About this cabin rental
** New dock with extra slip for guest use and large party deck on the roof with swim platform and kayaks **
This beautiful lake house cabin was newly constructed in 2016. The home has a gorgeous living room with 2-story floor to ceiling bay windows that look out to the lake with a large wrap around porch, comfortable sofas and a 55" flat screen Roku TV. The interior is nicely appointed with tongue and groove walls/ceilings, granite countertops, a floor to ceiling stacked stone fireplace, plenty of space to relax and a large family room in the basement with a large flat screen Smart TV.
There are 4 bedrooms (1 in the basement level, 1 on the main level and 2 upstairs). Three of the bedrooms have king beds with top of the line posturepedic mattresses and the 4th bedroom has 2 sets of twin bunk beds and will sleep 10+ very comfortably. Each bedroom, with the exception of the basement bedroom, has a 32" flat screen Smart TV. The basement bedroom has a large Smart TV and also access to a 49" flat screen Smart TV in the recreation area. The recreation room in the basement has a comfortable sectional sofa and table for six people to play cards, board games or laying out food during the big game. Free Netflix and Disney+ is also available.
The cove is quiet with little boat traffic and is in deep water allowing for plenty of swimming fun for the family. The walk to the lake is fairly level with a gradual rolling decent.
A new dock an extra covered slip for guest use, swim platform with easy stair ladder, party deck on top of the dock and kayaks available for guest use. Spend the evening on the party deck watching the sunset over the peaceful cove before heading back up to the house for an evening by the fire.
A nice fire pit in the backyard is available for wonderful evenings with the family for roasting marshmallows and enjoying good times.
The large open kitchen has plenty of cabinet space with custom made rustic cabinets and granite countertops and overlooks the dining and living rooms for a perfect entertainment layout. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of pots, pans, dinnerware and other supplies needed for cooking for the whole family.
Places to Eat
The greatest number of local restaurants are on Clemson Blvd. To get there, head back out on Galloping Ghost Road and turn right onto Old Webb Road. Then turn left onto Highway 187. Go 2.73 miles and veer right onto Whitehall Road. Continue 5.12 miles and turn left onto Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Continue on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd until you dead end into N Main Street. Turn left and this becomes Clemson Blvd. This road has many typical chain restaurants such as O’Charleys, Five Guys, Chick Fil-A, Chipotle, Chili’s, Texas Roadhouse, Cook Out, Applebee’s, Outback Steakhouse, Eggs Up Grill, Longhorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster, as well as some local favorites such as Elkmont Tap & Cellar and Papa’s and Beer.
Our personal favorite for BBQ is the Smoking Pig on Clemson Blvd (open Thursday, Friday and Saturday). There is also The Farm about 2 miles from the house on Highway 187 (heading back towards Highway 24). The brisket is great at both restaurants, and The Farm offers axe throwing and cornhole while you wait.
Barnwood Grill at 2606 Whitehall Rd, Anderson, SC 29626, is well regarded for its fresh food and fantastic breakfast. It is worth the short drive up the road.
If you want pizza delivery, there is a Domino’s Pizza at the intersection of Hwy 24 and Hwy 187. The phone number is 864-261-3030.
Downtown Anderson as a few favorites such as Mellow Mushroom, Taco Loco and The Meeting Place Restaurant.
Grocery Stores
There are Ingles and Food Lion grocery stores at the intersection of Highways 24 and 187 about 3 miles from the house. Our favorite is Ingles, which also has a Starbucks inside. Be sure to take 30 seconds and get an Ingles card for discounts and fuel points (10 cents off per gallon with every $100 spent).

Home worked perfectly for our group of 3 couples and 5 kids. Dock was awesome-parked a pontoon & 2 jet skis with no issues. Quiet deep cove with great space to swim from the dock. A great trip!

We enjoyed our stay. The house had plenty of room for our large family. We loved being able to control the air!! The dock and back deck were great! The owner was excellent to work with. He was very quick to answer questions.

We had a fabulous stay. The house is better than the listing states. We would definitely stay here again!

Layout of the house was great! My husband and I were up there with our kids and their friends, and it was so nice that we each had our own space. The location was excellent, too. We were close to the grocery stores and restaurants.

Two years running and we’ve loved our getaways on Galloping Ghost. This is such a great place for family or friends to kick back and relax with plenty of space and amenities.

We had a great week at the house. House is very nice. Lake access was good and the boat dock was very convenient. Must have been some heavy rains before our arrival that lead to some washouts on back yard and path to lake. Great lake location away from big water, but not far too get there. Neighborhood location was a bit more rural than we anticipated, but pretty short drives to Anderson or Hartwell for all the non-lake activities.

An attractive, very roomy, country-style house with large, well appointed kitchen and a great dock for our 20’ boat. Ages 9 thru 76 all enjoyed it.

Everything is as shown. Beautiful house, lots of rooms, boat dock, big kitchen. We loved the house and easy access to the lake. Loads of bedrooms for everyone. Deep water cove, deck is fantastic. Sunsets gorgeous!!
Saying all of that, here's the downside, the pillows were horrible, no extra towels or sheets. The grill has never been cleaned. Couple of cockroaches or palmetto bugs...one landed on my head while watching TV. I understand you're next to the water and it's rented and guests don't take care of leaving food out, it still was pretty freaky. The only TV that has Roku is living room. Only had one towel per person, no extra sheets or blankets and no cushions for the furniture on the house deck. The stairs were loose, my husband fixed them. The deck needs some help.
Please don't get the idea that it wasn't worth it; there are just a few things that they could definitely improve upon.
Overall I would recommend this house.

Very nice stay, everything you need all in a close proximity. Lake is great, home amenities are on spot. This is our second stay and probably not the last.

We loved our stay here! The house was great but the dock is our favorite part.

We really enjoyed our time at the lake. The house is nice and has a lot of space for our big family. The house had everything we need for a quick getaway. The house is on a cove with deep water good for fishing and swimming.

Great house. Could use updated pots and pans and bbq.

Four couples and one single made their way to Anderson SC to play with boats on Lake Hartwell. The weather was not initially kind; some rain, then cool but sunny. Once the weather warmed up, we did take advantage of the deck on the back of the house.
Most of us found the beds suitable, one couple found them too firm, but beds are a personal choice. All bedrooms had a bathroom, so no sharing of bathrooms, that was great. Room enough for all nine of us at the large dining table. The living room accommodated most of us with a few using some extra chairs.
Washer and dryer is always a plus.
The covered boat dock was great! It served our three boats, a 15' Lyman, a 16.5' Lyman and a 15' Thompson, well. One boat was in the covered slip and one on each of the outside docks. There was a bit of a walk to the boathouse from the house, but doable. All things considered, a great stay!

Everything went easy and the property was clean and gorgeous! So much room for all of us and well stocked. We played in the water all day, grilled burgers, made a fire and s’mores.

We were down with family and friends for our son's graduation from Clemson. The house was fabulous, clean, and exactly as advertised. The dock was amazing and was perfect for our large group. We will be back. Brian was just fabulous and so timely with his response to questions. Boat rental was close to property also.

My husband and I came to fish the FOM National Championship - brought our daughter, granddaughter and lab. We had little rest time but the property was beautiful! On arrival the home was spotless with exception of the large beautiful windows, which I really hate to mention. But I feel they needed professional cleaning and I don’t think a housekeeper can get that done due to size. It’s the first thing you see when you walk in the door! Having an extra boat slip allowed us to keep our boat in the water the whole time we were there which was very convenient. Met the neighbor from 2 houses down- very friendly. Neighborhood felt very safe! From the comfort of the beds to the beauty of spending time at the dock -our stay was amazing! No problems with the air or heating. There were two nights during our stay we used the heat. Plenty of boxed games and puzzles for younger kids. I would suggest some type of air hockey, goose ball or a pool table downstairs for older kids- even adults. We had to leave a day early due to bad storms coming in and accidentally left some rods and an extension cord at the dock. Contacted the owner who put me in contact with his cleaning lady who took time out of her busy day after cleaning to mail them back to us without any hesitation!! She was super nice and never once acted like it was a bother for her to make sure we were satisfied with our stay. Will

Great place on Lake Hartwell very roomy, clean and also convenient to downtown Anderson and Clemson University. It would also be perfect in the summer with the lake access and beautiful dock!

On the coldest day in Georgia, the heat at the property was not working. The owner of the property stated that it was an unusually cold night and that he was in Atlanta. As a result, he could not do anything. He made no attempt to send someone to the property to check on the thermostat. However, he did offer suggestions via texts, but they did not help. In addition, my parents are 70+ years old and were not able to be comfortable due to the lack of heat in the house. Unfortunately, we had to leave after one night. It was unbearable.

We stayed at this home for a Clemson football weekend. It was spectacular and offered us the room for our fellowship and football. Thank you for your gracious hospitality.

We had an incredible time here. The place is so beautiful and comfy, and the dock is just the cherry on top. 10/10 recommend.

Ages 9-70 enjoyed this great location on beautiful Lake Hartwell. We had a large pontoon boat and spent everyday on the water. My only suggestion is for the Lower area to have an activity like ping pong, Foosball or a pool table.

Great stay
Beautiful property, wonderful location, layout of house is great, dock is perfect. Brian is quick to respond to your questions. Would definitely recommend!

Best VRBO we have ever done!
We usually go to the beach but with gas prices decided to do something closer to home, it was the best decision ever.

Too short!
We have stayed at several homes on Lake Hartwell and this property is now at top of the list. Brian is a great host and very prompt to answer any questions we had. Marina, grocery and dining all very close. All around a great location and stay.

Perfect for Family with Boat
The property was so perfect for our family! Son and Daughter-in-law in basement, Mom and Dad on main floor, Daughter, Son-in-Law and kids on third floor. The covered boat slip for guest boat parking was greatly appreciated. Great Property!

Property was dirty. Found many roaches. AC unit upstairs was broken and was 80* in the upstairs rooms, horrible for sleeping. Downstairs rooms were controlled by main floor unit where main floor stayed about 73* and the downstairs stayed at 67*. Walking from downstairs to upstairs was quite bizarre feeling a difference of about 15 degrees? Redeeming qualities were the the dock and the lake access. Fix the cleaning and the AC units and it’s be a 4.5 star experience. Instead was more like a 2.5.

This is our second time renting this home in 2022. Perfect location for our local family gathering. Updated refrigerator, bed coverings, and landscaping. The last time we stayed in February the A/C didn’t work, (needed for SC Weather- 79 degrees in February), and this time it was still not working correctly. We bought box fans for the first night until the heating and air company was able to add Freon to both units. If the units are maintained and are working properly, this is an awesome lake front rental. This will not deter us from renting again in the future if available.

The pictures do not do this Lovely home justice. The neighbor across the street is super nice and allowed us to park on his property. Communication with the owner was easy and he responded quickly to our questions and request to extend our stay.

Quick Getaway to an Awesome Home
This was the perfect property and location for our family get away. The house is beautiful, spacious, and had everything that we needed. The upper deck of the dock allowed us to get some sun in February (SC Weather) and enjoy the lake views. We have family in the area and plan to use it again in the future.

We can’t say enough about the communication, the cleanliness, the fun, it’s the perfect house and if I didn’t have a summer trip planned for 2022 I would be back in a heartbeat
