need a car. Roads in the country are easy to navigate but Willemstad is a bit more of a challenge. Get a map from Hertz, even if you rent from somewhere else, as it has all the KFC, Pizza Hut, Subway and Gas Stations marked. They make great landmarks in the absence of road signs.
The summary, of the 50 or so countries I have visited for work or play over the years Curacao easily ranks in the top 5. We will be back and Lagun is where we will stay.

Special
A beautiful, special place with great climate, spectacular ocean views, a constant breeze and fabulous snorkelling including daily visits by grazing sea turtles. View from 2nd floor balcony allowed me to direct kids towards turtles and they say "it was like being in an aquarium". We (family from England with 4 kids age 10, 13, 16,16) just spent 2 weeks in condo 16. Our stay coincided with London Olympics and we were shocked to find no television reception. Luckily high speed free WIFI meant we didn't miss much - IPads a must if you want to stay in touch and for downloading newspapers!
North of the "airport roundabout" is totally untouristy, so be prepared. Our advice is drive directly from airport towards Barber (road better than via Soto) and drop in at California Supermarket (clean, well stocked, quality meat and reasonable prices) before arriving at Condo. Thereafter, Barber minimarket only 10min drive and ok fruit, milk, bread etc. Barber has 2 ATM's and a doctor. Once stocked up be prepared to relax. We mostly self catered but Bahia bar above beach does "dutch" snacks/meals ('til 6.30pm) and Landhuis Doctortuin just south of Barber (open 'til 4pm most days) did typical Curacao meals. Tried Jaanchies at Westpunt but food not great and service extremely slow.
Knip beach lovely but little shelter from sun. Kas Abao beach beautiful with friendly owner of beach bar (good lunches) and plently of shade and beach loungers. Then back to Playa Lagun beach for afternoon sun.
Roads south of airport roundabout pretty tricky as few signposts, many roadworks/diversions and erratic driving...our advice buy a road map before you arrive in Curacao and drive slowly to watch for holes - if possible use a GPS. Willemstad (Punda) certainly worth a visit and Sea Aquarium (snorkelling with dolfins) was very good - dolfins well cared for (kids upset to look at turtles and other fish having seen them living free at Playa Lagun).Carracasbaai is the place to do any watersport like banana boats - we used company called "Adrenalin" - safe and good value.
Condo slept 6 no problem with 3 bathrooms. Only 2 minute walk to beach and swimming pool just by front door. Ivy on hand for any problems and laundered our beach towels. Other Condo owners friendly and very helpful.
Would we return? This is still so underdeveloped and special. Sunrise/sunsets are spectacular -watching tuna hunt fish at 8am from bedroom window....swimming with turtles....Yes we'ld love to return some day.
